ਜਾਤਹੈਜਗਤ੍ਰਜੈਸੇਤੀਰਥਜਾਤ੍ਰਾਨਮਿਤਮਾਝਹੀਬਸਤਬਗਮਹਿਮਾਨਜਾਨੀਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਜਗਤ ਜਹਾਨ ਤਾਂ ਤੀਰਥ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਮਹਾਤਮ ਦੀ ਭੌਣੀ ਧਾਰ ਧਾਰ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਬਗਲੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਖ੍ਯਾਤ ਤੀਰਥ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਵੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਭੀ, ਓਸ ਦੇ ਕਦਰ ਮਹਾਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
Just as the whole world go to places of pilgrimage, but the egret living there has not appreciated the greatness of these places,
ਪੂਰਨਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਭਾਸਕਰਿਜਗਮਗਜੋਤਉਲੂਅੰਧਕੰਧਬੁਰੀਕਰਨੀਕਮਾਨੀਹੈ।
ਭਾਸਕਰਿ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਜਗਮਗ ਜਗਮਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਭੀ, ਉੱਲੂ ਨੇ ਐਸੀ ਹੀ ਬੁਰੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਓਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਖੋਲੇ ਹੀ ਪਸਿੰਦ ਔਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Just as bright light spreads all around when the Sun rises, but an owl has committed so many ill deeds that he remains hidden in dark caves and burrows,
ਜੈਸੇਤਉਬਸੰਤਸਮੈਸਫਲਬਨਾਸਪਤੀਨਿਹਫਲਸੈਂਬਲਬਡਾਈਉਰਆਨੀਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁੱਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਭ ਬਨਾਸਪਤੀਆਂ ਸਫਲੀਆਂ ਹੌ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਸਿੰਬਲ ਦਾ ਬਿਰਛ ਅਫਲ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕ੍ਯੋਜੁ ਓਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਉੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਫੈਲਰੇ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Just as all vegetation bears flowers and fruits during spring season but a cotton silk tree who has brought in him the praise of being big and mighty, remains bereft of flowers and fruits.

ਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਵੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿਹਾਇਆ ਪਪੀਹਾ ਬਕਵਾਨੀ = ਬਕਵਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਜੁੱਟਾ ਲਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਤੀਕੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੋਕ! ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰੁਝਾ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੫੨੫॥
