ਸਲੋਕਮਃ੧॥
Shalok, First Mahalaa:
सलोक मः १ ॥
ਵਾਹੁਖਸਮਤੂਵਾਹੁਜਿਨਿਰਚਿਰਚਨਾਹਮਕੀਏ॥
ਹੇ ਖਸਮ! ਤੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਹੈਂ! ਤੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਹੈਂ! ਜਿਸ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਅਸਾਨੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
Waaho! Waaho! You are wonderful and great, O Lord and Master; You created the creation, and made us.
वाहु खसम तू वाहु जिनि रचि रचना हम कीए ॥
ਸਾਗਰਲਹਰਿਸਮੁੰਦਸਰਵੇਲਿਵਰਸਵਰਾਹੁ॥
ਸਮੁੰਦਰ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ, ਤਲਾਬ, ਹਰੀਆਂ ਵੇਲਾਂ, ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੱਦਲ- (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ)।
You made the waters, waves, oceans, pools, plants, clouds and mountains.
सागर लहरि समुंद सर वेलि वरस वराहु ॥
ਆਪਿਖੜੋਵਹਿਆਪਿਕਰਿਆਪੀਣੈਆਪਾਹੁ॥
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ (ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਭੀ ਹੈਂ)।
You Yourself stand in the midst of what You Yourself created.
आपि खड़ोवहि आपि करि आपीणै आपाहु ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੇਵਾਥਾਇਪਵੈਉਨਮਨਿਤਤੁਕਮਾਹੁ॥
ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The selfless service of the Gurmukhs is approved; in celestial peace, they live the essence of reality.
गुरमुखि सेवा थाइ पवै उनमनि ततु कमाहु ॥
ਮਸਕਤਿਲਹਹੁਮਜੂਰੀਆਮੰਗਿਮੰਗਿਖਸਮਦਰਾਹੁ॥
ਉਹ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਘਾਲ ਕੇ, ਹੇ ਖਸਮ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ਮਜੂਰੀ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They receive the wages of their labor, begging at the Door of their Lord and Master.
मसकति लहहु मजूरीआ मंगि मंगि खसम दराहु ॥
ਨਾਨਕਪੁਰਦਰਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਤਉਦਰਿਊਣਾਨਾਹਿਕੋਸਚਾਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ (ਬਰਕਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ (ਆ ਕੇ) ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, the Court of the Lord is overflowing and carefree; O my True Carefree Lord, no one returns empty-handed from Your Court. ||1||
नानक पुर दर वेपरवाह तउ दरि ऊणा नाहि को सचा वेपरवाहु ॥१॥
