ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਹਾਜ ਤੋਰ ਦੇਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਦ ਤਕ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤ ਪਾਰ ਪੁੱਜਣ ਦਾ।
Just as a ship is set to sail in the sea, but no one can know its fate till the time it reaches the shore beyond.

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਕਿਰਸਾਨ ਹਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਤ ਵਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਬੀਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸੁਖ ਤਕ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਾ ਕੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਿਆ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as a farmer happily and delightfully ploughs the field, sows the seed, but he celebrates his happiness only when the harvested grain is brought home.

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਨਾਰੀ ਪਤੀ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਤਦੇ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੁਤਰ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Just as a wife comes close to her husband to please him, but she considers her love a success only when she bears a son and he loves her.
ਤੈਸੇਉਸਤਤਿਨਿੰਦਾਕਰੀਐਨਕਾਹੂਕੇਰੀਜਾਨੀਐਧੌਕੈਸੋਦਿਨਆਵੈਅੰਤਕਾਰਕੌ।੫੯੫।
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਉਸਤਤ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੀ ਜਾਣੀਏ ਕਿ ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਕੈਸਾ ਆਵੇ ਭਾਵ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਜਾਂ ਨਾਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਦਾ ॥੫੯੫॥
Similarly, no one should be praised or slandered before time. Who knows what sort of a day may dawn in the end that all his labour may bear fruit or not. (One may tread a wrong path and wander or will be accepted by the Guru ultimately). (595)
