ਕਤਹੂੰਭਿਖਾਰੀਹੁਇਕੈਮਾਂਗਤਫਿਰਤਭੀਖਕਹੂੰਮਹਾਦਾਨਹੁਇਕੈਮਾਂਗਿਓਧਨਦੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਭਿਖਾਰੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮਹਾਦਾਨੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਹ-ਮੰਗਿਆ ਧਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
Somewhere becoming a beggar, Thou beggest alms and somewhere becoming a Supreme Donor, Thou bestowest the begged wealth.
ਕਹੂੰਮਹਾਂਰਾਜਨਕੋਦੀਜਤਅਨੰਤਦਾਨਕਹੂੰਮਹਾਂਰਾਜਨਤੇਛੀਨਛਿਤਲੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਨੰਤ (ਨਿੱਧੀਆਂ) ਦਾਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਧਰਤੀ (ਦੀ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀ) ਖੋਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
Some where Thou givest inexhaustible gifts to emperors and somewhere Thou deprivest the emperors of their kingdoms.
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤਾਸਿਉਬਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਨਅਤੀਤਕਹੂੰਸੁਰਗੁਨਸਮੇਤਹੋ॥੧॥੧੧॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਲਟ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁਕਤ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥੧੧॥
Somewhere Thou workest in accordance with Vedic rites and somewhere Thou art quite opposed to it; somewhere Thou art without three modes of maya and somewhere Thou hast all godly attributes.1.11.
ਕਹੂੰਜੱਛਗੰਧ੍ਰਬਉਰਗਕਹੂੰਬਿਦਿਆਧਰਕਹੂੰਭਏਕਿੰਨਰਪਿਸਾਚਕਹੂੰਪ੍ਰੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਯਕਸ਼, ਗੰਧਰਬ, ਸੱਪ ('ਉਰਗ') ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਧਰ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਕਿੰਨਰ, ਪਿਸ਼ਾਚ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਆਦਿ ਹੈਂ।
O Lord! Somewhere Thou art Yaksha, Gandharva, Sheshanaga and Vidyadhar and somewhere Thou becomest Kinnar, Pishacha and Preta.
ਕਹੂੰਹੁਇਕੈਹਿੰਦੂਆਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀਕੋਗੁਪਤਜਪਿਓਕਹੂੰਹੁਇਕੈਤੁਰਕਾਪੁਕਾਰੇਬਾਂਗਦੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਗੁਪਤ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ; ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਂਗ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
Somewhere Thou becomest a Hindu and repeatest Gayatri secretly: Somewhere becoming a Turk Thou callest Muslims to worship.
ਕਹੂੰਕੋਕਕਾਬਹੁਇਕੈਪੁਰਾਨਕੋਪੜਤਮਤਕਤਹੂੰਕੁਰਾਨਕੋਨਿਦਾਨਜਾਨਲੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕੋਕ ਕਵੀ (ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਪੰਡਿਤ) ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਦੇ ਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਕਦੇ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਦੇ ਤੱਤ੍ਵ-ਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
Somewhere being a poet thou recitest the Pauranic wisdom and somewhere Thou recitest the Pauranic wisdom and somewhere Thou comprehendest the essence of Quran.
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤਾਸਿਉਬਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਨਅਤੀਤਕਹੂੰਸੁਰਗੁਨਸਮੇਤਹੋ॥੨॥੧੨॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਵੇਦ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ (ਰੀਤ) ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਉਲਟ ਹੈਂ। ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁਕਤ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥੧੨॥

ਕਹੂੰਦੇਵਤਾਨਕੇਦਿਵਾਨਮੈਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨਕਹੂੰਦਾਨਵਾਨਕੋਗੁਮਾਨਮਤਦੇਤਹੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ (ਦੀਵਾਨ) ਵਿਚ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
O Lord! Somewhere Thou art seated in the Court of gods and somewhere Thou givest the egoistic intellect to demons.
ਕਹੂੰਇੰਦ੍ਰਰਾਜਾਕੋਮਿਲਤਇੰਦ੍ਰਪਦਵੀਸੀਕਹੂੰਇੰਦ੍ਰਪਦਵੀਛਿਪਾਇਛੀਨਲੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੰਦਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਦਰਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਇੰਦਰ-ਪਦ ਖੋਹ ਕੇ ਲੁਕਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou Bestowest the position of of the king of gods to Indra and somewhere Thou deprivest Indra of this position.
ਕਤਹੂੰਬਿਚਾਰਅਬਿਚਾਰਕੋਬਿਚਾਰਤਹੋਕਹੂੰਨਿਜਨਾਰਪਰਨਾਰਕੇਨਿਕੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੁਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਿਜ-ਨਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਪਰ-ਨਾਰੀ ਦੇ (ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ) ਕੇਂਦਰ (ਘਰ) ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou discriminatest between good and bad intellect, somewhere Thou art with Thy own spouse and somewhere with another's wife.
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤਾਸਿਉਬਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਨਅਤੀਤਕਹੂੰਸੁਰਗੁਨਸਮੇਤਹੋ॥੩॥੧੩॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ (ਮਰਯਾਦਾ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਲਟ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁਕਤ ਹੋ ॥੩॥੧੩॥

ਕਹੂੰਸਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਬਿਦਿਆਕੇਬਿਚਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਮਾਰਤਅਹਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਨਾਰਕੇਨਿਕੇਤਹੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ (ਯੋਧਾ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਵਿਦਵਾਨ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਪੌਣ (ਮਾਰਤ) ਦਾ ਆਹਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸ਼ਿਵ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਜਲ (ਨਾਰ) ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ-ਨਾਰਾਇਣ) ਹੋ।
O Lord! Somewhere Thou art an armed warrior, somewhere Thou art an armed warrior, somewhere a learned thinker, somewhere a hunter and somewhere an enjoyer of women.
ਕਹੂੰਦੇਵਬਾਨੀਕਹੂੰਸਾਰਦਾਭਵਾਨੀਕਹੂੰਮੰਗਲਾਮਿੜਾਨੀਕਹੂੰਸਿਆਮਕਹੂੰਸੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਵ ਬਾਣੀ (ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਬਾਣੀ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਸਰਸਵਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵਾ (ਮ੍ਰਿੜਾਨੀ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਾਲੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਫ਼ੈਦ ਵਰਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art the divine speech, somewhere Sarada and Bhavani, somewhere Durga, the trampler of corpses, somewhere in black colour and somewhere in white colour.
ਕਹੂੰਧਰਮਧਾਮੀਕਹੂੰਸਰਬਠਉਰਗਾਮੀਕਹੂੰਜਤੀਕਹੂੰਕਾਮੀਕਹੂੰਦੇਤਕਹੂੰਲੇਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਧਰਮ-ਧਾਮ (ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸਰਬ ਵਿਆਪੀ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਜਤ-ਸਤ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਕਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਖੁਸ਼ (ਉਲਾਸੀ) ਹੋ; ਕਿਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art abode of Dharma (righteousness), somewhere All-Pervading, somewhere a celibate, somewhere a lustful person, somewhere a donor and somewhere a taker.
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤਾਸਿਉਬਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਨਅਤੀਤਕਹੂੰਸੁਰਗੁਨਸਮੇਤਹੋ॥੪॥੧੪॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਦ-ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਲਟ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ (ਰਜੋ, ਸਤੋ, ਤਮੋ) ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਇੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਹੋ ॥੪॥੧੪॥

ਕਹੂੰਜਟਾਧਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਕੰਠੀਧਰੇਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਜੋਗਸਾਧੀਕਹੂੰਸਾਧਨਾਕਰਤਹੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਟਾਧਾਰੀ (ਸਾਧੂ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਠੀ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ (ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦੀ ਸਾਧੂ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਜੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ (ਜੋਗ) ਸਾਧਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
O Lord! Somewhere Thou art a sage wearing matted hair, somewhere Thu art a rosary-wearing celibate, somewhere Thou art a rosary-wearing celibate, somewhere Thou hast practiced Yoga and somewhere Thou art practicing Yoga.
ਕਹੂੰਕਾਨਫਾਰੇਕਹੂੰਡੰਡੀਹੁਇਪਧਾਰੇਕਹੂੰਫੂਕਫੂਕਪਾਵਨਕਉਪ੍ਰਿਥੀਪੈਧਰਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੰਨ ਪਾਟੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਡੰਡਾਧਾਰੀ (ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ) ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਫੂਕ ਫੂਕ ਕੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਧਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਜੈਨ ਸਾਧੂ) ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art a Kanphata Yougi and somewhere Thou roamest like a Dandi saint, somewhere Thou steppest on the earth very cautiously.
ਕਤਹੂੰਸਿਪਾਹੀਹੁਇਕੈਸਾਧਤਸਿਲਾਹਨਕੌਕਹੂੰਛਤ੍ਰੀਹੁਇਕੈਅਰਮਾਰਤਮਰਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ('ਸਿਲਾਹਨ') ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ (ਯੋਧਾ) ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹੋ।
Somewhere becoming a soldier, Thou practisest arms and somewhere becoming a kshatriya, Thou slayest the enemy or be slayed Thyself.
ਕਹੂੰਭੂਮਭਾਰਕੌਉਤਾਰਤਹੋਮਹਾਰਾਜਕਹੂੰਭਵਭੂਤਨਕੀਭਾਵਨਾਭਰਤਹੋ॥੫॥੧੫॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਪਰੋਂ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ॥੫॥੧੫॥
Somewhere Thou removest the burden of the earth, O Supreme Sovereign! And somewhere Thou the wishes of the worldly beings. 5.15.
ਕਹੂੰਗੀਤਨਾਦਕੇਨਿਦਾਨਕੌਬਤਾਵਤਹੋਕਹੂੰਨ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਰੀਚਿਤ੍ਰਕਾਰੀਕੇਨਿਧਾਨਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਦ ਦੇ ਢੰਗਾਂ ('ਨਿਦਾਨ') ਨੂੰ ਦਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਾਚ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਤਰਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੋ।
O Lord! Somewhere Thou elucidatest the traits of song and sound and somewhere Thou art the treasure of dancing and painting.
ਕਤਹੂੰਪਯੂਖਹੁਇਕੈਪੀਵਤਪਿਵਾਵਤਹੋਕਤਹੂੰਮਯੂਖਊਖਕਹੂੰਮਦਪਾਨਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਅਥਵਾ ਸੋਮ ਰਸ ('ਪਯੂਖ') ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪੀਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਲਾਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਾਖੀਉਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਗੰਨੇ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮਦਿਰਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art ambrosia which Thou drinkest and causest to drink, somewhere Thou art honey and sugarcane juice and somewhere Thou seemest intoxicated with wine.
ਕਹੂੰਮਹਾਸੂਰਹੁਇਕੈਮਾਰਤਮਵਾਸਨਕੌਕਹੂੰਮਹਾਦੇਵਦੇਵਤਾਨਕੇਸਮਾਨਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਬਾਗ਼ੀਆਂ ('ਮਵਾਸਨ') ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਮਹਾ ਦੇਵ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋ।
Somewhere, becoming a great warrior Thou slayeth the enemies and somewhere Thou art like the chief gods.
ਕਹੂੰਮਹਾਦੀਨਕਹੂੰਦ੍ਰਬਕੇਅਧੀਨਕਹੂੰਬਿਦਿਆਮੈਪ੍ਰਬੀਨਕਹੂੰਭੂਮਕਹੂੰਭਾਨਹੋ॥੬॥੧੬॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਤਿ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਧਨਾਢ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਹੋ ॥੬॥੧੬॥
Somewhere thou art very humble, somewhere Thou art full of ego, somewhere Thou art an adept in learning, somewhere Thou art earth and somewhere Thou art the sun. 6.16.
ਕਹੂੰਅਕਲੰਕਕਹੂੰਮਾਰਤਮਯੰਕਕਹੂੰਪੂਰਨਪ੍ਰਜੰਕਕਹੂੰਸੁੱਧਤਾਕੀਸਾਰਹੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਕਲੰਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ('ਮਯੰਕ') ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਕਲੰਕਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੋਤਮ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਪਲੰਘ ਵਾਲੇ (ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਰ-ਤੱਤ੍ਵ ਹੋ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸੁਖ ਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੋ)
O Lord! Somewhere Thou art without any blemish, somewhere Thou smitest the moon, somewhere Thou art completely engrossed in enjoyment on Thy couch and somewhere Thou art the essence of Purity.
ਕਹੂੰਦੇਵਧਰਮਕਹੂੰਸਾਧਨਾਕੇਹਰਮਕਹੂੰਕੁਤਸਤਕੁਕਰਮਕਹੂੰਧਰਮਕੇਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਵ-ਧਰਮੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਵਸੀਲਿਆਂ (ਸਾਧਨਾਂ) ਦੇ ਮਹੱਲ (ਭੰਡਾਰ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਾਯੋਗ ਕੁਕਰਮ (ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਢੰਗ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou performest godly rituals, somewhere Thou art the Abode of religious discipline, somewhere Thou art the vicious actions and somewhere Thou art the vicious actions and somewhere Thou appearest in variety of virtuous acts.
ਕਹੂੰਪਉਨਅਹਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਬਿਦਿਆਕੇਬਿਚਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਜੋਗੀਜਤੀਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀਨਰਕਹੂੰਨਾਰਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਪੌਣ ਦਾ ਆਹਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਵਿਦਵਾਨ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਜੋਗੀ, ਜਤੀ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ, ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਰੀ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou subsistest on air, somewhere Thou art a learned thinker and somewhere Thou art a Yogi, a Celibate, a Brahmchari ( disciplined student), a man and a womean.
ਕਹੂੰਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਛਾਲਾਧਰੇਛੈਲਭਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਛਕਵਾਰੀਕਹੂੰਛਲਕੇਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਹੋ॥੭॥੧੭॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਮ੍ਰਿਗਛਾਲਾ-ਧਾਰੀ (ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਾਲੇ ('ਛਕਵਾਰੀ') ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਛਲ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ॥੭॥੧੭॥
Somewhere Thou art a mighty sovereign, somewhere Thou art a great preceptor sitting on a deer-skin, somewhere Thou art prone to be deceived and somewhere Thou art various types of deception Thyself. 7.17.
ਕਹੂੰਗੀਤਕੇਗਵੱਯਾਕਹੂੰਬੇਨਕੇਬਜੱਯਾਕਹੂੰਨ੍ਰਿਤਕੇਨਚੱਯਾਕਹੂੰਨਰਕੋਅਕਾਰਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਬੰਸਰੀ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਨਾਚ ਦੇ ਨਚਾਰ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ।
O Lord! Somewhere Thou art singer of song somewhere Thou art player of flute, somewhere Thou art a dancer and somewhere in the form of a man.
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਬਾਨੀਕਹੂੰਕੋਕਕੀਕਹਾਨੀਕਹੂੰਰਾਜਾਕਹੂੰਰਾਨੀਕਹੂੰਨਾਰਕੇਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਦ-ਬਾਣੀ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਭੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਬ੍ਰਿੱਤਾਂਤ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਰਾਣੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art the vedic hymns and somewhere the story of the elucidator of the mystery of love; somewhere Thou art Thyself the king, the queen and also various types of woman.
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਨਕੇਬਜੱਯਾਕਹੂੰਧੇਨਕੇਚਰੱਯਾਕਹੂੰਲਾਖਨਲਵੱਯਾਕਹੂੰਸੁੰਦਰਕੁਮਾਰਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਬੰਸਰੀ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਕਿਤੇ ਗਊਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਕਿਤੇ (ਵਿਅਰਥ ਦੀਆਂ) ਤੋਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਗਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art the player of flute, somewhere the grazier of cows and somewhere Thou art the beautiful youth, enticer of lakhs (of lovely maids.)
ਸੁਧਤਾਕੀਸਾਨਹੋਕਿਸੰਤਨਕੇਪ੍ਰਾਨਹੋਕਿਦਾਤਾਮਹਾਦਾਨਹੋਕਿਨ੍ਰਿਦੋਖੀਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਹੋ॥੮॥੧੮॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਵਿਤਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾਨੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਨਿਰਾਕਾਰ ਹੋ ॥੮॥੧੮॥
Somewhere Thou art the splendour of Purity, the life of the saints, the Donor of great charities and the immaculate Formless Lord. 8.18.
ਨਿਰਜੁਰਨਿਰੂਪਹੋਕਿਸੁੰਦਰਸਰੂਪਹੋਕਿਭੂਪਨਕੇਭੂਪਹੋਕਿਦਾਤਾਮਹਾਦਾਨਹੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਿਰੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਅਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾਨੀ ਹੋ।
O Lord! Thou art the Invisible Cataract, the Most Beautiful Entity, the King of Kings and the Donor of great charities.
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਕੇਬਚੱਯਾਦੂਧਪੂਤਕੇਦਿਵੱਯਾਰੋਗਸੋਗਕੇਮਿਟੱਯਾਕਿਧੌਮਾਨੀਮਹਾਮਾਨਹੋ॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਖਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਰੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਹੋ।
Thou art the Saviour of life, the Giver of milk and offspring, the Remover of ailments and sufferings and somewhere Thou art the Lord of Highest Honour.
ਬਿਦਿਆਕੇਬਿਚਾਰਹੋਕਿਅਦ੍ਵੈਅਵਤਾਰਹੋਕਿਸਿੱਧਤਾਕੀਸੂਰਤਿਹੋਕਿਸੁਧਤਾਕੀਸਾਨਹੋ॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ (ਵਿਦਵਾਨ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਅਦ੍ਵੈਤ-ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਮੂਰਤੀ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ ਦਾ ਗੌਰਵ ਹੋ।
Thou art the essence of all learning, the embodiment of monism, the Being of All-Powers and the Glory of Sanctification.
ਜੋਬਨਕੇਜਾਲਹੋਕਿਕਾਲਹੂੰਕੇਕਾਲਹੋਕਿਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੇਸੂਲਹੋਕਿਮਿਤ੍ਰਨਕੇਪ੍ਰਾਨਹੋ॥੯॥੧੯॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ (ਆਕਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਨ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਲ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪੀੜਾਕਾਰੀ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਮਿਤਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ॥੯॥੧੯॥
Thou art the snare of youth, the Death of Death, the anguish of enemies and the life of the friends. 9.19.
ਕਹੂੰਬ੍ਰਹਮਬਾਦਕਹੂੰਬਿਦਿਆਕੋਬਿਖਾਦਕਹੂੰਨਾਦਕੋਨਨਾਦਕਹੂੰਪੂਰਨਭਗਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਚਰਚਾ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਤਰਕ-ਵਿਤਰਕ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਨਾਦ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਹੋ, ਜਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ (ਅਨਹਦ ਨਾਦ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਵਿਚ) ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੀਨ ਭਗਤ ਹੋ।
O Lord! Somewhere Thou art in defic conduct, somewhere Thou appearest as contention in learning somewhere Thou art the tune of sound and somewhere a perfect saint (attuned with celestial strain).
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਬਿਦਿਆਕੀਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਕਹੂੰਨੀਤਅਉਅਨੀਤਕਹੂੰਜੁਆਲਾਸੀਜਗਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਦ-ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਕ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤੀ (ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ) ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਨੀਤੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਅਨੀਤੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art Vedic ritual, somewhere the love for learning, somewhere ethical and unethical, and somewhere appearest as the glow of fire.
ਪੂਰਨਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਕਹੂੰਇਕਾਤੀਕੋਜਾਪਕਹੂੰਤਾਪਕੋਅਤਾਪਕਹੂੰਜੋਗਤੇਡਿਗਤਹੋ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਏਕਾਂਤ-ਵਾਸੀ (ਸਾਧਕ) ਦੇ ਜਾਪ ਹੋ, ਕਿਤੇ ਤਪਸਿਆ (ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ (ਅਤਾਪ) ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਡਿਗਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ।
Somewhere Thou art perfectly Glorious, somewhere engrossed in solitary recitation, somewhere Remover of Suffering in great Agony and somewhere Thou appearest as a fallen yogi.
ਕਹੂੰਬਰਦੇਤਕਹੂੰਛਲਸਿਉਛਿਨਾਇਲੇਤਸਰਬਕਾਲਸਰਬਠਉਰਏਕਸੇਲਗਤਹੋ॥੧੦॥੨੦॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਵਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਤੇ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਖੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ, (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਸਭ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਠਿਕਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਸਮਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ॥੧੦॥੨੦॥
Somewhere Thou bestowest the Boon and somewhere withdraw it with deceit. Thou at all times and at all the places Thou comest into view as the same. 10.20.

ਸ੍ਰਾਵਗਸੁੱਧਸਮੂਹਸਿਧਾਨਕੇਦੇਖਿਫਿਰਿਓਘਰਜੋਗਜਤੀਕੇ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ) ਬੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਜੈਨ ਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼੍ਰਾਵਕਾਂ, ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡੀਆਂ, ਸਿੱਧਾਂ, ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਧਾਂਤਿਕ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ (ਘਰਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਘੋਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ;
I have seen during my tours pure Sravaks (Jaina and Buddhist monks), group of adepts and abodes of ascetics and Yogi.
ਸੂਰਸੁਰਾਰਦਨਸੁੱਧਸੁਧਾਦਿਕਸੰਤਸਮੂਹਅਨੇਕਮਤੀਕੇ॥
ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ, (ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ) ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ (ਸੁਧਾ) ਪਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੰਡਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਤੁਰ ਫਿਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ);
Valiant heroes, demons killing gods, gods drinking nectar and assemblies of saints of various sects.
ਸਾਰੇਹੀਦੇਸਕੋਦੇਖਿਰਹਿਓਮਤਕੋਊਨਦੇਖੀਅਤਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤੀਕੇ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਤ-ਮਤਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜੋ (ਸੱਚੇ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਕਰਤੱਵ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹੋਵੇ)।
I have seen the disciplines of the religious systems of all the countries, but seen none of the Lord, the Master of my life.
ਸ੍ਰੀਭਗਵਾਨਕੀਭਾਇਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਹੂਤੇਏਕਰਤੀਬਿਨੁਏਕਰਤੀਕੇ॥੧॥੨੧॥
(ਸਚ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਮਾਤਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ (ਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਇਕ ਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਤੁੱਛ ਹਨ) ॥੧॥੨੧॥
They are worth nothing without an iota of the Grace of the Lord. 1.21.
ਮਾਤੇਮਤੰਗਜਰੇਜ਼ਰਸੰਗਿਅਨੂਪਉਤੰਗਸੁਰੰਗਸਵਾਰੇ॥
ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ, ਉੱਚੇ ਅਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਧੂਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਵਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਨੂਪਮ ਮਸਤ ਹਾਥੀ ਹੋਣ;
With intoxicated elephants, studded with gold, incomparable and huge, painted in bright colours.
ਕੋਟਿਤੁਰੰਗਕੁਰੰਗਸੇਕੂਦਤਪਉਨਕੇਗਉਨਕਉਜਾਤਨਿਵਾਰੇ॥
ਹਿਰਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਕੁਦਣ ਅਤੇ ਪੌਣ ਦੀ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਿਛੇ ਛੱਡਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਘੋੜੇ ਹੋਣ;
With millions of horses galloping like deer, moving faster than the wind.
ਭਾਰੀਭੁਜਾਨਕੇਭੂਪਭਲੀਬਿਧਿਨਿਆਵਤਸੀਸਨਜਾਤਬਿਚਾਰੇ॥
(ਦੁਆਰ 'ਤੇ ਖੜੇ) ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਣ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ;
With many kings indescribable, having long arms (of heavy allied forces), bowing their heads in fine array.
ਏਤੇਭਏਤੁਕਹਾਭਏਭੂਪਤਿਅੰਤਕੌਨਾਂਗੇਹੀਪਾਂਇਪਧਾਰੇ॥੨॥੨੨॥
ਅਜਿਹੇ (ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੀ) ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਏ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ ਨੰਗੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋਂ) ਜਾਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨੨॥
What matters if such mighty emperors were there, because they had to leave the world with bare feet.2.22.
ਜੀਤਿਫਿਰੈਸਭਦੇਸਦਿਸਾਨਕੌਬਾਜਤਢੋਲਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗਨਗਾਰੇ॥
