ਕਿਲਾਗ਼ਰਚਰਾਗਸ਼ਤੀਏਜਾਨਮਾ॥੩੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ॥੩੦॥
Facially you look so weak?(30)
ਅਜ਼ਾਰਸ਼ਬੁਗੋਤਾਇਲਾਜੇਕੁਨਮ॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ) ਦੁਖ ਦਸੋ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਾਂ।
‘Tell us about your afflictions so that we can suggest you remedies.
ਕਿਮਰਜ਼ੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰਾਖ਼ਿਰਾਜ਼ੇਕੁਨਮ॥੩੧॥
ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਰਜ਼ ਲਈ ਦਵਾ ਦਿਆਂ ॥੩੧॥
‘We may be able to prescribe some medicine.’(31)
ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਈਂਸੁਖ਼ਨਰਾਨਦਾਦਸ਼ਜਵਾਬ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਵਾਬ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
Both listened but did not try to respond,
ਫ਼ਰੋਬੁਰਦਹਰਦੋਤਨੇਇਸ਼ਕਤਾਬ॥੩੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦੀ ਝਾਲ ਨਾ ਝਲਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ (ਗਰਦਨਾਂ) ਨੀਵੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ ॥੩੨॥
And hung their heads under the stress of love.(32)
ਚੁਗੁਜ਼ਰੀਦਬਰਵੈਦੁਸੇਚਾਰਰੋਜ਼॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਦੋ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ
When two, three or four days had lapsed,
ਬਰਾਮਦਦੁਤਨਹਰਦੋਗੇਤੀਫ਼ਰੋਜ਼॥੩੩॥
ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਗਏ (ਭਾਵ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੋਣ ਲਗੀਆਂ) ॥੩੩॥
Both the bodies became conspicuous in love.(33)
ਬਰੋਦੂਰਗਸ਼ਤੰਦਤਿਫ਼ਲੀਗ਼ੁਬਾਰ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਬਚਪਨ ਦਾ ਗ਼ੁਬਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
The innocent childhood emotions were decimated,
ਕਿਮੁਹਰਸ਼ਬਰਆਵੁਰਦਚੂੰਨੌਬਹਾਰ॥੩੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁਤ ਵਾਂਗ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਚਮਕ ਪਿਆ ॥੩੪॥
And the new sun came out with fresh inception.(34)
ਵਜ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਜ਼ਲਸ਼ਬੂਦਦੁਖ਼ਤਰਯਕੇ॥
ਉਸ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ (ਮੌਲਵੀ) ਦੀ ਇਕ ਲੜਕੀ ਸੀ
She (the girl) was the daughter of a very genius,
ਕਿਸੂਰਤਜਮਾਲਅਸਤਦਾਨਸ਼ਬਸ਼ੇ॥੩੫॥
ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਸੀ ॥੩੫॥
And she was extremely pretty and intelligent.(35)
ਸ਼ਨਾਸੀਦਓਰਾਜ਼ਿਹਾਲਤਵਜ਼ਾ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ
He (the boy) had recognised her from her apparent condition,
ਬਗ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਸ਼ਦਰੂੰਖ਼ਿਲਵਤਸ਼ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਜ਼ੁਬਾ॥੩੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਕਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਲੜਕੀ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿੱਠੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਛਿਆ ॥੩੬॥
He took her in seclusion and cordially said,(36)
ਕਿਏਸਰਵਕਦਮਾਹਰੋਸੀਮਤਨ॥
ਹੇ ਸਰੂ ਦੇ ਕਦ ਵਰਗੀ, ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁਖ ਵਾਲੀ
‘O you, the one as tall as cypress tree, moon-faced and silvery body,
ਚਰਾਗ਼ੇਫ਼ਲਕਆਫ਼ਤਾਬੇਯਮਨ॥੩੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਵੰਨੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਾਲੀ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਦੀਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਵਰਗੇ ਤੇਜ ਵਾਲੀ! ॥੩੭॥
‘You the light of the skies and sun of Yaman,(37)
ਜੁਦਾਈਮਰਾਅਜ਼ਤੁਰਾਕਤਰਹਨੇਸਤ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਅੰਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
‘I cannot live without you, even for a moment.
ਬਦੀਦਨਦੁਕਾਲਬਬਗ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਮਯਕੇਸਤ॥੩੮॥
ਵੇਖਣ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੋ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਿਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕ ਹਾਂ ॥੩੮॥
‘May be we seem to be two bodies but we are one.(38)
ਬਮਨਹਾਲਗੋਤਾਚਿਗੁਜ਼ਰਦਤੁਰਾ॥
ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਾਲ ਦਸ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ।
‘You tell me, how are you savouring?
ਕਿਸੋਜ਼ਦਹਮਹਜਾਨਜਿਗਰੇਮਰਾ॥੩੯॥
(ਤੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਹਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਗਰ ਸੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੯॥
‘My mind and body are always yearning for you.(39)
ਕਿਪਿਨਹਾਸੁਖ਼ਨਕਰਦਯਾਰਾਖ਼ਤਾਸਤ॥
ਜੋ ਯਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਗੱਲ ਲੁਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
‘To hide the fact from friends is erroneous.
ਅਗਰਰਾਸਗੋਈਤੁਬਰਮਨਰਵਾਸਤ॥੪੦॥
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਚ ਦਸਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ॥੪੦॥
‘To reveal the truth will be congenial for you and me.(40)
ਕਿਦੀਗਰਬਗੋਯਮਮਰਾਰਾਸਤਗੋ॥
ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਚ ਦਸ ਦੇ, ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਸਾਂਗੀ।
‘If you reveal the truth to me, I will never betray,
ਕਿਅਜ਼ਖ਼ੂਨਜਿਗਰੇਮਰਾਤੋਬਿਸ਼ੋ॥੪੧॥
(ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਗਰ ਦਾ ਖ਼ੂਨ ਧੋ ਦੇ ॥੪੧॥
‘And I swear this on my life.(41)
ਸੁਖ਼ਨਦੁਜ਼ਦਗੀਕਰਦਯਾਰਾਖ਼ਤਾਸਤ॥
ਯਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਪਾਣਾ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਹੈ।
‘To hide the fact from the friends is a sin,
ਅਮੀਰਾਨਦੁਜ਼ਦੀਵਜ਼ੀਰਾਖ਼ਤਾਸਤ॥੪੨॥
ਵਜ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਗੱਲ ਲੁਕਾਣਾ ਪਾਪ ਹੈ ॥੪੨॥
‘Like the minister keeping secret from the king.(42)
ਸੁਖ਼ਨਗੁਫ਼ਤਨੇਰਾਸਤਗ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਨਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਅਸਤ॥
(ਮਿਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਦਸਣੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
‘It is always beneficial to reveal and tell the fact.
ਕਿਹਕਗੁਫ਼ਤਨੋਹਮਚੁਸਾਫ਼ੀਦਿਲਅਸਤ॥੪੩॥
ਸਚ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੩॥
‘Speaking the truth is the norm of a truthful mind.’(43)
ਬਸੇਬਾਰਗ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਸ਼ਜਵਾਬੋਨਦਾਦ॥
(ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੇ) ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਪੁਛਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਸ (ਲੜਕੀ) ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He asked repeatedly but there was no reply,
ਜਵਾਬੇਜ਼ੁਬਾਸੁਖ਼ਨਸ਼ੀਰੀਕੁਸ਼ਾਦ॥੪੪॥
ਗੱਲ ਪੁਛਣ ਲਈ (ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੇ) ਬੜੀਆਂ ਮਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਮਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ॥੪੪॥
Although she had expressed to seek truth.(44)
ਯਕੇਮਜਲਿਸਆਰਾਸਤਬਾਰੋਦਜਾਮ॥
(ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਮਜਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਗ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਵੀ ਪੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
Then he arranged a social gathering with so much music, and a drinking spree,
ਕਿਹਮਮਸਤਸ਼ੁਦਮਜਲਸੇਓਤਮਾਮ॥੪੫॥
ਉਸ ਮਜਲਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੪੫॥
In which every one present in the assembly got drunk.(45)
ਬਕੈਫ਼ਸ਼ਹਮਹਹਮਚੁਆਵੇਖ਼ਤੰਦ॥
ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
They all were getting so much intoxicated,
ਕਿਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੇਜਿਗਰਬਾਜ਼ੁਬਾਰੇਖ਼ਤੰਦ॥੪੬॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਗਰ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪੬॥
That what ever there was in their hearts, they were blabbing out.(46)
ਸੁਖ਼ਨਬਾਜ਼ੁਬਾਹਮਚੁਗੋਯਦਮੁਦਾਮ॥
ਸਭ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਗ ਪਏ,
Their tongues were constantly reiterating,
ਨਗੋਯਦਬਜੁਜ਼ਸੁਖ਼ਨਮਹਬੂਬਨਾਮ॥੪੭॥
ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੜਕੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਬੂਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਭਿੰਨ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ॥੪੭॥
And except their lovers’ names, they were uttering nothing.(47)
ਦਿਗ਼ਰਮਜਲਿਸਆਰਾਸਤਬਾਰੋਦਚੰਗ॥
(ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਮਜਲਿਸ ਬੁਲਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਜੇ ਗਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਸੀ।
Then the daughter of Maulana, arranged another social,
ਜਵਾਨਾਨਸ਼ਾਇਸਤਹੇਖ਼ੂਬਰੰਗ॥੪੮॥
ਇਹ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੀ ॥੪੮॥
Which was just for the colourful young and handsome.(48)
ਹਮਹਮਸਤਖ਼ੋਸ਼ੁਦਹਮਹਖ਼ੂਬਮਸਤ॥
ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਸੁਭਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਗ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
All of them became tipsy and inebriated,
ਇਨਾਨੇਫ਼ਜ਼ੀਲਤਬਰੂੰਸ਼ੁਦਜ਼ਿਦਸਤ॥੪੯॥
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਗਾਂ ਛੁਟ ਗਈਆਂ ॥੪੯॥
And passed over the limits if intellectuals.(49)
ਹਰਾਕਸਕਿਅਜ਼ਇਲਮਸੁਖ਼ਨਸ਼ਬਿਰਾਦ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਲਮ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਚਲਾਈ,
Any one who wanted to talk to them about education,
ਕਿਅਜ਼ਬੇਖ਼ੁਦੀਨਾਮਹਰਦੋਬੁਖਾਦ॥੫੦॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਸਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੫੦॥
They, being drunk, kept on repeating their lovers’ names.(50)
ਚੁਇਲਮੋਫ਼ਜ਼ੀਲਤਫਰਾਮੋਸ਼ਗਸ਼ਤ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਇਲਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਉਹ ਭੁਲ ਗਏ,
As the intellect and the presence of mind flew away,
ਬੁਖ਼ਾਦੰਦਬਾਯਕਦਿਗ਼ਰਨਾਮਮਸਤ॥੫੧॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੋਲਣ ਲਗ ਗਏ ॥੫੧॥
They kept on reciting each other’s names only.(51)
ਹਰਾਕਸਕਿਦੇਰੀਨਹਰਾਹਸਤਦੋਸਤ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਮਿਤਰ ਸੀ,
Every one who had some old friend,
ਜ਼ੁਬਾਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ਾਯਿੰਦਹਅਜ਼ਨਾਮਓਸਤ॥੫੨॥
ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੫੨॥
Would keep on repeating friends name again and again.(52)
ਸ਼ਨਾਸ਼ਿਦਕਿਈਂਗੁਲਸੁਖ਼ਨਆਸ਼ਕਅਸਤ॥
(ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੇ) ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਫੁਲ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਆਸ਼ਕ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
As with such an action one was acknowledged as the lover,
ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤਨਹੁਮਾਯੂੰਸੁਬਕਤਨਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਅਸਤ॥੫੩॥
ਉਹ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੇ ਮਿਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਹਨ ॥੫੩॥
Who could speak cordially and looked handsome and happy.(53)
ਕਿਅਜ਼ਇਸ਼ਕਵਅਜ਼ਮੁਸ਼ਕਅਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਰਖ਼ੂੰ॥
ਇਸ਼ਕ, ਮੁਸ਼ਕ, ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ੂਨ
Those, who were imbued in love and smelled liquor,
