TOMAR STANZA BY THY GRACE
ਪੁਨਭਏਮੁਨੀਛਿਤਰਾਇ॥
ਫਿਰ ਮੁਨੀ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਇਆ
Then Muni became the king of the earth
ਇਹਲੋਕਕੇਹਰਿਰਾਇ॥
ਜੋ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ।
The Lion-King of this world.
ਅਰਿਜੀਤਿਜੀਤਿਅਖੰਡ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਨਾ ਖੰਡੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤ ਜਿਤ ਕੇ
By conquering the unbreakable enemies,
ਮਹਿਕੀਨਰਾਜੁਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ॥੧॥੩੨੦॥
ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧॥੩੨੦॥
He ruled gloriously over the earth.1.320.
ਅਰਿਘਾਇਘਾਇਅਨੇਕ॥
ਅਨੇਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ
He killed many enemies,
ਰਿਪੁਛਾਡੀਯੋਨਹੀਂਏਕ॥
ਇਕ ਵੀ ਵੈਰੀ (ਬਾਕੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਛਡਿਆ।
And did not leave even one of them alive.
ਅਨਖੰਡਰਾਜੁਕਮਾਇ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਅਖੰਡ ਰਾਜ ਕਮਾਇਆ
He then ruled uninterrupted.
ਛਿਤਛੀਨਛਤ੍ਰਫਿਰਾਇ॥੨॥੩੨੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਖੋਹ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਛਤਰ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੩੨੧॥
He sized other lands and held the canopy over his head.2.321.
ਅਨਖੰਡਰੂਪਅਪਾਰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਅਪਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੰਡ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ
He was person of superb and perfect beauty
ਅਨਮੰਡਰਾਜਜੁਝਾਰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੇ ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸੀ।
An impetuous warrior-king
ਅਬਿਕਾਰਰੂਪਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਸੀ
Glory-incarnate and devoid-king
ਅਨਖੰਡਰਾਜਅਮੰਡ॥੩॥੩੨੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਅਖੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੰਡ ਸੀ ॥੩॥੩੨੨॥
The Sovereign of undivided and imperishable kingdom.3.322.
ਬਹੁਜੀਤਿਜੀਤਿਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ॥
(ਰਾਜਾ ਮੁਨੀ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤ ਜਿਤ ਕੇ
Conquering many kings,
ਬਹੁਛਾਡਿਕੈਸਰਜਾਲ॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੌਛਾੜ ਕਰ ਕੇ
And shooting many arrows,
ਅਰਿਮਾਰਿਮਾਰਿਅਨੰਤ॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ
Killing innumerable enemies,
ਛਿਤਕੀਨਰਾਜਦੁਰੰਤ॥੪॥੩੨੩॥
ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੪॥੩੨੩॥
He established immeasurable kingdom on the earth.4.323.
ਬਹੁਰਾਜਭਾਗਕਮਾਇ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿਰ ਤਕ ਰਾਜ-ਭਾਗ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ
Ruling the prosperous kingdom for a long time,
ਇਮਬੋਲੀਓਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਇ॥
(ਇਕ ਦਿਨ) ਰਾਜਾ ਇੰਜ ਬੋਲਿਆ
The king of kings said thus
ਇਕਕੀਜੀਐਮਖਸਾਲ॥
ਕਿ ਇਕ ਯੱਗ-ਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ
“Prepare and altar for sacrifice,
ਦਿਜਬੋਲਿਲੇਹੁਉਤਾਲ॥੫॥੩੨੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ('ਉਤਾਲ') ਬੁਲਾ ਲਵੋ ॥੫॥੩੨੪॥
“And call the Brahmins quickly.”5.324.
ਦਿਜਬੋਲਿਲੀਨਅਨੇਕ॥
ਅਨੇਕ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ,
Many Brahmins were then invited.
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਛਾਡੀਓਨਹੀਏਕ॥
ਇਕ ਵੀ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
None of them was left at his home.
ਮਿਲਿਮੰਤ੍ਰਕੀਨਬਿਚਾਰ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ
The consulation with ministers and Brahmins began.
ਮਤਿਮਿਤ੍ਰਮੰਤ੍ਰਉਚਾਰ॥੬॥੩੨੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਪੁਛਿਆ (ਹੋਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ) ॥੬॥੩੨੫॥
The sagacious friend and ministers began to recite mantras.6.325.
ਤਬਬੋਲਿਓਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਇ॥
ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ
Then the king of king said,
ਕਰਿਜਗਕੋਚਿਤਚਾਇ॥
ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਯੱਗ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
“There is incentive in my mind for a sacrifice
ਕਿਵਕੀਜੀਐਮਖਸਾਲ॥
(ਹੁਣ ਦਸੋ) ਕਿਹੋ, ਜਿਹੀ ਯੱਗ-ਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਏ।
“What type of sacrificial altar be prepared?
ਕਹੁਮੰਤ੍ਰਮਿਤ੍ਰਉਤਾਲ॥੭॥੩੨੬॥
ਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤਰੀ! ਜਲਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿਓ ॥੭॥੩੨੬॥
“O my friends, tell me quickly.”7.326.
ਤਬਮੰਤ੍ਰਮਿਤ੍ਰਨਕੀਨ॥
ਤਦ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ
Then the friends consulted one another.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੰਗਯਉਕਹਿਦੀਨ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਫਿਰ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਜ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
They told the king like this:
ਸੁਨਿਰਾਜਰਾਜਉਦਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਉਦਾਰ ਰਾਜੇ! ਸੁਣੋ,
O generous monarch, listen,
ਦਸਚਾਰਿਚਾਰਿਅਪਾਰ॥੮॥੩੨੭॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਗਿਆਤਾ ਹੋ ॥੮॥੩੨੭॥
“Thou art very sagacious in all the fourteen worlds.8.327.
ਸਤਿਜੁਗਮੈਸੁਨਿਰਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਸਤਿਯੁਗ ਵਿਚ
“Listen, O king, in Satyuga,
ਮਖਕੀਨਚੰਡਬਨਾਇ॥
ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ
“The goddess Chandi had performed the sacrifice
ਅਰਿਮਾਰਕੈਮਹਿਖੇਸ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ
“By killing the enemy, the demon Mahishasura,
ਬਹੁਤੋਖਕੀਨਪਸੇਸ॥੯॥੩੨੮॥
('ਪਸੇਸ') ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੱਗ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੯॥੩੨੮॥
“She had pleased Shiva greatly”9.328.
ਮਹਿਖੇਸਕਉਰਣਘਾਇ॥
ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ
After killing Mahishasura in the battlefield,
ਸਿਰਿਇੰਦ੍ਰਛਤ੍ਰਫਿਰਾਇ॥
ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਛੱਤਰ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ।
The canopy was held over the head of Indra.
ਕਰਿਤੋਖਜੋਗਨਿਸਰਬ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ
She had pleased all the vamps,
ਕਰਿਦੂਰਦਾਨਵਗਰਬ॥੧੦॥੩੨੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੦॥੩੨੯॥
And effaced the pride of the demons.10.329.
ਮਹਿਖੇਸਕਉਰਣਿਜੀਤਿ॥
ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਤ ਕੇ
After conquering Mahishasura in the battlefield.
ਦਿਜਦੇਵਕੀਨਅਭੀਤ॥
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੈ-ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
She had made the Brahmins and gods fearless
ਤ੍ਰਿਦਸੇਸਲੀਨਬੁਲਾਇ॥
ਇੰਦਰ ('ਤ੍ਰਿਦਸੇਸ') ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ
She called the god Indra,
ਛਿਤਛੀਨਛਤ੍ਰਫਿਰਾਇ॥੧੧॥੩੩੦॥
ਅਤੇ (ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਤੋਂ) ਧਰਤੀ ਖੋਹ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਛੱਤਰ ਝੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੧॥੩੩੦॥
And seizing the earth from Mahishasura, she held the canopy over his head.11.330.
ਮੁਖਚਾਰਲੀਨਬੁਲਾਇ॥
ਜਗਤ-ਮਾਤਾ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਚਾਰ ਮੁਖਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ
She called the four-headed Brahma,
ਚਿਤਚਉਪਸਿਉਜਗਮਾਇ॥
ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ
With her heart’s desire, she (the mother of the world),
ਕਰਿਜਗਕੋਆਰੰਭ॥
ਯੱਗ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਕਰਾਇਆ।
Began the performance of the sacrifice
ਅਨਖੰਡਤੇਜਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ॥੧੨॥੩੩੧॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਤੇਜ ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੰਡ ਸੀ ॥੧੨॥੩੩੧॥
She had indivisible and powerful glory.12.331.
ਤਬਬੋਲੀਯੋਮੁਖਚਾਰ॥
ਤਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ,
Then the four-headed Brahma spoke,
ਸੁਨਿਚੰਡਿਚੰਡਜੁਹਾਰ॥
"ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀ ਚੰਡੀ! ਸੁਣੋ,
“Listen, O Chandi, I bow in obeisance to thee,
ਜਿਮਹੋਇਆਇਸਮੋਹਿ॥
(ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ) ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਹੋਏ,
“Just as thou hast asked me,
ਤਿਮਭਾਖਊਮਤਤੋਹਿ॥੧੩॥੩੩੨॥
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਰਾਇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ" ॥੧੩॥੩੩੨॥
“In the same way, I advise thee.”13.322.
ਜਗਜੀਅਜੰਤਅਪਾਰ॥
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਜੀਅ-ਜੰਤੂ
The innumerable beings and creatures of the world,
ਨਿਜਲੀਨਦੇਵਹਕਾਰ॥
ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਏ।
The goddess herself called them to come,
ਅਰਿਕਾਟਿਕੈਪਲਖੰਡ॥
ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਟ ਕੇ
And within her enemies she cut them in an instant.
ਪੜਿਬੇਦਮੰਤ੍ਰਉਦੰਡ॥੧੪॥੩੩੩॥
ਵੇਦ ਮੰਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਚੀ ਸੁਰ ਵਿਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੪॥੩੩੩॥
With her loud voice she recited the Vedic mantras and performed the sacrifice.14.333.
ਰੂਆਲਛੰਦ॥ਤ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਰੂਆਲ ਛੰਦ: ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ:
ROOAAL STANZA BY THE GRACE
ਬੋਲਿਬਿਪਨਮੰਤ੍ਰਮਿਤ੍ਰਨਜਗਕੀਨਅਪਾਰ॥
(ਦੁਰਗਾ ਨੇ) ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ, ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਯੱਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
The Brahmins began the performance of the sacrifice by the recitation of auspicious mantras
ਇੰਦ੍ਰਅਉਰਉਪਿੰਦ੍ਰਲੈਕੈਬੋਲਿਕੈਮੁਖਚਾਰ॥
ਇੰਦਰ, ਵਾਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਤਕ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ (ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ ਕਿ)
Brahma, Indra and other gods were also invited.
ਕਉਨਭਾਤਨਕੀਜੀਐਅਬਜਗਕੋਆਰੰਭ॥
ਹੁਣ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੱਗ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏ।
“In what way, the sacrifice be began now?” the king asked again,
ਆਜਮੋਹਿਉਚਾਰੀਐਸੁਨਿਮਿਤ੍ਰਮੰਤ੍ਰਅਸੰਭ॥੧॥੩੩੪॥
ਹੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਮੰਤਰੀਓ! ਅਜ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਭਰੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿਓ ॥੧॥੩੩੪॥
“O friends, give me to-day, thy advice in this impossible errand.”1.334.
ਮਾਸਕੇਪਲਕਾਟਿਕੈਪੜਿਬੇਦਮੰਤ੍ਰਅਪਾਰ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਯੱਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ) ਮਾਸ ਦੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰ ਵੇਦ-ਮੰਤਰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ
The friend advised that the flesh chopped into bits alongwith the recitation of mantras,
ਅਗਨਿਭੀਤਰਹੋਮੀਐਸੁਨਿਰਾਜਰਾਜਅਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਬਲਿਦਾਨ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ('ਅਬਿਚਾਰ') ਅਗਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਹੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ! ਸੁਣੋ,
Be burnt in the sacrificial fire the king was asked to listen and act without any other thoughts
ਛੇਦਿਚਿਛੁਰਬਿੜਾਰਾਸੁਰਧੂਲਿਕਰਣਿਖਪਾਇ॥
(ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ) ਚਿਛੁਰ, ਬਿੜਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਲਿਕਰਣ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਖਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
The goddess had killed the demons named Chithar and Biraal and destroyed Dhoolkaran
ਮਾਰਦਾਨਵਕਉਕਰਿਓਮਖਦੈਤਮੇਧਬਨਾਇ॥੨॥੩੩੫॥
ਅਤੇ (ਸਾਰਿਆਂ) ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੈਂਤ-ਮੇਧ ਯੱਗ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨॥੩੩੫॥
After killing the demons she performed the demon-sacrifice.2.335.
ਤੈਸਹੀਮਖਕੀਜੀਐਸੁਨਿਰਾਜਰਾਜਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਰਾਜੇ! ਸੁਣੋ, (ਤਸੀਂ ਵੀ) ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਯੱਗ ਕਰੋ।
“Listen, O most Glorious Sovereign, thou shouldst perform the sacrifice in that way
ਜੀਤਿਦਾਨਵਦੇਸਕੇਬਲਵਾਨਪੁਰਖਅਖੰਡ॥
(ਸਾਰੇ) ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤ ਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਅਖੰਡ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੋਏ ਹੋ।
“O mighty and perfect Lord, therefore conquer all the demons of the country
ਤੈਸਹੀਮਖਮਾਰਕੈਸਿਰਿਇੰਦ੍ਰਛਤ੍ਰਫਿਰਾਇ॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ) ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯੱਗ ਵਿਚ (ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਰ ਕੇ (ਦੁਰਗਾ ਨੇ) ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਪਰ ਛੱਤਰ ਝੁਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ
“Just as the goddess having killed the demons, held the canopy over the head of Indra,
ਜੈਸਸੁਰਸੁਖੁਪਾਇਓਤਿਵਸੰਤਹੋਹੁਸਹਾਇ॥੩॥੩੩੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਤਿਆਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੋ ॥੩॥੩੩੬॥

ਗਿਆਨਪ੍ਰਬੋਧਸੰਪੂਰਨ॥
ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ।
ੴਸ੍ਰੀਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫਤੇ॥
The Lord is One and He can be attained through the grace of the true Guru.

ਹੁਣ ਚੌਬੀਸ ਅਉਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ:

ਅਬਚਉਬੀਸਉਚਰੋਂਅਵਤਾਰਾ॥
ਹੁਣ (ਮੈਂ) ਚੌਵੀ ਅਵਤਾਰਾਂ (ਦੀ ਕਥਾ) ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
Now I describe the wonderful performance of twenty-four incarnations.
ਜਿੱਹਬਿਧਤਿਨਕਾਲਖਾਅਖਾਰਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੀਲਾ ('ਅਖਾਰਾ') ਵੇਖੀ ਹੈ।
In the way I visualized the same
ਸੁਨੀਯਹੁਸੰਤਸਬੈਚਿਤਲਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸੰਤੋ! ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਸੁਣੋ,
O saints listen to it attentively.
ਬਰਨਤਸਯਾਮਜਥਾਮਤਭਾਈ॥੧॥
ਸਿਆਮ (ਕਵੀ) ਨੂੰ (ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ) ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
The poet Shyam is narrating it according or his own under-standing.1.
ਚਉਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:
CHAUPAI
ਜਬਜਬਹੋਤਅਰਿਸਟਿਅਪਾਰਾ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਜਦੋਂ (ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਜਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ) ਦੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ('ਅਰਿਸਟਿ') ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Whenever numerous tyrants take birth,
ਤਬਤਬਦੇਹਧਰਤਅਵਤਾਰਾ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਤਦੋਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦੇਹ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Then the Lord manifests himself in physical form
ਕਾਲਸਬਨਕੋਪੇਖਤਮਾਸਾ॥
ਕਾਲ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ
The KAL (Destroyer Lord) scans the play of all,
ਅੰਤਹਕਾਲਕਰਤਹੈਨਾਸਾ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਓੜਕ ਓਹੀ (ਸਭ ਦਾ) ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
And ultimately destroys all.2.
ਚਉਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:

ਕਾਲਸਭਨਕਾਕਰਤਪਸਾਰਾ॥
ਕਾਲ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The KAL (Destroyer Lord) causes the expansion of all
ਅੰਤਕਾਲਸੋਈਖਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ॥
ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਖਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The same Temporal Lord ultimately destroys all
ਆਪਨਰੂਪਅਨੰਤਨਧਰਹੀ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੰਤ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He manifests Himself in innumerable forms,
ਆਪਹਿਮਧਲੀਨਪੁਨਕਰਹੀ॥੩॥
ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ (ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
And Himself merges all within Hmself.3.

ਇਨਮਹਿਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਸੁਦਸਅਵਤਾਰਾ॥
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਅਵਤਾਰਾਂ) ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਉਤੇ ਦਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ (ਹੋਏ ਹਨ)
In this creation is included the world and the ten incarnations
ਜਿਨਮਹਿਰਮਿਯਾਰਾਮਹਮਾਰਾ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਰਾਮ) ਰਮਣ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Within them pervades our Lord
ਅਨਤਚਤੁਰਦਸਗਨਅਵਤਾਰੂ॥
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਭਿੰਨ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਅਵਤਾਰ (ਹੋਰ ਵੀ) ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Besides ten, other fourteen incarnations are also reckoned
ਕਹੋਜੁਤਿਨਤਿਨਕੀਏਅਖਾਰੂ॥੪॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀ ਕੀ ਲੀਲਾ ਕੀਤੀ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਕਥਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥
And I describe the performance of all them.4.

ਕਾਲਆਪਨੋਨਾਮਛਪਾਈ॥
ਕਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ
The KAL (Temporal Lord) conceals his name,
ਅਵਰਨਕੇਸਿਰਿਦੈਬੁਰਿਆਈ॥
(ਸਾਰੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਖੁਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ) ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
And imposes the villainy over the head of others
