ਸਾਧਅਸਾਧਜਾਨੋਨਹੀਬਾਦਸੁਬਾਦਬਿਬਾਦਿ॥
ਮੈਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਦ-ਵਿਵਾਦ ਤੇ ਸੁਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
The saint be not considered as unsaintly ever and the debate as controversial ever
ਗ੍ਰੰਥਸਕਲਪੂਰਣਕੀਯੋਭਗਵਤਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥੮੬੨॥
ਬਸ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੮੬੨॥
This whole Granth (book) has been completed by the Grace of God.862.

ਪਾਂਇਗਹੇਜਬਤੇਤੁਮਰੇਤਬਤੇਕੋਊਆਂਖਤਰੇਨਹੀਂਆਨ੍ਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜੇ ਹਨ ਤਦ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ (ਹੋਰ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ।
O God! the day when I caught hold of your feet, I do not bring anyone else under my sight
ਰਾਮਰਹੀਮਪੁਰਾਨਕੁਰਾਨਅਨੇਕਕਹੈਂਮਤਏਕਨਮਾਨ੍ਯੋ॥
ਰਾਮ, ਰਹੀਮ, ਪੁਰਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮੱਤ ਕਹੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। (ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ) ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ।
None other is liked by me now the Puranas and the Quran try to know Thee by the names of Ram and Rahim and talk about you through several stories,
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਬੇਦਸਭੈਬਹੁਭੇਦਕਹੈਂਹਮਏਕਨਜਾਨ੍ਯੋ॥
ਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ, ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੇਦ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
The Simritis, Shastras and Vedas describe several mysteries of yours, but I do not agree with any of them.
ਸ੍ਰੀਅਸਿਪਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੁਮਰੀਕਰਿਮੈਨਕਹ੍ਯੋਸਭਤੋਹਿਬਖਾਨ੍ਯੋ॥੮੬੩॥
ਹੇ ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ (ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ)। (ਇਹ) ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸਾਰਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਕਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੮੬੩॥
O sword-wielder God! This all has been described by Thy Grace, what power can I have to write all this?.863.

ਸਗਲਦੁਆਰਕਉਛਾਡਿਕੈਗਹਿਓਤੁਹਾਰੋਦੁਆਰ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਦਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਰ ਫੜਿਆ ਹੈ।
O Lord! I have forsaken all other doors and have caught hold of only Thy door. O Lord! Thou has caught hold of my arm
ਬਾਂਹਿਗਹੇਕੀਲਾਜਅਸਗੋਬਿੰਦਦਾਸਤੁਹਾਰ॥੮੬੪॥
ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜੇ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਹੈ, ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ ॥੮੬੪॥
I, Govind, am Thy serf, kindly take (care of me and) protect my honour.864.

ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜੈਸਭਾਤਿਬਪੁਧਰਿਯੋਮੁਰਾਰੂ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ) ਸਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
No I describe the Krishna incarnation as to how he assumed the physical form
ਪਰਮਪਾਪਤੇਭੂਮਿਡਰਾਨੀ॥
ਘੋਰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਭੈ ਭੀਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ
ਡਗਮਗਾਤਬਿਧਤੀਰਿਸਿਧਾਨੀ॥੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਡਗਮਗਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕੋਲ ਗਈ ॥੧॥
The earth, with unsteady gait, reached near the Lord.1.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਗਯੋਛੀਰਨਿਧਿਜਹਾ॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ (ਉਥੇ) ਗਿਆ ਜਿਥੇ ਛੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੀ,
ਕਾਲਪੁਰਖਇਸਥਿਤਥੇਤਹਾ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) 'ਕਾਲ-ਪੁਰਖ' ਉਥੇ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਸਨ।
Amidst the milk-ocean, where the Immanent Lord was seated, Brahma reached there
ਕਹਿਯੋਬਿਸਨੁਕਹੁਨਿਕਟਿਬੁਲਾਈ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ,
ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਅਵਤਾਰਧਰਹੁਤੁਮਜਾਈ॥੨॥
"ਤੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ॥੨॥
The Lord called Vishnu near Him and said, “You go to the earth and assume the form of Krishna incarnation.2.

ਕਾਲਪੁਰਖਕੇਬਚਨਤੇਸੰਤਨਹੇਤਸਹਾਇ॥
ਕਾਲ-ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ
ਮਥੁਰਾਮੰਡਲਕੇਬਿਖੈਜਨਮੁਧਰੋਹਰਿਰਾਇ॥੩॥
ਮਥੁਰਾ ਖੇਤਰ ('ਮੰਡਲ') ਵਿਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
Vishnu took birth in Mathura area for the welfare of saints, on receiving the orders of the Loard.3.

ਜੇਜੇਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਦਿਖਾਏ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕੌਤਕ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਖਾਏ
ਦਸਮਬੀਚਸਭਭਾਖਿਸੁਨਾਏ॥
(ਉਹ) ਸਾਰੇ (ਭਾਗਵਤ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਦੇ) ਦਸਵੇਂ (ਸਕੰਧ ਵਿਚ) ਕਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
The sportive plays exhibited by Krishna, have been described in the tenth skandh
ਗ੍ਯਾਰਾਸਹਸਬਾਨਵੇਛੰਦਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਯਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੌ ਬਾਨਵੇਂ ਛੰਦ
ਕਹੇਦਸਮਪੁਰਬੈਠਿਅਨੰਦਾ॥੪॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਕਹੇ ਹਨ। (ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਉਂਟਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਕਹੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ) ॥੪॥
There are eleven thousand and ninety-two stanzas in respect of Krishna incarnation in the tenth skandh.4.
ਅਥਦੇਵੀਜੂਕੀਉਸਤਤਕਥਨੰ॥
ਹੁਣ ਦੇਵੀ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਆਰੰਭ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Now begins the description in praise of the goddess

ਹੋਇਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੁਮਰੀਹਮਪੈਤੁਸਭੈਸਗਨੰਗੁਨਹੀਧਰਿਹੋਂ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
On receiving Thy Grace, I shall assume all the virtues
ਜੀਅਧਾਰਿਬਿਚਾਰਤਬੈਬਰਬੁਧਿਮਹਾਅਗਨੰਗੁਨਕੋਹਰਿਹੋਂ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
I shall destroy all the vices, ruminating on Thy attributes in my mind
ਬਿਨੁਚੰਡਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੁਮਰੀਕਬਹੂੰਮੁਖਤੇਨਹੀਅਛਰਹਉਕਰਿਹੋਂ॥
ਹੇ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੇ ਇਕ ਅੱਖਰ ਵੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕਢ ਸਕਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।
O Chandi! I cannot utter a syllable from my mouth without Thy Grace
ਤੁਮਰੋਕਰਿਨਾਮੁਕਿਧੋਤੁਲਹਾਜਿਮਬਾਕਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਬਿਖੈਤਰਿਹੋਂ॥੫॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਵਿਤਾ ('ਬਾਕ') ਰੂਪੀ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੫॥
I can ferry across the ocean of Poesy, on only the boat of Thy Name.5.

ਰੇਮਨਭਜਤੂੰਸਾਰਦਾਅਨਗਨਗੁਨਹੈਜਾਹਿ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ।
O mind! Remember the goddess Sharda of innumerable qualities
ਰਚੌਗ੍ਰੰਥਇਹਭਾਗਵਤਜਉਵੈਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕਰਾਹਿ॥੬॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ, (ਤਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ) ਇਸ ਭਾਗਵਤ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੬॥
And if she be kind, I may compose this Granth (based on) Bhagavata.6.

ਸੰਕਟਹਰਨਸਭਸਿਧਿਕੀਕਰਨਚੰਡਤਾਰਨਤਰਨਅਰੁਲੋਚਨਬਿਸਾਲਹੈ॥
ਚੰਡਿਕਾ (ਦੁਰਗਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ (ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਿੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ, (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
The large-eyed Chandika is the remover of all sufferings, the donor of powers and support of the helpless in ferrying across the fearful ocean of the world
ਆਦਿਜਾਕੈਆਹਮਹੈਅੰਤਕੋਨਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਸਰਨਿਉਬਾਰਨਕਰਨਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਹੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਢ ਦਾ (ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾ ਸਕਣਾ) ਕਠਿਨ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ) ਅੰਤ ਦਾ ਆਰ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, (ਜੋ) ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ,
It is difficult to know her beginning and end, she emancipates and sustains him, who takes refuge in her,
ਅਸੁਰਸੰਘਾਰਨਅਨਿਕਦੁਖਜਾਰਨਸੋਪਤਿਤਉਧਾਰਨਛਡਾਏਜਮਜਾਲਹੈ॥
(ਜੋ) ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੜਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
She destroys the demons, finishes various types of desires and saves from the noose of death
ਦੇਵੀਬਰੁਲਾਇਕਸੁਬੁਧਿਹੂਕੀਦਾਇਕਸੁਦੇਹਬਰੁਪਾਇਕਬਨਾਵੈਗ੍ਰੰਥਹਾਲਹੈ॥੭॥
ਦੁਰਗਾ ਵਰ (ਦੇਣ) ਯੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਵਰ ਦੇਣ ਨਾਲ ਦਾਸ (ਇਸ) ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ ॥੭॥
The same goddess is capable of bestowing the boon and good intellect by her Grace this Granth can be composed.7.

ਜੋ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ (ਕਾਲੀ) ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ,
She, who is the daughter of the mountain and the destroyer of Mahishasura
