ਜੈਸੇਤਉਚਪਲਜਲਅੰਤਰਨਦੇਖੀਅਤਿਪੂਰਨੁਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਪ੍ਰਤਿਬਿੰਬਰਵਿਸਸਿਕੋ।
ਫੇਰ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੰਚਲ ਜਲ ਛੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਵਿਚ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਛਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

ਜੈਸੇਤਉਮਲੀਨਦਰਪਨਮੈਨਦੇਖੀਅਤਿਨਿਰਮਲਬਦਨਸਰੂਪਉਰਬਸਕੋ।
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਲੇ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਰਬਸੀ ਅਪਛਰਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਰੂਪੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਦਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਵਾ ਉਰ+ਬਸਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਦੇ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਸੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਮੁਖੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਕੀਂਦਾ।

ਜੈਸੇਬਿਨਦੀਪਨਸਮੀਪਕੋਬਿਲੋਕੀਅਤੁਭਵਨਭਇਆਨਅੰਧਕਾਰਤ੍ਰਾਸਤਸਕੋ।
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਵੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਦਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਤੇ ਘਰ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਘੁੱਪ ਡਰੌਣਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਤਸ ਤਸਕਰ ਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਭੈ ਚੋਰ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as without the light of a lamp, one cannot even see a thing lying close by. A house in darkness looks scary and frightening beside fear of intrusion of thieves.
ਤੈਸੇਮਾਇਆਧਰਮਅਧਮਅਛਾਦਿਓਮਨੁਸਤਿਗੁਰਧਿਆਨਸੁਖਨਾਨਪ੍ਰੇਮਰਸਕੋ।੪੯੬।
ਤਿਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਭਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਢਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਧਮ ਮਨੁ ਨੀਚ ਮਨ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਨ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪੯੬॥
So is the mind entangled in the darkness of mammon (maya). An ignorant mind cannot enjoy the unique bliss of the contemplation of True Guru and meditation on Lord's name. (496)
