ਬਾਲਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਦਾਗਹਿਕੈਜਦੁਬੀਰਹੂੰਧਾਇਪਰਿਯੋਹੈ॥
ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ, ਗਦਾ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਧਾਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
All this talk of the enemy went deeper into the mind of Krishna, who in great anger fell upon him catching hold of his bow, sword, mace etc.
ਜੁਧਕੇਫੇਰਿਫਿਰਿਯੋਧਨਸਿੰਘਸਰਾਸਨੁਲੈਨਹੀਨੈਕੁਡਰਿਯੋਹੈ॥
ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਫਿਰ ਪਰਤਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਬਾਨਨਕੀਬਰਖਾਕਰਿਕੈਹਰਿਸਿਉਲਰਿਕੈਬਲਿਸਾਥਅਰਿਯੋਹੈ॥੧੧੧੫॥
ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ) ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਡਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੧੧੫॥
Dhan Singh also caught hold of his bow with fearless mind and turned again fro battle and stood firmly against Krishna.1115.
ਇਤਤੇਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰਸੁਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋਉਤਤੇਧਨਸਿੰਘਭਯੋਅਤਿਤਾਤੋ॥
ਇਧਰੋ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਧਰੋਂ ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
On this side Balram was filled with rage and on the other side Dhan Singh got reddened with fury
ਜੁਧਕੀਯੋਰਿਸਿਘਾਇਨਸੋਸੁਦੁਹੂੰਨਕੇਅੰਗਭਯੋਰੰਗਰਾਤੋ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਲਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Both of them fought and blood oozing out of their wounds reddened their bodies
ਮਾਰਹੀਮਾਰਪੁਕਾਰਿਪਰੇਅਰਿਭੂਲਿਗਈਮਨਕੀਸੁਧਿਸਾਤੋ॥
'ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ' ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਵੈਰੀ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਤੇ ਸੁਧਾਂ ਭੁਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The enemies forgetting the consciousness of their bodies and minds began to shoud “Kill, Kill”
ਰਾਮਕਹੈਇਹਭਾਤਿਲਰੈਹਰਿਸੋਹਰਿਜਿਉਗਜਸੋਗਜਮਾਤੋ॥੧੧੧੬॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੜੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਉਂ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਥੀ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧੧੬॥
The poet says that they fought like an elephant with an elephant.1116.
ਜੋਬਲਦੇਵਕਰੈਤਿਹਵਾਰਬਚਾਇਕੈਆਪਨੋਆਪੁਸੰਭਾਰੇ॥
ਜੋ ਬਲਰਾਮ (ਵਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ (ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ) ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
He was saving himself from the blow of Balram and there and then he was running and striking blows on him with his sword
ਲੈਕਰਮੋਅਸਿਦਉਰਿਤਬੈਕਸਿਕੈਬਲਊਪਰਘਾਇਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ॥
ਤਦ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਉਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Seeing his brother in trouble
ਬੀਰਪੈਭੀਰਲਖੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਸੁਜਾਦਵਲੈਰਿਪੁਓਰਸਿਧਾਰੇ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਭਰਾ ਉਤੇ ਭੀੜ ਬਣੀ ਵੇਖੀ, ਤਾਂ ਯਾਦਵ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਵਲ ਚਲ ਪਏ।
Krishna taking some Yadava warriors with him, moved to that side
ਘੇਰਿਲਯੋਧਨਸਿੰਘਤਬੈਨਿਸਮੈਸਸਿਕੀਢਿਗਜਿਉਲਖਤਾਰੇ॥੧੧੧੭॥
ਤਦ (ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਤਾਰੇ (ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧੧੧੭॥
He surrounded Dhan Singh like lakhs of stars on all the four sides of the moon.1117.
ਬੇੜਿਲਯੋਧਨਸਿੰਘਜਬੈਗਜਸਿੰਘਜੁਠਾਢੋਹੁਤੋਸੋਊਧਾਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ, (ਤਾਂ) ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੋ (ਉਥੇ) ਖੜੋਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
When Dhan Dingh was surrounded, then Gaj Singh who was standing near came there
ਸ੍ਰੀਬਲਦੇਵਲਖਿਯੋਤਬਹੀਚੜਿਸਯੰਦਨਵਾਹੀਕੀਓਰਿਧਵਾਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਲ ਭਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When Balram saw this, he mounted on his chariot and came to that side,
ਆਵਨਸੋਨਦਯੋਹਰਿਲਉਅਧਬੀਚਹੀਬਾਨਨਸੋਬਿਰਮਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅੱਧ ਵਿਚਾਲਿਓਂ ਹੀ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਲਝਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਠਾਢੋਰਹਿਯੋਗਜਸਿੰਘਤਹਾਸੁਮਨੋਗਜਕੇਪਗਿਸਾਕਰਪਾਯੋ॥੧੧੧੮॥
ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਰਿਹਾ। (ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਹਾਥੀ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਗਲ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੧੮॥
And he did not allow Gaj singh to reach there and intercepted him midway, Gaj Singh stopped there as if the feet of the elephant had been enchanined.1118.
ਧਨਸਿੰਘਸੋਸ੍ਰੀਹਰਿਜੁਧੁਕਰੇਕਬਿਰਾਮਕਹੈਕਹੂੰਜਾਤਨਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ (ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ) ਮਾਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
Krishna is fighting with Dhan Singh and none of them is being killed
ਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋਮਧੁਸੂਦਨਜੂਕਰਬੀਚਸੁਆਪਨੇਚਕ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਚੱਕਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ।
Now Krishna, greatly infuriated held up his discus in his discus in his hand
ਛਾਡਿਦਯੋਰਨਮੈਬਰਕੈਧਨਸਿੰਘਕੋਕਾਟਿਕੈਸੀਸਉਤਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He threw the discus, which cut off the head of Dhan Singh in the battlefield
ਯੌਤਰਫਿਯੋਧਰਭੂਮਿਬਿਖੈਮਨੋਮੀਨਸਰੋਵਰਤੇਗਹਿਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥੧੧੧੯॥
(ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ) ਧੜ ਭੂਮੀ ਉਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੜਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਨੋ ਮੱਛਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੧੧੯॥
He writhed on the earth like a fish taken out of the tank.1119.
ਮਾਰਿਲਯੋਧਨਸਿੰਘਜਬੈਤਬਹੀਲਖਿਜਾਦਵਸੰਖਬਜਾਏ॥
ਜਦ ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਿਆ, ਤਦ ਹੀ ਯਾਦਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸੰਖ ਵਜਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
As soon as Dhan Singh was killed, the Yadavas blew their conch on seeing it
ਕੇਤਕਬੀਰਕਟੇਬਿਕਟੇਹਰਿਸੋਲਰਿਕੈਹਰਿਲੋਕਿਸਿਧਾਏ॥
ਕਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਅਕੱਟ ਵੀਰ ਕਟੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ ਕੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
Many warriors fought with Krishna and being chopped, they left for heaven
ਠਾਢੋਹੁਤੋਗਜਸਿੰਘਜਹਾਯਹਕਉਤੁਕਦੇਖਮਹਾਬਿਸਮਾਏ॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਹ ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ।
The place whre Gaj Singh was standing, he was wonder-struck on seeing this spectacle
ਤਉਲਗਿਭਾਗਲਿਆਇਕਹਿਯੋਜੋਰਹੇਭਜਿਕੈਤੁਮਰੇਪਹਿਆਏ॥੧੧੨੦॥
ਤਦ ਤਕ ਭਗੌੜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਜੋ (ਬਚ) ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਭਜ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੧੨੦॥
Then the fleeing soldiers came to him and said, “Now we are the only survivors and have come to you.”1120.
ਯੌਸੁਨਕੈਤਿਨਕੇਮੁਖਤੇਗਜਸਿੰਘਬਲੀਅਤਿਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ।
Hearing these words from their mouth, the mighty hero Gaj Singh was greatly infuriated
