ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Bilaaval, Fifth Mahalaa:
बिलावलु महला ५ ॥
ਜਿਸੁਊਪਰਿਹੋਵਤਦਇਆਲੁ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who is blessed by the Lord's Mercy,
जिसु ऊपरि होवत दइआलु ॥
ਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਤਕਾਟੈਸੋਕਾਲੁ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਜਾਲ ਕੱਟ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
passes his time in contemplative meditation. ||1||Pause||
हरि सिमरत काटै सो कालु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਭਜੀਐਗੋਪਾਲੁ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ-ਪਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate, and vibrate upon the Lord of the Universe.
साधसंगि भजीऐ गोपालु ॥
ਗੁਨਗਾਵਤਤੂਟੈਜਮਜਾਲੁ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਜਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਲ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the noose of death is cut away. ||1||
गुन गावत तूटै जम जालु ॥१॥
ਆਪੇਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਆਪੇਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ (ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਮ ਜਾਲ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself is the True Guru, and He Himself is the Cherisher.
आपे सतिगुरु आपे प्रतिपाल ॥
ਨਾਨਕੁਜਾਚੈਸਾਧਰਵਾਲ॥੨॥੬॥੨੪॥
(ਤਾਹੀਏਂ) ਨਾਨਕ (ਸਦਾ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੬॥੨੪॥
Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||2||6||24||
