ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਹੋਵੈਸਾਧਸੰਗੁਹੋਰਤੁਸੰਗਿਕੁਸੰਗਿਨਰਚੈ।
(ਜੋ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ) ਹੋਰ ਕੁਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ।
The person having attained the status of Gurmukh in the holy congregation does not mix up with any bad company.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੰਥੁਸੁਹੇਲੜਾਬਾਰਹਪੰਥਨਖੇਚਲਖਚੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੰਥ ਸ਼ੋਭਨੀਕ ਹੈ (ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ) ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪੰਥਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਚਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਚਿਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The way (life) of Gurmukh is simple and enjoyable; he does not enrapt himself with the concerns of the twelve sects (of yogis).
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਵਰਨਅਵਰਨਹੋਇਰੰਗਸੁਰੰਗੁਤੰਬੋਲਪਰਚੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਵਰਣ (ਖੱਤ੍ਰੀ, ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ) ਹੋਵੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ (ਅਵਰਣ=) ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤ ਹੋਵੇ (ਉਹ ਤੰਬੋਲ=) ਪਾਨ ਦੇ ਬੀੜੇ ਦੇ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ (ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ=) ਪਰੁੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
Gurmukhs go beyond the castes, colours and go about in equanimity like the red colour of betel leaf.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਦਰਸਨੁਦੇਖਣਾਛਿਅਦਰਸਨਪਰਸਣਨਸਰਚੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਦੇਖਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਛੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਸਣ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸਦੇ।
Gurmukhs behold the Guru's school and put no faith in six Schools (of Indian tradition).
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਿਹਚਲਮਤਿਹੈਦੂਜੈਭਾਇਲੁਭਾਇਨਪਚੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਹੈ, ਦੂਜੇ ਭਾਵ ਦੇ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੜਦੇ।
Gurmukhs have steadfast wisdom and do not waste themselves in the fire of duality.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਬਦੁਕਮਾਵਣਾਪੈਰੀਪੈਰਹਰਾਸਿਨਹਚੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ (ਓਹ) ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਣਾ ਅਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਹ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਥੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਿਚਕਦੇ (ਤਿਲਕਦੇ)।
Gurmukhs practise the (Guru) shabad and never forsake the exercise of touching the feet, i.e.they never abandon humility.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਭਾਇਭਗਤਿਚਹਮਚੈ।੧।
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾਂ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Gurmukhs abound in loving devotion.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਇਕੁਅਰਾਧਣਾਇਕੁਮਨਹੋਇਨਹੋਇਦੁਚਿਤਾ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਇਕ ਮਨ ਹੋਕੇ ਇਕ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਅਰਾਧਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦੋ ਦਿਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ।
The Gurmukhs single-mindedly adore the Lord and do not remain in dubiety.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਆਜੀਵਨੁਮੁਕਤਿਨਤਾਮਸਪਿਤਾ।
ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਗੁਵਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਤਾ (ਦਿਲ) ਤਮੋਂ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
By leaving away ego they become liberated and do not allow the darkness (ignorance) to reside in their heart.
ਗੁਰਉਪਦੇਸੁਅਵੇਸੁਕਰਿਸਣੁਦੂਤਾਵਿਖੜਾਗੜੁਜਿਤਾ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਣੇ (ਪੰਜ) ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਠਨ ਗੜ੍ਹ (ਦੇਹਾਭਿਮਾਨ) ਜਿੱਤ ਲੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Wrapt in the teachings of the Guru, they conquer the fort (of body) including the five evils.
ਪੈਰੀਪੈਪਾਖਾਕੁਹੋਇਪਾਹੁਨੜਾਜਗਿਹੋਇਅਥਿਤਾ।
ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਕੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਹੋਕੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ (ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ) ਜਗ ਦੇ (ਅਥਿੱਤਾ=) ਪੂਜਨਕੀ ਹਨ।
They fall at the feet, become like dust (i.e.lowly), consider themselves as guests in the world and are respected by the world.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੇਵਾਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਗੁਰਸਿਖਮਾਪਿਉਭਾਈਮਿਤਾ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਲੋਕ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ, ਅਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਤੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ (ਮੰਨਦੇ) ਹਨ।
Gurmukhs serve the Sikhs considering them their parents, brothers and friends.
ਦੁਰਮਤਿਦੁਬਿਧਾਦੂਰਿਕਰਿਗੁਰਮਤਿਸਬਦਸੁਰਤਿਮਨੁਸਿਤਾ।
ਦੁਰਮਤ ਤੇ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ; ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਗਯਾਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਨ ਸੀਉਂ ਛਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
Having given up illwill and dubiousness, they merge their consciousness in the Word and teachings of Guru.
ਛਡਿਕੁਫਕੜੁਕੂੜੁਕੁਧਿਤਾ।੨।
ਖੋਟਾ ਕੰਮ ਅਰ ਕੂੜੀਆਂ ਹੁੱਜਤਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਕੁਬੁਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
They set aside frivolous argument, falsehood and bad deeds.
ਅਪਣੇਅਪਣੇਵਰਨਵਿਚਿਚਾਰਿਵਰਨਕੁਲਧਰਮਧਰੰਦੇ।
ਚਾਰ ਵਰਣ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਪਣੇ ਅਪਣੇ ਵਰਨ (ਖਤ੍ਰੀ, ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਸੂਦ੍ਰ, ਵੈਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਲਾਚਾਰੀ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
In their own varnas all the people (of the four varnas) observe the tradition of their caste and tribe.
ਛਿਅਦਰਸਨਛਿਅਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਗੁਰਗੁਰਮਤਿਖਟੁਕਰਮਕਰੰਦੇ।
ਛੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਣਾਂ; ਛੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਖੋ ਵੱਖ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਤ ਲੈਕੇ ਖਟ ਕਰਮ (ਜਪ ੧, ਹੋਮ ੨, ਸੰਧ੍ਯਾ੩, ਸ਼ਨਾਨ, ੪ ਅਤਿ ਪੂਜਾ ੫, ਦੇਵ ਅਰਚਾ ੬ ਨੂੰ) ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The believers in the books of the six schools perform six duties according to the wisdom of their respective spiritual mentors.
ਅਪਣੇਅਪਣੇਸਾਹਿਬੈਚਾਕਰਜਾਇਜੁਹਾਰਜੁੜੰਦੇ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਅੱਗੇ ਚਾਕਰ ਜਾਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ।
Servants go and salute their masters.
ਅਪਣੇਅਪਣੇਵਣਜਵਿਚਿਵਾਪਾਰੀਵਾਪਾਰਮਚੰਦੇ।
ਵਪਾਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Merchants deal profusely in their own special merchandise.
ਅਪਣੇਅਪਣੇਖੇਤਵਿਚਿਬੀਉਸਭੈਕਿਰਸਾਣਿਬੀਜੰਦੇ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਿਸਾਣ ਬੀ ਬੀਜਦੇ ਹਨ।
All the farmers sow different seeds in their different fields.
ਕਾਰੀਗਰਿਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਕਾਰਿਖਾਨੇਵਿਚਿਜਾਇਮਿਲੰਦੇ।
ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਂ ਕਾਰਖਾਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
Mechanics meet their fellow mechanics in the workshop.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਗੁਰਸਿਖਪੁਜੰਦੇ।੩।
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਦੇ ਹਨ।
Similarly, the Sikhs of Guru, associate themselves with the company of the holy persons.
ਅਮਲੀਰਚਨਿਅਮਲੀਆਸੋਫੀਸੋਫੀਮੇਲੁਕਰੰਦੇ।
ਨਸ਼ਈ ਨਸ਼ਈਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਚਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੂਫੀ ਸੂਫੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The addicts mix-up with addicts and abstainers with the abstainers.
ਜੂਆਰੀਜੂਆਰੀਆਵੇਕਰਮੀਵੇਕਰਮਰਚੰਦੇ।
ਜੁਆਰੀਏ ਜੁਆਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ (ਹੋਰ) ਖੋਟੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੋਟੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The gamblers mix up with gamblers and scounderls with scounderls.
ਚੋਰਾਚੋਰਾਪਿਰਹੜੀਠਗਠਗਮਿਲਿਦੇਸਠਗੰਦੇ।
ਚੋਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ, ਠੱਗ ਠੱਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਠਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
The love abounds among the theives and the cheats who getting together, dupe the country.
ਮਸਕਰਿਆਮਿਲਿਮਸਕਰੇਚੁਗਲਾਚੁਗਲਉਮਾਹਿਮਿਲੰਦੇ।
ਮਸਖਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਸਖ਼ਰੇ ਮਿਲਦੇ (ਤੇ) ਚੁਗਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਗਲ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
Jesters meet jesters enthusiastically and so do the backbiters.
ਮਨਤਾਰੂਮਨਤਾਰੂਆਂਤਾਰੂਤਾਰੂਤਾਰਤਰੰਦੇ।
ਅਨਤਾਰੂ ਅਨਤਾਰੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਤਾਰੂ ਤਾਰੂ (ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਕੇ) ਤਰਦੇ ਤਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Unknown to swimming meet similar persons and swimmers by meeting swimmers go and get across.
ਦੁਖਿਆਰੇਦੁਖਿਆਰਿਆਂਮਿਲਿਮਿਲਿਅਪਣੇਦੁਖਰੁਵੰਦੇ।
ਦੁਖੀਏ ਦੁਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਂਵਦੇ ਹਨ।
The afflicted meet the afflicted ones and share their sufferings.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਗੁਰਸਿਖੁਵਸੰਦੇ।੪।
(ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਖ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
Likewise, the Sikhs of the Guru feel pleasure in the holy congregation.
ਕੋਈਪੰਡਿਤੁਜੋਤਿਕੀਕੋਪਾਧਾਕੋਵੈਦੁਸਦਾਏ।
ਕੋਈ ਪੰਡਤ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਜੋਤਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਪਾਂਧਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਵੈਦ ਸਦਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Someone is called pandit, someone astrologer, someone priest and some physician.
ਕੋਈਰਾਜਾਰਾਉਕੋਕੋਮਹਤਾਚਉਧਰੀਅਖਾਏ।
ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਰਾਉ (ਛੋਟਾ ਰਾਜਾ) ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਮਹਿਤਾ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਅਖਾਂਵਦਾ ਹੈ।
Someone is called the king, satrap, headman and chaudhary.
ਕੋਈਬਜਾਜੁਸਰਾਫੁਕੋਕੋਜਉਹਰੀਜੜਾਉਜੜਾਏ।
ਕੋਈ ਬਜਾਜ, ਕੋਈ ਸਰਾਫ, ਕੋਈ ਜੌਹਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਜੜਤ ਜੜਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Someone is draper, someone is called goldsmith and someone a jeweller.
ਪਾਸਾਰੀਪਰਚੂਨੀਆਕੋਈਦਲਾਲੀਕਿਰਸਿਕਮਾਏ।
ਕੋਈ ਪਸਾਰੀ, ਕੋਈ ਪਰਚੂਨੀਏਂ, ਕੋਈ ਦਲਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਸ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Someone is earning through being druggist, retailer and an agent.
ਜਾਤਿਸਨਾਤਸਹੰਸਲਖਕਿਰਤਿਵਿਰਤਿਕਰਿਨਾਉਗਣਾਏ।
ਜਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਜਾਤ, ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਕਿਰਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੰਮ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਕੈ ਅੱਡੋ ਅਡ) ਨਾਮ ਗਿਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
(So called) Low born are millions whose names explain their professions.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਗੁਰਸਿਖਿਮਿਲਿਆਸਾਵਿਚਿਨਿਰਾਸੁਵਲਾਏ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਆਸਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਰਹਿਕੇ (ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ) ਦਿਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Sikh of the Guru, being in the holy congregation, while living in joys remains indifferent to desires.
ਸਬਦੁਸੁਰਤਿਲਿਵਅਲਖੁਲਖਾਏ।੫।
ਅਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਕੇ ਅਲਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਲਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
He by merging his consciousness in the Word (sabad) beholds the Supreme Lord.
ਜਤੀਸਤੀਚਿਰੁਜੀਵਣੇਸਾਧਿਕਸਿਧਨਾਥਗੁਰਚੇਲੇ।
ਜਤੀ, ਸਤੀ, ਚਿਰਜੀਵਣੇ, ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਿੱਧ ਨਾਥ, ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਚੇਲੇ।
Many are the celebates, the abiders of truth, the immortal ones, the siddhs, nathas, and the teachers and the taughts.
ਦੇਵੀਦੇਵਰਿਖੀਸੁਰਾਭੈਰਉਖੇਤ੍ਰਪਾਲਬਹੁਮੇਲੇ।
ਦੇਵੀ, ਦੇਵ, ਰਿਖੀ, ਭੈਰਉਂ, ਖੇਤ੍ਰਪਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ (ਸਮੂਹ)।
Many are the goodesses, gods, rsis, bhairavs and the protectors of the regions.
ਗਣਗੰਧਰਬਅਪਛਰਾਕਿੰਨਰਜਛਚਲਿਤਬਹੁਖੇਲੇ।
ਗੰਧਰਬ (ਸਵਰਗੀ ਰਾਗੀਆਂ) ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ, ਅਪੱਛਰਾਂ, ਕਿੰਨਰ, ਜੱਛ (ਦੇਵਤੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਚਲਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ।
Many are the gans (ghosts), gandharvs (celestial singers), nymphs, and kinnars who perform differently.
ਰਾਖਸਦਾਨੋਂਦੈਤਲਖਅੰਦਰਿਦੂਜਾਭਾਉਦੁਹੇਲੇ।
ਰਾਖਸ਼, ਦਾਨਵ, ਲੱਖਾਂ ਦੈਂਤ, ਦੂਜੇ ਭਾਵ ਵਿਖੇ (ਸਭ) ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ।
Imbued with duality, many are the raksasas, the demons and the giants.
ਹਉਮੈਅੰਦਰਿਸਭਕੋਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਰਸਕੇਲੇ।
ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਨ।
All are controlled by the ego and the Gurmukhs take pleasure in the holy congregation.
ਇਕਮਨਇਕੁਅਰਾਧਣਾਗੁਰਮਤਿਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਸੁਹੇਲੇ।
(ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ) ਇਕ ਮਨ ਹੋਕੇ ਇਕ (ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ) ਦੀ ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਗੁਵਾਕੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
There they, accepting the Guru's wisdom, shed away their selfhood.
ਚਲਣੁਜਾਣਿਪਏਸਿਰਿਤੇਲੇ।੬।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ (ਚਲਣਾ=) ਮਰਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਛਡਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਹੋ ਤੇਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿੱਕੁਰ ਮਾਈਂਏਂ ਪਈ ਤੇਲ ਚੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੁੜੀ ਇਹੋ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੁਣੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਚਲਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ)।

ਇਕ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ) ਇਕ ਮਨ ਹੋਕੇ ਓਹ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਹੋਰ ਸ਼ਗਨਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਝੂਠੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸਦੇ)।

ਜੋਧਿਆਂ' ਤੇ ਕੁਲ ਦੇ 'ਜਠੇਰਿਆਂ' (ਵਡਕਿਆਂ) ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਉਕਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ (ਸਉਕਣ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਨਵੀਂ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਰ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਫਲ ਸੌਂਕਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਉਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੁਰਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ), ਕਈ ਟੋਭੜੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਟੋਇਆਂ (ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਤਪਰਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਬਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹਾਉਂ
Deluded by them people worship departed heroes, ancestors, satis, deceased co-wives, tanks and pits, but all this is of no avail.

ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਖਿਦਮਤਗਾਰ ਵਡਿਆਈਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਣਹਾਰੇ) ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਖੁਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਯਾ-ਏਥੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਖੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
The (true) servants of the kings earn applause but the defiants get humiliated in the court.
ਅੱਗੈਢੋਈਸੇਲਹਨਿਸੇਵਾਅੰਦਰਿਕਾਰਕੁਸਾਦੇ।
ਅਗੇ ਆਸ਼੍ਰਯ ਉਹ ਲੈਣਗੇ, ਜੋ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਵਿਚ (ਕੁਸ਼ਾਦੀ=) ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੀ (ਚੰਗੀ) ਕਾਰ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
In the court (of the Lord) only they get shelter who remain rapt (in the service).
ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾਂਪਤਿਸਾਹੁਸੋਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਵਰਤੈਗੁਰਪਰਸਾਦੇ।
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਹਨ ਓਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਨ।
With grace of the Lord, such gurmukhs become king of kings.
ਸਾਹਸੁਹੇਲੇਆਦਿਜੁਗਾਦੇ।੧੧।
(ਓਹ) 'ਸ਼ਾਹ' ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।
Only such people ever remain happy and contented.
ਤਾਰੇਲਖਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਵਿਚਿਚੜ੍ਹਿਐਸੁਝਿਨਸੁਝੈਕੋਈ।
ਲਖਾਂ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ (ਚਮਕਦੇ ਹਨ) ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਸਦਾ।
Myraid stars exist in the darkness but with the rise of the sun no one remains visible.
ਸੀਹਿਬੁਕੇਮਿਰਗਾਵਲੀਭੰਨੀਜਾਇਨਆਇਖੜੋਈ।
ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਗਰਜਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਤਾਰ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਹੀਂ ਖੜੋਂਦੀ।
Before the roar of the lion, flocks of deers take to their heels.
ਬਿਸੀਅਰਗਰੜੈਡਿਠਿਆਖੁਡੀਵੜਿਦੇਲਖਪਲੋਈ।
ਗਰੜ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਕੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਸੱਪ ਖੁਡਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਨੱਸਕੇ ਵੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Seeing the large vulture (garur) the snakes crawl into their holes.
ਪੰਖੇਰੂਸਾਹਬਾਜਦੇਖਿਢੁਕਿਨਹੰਘਨਿਮਿਲੈਨਢੋਈ।
ਪੰਛੀ ਬਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁੱਕਦੇ (ਐਨਾਂ ਨੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਲੁਕਣ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਧਰੇ) ਢੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।
Seeing a hawk, the birds fly helter skelter and do not find place to hide.
ਚਾਰਵੀਚਾਰਸੰਸਾਰਵਿਚਿਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਮਿਲਿਦੁਰਮਤਿਖੋਈ।
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ (ਇਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ (ਉਥੇ) ਦੁਰਮਤ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In this world of conduct and thought, in the holy congregation one gives up evil-mindedness.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਸਚਾਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁਦੁਬਿਧਾਮਾਰਿਮਵਾਸਾਗੋਈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਨ, ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤਦ) ਆਕੀ (ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਆਦਿ ਆਪੇ) ਨੱਸ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The true Guru is the true king who obliterates dilemma, and, evil propensities hide or vanish.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਾਤਾਜਾਣੁਜਣੋਈ।੧੨।
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ (ਓਹ ਆਪ) ਜਾਣਕੇ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਜਣਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Gurmukhs diffuse their knowledge among others (and they are not selfish people).
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਸਚਾਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਗਾਡੀਰਾਹੁਚਲਾਇਆ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਚੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The true Guru, the real emperor has put the Guru-oriented (gurmukh) on the high road ( of liberation).
ਪੰਜਿਦੂਤਿਕਰਿਭੂਤਵਸਿਦੁਰਮਤਿਦੂਜਾਭਾਉਮਿਟਾਇਆ।
(ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਪੰਜ ਦੂਤ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਭੂਤ ਵਾਂਙੂ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖੋਟੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
He restrains the deadly sins, the five evil inclinations and the sense of duality.
ਸਬਦਸੁਰਤਿਲਿਵਿਚਲਣਾਜਮੁਜਾਗਾਤੀਨੇੜਿਨਆਇਆ।
(ਅਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸਬਦ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਮ ਮਹਸੂਲੀਆ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
Gurmukhs spend their lives while keeping their heart and mind attuned with the sabda (word) and therefore death, the tax-gatherer does not approach them.
ਬੇਮੁਖਿਬਾਰਹਵਾਟਕਰਿਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਸਚੁਖੰਡੁਵਸਾਇਆ।
ਬੇਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪੰਥਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ (ਕੰਨ ਪੜਾਈ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਜੋ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ) ਸਚਖੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The Guru had dispersed the apostates into the twelve sects (of the yogis), and seated the holy congregation of the saints in the domain of Truth (the sachkhand).
ਭਾਉਭਗਤਿਭਉਮੰਤ੍ਰੁਦੇਨਾਮੁਦਾਨੁਇਸਨਾਨੁਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ।
(ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਦਾ) ਭਉ, ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਰ ਦੇਕੇ (ਉਸਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ) ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨ ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
By the spell of the Nam, the gurumukhs have inculcated love, devotion, fear, charity and ablutions.
ਜਿਉਜਲਅੰਦਰਿਕਮਲਹੈਮਾਇਆਵਿਚਿਉਦਾਸੁਰਹਾਇਆ।
(ਓਹ) ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਖੇ ਐਉਂ ਅਲਿਪਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿੱਕੂੰ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਕਵਲ ਹੈ।
The gurmukhs keep themselves unaffected by the evils of the world as the lotus remains unwet in water.
ਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਨਆਪੁਗਣਾਇਆ।੧੩।
(ਅਤੇ) ਨਿਰਹੰਕਾਰ ਹੋਕੇ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ) ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਣਾਇਆ (ਤਿਲਾਂਜਲੀ ਦੇ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੈ)।
Gurmukhs efface their individuality and do not pose to assert themselves.
ਰਾਜਾਪਰਜਾਹੋਇਕੈਚਾਕਰਕੂਕਰਦੇਸਿਦੁਹਾਈ।
(ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ) ਰਾਜਾ ਪਰਜਾ ਹੋਕੇ (ਵਰਤਦੀ ਹੈ; ਰਾਜਾ ਦੇ) ਨੌਕਰ ਕੁਟਵਾਲ (ਉਸਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ) ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਫੇਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
By becoming subject of a king, people as servants go around the countries to abide orders.
ਜੰਮਦਿਆਰੁਣਿਝੁੰਝਣਾਨਾਨਕਦਾਦਕਹੋਇਵਧਾਈ।
(ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ) ਜੰਮਣੇ ਪੁਰ ਅਨੰਦ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕੇ ਦਾਦਕੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਹੁੰਈ ਹੈ।
On the birth of a child felicitatory songs are sung in the houses of the maternal and paternal grandfathers.
ਵੀਵਾਹਾਨੋਸਿਠਣੀਆਦੁਹੀਵਲੀਦੁਇਤੂਰਵਜਾਈ।
ਵਿਵਾਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਸਿੱਠਣੀਆਂ ਮਿਲਦੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੁਵੱਲੀ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ।
On marriage occasions the songs are sung by woman in scurrilous language and trumpets are played on the part of the bride and bridegroom (but not so among the gurmukhs).
ਰੋਵਣੁਪਿਟਣੁਮੁਇਆਨੋਵੈਣੁਅਲਾਹਣਿਧੁਮਧੁਮਾਈ।
ਮੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਣਾ ਪਿੱਟਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵੈਣਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਲਾਹਣੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਧੁੰਮ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Weepings and wailings are there for the dead;
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਸਚੁਸੋਹਿਲਾਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਲਿਵਲਾਈ।
(ਪਰ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਸੱਚ ਅਨੰਦ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
But the gurmukhs (the Guru-oriented) recite the Sohila in the company of the saints on such occasions.
ਬੇਦਕਤੇਬਹੁਬਾਹਰਾਜੰਮਣਿਮਰਣਿਅਲਿਪਤੁਰਹਾਈ।
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਆਤਮਾ ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ, ਅਰ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਅਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਅ) (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਾਰਗ) ਵੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਹੈ, ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ (ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੋਂ) ਅਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Sikh (gurmukh) goes beyond the holy books of the Hindus and Muslims i.e. the Vedas and the Katebas, and neither rejoices at a birth nor mourns at a death.
ਆਸਾਵਿਚਿਨਿਰਾਸੁਵਲਾਈ।੧੪।
(ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਾਰਗ) ਆਸਾ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the midst of desires he remains free from them.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੰਥੁਸੁਹੇਲੜਾਮਨਮੁਖਬਾਰਹਵਾਟਫਿਰੰਦੇ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ (ਦਾ ਵਾਸ ਅਪਣੇ) ਸੁਹੇਲੜੇ ਪੰਥ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਪਰ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬਹੁਤ ਰਸਤਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Guru-oriented move upon the simple and straight way and the mind- oriented (manmukh) go astray on twelve ways (the twelve sects of the Yogis).
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਰਿਲੰਘਾਇਦਾਮਨਮੁਖਭਵਜਲਵਿਚਿਡੁਬੰਦੇ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜੱਗ੍ਯਾਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਉਜਲ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁਬ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The gurmukhs get across whereas the manmukhs get drowned in the world-ocean.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜੀਵਨਮੁਕਤਿਕਰਿਮਨਮੁਖਫਿਰਿਫਿਰਿਜਨਮਿਮਰੰਦੇ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨਮੁਖ ਫੇਰ ਫੇਰ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The life of gurmukh is the sacred tank of liberation and the manmukhs go on transmigrating and suffering the pangs of life and death.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੁਖਫਲੁਪਾਇਦੇਮਨਮੁਖਿਦੁਖਫਲੁਦੁਖਲਹੰਦੇ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸੁਖ (ਰੂਪ) ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਨਮੁਖ (ਅਪਣੀ) ਦੁਖ (ਰੂਪ ਕਰਨੀ) ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

(ਕ੍ਯੋਂਕਿ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਾ ਗੁਆ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੈ), ਮਨਮੁਖ ਹਊੂਮੈ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦੇ ਹਨ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਆਪਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਗੁਆਇਆ)।
The gurmukh forsakes ego whereas manmukh burns himself continuously in the fire of egotism.
ਬੰਦੀਅੰਦਰਿਵਿਰਲੇਬੰਦੇ।੧੫।
ਬੰਦੀ (ਮਾਯਾ) ਵਿਚ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Rare are the people who though being in the limits (of maya) yet remain immersed in His meditation.
ਪੇਵਕੜੈਘਰਿਲਾਡੁਲੀਮਾਊਪੀਊਖਰੀਪਿਆਰੀ।
ਪੇਕੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ (ਲਾਡਲੀ=) ਪਿਆਰੀ (ਅਰ) ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਬੀ ਖਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਰੂਪ ਸੁਹਾਗਣ ਇਸਤ੍ਰ੍ਰੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਭੀ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਉੁਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।
In her mother's home the girl is fondled and dearly loved by parents.
ਵਿਚਿਭਿਰਾਵਾਂਭੈਨੜੀਨਾਨਕਦਾਦਕਸਪਰਵਾਰੀ।
(ਗਯਾਨ ਵੈਰਾਗ ਰੂਪੁ) ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਭੈਣ, ਨਾਨਕੇ (ਸ਼ਰਧਾ) ਦਾਦਕੇ (ਅੱਭ੍ਯਾਸ) ਪਰਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਥ।
Among the brothers she is a sister and lives joyfully in the full fledged families of the maternal and the paternal grand fathers.
ਲਖਾਂਖਰਚਵਿਆਹੀਐਗਹਣੇਦਾਜੁਸਾਜੁਅਤਿਭਾਰੀ।
ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚਕੇ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਅਰ ਦਾਜ ਦੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੇ।
Then offering ornaments and dowry etc. and by spending lacs of rupees she is married.
ਸਾਹੁਰੜੈਘਰਿਮੰਨੀਐਸਣਖਤੀਪਰਵਾਰਸਧਾਰੀ।
ਸਾਹੁਰੜੇ ਘਰ (ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ) ਵਿਖੇ ਮੰਨੀਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਸੱਸ ਸੌਹਰਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਰਵਾਰ ਨੁੰ ਸੁਧਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਪੇਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਵਡੇ ਕੁਲ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹੈ)।
In her father-in-law's house she is accepted as title married wife.
ਸੁਖਮਾਣੈਪਿਰੁਸੇਜੜੀਛਤੀਹਭੋਜਨਸਦਾਸੀਗਾਰੀ।
(ਪਿਰ=) ਭਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਜਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਛੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਭੋਜਨ (ਅਰ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਕਪੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ) ਸਦਾ ਸੋਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
She enjoys with her husband, eats variety of foods and always remains bedecked.
ਲੋਕਵੇਦਗੁਣੁਗਿਆਨਵਿਚਿਅਰਧਸਰੀਰੀਮੋਖਦੁਆਰੀ।
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ (ਗੁਣ) ਵੀਚਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਰ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ, ਅਰਧ ਸਰੀਰੀ (=ਇਸਤ੍ਰ੍ਰੀ) ਮੁਕਤ ਦਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੈ। (ਅ) ਲੋਕ, ਵੇਦ ਤੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਇਸਤ੍ਰ੍ਰੀ) ਅਰਧ ਸਰੀਰੀ ਹੈ, ਅਰ ਮੁਕਤ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ।
From a temporal and spiritual point of view, women is half man's body and assists to the door of deliverance.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਹੀ) ਨਿਹਚਉ ਨਾਰੀ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਇਸਤ੍ਰ੍ਰੀ) ਹੈ, (ਓਹੀ) (ਸੁਖ ਫਲ) ਆਤਮ ਫਲ (ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਣ ਦੀ ਸੇਜਾ ਪੁਰ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ)।
She assuredly brings happiness to the virtuous.
ਜਿਉਬਹੁਮਿਤੀਵੇਸੁਆਸਭਿਕੁਲਖਣਪਾਪਕਮਾਵੈ।
ਜਿਕੂੰ ਬਾਹਲੇ ਯਾਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਵੇਸ਼ਵਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੋਟੇ ਲੱਛਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
A prostitute having many lovers commits every species of sin.
ਲੋਕਹੁਦੇਸਹੁਬਾਹਰੀਤਿਹੁਪਖਾਂਨੋਅਉਲੰਗੁਲਾਵੈ।
ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰੀਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ, ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਪੱਖਾਂ (ਨਾਨਕੇ, ਦਾਦਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੁਰਿਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਕਲੰਕ ਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
An outcast from her people and her country, she brings disgrace on all the three sides, i.e. her father's mother's and the family of father-in-law.
ਡੁਬੀਡੋਬੈਹੋਰਨਾਮਹੁਰਾਮਿਠਾਹੋਇਪਚਾਵੈ।
(ਆਪ ਤਾਂ) ਡੁੱਬੀ ਹੈ (ਪਰੰਤੂ) ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਹੁਰੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਹੁ) ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਚਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Ruined herself, she ruines others and still goes on gulping and digesting poison.
ਘੰਡਾਹੇੜਾਮਿਰਗਜਿਉਦੀਪਕਹੋਇਪਤੰਗਜਲਾਵੈ।
ਘੰਡੇ ਹੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਵਾਂਙ (ਅਰ) ਦੀਵੇ ਦੇ ਭੰਭਟ ਵਾਂਙੂੰ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣੇ ਰੂਪ ਤੇ ਫਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਤੇ) ਸਾੜਦੀ ਹੈ।
She is like the musical pipe which lures the deer, or lamp which burns the moth.
ਦੁਹੀਸਰਾਈਜਰਦਰੂਪਥਰਬੇੜੀਪੂਰਡੁਬਾਵੈ।
(ਫਲ) ਦੁਹਾਂ ਸਰਾਵਾਂ (=ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ) ਵਿਖੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਅਰ ਆਪ) ਪੱਥਰ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ (ਬਣਕੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਨੂੰ ਡੋਬਦੀ ਹੈ।
Due to the sinful activities her face in both the worlds remains pale because she behaves like a boat of stone which drowns its passengers.
ਮਨਮੁਖਮਨੁਅਠਖੰਡਹੋਇਦੁਸਟਾਸੰਗਤਿਭਰਮਿਭੁਲਾਵੈ।
ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਅੱਠ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਭਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਅਰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੋਤੇ ਵਾਂਙੂੰ ਨੱਕ, ਅੱਖਾਂ ਕਮਲ ਵਾਂਙੂੰ, ਗੁਤ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ ਵਾਂਙੂੰ, ਭੌਹਾਂ ਭੌਰੇ ਵਾਂਙੂੰ ਹਨ। ਅੱਠ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਨ ਅੱਠ ਉਪਮਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਅੱਠ ਟੋਟੇ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ; ਫਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Similar is the mind of apostate (manmukh), scattered and led astray by superstitions in the company of evil doers.
ਵੇਸੁਆਪੁਤੁਨਿਨਾਉਸਦਾਵੈ।੧੭।
ਵੇਸ਼ਵਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਨਾਵਾਂ ਸਦਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
And similar to courtesan's son bearing no name of his father, the apostate is also not owned by anyone.
ਸੁਧਿਨਹੋਵੈਬਾਲਬੁਧਿਬਾਲਕਲੀਲਾਵਿਚਿਵਿਹਾਵੈ।
ਬਾਲਕ ਬੁੱਧੀ (ਬਾਲਪਨੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਚ (ਉਮਰ) ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ।
Child's wisdom cares not for anything and he passes his time in joyful activities.
ਭਰਜੋਬਨਿਭਰਮਾਈਐਪਰਤਨਧਨਪਰਨਿੰਦਲੁਭਾਵੈ।
ਜਦ ਜੋਬਨ ਭਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਭਰਮ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਸਰੀਰ, ਪਰਾਏ ਧਨ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਭ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In youthful days, he is attracted by other's body, wealth and backbiting.
ਬਿਰਧਿਹੋਆਜੰਜਾਲਵਿਚਿਮਹਾਜਾਲੁਪਰਵਾਰੁਫਹਾਵੈ।
ਬਿਰਧ ਹੋਕੇ ਜੰਜਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਂ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In old age he is caught in the large web of family affairs.
ਬਲਹੀਣਾਮਤਿਹੀਣੁਹੋਇਨਾਉਬਹਤਰਿਆਬਰੜਾਵੈ।
ਬਲ ਤੋਂ ਹੀਣਾ ਬੁੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਹੀਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਰੜਾ ਬਰੜਾ (ਉਠਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕ ਸੱਤਰਿਆ) ਬਹੱਤਰਿਆ ਨਾਉਂ (ਧਰ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Known to be seventy-two he becomes frail and wisdomless and mumbles in sleep.
ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾਬੋਲਾਪਿੰਗਲਾਤਨੁਥਕਾਮਨੁਦਹਦਿਸੁਧਾਵੈ।
(ਅੱਖੋਂ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ, (ਕੰਨੋਂ ਬੋਲਾ, (ਪੈਰੋਂ) ਪਿੰਗਲਾ, ਸਰੀਰ ਚੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ (ਪਰੰਤੂ) ਮਨ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
Ultimately he turns blind, deaf and lame and though the body gets tired yet his mind runs in ten directions.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਗੁਰਸਬਦਵਿਣੁਲਖਚਉਰਾਸੀਹਜੂਨਿਭਵਾਵੈ।
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬਾਝ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without holy congregation and bereft of Guru-word he transmigrates into infinite species of life.
ਅਉਸਰੁਚੁਕਾਹਥਿਨਆਵੈ।੧੮।
(ਮਾਨੁਖ ਦੇਹ ਦਾ) ਸਮਾਂ ਚੁਕ ਗਿਆ ਫੇਰ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਊੂ।
The time lost cannot be regained.
ਹੰਸੁਨਛੱਡੈਮਾਨਸਰਬਗੁਲਾਬਹੁਛਪੜਫਿਰਿਆਵੈ।
ਹੰਸ ਮਾਨਸਰੋਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬਗਲਾ ਬਾਹਲੇ ਛੱਪੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦੇ, ਦੰਭੀ ਲੋਕ ਕਈ ਕੁਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ)
The swan never leaves Manasarovar, the sacred tank, but the crane always comes to the 4irty pond.
ਕੋਇਲਬੋਲੈਅੰਬਵਣਿਵਣਿਵਣਿਕਾਉਕੁਥਾਉਸੁਖਾਵੈ।
ਕੋਇਲ (ਨਿਰੇ) ਅੰਬਾਂ (ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਿੱਛਾਂ) ਵਿਖੇ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਣ ਵਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੈੜੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਭਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The nightingale sings in the mango groves but the crow feels comfort at an abominable place in the forest.
ਵਗਨਹੋਵਨਿਕੁਤੀਆਂਗਾਈਂਗੋਰਸੁਵੰਸੁਵਧਾਵੈ।
ਕੁੱਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਗਊੂਆਂ ਹੀ ਘਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਵੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। (ਭਾਵ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ)।
The bitches have no groups. (like cows) and the cows only give milk and increase the lineage.
ਸਫਲਬਿਰਖਨਿਹਚਲਮਤੀਨਿਹਫਲਮਾਣਸਦਹਦਿਸਿਧਾਵੈ।
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਬ੍ਰਿਛਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਫਲ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ (ਇਧਰ ਉਧਰ) ਭਟਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁਖ ਦਸੋਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਂਵਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The tree full of fruits is stable at one place whereas a vain person always runs hither and thither.
ਅਗਿਤਤੀਜਲੁਸੀਅਲਾਸਿਰੁਉਚਾਨੀਵਾਂਦਿਖਲਾਵੈ।
ਅਗਨੀ ਗਰਮ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਠੰਢਾ ਹੈ, (ਕਾਰਣ) ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਲਾਟ ਉੱਚੀ ਤੇ (ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਵਾਹ) ਨਿਵਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The fire is full of heat (of ego) and keeps its head high but the water being cold always goes downward.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਆਮਨਮੁਖੁਮੂਰਖਿਆਪੁਗਣਾਵੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਸ਼ੁਭ ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ) ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਗੁਆ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੂਰਖ (ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗਣਾਉਂਦਾ (ਜਤਾਉਂਦਾ) ਹੈ।
Gurmukh divests his soul of the egocenteredness but manmukh, the fool always counts himself (above all).
ਦੂਜਾਭਾਉਕੁਦਾਉਹਰਾਵੈ।੧੯।
ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਖੋਟਾ ਭਾਉ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਨਾਲ) ਹਾਰ ਹੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Having sense of duality is not a good conduct, and one always is defeated.
ਗਜਮ੍ਰਿਗਮੀਨਪਤੰਗਅਲਿਇਕਤੁਇਕਤੁਰੋਗਿਪਚੰਦੇ।
ਹਾਥੀ, ਮ੍ਰਿਗ, ਮੱਛੀ, ਭੰਭਟ, ਭੌਰਾ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਪਰਸ਼ ਦਾ, ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ, ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਸ ਦਾ, ਭੰਭਟ ਨੂੰ ਰੂਪ ਦਾ, ਭੌਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਧ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ)।
Elephant, deer, fish, moth and black bee have one disease each, namely, attraction for lust, sound, enjoyment, beautiful appearance and fragrance respectively, and they are consumed by them.
ਮਾਣਸਦੇਹੀਪੰਜਿਰੋਗਪੰਜੇਦੂਤਕੁਸੂਤਕਰੰਦੇ।
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜੇ ਰੋਗ ਹਨ, ਪੰਜੇ ਦੂਤ ਉਪੱਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
But the man has all the five ailments and these five always create turbulences in his life.
ਆਸਾਮਨਸਾਡਾਇਣੀਹਰਖਸੋਗਬਹੁਰੋਗਵਧੰਦੇ।
(ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਕ) ਆਸਾ, ਮਨਸਾ, ਡੈਣਾਂ, ਹਰਖ ਤੇ ਸੋਗ (ਕੁਪੱਥ) ਰੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।
The witches in the form of hope and desires and the happiness and sorrows further aggravate the diseases.
ਮਨਮੁਖਦੂਜੈਭਾਇਲਗਿਭੰਭਲਭੂਸੇਖਾਇਭਵੰਦੇ।
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੂਜੇ ਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਕੇ ਭਟਕਾਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਭੌਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Controlled by dualism, the deluded manmukh runs here and there.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਸਚਾਪਾਤਸਾਹਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਗਾਡੀਰਾਹੁਚਲੰਦੇ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੱਚਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਜਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਗਾਡੀ ਰਾਹ ਪਰ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The true Guru is the true king and the gurmukhs move on the highway pointed out by Him.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਮਿਲਿਚਲਣਾਭਜਿਗਏਠਗਚੋਰਡਰੰਦੇ।
(ਓਹ) ਸਾਣ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ (ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਆਦਿ) ਚੋਰ ਠੱਗਣ ਹਾਰੇ ਡਰਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Moving along with and in the holy congregation,
ਲੈਲਾਹਾਨਿਜਿਘਰਿਨਿਬਹੰਦੇ।੨੦।
(ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ) ਲਾਭ ਲੈਕੇ ਸ੍ਵੈਸਰੂਪ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
the theives and cheats in the form of lust for materials run away.
ਬੇੜੀਚਾੜਿਲੰਘਾਇਦਾਬਾਹਲੇਪੂਰਮਾਣਸਮੋਹਾਣਾ।
ਬੇੜੀ ਪੁਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਕੇ ਇਕ (ਮੁਹਾਣਾ) ਮਲਾਹ ਬਾਹਲੇ ਮਨੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੂਰ ਨੂੰ (ਨਦੀ ਥੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਲੱਖਾਂ) ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਪੁਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨਦੀ ਥੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Only one person ferries across many a man.
ਆਗੂਇਕੁਨਿਬਾਹਿਦਾਲਸਕਰਸੰਗਸਾਹਸੁਲਤਾਣਾ।
ਇਕੋ ਆਗੂ ਸੁਲਤਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਸ਼ਕਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਬਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The one commander of the imperial army gets the whole task executed.
ਫਿਰੈਮਹਲੈਪਾਹਰੂਹੋਇਨਿਚਿੰਦਸਵਨਿਪਰਧਾਣਾ।
ਇਕ ਪਹਿਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਮਹੱਲੇ ਵਿਚ (ਰਾਤ) ਚੌਂਕੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਮੀਰ ਲੋਕ (ਚੋਰਾਂ ਥੋਂ) ਨਿਚਿੰਤ ਹੋਕੇ ਸੌ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Because of only one watchman in the locality, all the rich persons sleep free from any anxiety.
ਲਾੜਾਇਕੁਵੀਵਾਹੀਐਬਾਹਲੇਜਾਞੀਂਕਰਿਮਿਹਮਾਣਾ।
ਲਾੜਾ ਇਕ ਵਿਆਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਬਹੁਤੇ ਜਾੀਂ ਪਰਾਹੁਣੇ ਕਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Guests in the marriage party remain many but the marriage is solemnised of one person.
ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁਇਕੁਮੁਲਕਵਿਚਿਹੋਰੁਪ੍ਰਜਾਹਿੰਦੂਮੁਸਲਮਾਣਾ।
ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੋ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸਦੀ) ਪਰਜਾ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ (ਅਨੇਕ) ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The emperor in the country happens to be one and the rest are the public in the forms of Hindus and Muslims.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਸਚਾਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਗੁਰੁਸਬਦੁਨੀਸਾਣਾ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੱਚਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ (ਸਭਾ ਹੈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ (ਦਾ) ਪਰਵਾਨਾ (ਦੇਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਥੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Similarly the true Guru Emperor is one and the holy congregation and the Guru word-sabad are His identification marks.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਪਰਣੈਤਿਨਕੁਰਬਾਣਾ।੨੧।੫।
(ਜੋ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ (ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਣ ਹਾਂ।
I sacrifice myself unto them who seek the shelter of the true Guru.
