ਸੀਸਈਂਟਕੇਘਾਇਕਰੇਹੀ॥
ਜੋ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਇਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਾਉ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਜਨੁਤਿਨੁਭੇਟਪੁਰਾਤਨਦੇਹੀ॥੨੧॥
ਮਾਨੋ (ਕੋਈ) ਪਿਛਲੀ (ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ) ਭੇਂਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨੧॥
The wounds on heads caused by the brick-hittings, appear like the previous offering given to them.21.

ਕਬਹੂੰਰਣਜੂਝ੍ਯੋਨਹੀਕਛੁਦੈਜਸੁਨਹੀਲੀਨ॥
(ਜਿਹੜੇ) ਕਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਲੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਯਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਟਿਆ,
Those who have never participated in the war in the battlefield and also have not earned approbation by offering bride.
ਗਾਵਬਸਤਿਜਾਨ੍ਯੋਨਹੀਜਮਸੋਕਿਨਕਹਿਦੀਨ॥੨੨॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਿੰਡ ਵਸਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ, (ਫਿਰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ਯਮਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ) ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੨॥
Who are not known by anybody as the residents of the village, it is, indeed, wonderful as to who hath given their address to Yama (the god of death)?22.

ਇਹਬਿਧਿਤਿਨੋਭਯੋਉਪਹਾਸਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਬੇਮੁਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਖੌਲ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਸਭਸੰਤਨਮਿਲਿਲਖਿਓਤਮਾਸਾ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ (ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ) ਨੇ ਰਲ ਕੇ (ਇਹ) ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
In this way, the apostates received foul treatment. All the saints saw this spectacle.
ਸੰਤਨਕਸਟਨਦੇਖਨਪਾਯੋ॥
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਪਿਆ,
ਆਪਹਾਥਦੈਨਾਥਿਬਚਾਯੋ॥੨੩॥
ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾਇਆ ॥੨੩॥
No harm was done to them, the Lord saved them Himself.23.
ਚਾਰਣੀਦੋਹਿਰਾ॥

ਜਿਸਨੋਸਾਜਨਰਾਖਸੀਦੁਸਮਨਕਵਨਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਖੁਦ) ਰਖੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਮਜਾਲ ਹੈ?
To whomsoever the Lord protects, the enemy can do nothing to him.
ਛ੍ਵੈਨਸਕੈਤਿਹਛਾਹਿਕੌਨਿਹਫਲਜਾਇਗਵਾਰ॥੨੪॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਛਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ, (ਉਸ) ਮੂਰਖ ਦਾ (ਯਤਨ) ਨਿਸਫਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੪॥
None can touch his shadow, the fool makes useless effort.24.
ਜੇਸਾਧੂਸਰਨੀਪਰੇਤਿਨਕੇਕਵਣਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਹੀਏ?
Those who have taken refuge with the saints, what can be said about them?
ਦੰਤਿਜੀਭਜਿਮਰਾਖਿਹੈਦੁਸਟਅਰਿਸਟਸੰਘਾਰਿ॥੨੫॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ) ਦੰਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਪਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੫॥
God saves from the inimical and wicked persons by destroying them, just as the tongue is protected within the teeth.25.

(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਧਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ
ਦੁਖੁਦੈਕੈਦੋਖੀਸਭਮਾਰੇ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੋਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖ ਦੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
At all times, the Lord protected all the saints and hath killed all the malicious persons, subjecting them to great agony.
ਅਦਭੁਤਿਗਤਿਭਗਤਨਦਿਖਰਾਈ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ) ਅਦਭੁਤ ਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ
ਸਭਸੰਕਟਤੇਲਏਬਚਾਈ॥੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਕਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
He hath exhibited His marvelous State to saints and hath saved them from all sufferings.1.
ਸਭਸੰਕਟਤੇਸੰਤਬਚਾਏ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੰਕਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ
ਸਭਸੰਕਟਕੰਟਕਜਿਮਘਾਏ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੰਕਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਡਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
He hath saved His saints from all sufferings. He hath destroyed all the malevolent persons like the thorns.
ਦਾਸਜਾਨਮੁਰਿਕਰੀਸਹਾਇ॥
ਦਾਸ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ
ਆਪਹਾਥੁਦੈਲਯੋਬਚਾਇ॥੨॥
ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Considering me as His Servant, He hath helped me, and hath protected me with His own hands.2.
ਅਬਜੋਜੋਮੈਲਖੇਤਮਾਸਾ॥
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ,
ਸੋਸੋਕਰੋਤੁਮੈਅਰਦਾਸਾ॥
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ (ਮੈਂ) ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਗੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
All hose spectacles which have been visualized by me, I dedicate all of them to Thee.
ਜੋਪ੍ਰਭਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕਟਾਛਿਦਿਖੈਹੈ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰੋਗੇ
ਸੋਤਵਦਾਸਉਚਾਰਤਜੈਹੈ॥੩॥
ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ॥੩॥
If Thou castest Thy Merciful glance at me, then Thy Servant shall utter all.3.
ਜਿਹਜਿਹਬਿਧਮੈਲਖੇਤਮਾਸਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੈਂ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ,
ਚਹਤਤਿਨਕੋਕੀਯੋਪ੍ਰਕਾਸਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
The kinds of spectacles that I have seen, I want to enlighten (the world) about them.
ਜੋਜੋਜਨਮਪੂਰਬਲੇਹੇਰੇ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮ (ਮੈਂ) ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ,
ਕਹਿਹੋਸੁਪ੍ਰਭੁਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮਤੇਰੇ॥੪॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥
All the past lives that have peeped into, I shall speak about them with Thy Power.4.
ਸਰਬਕਾਲਹੈਪਿਤਾਅਪਾਰਾ॥
ਸਭ ਦਾ ਕਾਲ (ਸਰਬ ਕਾਲ) ਅਪਾਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਡਾ) ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ
ਦੇਬਿਕਾਲਿਕਾਮਾਤਹਮਾਰਾ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ) ਦੇਵੀ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ।
He, my Lord is Father and Destroyer of all, the goddess Kalika is my mother.
ਮਨੂਆਗੁਰਮੁਰਿਮਨਸਾਮਾਈ॥
ਮਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਸ਼ਾ (ਕਾਮਨਾ) ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਤਨੀ) ਹੈ
ਜਿਨਿਮੋਕੋਸੁਭਕ੍ਰਿਆਪੜਾਈ॥੫॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਾਵਿ-ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਸਿਖਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
The mind is my Guru and the discriminating intellect, the Guru’s wife is my mother, who hath taught me all about good deeds.5.
ਜਬਮਨਸਾਮਨਮਯਾਬਿਚਾਰੀ॥
ਜਦ ਮਨ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਨਸਾ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ
ਗੁਰੁਮਨੂਆਕਹਕਹ੍ਯੋਸੁਧਾਰੀ॥
ਤਦ ਮਨ ਰੂਪੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕਥਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
When I (as mind) reflected on the kindness of the discriminating intellect, the Guru0mind uttered his refined statement.
ਜੇਜੇਚਰਿਤਪੁਰਾਤਨਲਹੇ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ (ਮੈਂ) ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਜਨਮ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ,
ਤੇਤੇਅਬਚਹੀਅਤਹੈਕਹੇ॥੬॥
ਉਹ ਉਹ (ਮੈਂ) ਹੁਣ ਕਹਿਣੇ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੬॥
All the wonderful things that were comprehended by the ancient sages, I want to speak about all of them.6.
ਸਰਬਕਾਲਕਰੁਣਾਤਬਭਰੇ॥
ਤਦ ਸਰਬ-ਕਾਲ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਏ
ਸੇਵਕਜਾਨਿਦਯਾਰਸਢਰੇ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਸੀਜ ਗਏ।
Then my Lord, Destroyer of all, was filled with kindness and considering me as His servant, He was gracefully pleased.
ਜੋਜੋਜਨਮੁਪੂਰਬਲੋਭਯੋ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ,
ਸੋਸੋਸਭਸਿਮਰਣਕਰਿਦਯੋ॥੭॥
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੭॥
The births of all the incarnations in the previous ages, He hath caused me to remember all of them.7.
ਮੋਕੋਇਤੀਹੁਤੀਕਹਸੁਧੰ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਤਨੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਭਲਾ ਕਿਥੇ ਸੀ
ਜਸਪ੍ਰਭਦਈਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕਰਿਬੁਧੰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
How could I have all this information? The Lord mercifully gave such intellect.
ਸਰਬਕਾਲਤਬਭਏਦਇਆਲਾ॥
ਤਦ ਸਰਬ-ਕਾਲ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਦਿਆਲੂ ਹੋ ਗਏ
ਲੋਹਰਛਹਮਕੋਸਬਕਾਲਾ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੮॥
My Lord, the Destroyer of all, then became Benevolent, At all times, I gave the Protection of at that steel-incarnated Lord.8.
ਸਰਬਕਾਲਰਛਾਸਭਕਾਲ॥
ਸਰਬ-ਕਾਲ ਦੀ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਸਭ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਲੋਹਰਛਸਰਬਦਾਬਿਸਾਲ॥
ਸਦਾ (ਉਸ) ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਰੂਪ ਰਖਿਆ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
At all times, Lord, Destroyer of all, protects me. That All-Pervading Lord is my Protector like Steel.
ਢੀਠਭਯੋਤਵਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਖਾਈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਉਪਰ) ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦਿਸ ਪਈ, ਤਾਂ (ਮੈਂ) ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
ਐਂਡੋਫਿਰੇਸਭਨਭਯੋਰਾਈ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਸਭ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਐਂਠਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੯॥
Comprehending Thy Kindness, I have become fearless and in my pride, I consider myself as the king of all. 9.
ਜਿਹਜਿਹਬਿਧਿਜਨਮਨਸੁਧਿਆਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਪੂਰਬਲੇ) ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਆਈ,
ਤਿਮਤਿਮਕਹੇਗਿਰੰਥਬਨਾਈ॥
ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ।
The way in which I came to know about the births of incarnations, in the same manner, I have rendered them in books.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇਸਤਿਜੁਗਜਿਹਬਿਧਿਲਹਾ॥
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਤਿਯੁਗ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ,
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇਦੇਬਿਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਕੋਕਹਾ॥੧੦॥
(ਉਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੇਵੀ-ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੦॥
The way, in which I came to know about Satyuga, I have narrated it in the first poem of the miraculous feats of the goddess.10.
ਪਹਿਲੇਚੰਡੀਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਬਨਾਯੋ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਚੰਡੀ-ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਖਸਿਖਤੇਕ੍ਰਮਭਾਖਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ) ਨਹੁੰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚੋਟੀ ਤਕ (ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਅੰਤ ਤਕ) ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
The miraculous feats of goddess Chandi have been composed earlier, I have compsed (the same) in strict order from top to toe.
