ਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਨਿਹਾਰਕੈਰਾਮਕੀਓਰਿਧਵਾਇਤਹਾਰਥੁਜਾਇਪਰਿਯੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ (ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਬਲਰਾਮ ਵਲ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ।
The poet says that seeing towards Balram, he caused his chariot to run towards him and then fell upon him
ਤਜਿਸੰਕਨਿਸੰਕਹੁਇਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋਜਦੁਬੀਰਕਹਾਤਿਨਯੌਉਚਰਿਯੋ॥
ਸੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, 'ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਕਿਥੇ ਹੈ'।
Krishna said, “He is Dhan Singh, who fought fearlessly
ਧਨਿਹੈਧਨਸਿੰਘਬਲੀਹਰਿਕੇਸਮੁਹੇਲਰਿਕੈਭਵਸਿੰਧਤਰਿਯੋ॥੧੧੨੧॥
ਉਹ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ (ਜੋ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲੜ ਕੇ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਤਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੧੨੧॥
Bravo to him, who fought with him face to face and ferried across the world-ocean.”1121.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਸੋਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਮੁਖਤੇਪਰਲੋਕਸੁਲੋਕਰਹੇਸੁਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਰਹਿ ਆਏ।
Saying thus with affection, Krishna thought about his life in this and the next world
ਤੇਜਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਬਡੋਬਰਛਾਰਿਸਕੈਕਰਿਮੈਗਜਸਿੰਘਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਬਰਛਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ।
On this side Gaj Singh, in great fury took his terrific lance in his hand,
ਜਾਹੁਕਹਾਬਲਭਦ੍ਰਅਬੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਇਹਭਾਤਿਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, 'ਹੁਣ ਬਲਰਾਮ (ਤੂੰ) ਕਿਥੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ', ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਸੋਬਰਕੈਕਰਕੋਤਨਕੋਜਦੁਬੀਰਕੇਭ੍ਰਾਤਕੇਊਪਰਿਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥੧੧੨੨॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ (ਉਹ ਬਰਛਾ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ (ਬਲਰਾਮ) ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੧੨੨॥
And struck Balram saying this, “O Balram! where will you go now for your safety?”1122.
ਆਵਤਇਉਬਰਛਾਗਹਿਕੈਬਲਦੇਵਸੁਏਕਉਪਾਇਕਰਿਯੋਹੈ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਰਛੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਉਪਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸ੍ਯੰਦਨਪੈਨਿਹੁਰਿਯੋਤਬਹੀਛਤ੍ਰੀਤਰਿਹੁਇਇਹਭਾਤਿਅਰਿਯੋਹੈ॥
ਤਦ ਹੀ ਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਝੁਕ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਨੂੰ ਛਤਰੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Cathing the coming lance, Balram took this measure: seeing towards the horses, he spread himself there making himself like an umbrella
ਫੋਰਿਕੈਪਾਰਿਭਯੋਫਲਯੌਤਿਹਕੀਉਪਮਾਕਬਿਯੌਉਚਰਿਯੋਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਬਰਛੇ ਦਾ) ਫਲ ਛਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਫਾੜ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਚਾਰੀ ਹੈ,
ਮਾਨਹੁਕਲਿੰਦ੍ਰਕੇਸ੍ਰਿੰਗਹੁਤੇਨਿਕਸਿਯੋਅਹਿਕੋਫਨੁਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋਹੈ॥੧੧੨੩॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਕਲਿੰਦ੍ਰੀ (ਜਮਨਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਬਤ-ਸ੍ਰੋਤ) ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਏ ਸੱਪ ਦਾ ਫਣ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੨੩॥
The piercing point of the lance tearing the body to the other side is seen like an angry hooded snake looking from the top of a mountain.1123.
ਬਲਸੋਬਲਿਖੈਚਲਯੋਬਰਛਾਤਿਹਕੇਕਰਸੋਤਿਰਛਾਸੁਭ੍ਰਮਾਯੋ॥
ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬਰਛਾ ਖਿਚ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਰਛਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਘੁੰਮਾਇਆ।
Pulling out the lance with his strength, Balram revolved it slantingly
ਯੌਚਮਕਿਯੋਦਮਕਿਯੋਨਭਮੈਚੁਟੀਆਉਡਤੇਜੁਮਨੋਦਰਸਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਚਮਕਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਬੋਦੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਤੇਜ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
It flashed and waved in the sky in this way as if the top-knot of someone was waving
ਸ੍ਰੀਬਲਭਦ੍ਰਅਯੋਧਨਮੈਰਿਸਕੈਗਜਸਿੰਘਕੀਓਰਿਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਲ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)
Balram struck the same lance in the battlefield in great anger on Gaj Singh
ਮਾਨਹੁਕਾਲਪਰੀਛਤਕਉਜਮਦੰਡਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਕਿਧੋਚਮਕਾਯੋ॥੧੧੨੪॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਪਰੀਕਸ਼ਿਤ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ) ਯਮਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਡੰਡਾ ਚਮਕਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੨੪॥
The same lance being struck looked like the fatal fire sent by mighty Death to kill the king Parikshat.1124.
ਗਜਸਿੰਘਅਨੇਕਉਪਾਇਕੀਏਨਬਚਿਯੋਉਰਿਆਇਲਗਿਯੋਬਰਛਾਬਰਿ॥
ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਬਚਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਉਪਾ ਕੀਤੇ, ਪਰ ਬਚ ਨਾ ਸਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਉਹ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਬਰਛਾ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਲਗਿਆ।
Gaj Singh took several steps, but he could not save himself
ਭੂਪਬਿਲੋਕਤਹੈਸਿਗਰੇਧੁਨਿਸੀਸਹਹਾਕਹਿਮੀਚਤਹੈਕਰ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਧੁਣਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਇ-ਹਾਇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੱਥ ਮਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
The lance penetrated in his chest, all the kings saw it and they lamented, wringing their hands
ਘਾਉਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਲਗਿਯੋਤਿਹਕੋਮੁਰਛਾਇਪਰਿਯੋਨਤਜ੍ਯੋਕਰਤੇਸਰ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਲਗਿਆ, ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਡਿਗ) ਪਿਆ, ਪਰ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਬਾਣ ਨਾ ਛਡਿਆ।
He received a dreadful wound and became unconscious, but he did not let go the arrows from his hand
ਸ੍ਯੰਦਨਪੈਗਜਸਿੰਘਗਿਰਿਯੋਗਿਰਿਊਪਰਿਜਿਉਗਜਰਾਜਕਲੇਵਰ॥੧੧੨੫॥
ਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਬਤ ਉਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ (ਡਿਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧੧੨੫॥
Gaj Singh fell upon the horses of the chariot like the body of an elephant fallen on a mountain.1125.
ਚੇਤਭਯੋਤਬਹੀਗਜਸਿੰਘਸੰਭਾਰਿਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਕੁਵੰਡਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਚੇਤ ਹੋਇਆ, (ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ) ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਕਸ ਲਿਆ।
ਕਾਨਪ੍ਰਮਾਨਲਉਖੈਂਚਕੇਆਨਿਸੁਤਾਨਕੈਬਾਨਪ੍ਰਕੋਪਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਕੰਨ ਤਕ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ (ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ) ਆ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਤਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When he regained consciousness, Gaj Singh pulled his terrible bow and pulling its string upto his ear discharged the arrow in great rage
ਏਕਤੇਹੁਇਕੈਅਨੇਕਚਲੇਤਿਹਕੀਉਪਮਾਕਹੁਭਾਖਿਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ ਬਾਣ) ਇਕ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੇਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚਲੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ (ਕਵੀ) ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਉਨਕੇਭਛਕਤਛਕਲਛਕਲੈਬਲਿਕੀਸਰਨਾਗਤਿਆਯੋ॥੧੧੨੬॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਪੌਣ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਛਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਫਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਲੱਖਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਤੱਛਕ 'ਅਸਤੀਕ' ਰੂਪ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੨੬॥
Many arrows emanted from this arrow and not enduring the fury of these arrows Takashak, the king of the serpents alongwith all other serpents went to take refuge with Balram.1126.
ਬਾਨਨਏਕਲਗਿਯੋਬਲਿਕੋਗਜਸਿੰਘਤਬੈਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਯੋਹੈ॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਬਾਣ ਨਾ ਲਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ,
ਸੇਸਸੁਰੇਸਧਨੇਸਦਿਨੇਸਮਹੇਸਨਿਸੇਸਖਗੇਸਗਹਿਯੋਹੈ॥
ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਨਾਗ, ਇੰਦਰ, ਸੂਰਜ, ਕੁਬੇਰ, ਸ਼ਿਵ, ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ, ਗਰੁੜ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਨੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Thundering in the battlefield, Gaj Singh said, “I have captured all the deities like Sheshanaga, Indra, Surya (Sun-god), Kuber, Shiva, Chandra (moon-god), Garuda etc.
ਜੁਧਬਿਖੈਅਬਲਉਸੁਨਿਲੈਸੋਊਬੀਰਹਨ੍ਯੋਮਨਮੈਜੁਚਹਿਯੋਹੈ॥
(ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ, ਹੁਣ ਤਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਹੇ ਹਨ।
“Listen to me clearly I have killed in the battlefield,
ਏਕਅਚੰਭਵਹੈਮੁਹਿਦੇਖਤਤੋਤਨਮੈਕਸਜੀਵਰਹਿਯੋਹੈ॥੧੧੨੭॥
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਅਚੰਭਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧੨੭॥
Whomsoever I wanted to kill, but I wonder why you have survived still?”1127.
ਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਬਤੀਯਾਬਲਿਸੋਬਰਛਾਧੁਜਸੰਜੁਤਖੈਂਚਿਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਧੁਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਬਰਛਾ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਤਉਧਨੁਲੈਕਰਿਮੈਮੁਸਲੀਸੋਊਆਵਤਨੈਨਨਸੋਲਖਿਪਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ (ਬਰਛੇ) ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ।
Saying this, he pulled and threw his lance, which was seen by Balram who was holding his bow in his hand
ਉਗ੍ਰਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮਕੈਸੰਗਬਾਨਅਚਾਨਕਸੋਕਟਿਭੂਮਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥
ਬੜੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)
ਮਾਨਹੁਪੰਖਨਕੋਅਹਿਵਾਖਗਰਾਜਕੇਹਾਥਿਪਰਿਯੋਰਿਸਿਘਾਯੋ॥੧੧੨੮॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ (ਉਡਣਾ) ਸੱਪ ਗਰੁੜ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੨੮॥
With his great strength, he intercepted that lance and caused it to fall on the ground just like Garuda the king of birds catching and killing a flying serpent.1128.
ਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋਅਤਿਹੀਗਜਸਿੰਘਲਯੋਬਰਛਾਅਰਿਓਰਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਬਰਛਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਵਲ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
In great fury, Gaj Singh struck the lance on the enemy, which hit the body of Balram
ਜਾਇਲਗਿਯੋਮੁਸਲੀਧਰਕੇਤਨਿਲਾਗਤਤਾਅਤਿਹੀਦੁਖਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਾ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ (ਬਲਰਾਮ) ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ।
On receiving the blow of the lance, Balram suffered great agony
ਪਾਰਿਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਭਯੋਫਲਯੌਜਸੁਤਾਛਬਿਕੋਮਨਮੈਇਹਆਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਫਲ ਪਾਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼ (ਕਵੀ) ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਇਆ।
ਮਾਨਹੁਗੰਗਕੀਧਾਰਕੇਮਧਿਉਤੰਗਹੁਇਕੂਰਮਸੀਸਉਚਾਯੋ॥੧੧੨੯॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਗੰਗਾ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਚੇ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਕਛੂਏ ਨੇ ਸਿਰ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੨੯॥
That lance pierced through the body to the other side and its visible blade looked like tortoise protruding its head through the current of Ganges.1129.
ਲਾਗਤਸਾਗਕੀਸ੍ਰੀਬਲਭਦ੍ਰਸੁਸਯੰਦਨਤੇਗਹਿਖੈਚਕਢਿਯੋ॥
ਸਾਂਗ ਦੀ (ਸਟ) ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਰਥ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਮੁਰਝਾਇਕੈਭੂਮਿਪਰਿਯੋਨਮਰਿਯੋਸੁਰਬ੍ਰਿਛਗਿਰਿਯੋਮਨੋਜੋਤਿਮਢਿਯੋ॥
ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ, (ਪਰ) ਮਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਇੰਜ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਕਲਪ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ (ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ) ਜੋਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
Balram pulled out the lance from his body and drooping down he fell upon the earth just as the Elysian tree, fully enlightened, falls down on the earth
ਜਬਚੇਤਭਯੋਭ੍ਰਮਛੂਟਿਗਯੋਉਠਿਠਾਢੋਭਯੋਮਨਿਕੋਪੁਬਢਿਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਹੋਸ਼ ਆਈ ਤਾਂ ਭਰਮ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਖੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਸ ਗਿਆ।
When he regained his conscious, he, realizing the situation, got highly infuriated
ਰਥਹੇਰਕੈਧਾਇਚੜਿਯੋਬਰਸੋਗਿਰਿਪੈਮਨੋਕੂਦਕੈਸਿੰਘਚਢਿਯੋ॥੧੧੩੦॥
ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਉਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ। (ਇੰਜ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਕੁਦ ਕੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੩੦॥
Seeing the chariot, he jumped and mounted it like a lion jumping and ascending the mountain.1130.
ਪੁਨਿਆਇਭਿਰਿਯੋਗਜਸਿੰਘਸੋਬੀਰਬਲੀਮਨਮੈਨਹੀਨੈਕੁਡਰਿਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਆ ਕੇ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਾ ਡਰਿਆ।
ਧਨੁਬਾਨਸੰਭਾਰਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਦਾਰਿਸਿਬੀਚਅਯੋਧਨਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋ॥
ਧਨੁਸ਼, ਬਾਣ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ, ਗਦਾ (ਆਦਿਕ ਹਥਿਆਰ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
He came forward again and fought with Gaj Singh and controlling the bow and arrows, sword, mace etc., he began to strike blows
ਜੋਊਆਵਤਭਯੋਸਰੁਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੋਸੰਗਿਬਾਨਨਕੇਸੋਊਕਾਟਿਡਰਿਯੋ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਬਾਣ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He intercepted the arrows of the enemy with his own arrows
ਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਬਲਦੇਵਮਹਾਰਨਕੀਛਿਤਤੇਨਹੀਪੈਗਟਰਿਯੋ॥੧੧੩੧॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਹਾਨ (ਸੂਰਮਾ) ਬਲਰਾਮ ਰਣ ਦੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਕਦਮ ਵੀ ਪਿਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੧੩੧॥
The poet says that Balram did not retrace even one step in the battlefield.1131.
ਬਹੁਰੋਹਲਮੂਸਲਲੈਕਰਮੈਅਰਿਸਿਉਅਰਕੈਅਤਿਜੁਧਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਡਟ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਲੈਬਰਛਾਗਜਸਿੰਘਬਲੀਬਲਿਸਿਉਬਲਿਦੇਵਕੀਓਰਿਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਬਲਵਾਨ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ (ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ) ਬਰਛਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਵਲ ਚਲਾਇਆ।
Taking his plough and mace, Balram fought a dreadful battle and on this side Gaj Singh also threw his lance towards Balram
ਆਵਤਸੋਲਖਿਕੈਫਲਕੋਹਲਕਟਿਕੈਪੁਨਭੂਮਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਬਰਛੇ) ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਨੂੰ ਹਲ ਨਾਲ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਭੂਮੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Seeing the coming lance, Balram intercepted it with his plough and threw its blade on the ground
ਸੋਫਲਹੀਨਭਯੋਜਬਹੀਕਸਕੈਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰਕੇਗਾਤਿਲਗਾਯੋ॥੧੧੩੨॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਫਲ ਤੋਂ ਹੀਣਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ (ਤਾਂ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ) ਕਸ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੧੩੨॥
And that bladeless lance came and struck the body of Balram.1132.
ਖਗਕਰੰਗਹਿਕੈਗਜਸਿੰਘਅਨੰਤਕੇਊਪਰਿਕੋਪਿਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ('ਅਨੰਤ') ਉਪਰ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
