ਸਰਬਲੋਹਦੀਰਛਿਆਹਮਨੈ॥
The All-Steel Lord is my Protector.
ਸਰਬਕਾਲਜੀਦੀਰਛਿਆਹਮਨੈ॥
The All-Destroying Lord is my Protector.
ਸਰਬਲੋਹਜੀਦੀਸਦਾਰਛਿਆਹਮਨੈ॥
The All-Steel Lord is ever my Protector.

ਪ੍ਰਣਵੋਆਦਿਏਕੰਕਾਰਾ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
I Salute the One Primal Lord.
ਜਲਥਲਮਹੀਅਲਕੀਓਪਸਾਰਾ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਜਲ, ਥਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Who pervades the watery, earthly and heavenly expanse.
ਆਦਿਪੁਰਖਅਬਿਗਤਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ॥
ਉਹ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ, ਦੇਹ-ਰਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਵਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ
That Primal Purusha is Unmanifested and Immortal.
ਲੋਕਚੱਤ੍ਰਦਸਜੋਤਿਪ੍ਰਕਾਸੀ॥੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੋਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਮਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਖਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
His Light illumines the fourteen worlds. I.
ਹਸਤਿਕੀਟਕੇਬੀਚਸਮਾਨਾ॥
ਜੋ ਹਾਥੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਤਕ (ਸਭ ਵਿਚ) ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
He hath merged Himself within the elephant and the worm.
ਰਾਵਰੰਕਜਿਹਇਕਸਰਜਾਨਾ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਤੇ ਭਿਖਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ-ਸਮਾਨ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ,
The king and the baggar equal before Him.
ਅਦ੍ਵੈਅਲਖਪੁਰਖਅਬਿਗਾਮੀ॥
ਉਹ ਦ੍ਵੈਤ-ਰਹਿਤ, ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਵਾਸਤਵਿਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ
That Non-dual and Imperceptible Purusha is Inseparable.
ਸਭਘਟਘਟਕੇਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
He reaches the inner core of every heart.2.
ਅਲਖਰੂਪਅਛੈਅਨਭੇਖਾ॥
ਉਹ ਦਿਸਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ, ਨਾ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ,
He is an Inconceivable Entity, Exernal and Garbless.
ਰਾਗਰੰਗਜਿਹਰੂਪਨਰੇਖਾ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮੋਹ (ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਜਾਂ ਰੇਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
He is without attachment, colour, form and mark.
ਬਰਨਚਿਹਨਸਭਹੂੰਤੇਨਿਆਰਾ॥
ਉਹ ਵਰਨ, ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ (ਆਦਿ) ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ;
He distinct from all others of various colours and signs.
ਆਦਿਪੁਰਖਅਦ੍ਵੈਅਬਿਕਾਰਾ॥੩॥
ਉਹ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ, ਅਦ੍ਵੈਤ-ਸਰੂਪ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
He is the Primal Purusha, Unique and Changeless.3.
ਬਰਨਚਿਹਨਜਿਹਜਾਤਨਪਾਤਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਰਨ, ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ, ਜਾਤਿ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਾਦਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
He is without colour, mark, caste and lineage.
ਸੱਤ੍ਰਮਿੱਤ੍ਰਜਿਹਤਾਤਨਮਾਤਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ, ਮਿਤਰ, ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ,
He is the without enemy, friend, father and mother.
ਸਭਤੇਦੂਰਿਸਭਨਤੇਨੇਰਾ॥
ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ,
He is far away from all and closest to all.
ਜਲਿਥਲਿਮਹੀਅਲਿਜਾਹਿਬਸੇਰਾ॥੪॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਜਲ, ਥਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
His dwelling is within water, on earth and in heavens.4.
ਅਨਹਦਰੂਪਅਨਾਹਦਬਾਨੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਸੀਮਾ-ਰਹਿਤ (ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰ) ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਆਘਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
He is Limitless Entity and hath infinite celestial strain.
ਚਰਨਸਰਨਿਜਿਹਬਸਤਭਵਾਨੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ('ਭਵਾਨੀ') ਵਸਦੀ ਹੈ।
The goddess Durga takes refuge at His Feet and abides there.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਬਿਸਨੁਅੰਤੁਨਹੀਪਾਇਓ॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ
Brahma and Vishnu Could not know His end.
ਨੇਤਿਨੇਤਿਮੁਖਚਾਰਬਤਾਇਓ॥੫॥
ਸਗੋਂ (ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਚੌਹਾਂ ਮੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ (ਨੇਤਿ ਨੇਤਿ) ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
The four-headed god Brahma described Him ad 'Neti Neti' (Not this, Not this).5.
ਕੋਟਿਇੰਦ੍ਰਉਪਇੰਦ੍ਰਬਨਾਏ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਇੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਇੰਦਰ (ਵਾਮਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ,
He hath created millions of Indras and Upindras (smaller Indras).
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਰੁਦ੍ਰਉਪਾਇਖਪਾਏ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਰੁਦ੍ਰ (ਸ਼ਿਵ) ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ;
He hath created and destroyed Brahmas and Rudras (Shivas).
ਲੋਕਚੱਤ੍ਰਦਸਖੇਲਰਚਾਇਓ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ
He hath created the play of fourteen worlds.
ਬਹੁਰਿਆਪਿਹੀਬੀਚਮਿਲਾਇਓ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਟ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
And then Himself merges it within His Self.6.
ਦਾਨਵਦੇਵਫਨਿੰਦਅਪਾਰਾ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਦੈਂਤ, ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ,
Infinite demons, gods and Sheshanagas.
ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬਜੱਛਰਚੇਸੁਭਚਾਰਾ॥
ਗੰਧਰਬ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਆਚਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਯਕਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ;
He hath created Gandharvas, Yakshas and being of high character.
ਭੂਤਭਵਿੱਖਭਵਾਨਕਹਾਨੀ॥
ਭੂਤ, ਭਵਿਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਤਮਾਨ (ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ) ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ;
The story of past, future and present.
ਘਟਘਟਕੇਪਟਪਟਕੀਜਾਨੀ॥੭॥
ਉਹ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਪਤ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
Regarding the inward recesses of every heart are known to Him.7.
ਤਾਤਮਾਤਜਿਹਜਾਤਿਨਪਾਤਾ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਮਾਤਾ, ਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਤਿ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਬਰਾਦਰੀ;
He Who hath no father, mother caste and lineage.
ਏਕਰੰਗਕਾਹੂਨਹੀਰਾਤਾ॥
ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਇਕ ਨਾਲ (ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
He is not imbues with undivided love for anyone of them.
ਸਰਬਜੋਤਿਕੇਬੀਚਸਮਾਨਾ॥
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੋਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ;
He is merged in all lights (souls).
ਸਭਹੂੰਸਰਬਠੌਰਪਹਿਚਾਨਾ॥੮॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਂਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਵਸਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
I have recognized Him within all and visualized Him at all places. 8.
ਕਾਲਰਹਤਅਨਕਾਲਸਰੂਪਾ॥
ਉਹ ਕਾਲ (ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ) ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਕਾਲ (ਦੀਆਂ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੈ;
He is deathless and a non-temporal Entity.
ਅਲਖਪੁਰਖਅਬਿਗਤਅਵਿਧੂਤਾ॥
ਉਹ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅਵਿਅਕਤ, ਮਾਇਆਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੈ।
He is Imperceptible Purusha, Unmanifested and Unscathed.
ਜਾਤਿਪਾਤਿਜਿਹਚਿਹਨਨਬਰਨਾ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਤਿ, ਬਰਾਦਰੀ, ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
He who is without caste, lineage, mark and colour.
ਅਬਿਗਤਦੇਵਅਛੈਅਨਭਰਮਾ॥੯॥
ਉਹ ਅਵਿਅਕਤ, ਅਵਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਪਰਮ-ਸੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
The Unmanifest Lord is Indestructible and ever Stable.9.
ਸਭਕੋਕਾਲੁਸਭਨਕੋਕਰਤਾ॥
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਜਕ ਹੈ;
He is the Destroyer of all and Creator of all.
ਰੋਗਸੋਗਦੋਖਨਕੋਹਰਤਾ॥
ਉਹ ਰੋਗ, ਸੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਖਾਂ (ਪਾਪਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
He is the Remover of maladies, sufferings and blemishes.
ਏਕਚਿਤਿਜਿਹਇਕਛਿਨਧਿਆਇਓ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ ਚਿੱਤ ਇਕ ਛਿਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
He Who meditates upon Him with single mind even for an instant;
ਕਾਲਫਾਸਕੇਬੀਚਨਆਇਓ॥੧੦॥
ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਕਾਲ (ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ) ਦੇ ਫੰਧੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
He doth not come within the trap of death. 10.
ਤ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥ਕਬਿੱਤ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ: ਕਬਿਤ:

ਕਤਹੂੰਸੁਚੇਤਹੁਇਕੈਚੇਤਨਾਕੋਚਾਰਕੀਓਕਤਹੂੰਅਚਿੰਤਹੁਇਕੈਸੋਵਤਅਚੇਤਹੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ) ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਦਰ (ਮਨੋਹਰ) ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਿਸਚਿੰਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਘੂਕ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ।
O Lord! Somewhere becoming Conscious, Thou adrnest consciousness; somewhere becoming Carefree, thou sleepest unconsciously.
