ਹੋਇਬਿਦਾਤਬਹੀਗੁਰਤੇਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਅਪੁਨੇਪੁਰਿਆਯੋ॥੮੯੧॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਏ ॥੮੯੧॥
Bringing the Guru’s son with him, Krishna bowed his head at the feet of the Guru and bidding him farewell, he came back to his city.891.

ਮਿਲੇਆਇਕੈਕੁਟੰਬਕੇਅਤਿਹੀਹਰਖਬਢਾਇ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੇ।
He came to meet his family, there was increase in the happiness of all
ਸੁਖਤਿਹਕੋਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿਭਯੋਚਿਤਵਨਗਈਪਰਾਇ॥੮੯੨॥
ਉਸ (ਸੰਦੀਪਨ) ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ। (ਅਰਥਾਂਤਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ) ॥੮੯੨॥
All felt comforted and th uncertainty was destroyed.892.
ਇਤਿਸਸਤ੍ਰਬਿਦਿਆਸੀਖਕੈਸੰਦੀਪਨਕੋਪੁਤ੍ਰਆਨਿਦੇਕਰਿਬਿਦਾਹੋਇਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੋਆਵਤਭਏਧਿਆਇਸਮਾਪਤੰ॥
ਇਥੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਸਿਖ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਦੀਪਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਲਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤ।

ਸੋਵਤਹੀਇਹਚਿੰਤਕਰੀਬ੍ਰਿਜਬਾਸਨਸਿਉਇਹਕਾਰਜਕਈਯੈ॥
(ਇਕ ਦਿਨ) ਸੌਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ (ਹਾਲ ਚਾਲ ਜਾਣਨ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
At the time of going to sleep, Krishna thought that he should do something for the residents of Braja
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਭਏਤੇਬੁਲਾਇਕੈਊਧਵਭੇਜਕਹਿਯੋਤਿਹਠਉਰਹਿਦਈਯੈ॥
ਸਵੇਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਊਧਵ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ (ਗੋਕਲ) ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਥੇ ਜਾਓ
Udhava be called early in the morning and sent to Braja,
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਜਾਇਸੰਤੋਖਕਰੈਸੁਸੰਤੋਖਕਰੈਹਮਰੀਧਰਮਮਈਯੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੀਰਜ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਧਰਮ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਕਰਾਓ।
So that he may convey words of comfort to his god-mother and the gopis and gopas
ਯਾਤੇਨਬਾਤਭਲੀਕਛੁਅਉਰਹੈਮੋਹਿਬਿਬੇਕਹਿਕੋਝਗਰਈਯੈ॥੮੯੩॥
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ) ਝਗੜਾਈਏ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਈਏ) ॥੮੯੩॥
And then there is no other way to solve the conflict of love and knowledge.893.
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਭਏਤੇਬੁਲਾਇਕੈਊਧਵਪੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਭੂਮਹਿਭੇਜਦਯੋਹੈ॥
ਸਵੇਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਊਧਵ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਭੂਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
When the day dawned, Krishna called Udhava and sent him to Braja
ਸੋਚਲਿਨੰਦਕੇਧਾਮਗਯੋਬਤੀਯਾਕਹਿਸੋਕਅਸੋਕਭਯੋਹੈ॥
ਉਹ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਕ ਤੋਂ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ ਹੈ।
He reached the house of Nand, where the grief of all was dispelled
ਨੰਦਕਹਿਯੋਸੰਗਿਊਧਵਕੇਕਬਹੂੰਹਰਿਜੀਮੁਹਿਚਿਤਕਯੋਹੈ॥
(ਉੱਤਰ ਵਿਚ) ਨੰਦ ਨੇ ਊਧਵ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਕੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Nand asked Udhava whether Krishna had ever remembered him
ਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਸੁਧਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਹਿਕੈਧਰਨੀਪਰਸੋਮੁਰਝਾਇਪਯੋਹੈ॥੮੯੪॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹ (ਨੰਦ) ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੮੯੪॥
Saying only this, he, on remembering Krishna, became unconscious and fell down on the earth.894.
ਜਬਨੰਦਪਰਿਯੋਗਿਰਭੂਮਿਬਿਖੈਤਬਯਾਹਿਕਹਿਯੋਜਦੁਬੀਰਅਏ॥
ਜਦ ਨੰਦ (ਬੇਸੁਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ, ਤਦ ਉਸ (ਊਧਵ) ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
When Nand fell down on the earth, Udhava said that the hero of Yadavas had come
ਸੁਨਿਕੈਬਤੀਯਾਉਠਿਠਾਢਭਯੋਮਨਕੇਸਭਸੋਕਪਰਾਇਗਏ॥
(ਇਹ) ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਨੰਦ) ਉਠ ਕੇ ਖੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗ਼ਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Hearing these words, forsaking his sorrow,
ਉਠਕੈਸੁਧਿਸੋਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਯੋਹਮਜਾਨਤਊਧਵਪੇਚਕਏ॥
(ਜਦ) ਉਠ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਨੰਦ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਊਧਵ ਨੇ ਛਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਜਕੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਕੋਪੁਰਬੀਚਗਏਫਿਰਿਕੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਮੈਨਹੀਸ੍ਯਾਮਅਏ॥੮੯੫॥
ਬ੍ਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ (ਮਥੁਰਾ) ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ (ਚਲੇ) ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ ਹਨ ॥੮੯੫॥
Nand stood up and said, “O Udava! I know that you and Krishna have deceived us because after abandoning Braja and going to the city, Krishna had never returned.895.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਗਏਤਜਿਕੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਕੋਬ੍ਰਿਜਲੋਗਨਕੋਅਤਿਹੀਦੁਖੁਦੀਨੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਬ੍ਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ (ਚਲੇ) ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
“Krishna, forsaking Braja, has given extreme grief to all the people
ਊਧਵਬਾਤਸੁਨੋਹਮਰੀਤਿਹਕੈਬਿਨੁਭਯੋਹਮਰੋਪੁਰਹੀਨੋ॥
ਹੇ ਊਧਵ! ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਗਰ ਸਖਣਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
O Udhava! without him, Braja has become poor
ਦੈਬਿਧਿਨੈਹਮਰੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਬਾਲਕਪਾਪਬਿਨਾਹਮਤੇਫਿਰਿਛੀਨੋ॥
ਸਾਡੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਕੇ, ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਦੇ, ਸਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਯੌਕਹਿਸੀਸਝੁਕਾਇਰਹਿਯੋਬਹੁਸੋਕਬਢਿਯੋਅਤਿਰੋਦਨਕੀਨੋ॥੮੯੬॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੋਇਆ ॥੮੯੬॥
“The Lord-God gave a son in our house, but we do not know, for which sin of our he has snatched him from us?” Saying this Nand bowed his head and began to weep.896.
ਕਹਿਕੈਇਹਬਾਤਪਰਿਯੋਧਰਿਪੈਉਠਿਫੇਰਿਕਹਿਯੋਸੰਗਊਧਵਇਉ॥
ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ (ਨੰਦ) ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਹੋਸ਼ ਪਰਤਣ ਤੇ) ਫਿਰ ਉਠਕੇ ਊਧਵ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ
ਤਜਿਕੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਸ੍ਯਾਮਗਏਮਥੁਰਾਹਮਸੰਗਕਹੋਕਬਕਾਰਨਿਕਿਉ॥
ਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ, ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦਸ।
Saying this, he fell down on the earth and getting up again, he said to Udhava, “O Udhava! tell me the reason why Krishna has left Braja and has gone to Matura?
ਤੁਮਰੇਅਬਪਾਇਲਗੋਉਠਕੈਸੁਭਈਬਿਰਥਾਸੁਕਹੋਸਭਜਿਉ॥
ਮੈਂ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਹੇ ਊਧਵ!) ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਜਿਉਂ (ਦਾ ਤਿਉਂ) ਬ੍ਰਿੱਤਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਾ।
“I fall at your feet, you should give me all details
ਤਿਹਤੇਨਹੀਲੇਤਕਛੂਸੁਧਿਹੈਮੁਹਿਪਾਪਿਪਛਾਨਿਕਛੂਰਿਸਸਿਉ॥੮੯੭॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ) ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਖਬਰ ਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਂਦੇ ॥੮੯੭॥
For what sin of mine, Krishna does not communicate with me?”897.
ਸੁਨਿਕੈਤਿਨਊਧਵਯੌਬਤੀਯਾਇਹਭਾਤਨਿਸਿਉਤਿਹਉਤਰਦੀਨੋ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਉਸ (ਨੰਦ) ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਬਸੁਦੇਵ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ,
ਥੋਸੁਤਸੋਬਸੁਦੇਵਹਿਕੋਤੁਮਤੇਸਭਪੈਪ੍ਰਭਜੂਨਹੀਛੀਨੋ॥
ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵਿਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਖੋਹਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Hearing these words, Udhava replied, “He was actually the son of Vasudev, the Lord-God has not snatched him from you,”
ਸੁਨਿਕੈਪੁਰਿਕੋਪਤਿਯੌਬਤੀਯਾਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਉਸਾਸਕਹੈਤਿਨਲੀਨੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਊਧਵ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਨੰਦ ('ਪੁਰਿ ਕੇ ਪਤਿ') ਨੇ ਹੌਕਾ ਲਿਆ।
Hearing this, Nand heaved a cold sigh and lost patience
ਧੀਰਗਯੋਛੁਟਿਰੋਵਤਭਯੋਇਨਹੂੰਤਿਹਦੇਖਤਰੋਦਨਕੀਨੋ॥੮੯੮॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਧੀਰਜ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਣ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ (ਨੂੰ ਰੋਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ) ਰੋਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੮੯੮॥
And seeing towards Udhava, he began to weep.898.
ਹਠਿਊਧਵਕੈਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਯੋਪੁਰਕੇਪਤਿਸੋਕਛੁਸੋਕਨਕੀਜੈ॥
ਹਠ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਊਧਵ ਨੇ (ਨੰਦ ਨੂੰ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਗ਼ਮ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
Udhava said persistently, “O Lord of Braja! do not be sorrowful
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੀਮੁਹਿਜੋਬਤੀਯਾਤਿਹਕੀਬਿਰਥਾਸਭਹੀਸੁਨਿਲੀਜੈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ।
Whatever Krishna has asked me to convey to you, all of you may listen to me
ਜਾਕੀਕਥਾਸੁਨਿਹੋਤਖੁਸੀਮਨਦੇਖਤਹੀਜਿਸਕੋਮੁਖਜੀਜੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
“He, hering whose words, the mind is pleased and seeing whose face all receive life-force,
ਵਾਹਿਕਹਿਯੋਨਹਿਚਿੰਤਕਰੋਨਕਛੂਇਹਤੇਤੁਮਰੋਫੁਨਿਛੀਜੈ॥੮੯੯॥
ਉਸੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕੁਝ ਹਰਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੮੯੯॥
That Krishna has asked you to abandon all anxiety, you would lose nothing.”899.
ਸੁਨਿਕੈਇਮਊਧਵਤੇਬਤੀਯਾਫਿਰਿਊਧਵਕੋਸੋਊਪੂਛਨਲਾਗਿਯੋ॥
ਊਧਵ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਫਿਰ ਊਧਵ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਪੁਛਣ ਲਗਿਆ।
Hearing the talk of Udhava in this way, Nand further questioned Udhava and hearing the story of Krishna
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਕਥਾਸੁਨਿਚਿਤਕੇਬੀਚਹੁਲਾਸਬਢਿਓਸਭਹੀਦੁਖਭਾਗਿਯੋ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
All his grief was dispelled and happiness was increased in his mind
ਅਉਰਦਈਸਭਛੋਰਿਕਥਾਹਰਿਬਾਤਸੁਨੈਬੇਬਿਖੈਅਨੁਰਾਗਿਯੋ॥
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਥਾ (ਗੱਲ) ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ, (ਕੇਵਲ) ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
He forsook all other talk and absorbed himself in knowing about Krishna
ਧ੍ਯਾਨਲਗਾਵਤਜਿਉਜੁਗੀਯਾਇਹਤਿਉਹਰਿਧ੍ਯਾਨਕੇਭੀਤਰਪਾਗਿਯੋ॥੯੦੦॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੋਗੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਭਿਜ ਗਿਆ ॥੯੦੦॥
The way in which the yogis meditate, just like that he only concentrated on Krishna.900.
ਯੌਕਹਿਊਧਵਜਾਤਭਯੋਬ੍ਰਿਜਮੈਜਹਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਕੀਸੁਧਿਪਾਈ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕੇ) ਊਧਵ ਬ੍ਰਜ ਵਿਚ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਥੇ (ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸਾਰ ਲਈ।
After saying this, Udhava went to the village in order to apprise himself about the state of gopis
ਮਾਨਹੁਸੋਕਕੋਧਾਮਹੁਤੋਦ੍ਰੁਮਠਉਰਰਹੇਸੁਤਹਾਮੁਰਝਾਈ॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ (ਉਥੇ) ਸੋਗ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਵੀ ਮੁਰਝਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
All the Braja appeared to him as the abode of sorrow, there the trees and plants had withered with grief
ਮੋਨਰਹੀਗ੍ਰਿਹਬੈਠਿਤ੍ਰੀਯਾਮਨੋਯੌਉਪਜੀਇਹਤੇਦੁਚਿਤਾਈ॥
ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਮੌਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਚਿੱਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
The women were sitting silently in their houses
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੁਨੇਤੇਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ੍ਯਭਈਨਹਿਆਇਸੁਨੇਫਿਰਿਭੀਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੯੦੧॥
(ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ (ਦਾ ਨਾਂ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਆਇਆ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੯੦੧॥
They appeared to be entrapped in a great uncertainty, they became pleased when they heard about Krishna, but when they came to know this that he had not come, they felt anguish.901.

ਊਧਵਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਸੋਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਯੋਹਰਿਕੀਬਤੀਯਾਸੁਨਿਲੀਜੈ॥
ਊਧਵ ਨੇ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ।
Udhava said to the gopis, “Liston to me all about Krishna
ਮਾਰਗਜਾਹਿਕਹਿਯੋਚਲੀਯੈਜੋਊਕਾਜਕਹਿਯੋਸੋਊਕਾਰਜਕੀਜੈ॥
ਜੋ ਮਾਰਗ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਉਤੇ ਚਲੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੰਮ (ਉਸੇ ਨੇ) ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਓਹੀ ਕਰੋ।
The path on which he has asked you to tread, walk on it and whatever work he has asked you to do, you may do that
ਜੋਗਿਨਫਾਰਿਸਭੈਪਟਹੋਵਹੁਯੌਤੁਮਸੋਕਹਿਯੋਸੋਊਕਰੀਜੈ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਪਾੜ ਕੇ ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਓਹੀ ਕਰੋ।
“Tear our garments and become yogins and whatever is being said to you, you may do that
