ਸਨਾਨੇਬਿਯੰਦਾਖ਼ਤਨੇਜ਼ਹਚੁਕਾਹ॥੧੧॥
ਉਹ ਕਾਹੀ (ਘਾਹ) ਦੀਆਂ ਨੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਾਲੇ ਸੁਟਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੧॥
Like the leaves flutter during the dust storm, the arrows started to fly.(11)
ਚੁਨਾਤੀਰਬਾਰਾਨਪਰਰਾਸ਼ੁਦਹ॥
ਉਡਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ,
The arrows flew in such density that,
ਜ਼ਿਮੀਂਆਸਮਾਪੁਰਆਂਜ਼ਿਕਰਸ਼ਸ਼ੁਦਹ॥੧੨॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਆਸਮਾਨ ਤਕ (ਸਾਰਾ ਖਗੋਲ) ਗਿਰਝਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੨॥
The sky was inundated with vultures.(12)
ਚਕਾਚਾਕਬਰਖ਼ਾਸਤਨੋਕੇਸਿਨਾ॥
ਬਰਛਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਜਣ ਨਾਲ ਖਚ ਖਚ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
Noises coming through the tips of the spears were piercing,
ਯਕੇਰੁਸਤਖ਼ੇਜ਼ਅਜ਼ਬਰਾਮਦਜਹਾ॥੧੩॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਲੋ ਆ ਗਈ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੩॥
And both were creating havoc in the world.(13)
ਚੁਸੂਰੇਸਰਾਫ਼ੀਲਦਮਮੇਜ਼ਦਹ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਇਸਰਾਫ਼ੀਲ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ (ਕਿਆਮਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ) ਫੂਕ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
They were raising hue and cries, as if, to seek final bliss of Angel of Resurrection,
ਕਿਰੋਜ਼ੇਕਿਯਾਮਤਬਹਮਮੇਜ਼ਦਹ॥੧੪॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕਿਆਮਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਟਕਰਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੪॥
So that, on the doomsday, they attain sanctuary in the heaven.(14)
ਗ਼ੁਰੇਜ਼ਸ਼ਦਰਾਮਦਬਅਰਬੀਸਿਪਾਹ॥
ਅਰਬ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਜੜ ਮਚ ਗਈ
At the end anarchy surrounded the Arabian Army,
ਬਗ਼ਾਲਬਦਰਾਮਦਹੁਮਾਗਰਬਸ਼ਾਹ॥੧੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਜਿਤ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੫॥
And western Raja had the victorious day.(15)
ਕਿਤਨਹਾਬਿਮਾਦਅਸਤਸ਼ਾਹੇਅਰਬ॥
ਅਰਬ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਇਕਲਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ।
The Arabian Prince was isolated,
ਬਵਕਤੇਚੁਪੇਸ਼ੀਨਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਚੂੰਗਰਬ॥੧੬॥
ਸੰਧਿਆ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਡੁਬ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੬॥
When the sun set in the evening.(16)
ਚੁਤਾਬਸ਼ਨੁਮਨਦਸ਼ਵਦਦਸਤਗੀਰ॥
ਜਦ ਅਰਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ,
As he had lost all his power, he tried to escape,
ਚੁਦੁਜ਼ਦੇਸ਼ਵਦਵਕਤਸ਼ਬਰਾਅਸੀਰ॥੧੭॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਚੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭॥
But could not, he surrendered and become a prisoner.(17)
ਬੁਬਸਤੰਦਬੁਰਦੰਦਸ਼ਹਿਨਿਜ਼ਦਸ਼ਾਹ॥
(ਅਰਬ ਦੇ) ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਪੱਛਮ ਦੇ) ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਾਸ ਲੈ ਆਏ,
The Prince was tied down and taken to the Raja,
ਚੁਮਾਹਅਫ਼ਕਨੋਹਮਚੁਬੁਰਦੰਦਮਾਹ॥੧੮॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹੂ ਪਕੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੮॥
The same way as Rahu, the demon planet, captured the moon.(18)
ਬਖ਼ਾਨਹਖ਼ਬਰਆਮਦਹਸ਼ਾਹਿਬਸਤ॥
ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਕੜੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ।
Although the news of the Prince’s arrest reached his household,
ਹਮਹਕਾਰਦੁਜ਼ਦੀਵਮਰਦੀਗੁਜ਼ਸ਼ਤ॥੧੯॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਗੁੰਜਾਇਸ਼ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਰਹੀ ॥੧੯॥
In spite of hard efforts Prince could not be rescued.(19)
ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤੰਦਬਮਜਲਸਜ਼ਿਦਾਨਾਇਦਿਲ॥
ਦਿਲ ਦੇ ਸਮਝਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਜਲਿਸ ਬੈਠੀ।
The wise ones assembled in the Court,
ਸੁਖ਼ਨਰਾਦਪਿਨਹਾਵਜ਼ਾਸ਼ਹਿਖ਼ਿਜ਼ਲ॥੨੦॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਫੜੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਚਲਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
And talked over the shame (of the Prince’s apprehension).(20)
ਚੁਬਿਸਨੀਦਈਂਖ਼ਬਰਦੁਖ਼ਤਰਵਜ਼ੀਰ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ।
When the daughter of the Minister heard the news,
ਬਬਸਤੰਦਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੇਰਜੁਸਤੰਦਤੀਰ॥੨੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ (ਲਕ ਨਾਲ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰ ਵੀ ਚੁਣ ਲਏ (ਭਾਵ ਸਮੇਟ ਲਏ) ॥੨੧॥
She girded up her lions and tucked the arrows in there.(21)
ਬਪੋਸ਼ੀਦਜ਼ਰਬਫ਼ਤਰੂਮੀਕਬਾਇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਰੰਗ ਦਾ ਰੂਮੀ ਬਾਣਾ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ
Adoring the dress of the country of Rome,
ਬਜ਼ੀਂਬਰਨਿਸ਼ਸਤੋਬਿਆਮਦਬਜਾਇ॥੨੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਦੀ ਕਾਠੀ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਈ ॥੨੨॥
She mounted the horse.(22)
ਰਵਾਸ਼ੁਦਸੂਏਸ਼ਾਹਿਮਗ਼ਰਬਚੁਬਾਦ॥
ਉਹ ਪੱਛਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਲ ਹਵਾ ਦੀ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਚਲ ਪਈ
Galloping in the winds, she approached the Raja of the West,
ਕਮਾਨੇਕਿਯਾਨੀਬਤਰਕਸ਼ਨਿਹਾਦ॥੨੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਥਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ) ਰਖ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੩॥
With Kiani Clan’s quiver full of arrows at her back.(23)
ਬਪੇਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਹੇਮਗ਼ਰਬਆਮਦਦਲੇਰ॥
ਉਹ ਪੱਛਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬੜੀ ਦਲੇਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਗਈ
She faced the Raja with great courage,
ਚੁਗ਼ੁਰਰੀਦਹਬਬਰੋਚੁਦਰਰਿੰਦਹਸ਼ੇਰ॥੨੪॥
(ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ) ਤੂੰ ਬਦਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਗਜਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਚੀਰਦਾ ਪਾੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨੪॥
But she, who used to roar like the thundering clouds and carnivorous lions,(24)
ਦੁਆਕਰਦਕਿਏਸ਼ਾਹਿਆਜ਼ਾਦਬਖ਼ਤ॥
ਸਲਾਮੀ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਹੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ!
Bowed in greeting and said, ‘Oh! You the fortunate Raja,
ਸਜ਼ਾਵਾਰਦੇਹੀਮੁਸਾਯਾਨਤਖ਼ਤ॥੨੫॥
ਤੂੰ ਤਾਜ ਤੇ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਦੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਹੈਂ ॥੨੫॥
‘Worthy of Royal Throne and the Royal Canopy.(25)
ਮਰਾਕਾਹੀਯਾਆਮਦਅਜ਼ਬਹਰਕਾਹ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਘਾਹੀ ਘਾਹ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਸਨ।
‘My grass-cutters had come to shear the grass,
ਦੋਸੇਸਦਸਵਾਰੋਯਕਅਜ਼ਸ਼ਕਲਸ਼ਾਹਿ॥੨੬॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋ ਤਿੰਨ ਸੌ ਘੋੜ ਸਵਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਜੁਲਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ ॥੨੬॥
‘They were riding hundreds of horses and one of them looked like the Prince.(26)
ਕਿਬਿਹਤਰਹੁਮਾਨਸਤਆਂਰਾਬਿਦਿਹ॥
ਚੰਗਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਦੇ,
‘You better send them back,
ਵਗਰਨਹਖ਼ੁਦਸ਼ਮੌਤਬਰਸਰਬਿਨਿਹ॥੨੭॥
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਆਈ ਲੈ ॥੨੭॥
“Otherwise, there will be a call for your death.(27)
ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦੇਜ਼ਿਮਨਸ਼ਾਹਿਗਰਈਂਸੁਖ਼ਨ॥
ਜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ
“If my King heard this from me,
ਹੁਮਾਨਾਤੁਰਾਬੇਖ਼ਬਰਕੰਦਬੁਨ॥੨੮॥
ਤਾਂ ਸਚਮੁਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਮੁਢੋਂ ਪੁਟ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ॥੨੮॥
“He would come to uproot you.”(28)
ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਈਂਸੁਖ਼ਨਸ਼ਾਹਿਫ਼ੌਲਾਦਤਨ॥
ਜਦ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਫ਼ੌਲਾਦੀ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੁਣੀ,
The Raja of iron will heard this,
ਬਲਰਜ਼ੀਦਬਰਖ਼ੁਦਚੁਬਰਗ਼ੇਸਮਨ॥੨੯॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਚੰਬੇਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਤੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਕੰਬਣ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੯॥
And started to tremble like the leaves of jasmine shrubs.(29)
ਚੁਨਾਜੰਗਕਰਦੰਦਈਂਕਾਹੀਯਾ॥
(ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
The Raja thought, ‘If these grass-cutters had given such a tough fight,
ਨਦਾਨਮਮਗ਼ਰਸ਼ਾਹਿਬਾਸ਼ਦਜਵਾ॥੩੦॥
ਤਾਂ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੩੦॥
‘Then their King must a very brave man.(30)
ਨਦਾਨਮਕਸੇਸ਼ਾਹਿਹਸਤਸ਼ਜਵਾ॥
ਜੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਇਤਨਾ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਹੈ,
‘I did not perceive that their King was so brave,
ਕਿਮਾਰਾਬਿਗੀਰਦਜਿਮਾਯੰਦਰਾ॥੩੧॥
ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਪਤਾ ਇਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇ ॥੩੧॥
‘That he would drag me, even, out of hell.’(31)
ਜ਼ਿਪੇਸ਼ੀਨਹੇਸ਼ਹਵਜ਼ੀਰਾਬੁਖਾਦ॥
ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਜ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ
The Raja called his Counsellors,
ਸੁਖ਼ਨਹਾਇਪੋਸ਼ੀਦਹਬਾਓਬਿਰਾਦ॥੩੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਪਤ ਗੱਲ-ਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੩੨॥
And had a secret conversation with them,(32)
ਤੁਦੀਦੀਚੁਨਾਕਾਹੀਯਾਜੰਗਕਰਦ॥
(ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ) ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਜੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ
‘Oh! My Counsellors, you have seen the grass-cutters fighting so vigorously,
ਕਿਅਜ਼ਮੁਲਕਯਜ਼ਦਾਬਰਾਵੁਰਦਗਰਦ॥੩੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੩॥
‘And the havoc they had brought to this God’s country.(33)
ਮੁਬਾਦਾਕੁਨਦਤਾਖ਼ਤਬਰਮੁਲਕਸਖ਼ਤ॥
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।
‘God forbid, if that King raided, then this country would be ruined.
ਦਿਹਮਕਾਹੀਯਾਰਾਅਜ਼ਾਨੇਕਬਖ਼ਤ॥੩੪॥
(ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇ) ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇਕ-ਬਖ਼ਤ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਦੇਈਏ ॥੩੪॥
‘I should return the grass-cutters to this lucky one.’(34)
ਹੁਮਾਸ਼ਾਹਿਮਹਿਬੂਸ਼ੀਯਾਪੇਸ਼ਖਾਦ॥
ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਕੈਦ ਘਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
The Raja immediately called the tied-up grass-cutter (the Prince),
