ਬਿਗੋਯਦਕਿਏਨਾਜ਼ਨੀਸੀਮਤਨ॥੧੩੨॥
ਹੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ! ॥੧੩੨॥
And said, ‘Oh you the one with such exquisite body,(132)
ਹਰਾਕਸਕਿਖ਼ਾਹੀਬਿਗੋਮਨਦਿਹਮ॥
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ ਦਸ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂ।
‘What ever you desire, tell me, I will grant,
ਕਿਏਸ਼ੇਰਦਿਲਮਨਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੇਤੁਅਮ॥੧੩੩॥
ਹੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ-ਦਿਲ ਇਸਤਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੩੩॥
‘Because, Oh, the lion-hearted, I am a slave to you.’(133)
ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦਬਾਸੀਤੁਏਕਾਰਸਖ਼ਤ॥
(ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ) ਹੇ ਜੰਗ ਵਰਗਾ ਕਠੋਰ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ!
‘Oh, you the toiling-hard in your deeds,
ਕਿਮਾਰਾਬਯਕਬਾਰਕੁਨਨੇਕਬਖ਼ਤ॥੧੩੪॥
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ (ਪਤੀ) ਬਣ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਗਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਬਣਾ ਦੇ ॥੧੩੪॥
‘Take me as your wife and endow me to become a kind woman.’(134)
ਬਿਜ਼ਦਪੁਸ਼ਤਪਾਓਕੁਸ਼ਾਦਸ਼ਬਚਸ਼ਮ॥
(ਸੁਭਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ (ਪਛਤਾਵੇ ਵਜੋਂ) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪੈਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਰੇ।
She stamped her feet on the chest of the earth,
ਹਮਹਰਵਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਹਾਨਪੇਸ਼ੀਨਰਸ਼ਮ॥੧੩੫॥
ਫਿਰ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾਇਆ ॥੧੩੫॥
And repeated the custom of her predecessors (married him).(135)
ਬਿਅਫ਼ਤਾਦਬਰਰਥਬਿਆਵੁਰਦਜਾ॥
(ਸੁਭਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਲੰਬਾ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਆਈ
He (Subhat Singh) was laid down on the chariot, and she brought him home,
ਬਿਜ਼ਦਨਉਬਤਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਹੇਜ਼ਮਾ॥੧੩੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮਾਨੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ (ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ) ਨਗਾਰੇ ਵਜਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧੩੬॥
And the king of kings (her father) beat the drums (in happiness).(136)
ਬਹੋਸ਼ਅੰਦਰਆਮਦਦੁਚਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਕੁਸ਼ਾਦ॥
ਜਦ (ਸੁਭਟ ਸਿੰਘ) ਹੋਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਿਆ
With the noise of the drums, when he (Subhat Singh) was awaken,
ਬਿਗੋਯਦਕਿਰਾਜਾਇਮਾਰਾਨਿਹਾਦ॥੧੩੭॥
ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਰਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੭॥
He asked, ‘In whose house, I have been brought in?’(137)
ਬਿਗੋਯਦਤੁਰਾਜ਼ਫ਼ਰਜੰਗਯਾਫ਼ਤਮ॥
(ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਨੇ) ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਤ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ
She replied, ‘I have won you in the war,
ਬਕਾਰੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਕਤਖ਼ੁਦਾਯਾਫ਼ਤਮ॥੧੩੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਪਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੮॥
And through the war I have taken you as my husband.’(138)
ਪਸ਼ੇਮਾਸ਼ਵਦਸੁਖ਼ਨਗੁਫ਼ਤਨਫ਼ਜ਼ੂਲ॥
(ਸੁਭਟ ਸਿੰਘ) ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਦੇ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਿਆ।
He repented on the unintended words he had spoken,
ਹਰਾਕਸਤੁਗੋਈਕਿਬਰਮਨਕਬੂਲ॥੧੩੯॥
(ਹੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ!) ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਕਹੇਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੯॥
But what could be done then and he accepted (the marriage).(139)
ਬਿਦਿਹਸਾਕੀਯਾਜਾਮਫੇਰੋਜ਼ਹਫ਼ਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਕੀ! ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੇ ਰੰਗ (ਹਰਿਨਾਮ) (ਦਾ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ)
(The poet says), ‘O, Saki, Give me the cup full of green (liquid),
ਕਿਮਾਰਾਬਕਾਰਅਸਤਰੋਜ਼ੇਤਮਾਮ॥੧੪੦॥
ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ, ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੦॥
Which I need at the end of the long day.(140)
ਤੁਮਾਰਾਬਿਦਿਹਤਾਸ਼ਵਮਤਾਜ਼ਹਦਿਲ॥
ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਉਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ) ਦੇ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਹੋਵੇ
Give me so that my heart brims with freshness,
ਕਿਗੌਹਰਬਿਆਰੇਮਆਲੂਦਹਗਿਲ॥੧੪੧॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਿਕੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਆਤਮਾ ਰੂਪੀ) ਮੋਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਢ ਲਿਆਵਾਂ ॥੧੪੧॥੪॥
And fetches the pearls out of the depleted soil.(141)
ੴਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫ਼ਤਹ॥
The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.
ਤੁਈਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਓਤੁਈਦਿਲਕੁਸ਼ਾਇ॥
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਰਾਹ ਦਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
You are my guide and you are my counsellor,
ਤੁਈਦਸਤਗੀਰਅੰਦਰਹਰਦੋਸਰਾਇ॥੧॥
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੱਥ ਫੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
You lead us, holding our hands, in both the worlds.(1)
ਤੁਈਰਾਜ਼ਰੋਜ਼ੀਦਿਹੋਦਸਤਗੀਰ॥
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਂਹ ਪਕੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
You are our support and provider.
ਕਰੀਮੇਖ਼ਤਾਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾਨਸ਼ਪਜ਼ੀਰ॥੨॥
ਤੂੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਖਿਮਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
You recognise our deficiency, and are our redeemer.(2)
ਹਿਕਾਯਤਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਮਯਕੇਕਾਜ਼ੀਅਸ਼॥
ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ
I have heard the Tale of a Quazi,
ਕਿਬਰਤਰਨਦੀਦਮਕਜ਼ੋਦੀਗਰਸ਼॥੩॥
ਕਿ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
And I have never seen as good a person as him.(3)
ਯਕੇਖ਼ਾਨਹਓਬਾਨੂਏਨਉਜਵਾ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।
In his household, there was dame, who was at the prime of her youth.
ਕਿਕੁਰਬਾਸ਼ਵਦਹਰਕਸੇਨਾਜ਼ਦਾ॥੪॥
ਹਾਵ-ਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੪॥
Her coquetry had made the lives of all the people unendurable.(4)
ਕਿਸ਼ੋਸਨਸਰੇਰਾਫ਼ਰੋਮੇਜ਼ਦਹ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਲਿਲੀ ਦਾ ਫੁਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ
On seeing her, lilacs hung their heads down,
ਗੁਲੇਲਾਲਹਰਾਦਾਗ਼ਬਰਦਿਲਸ਼ੁਦਹ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਤ ਦੇ ਫੁਲ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਲਾ ਦਾਗ਼ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੫॥
And the flowers of tulip plants felt their hearts rending.(5)
ਕਜ਼ਾਸੂਰਤੇਮਾਹਿਰਾਬੀਮਸ਼ੁਦ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੂਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਲਗਦਾ ਸੀ
On her sight the Moon became hesitant
ਰਸ਼ਕਸ਼ੋਖ਼ਤਹਅਜ਼ਮਿਯਾਨੀਮਸ਼ੁਦ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਈਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਅੱਧਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੬॥
And, in the passion of jealousy, it diminished half of its brightness.(6)
ਬਕਾਰਅਜ਼ਸੂਏਖ਼ਾਨਹਬੇਰੂੰਰਵਦ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ,
Whenever she strolled out of her house on an errand,
ਬਦੋਸ਼ੇਜ਼ੁਲਫ਼ਸ਼ੋਰਸੁੰਬਲਸ਼ਵਦ॥੭॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੋਢਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਲਟਕਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ੁਲਫ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ-ਪੇਚੇ ਦੀ ਵੇਲ ਵੀ ਤੜਪ ਉਠਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੭॥
The tresses of her hair sneaked around her shoulders like the clusters of hyacinth.(7)
ਗਰਆਬੇਬਦਰੀਯਾਬਸ਼ੋਯਦਰੁਖ਼ਸ਼॥
ਜੇ ਕਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧੋਂਦੀ ਸੀ,
If ever she washed her face in the river water,
ਹਮਹਖ਼ਾਰਮਾਹੀਸ਼ਵਦਗੁਲਰੁਖ਼ਸ਼॥੮॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਫੁਲਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੮॥
The thorny bones of the fish would turn into flowers.(8)
ਬਖ਼ਮਓਫ਼ਿਤਾਦਹਹੁਮਾਸਾਯਹਆਬ॥
ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਛਾਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਘੜੇ ਉਤੇ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
When she looked into the pitcher of water,
ਜ਼ਿਮਸਤੀਸ਼ੁਦਹਨਾਮਨਰਗ਼ਸਸ਼ਰਾਬ॥੯॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਨਰਗਸੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ' ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੯॥
The water was turned into liquor known as the Wine of Narcissus.(9)
ਬਜੀਦਸ਼ਯਕੇਰਾਜਹੇਨਉਜਵਾ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ
She saw a young Raja,
ਕਿਹੁਸਨਲਜਮਾਲਅਸਤੁਜ਼ਾਹਰਜਹਾ॥੧੦॥
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੀ ॥੧੦॥
Who was very handsome and famous in the world.(10)
ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤਾਕਿਏਰਾਜਹੇਨੇਕਬਖ਼ਤ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਨੇਕ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜੇ!
(She) said, ‘Oh! my Raja, let me be besides
ਤੁਮਾਰਾਬਿਦਿਹਜਾਇਨਜ਼ਦੀਕਤਖ਼ਤ॥੧੧॥
ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਂ ਦੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ-ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਲੈ) ॥੧੧॥
your throne (make me your Queen).’ 11)
ਨਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤੀਸਰੇਕਾਜ਼ੀਆਵਰਤੁਰਾਸਤ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ) ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਲਿਆ,
(The Raja replied), ‘First of all you go, slay the head of Quazi, your husband,
ਵਜ਼ਾਪਸਕਿਈਂਖ਼ਾਨਹਮਾਅਜ਼ਤੁਰਾਸਤੁ॥੧੨॥
ਉਸ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਘਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ ॥੧੨॥
‘Thereafter, my house will be your abode.’(12)
ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਈਂਸੁਖ਼ਨਰਾਦਿਲਅੰਦਰਨਿਹਾਦ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬੋਲ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਰਖਿਆ
Hearing this she concealed the secret in her heart,
ਨਰਾਜ਼ੇਦਿਗ਼ਰਪੇਸ਼ਅਉਰਤਕੁਸ਼ਾਦ॥੧੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਗੇ ਇਹ ਭੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੩॥
And did not disclose it to any other woman.(13)
ਬਵਕਤੇਸ਼ੌਹਰਰਾਚੁਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਖ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਹਦੀਦ॥
ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਠੀ (ਡੂੰਘੀ) ਨੀਂਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ
She found her husband in deep slumber,
ਬਿਜ਼ਦਤੇਗ਼ਖ਼ੁਦਦਸਤਸਰਓਬੁਰੀਦ॥੧੪॥
ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੪॥
She took a sword in her hand and severed his head off.(14)
