ਜੈਸੇਏਕਸਮੈਦ੍ਰੁਮਸਫਲਸਪਤ੍ਰਪੁਨਏਕਸਮੈਫੂਲਫਲਪਤ੍ਰਗਿਰਜਾਤਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਐਸਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਿਰਖ ਫਲਾਂ ਪੱਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਿਆ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਰੁੱਤ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਫਲ ਪੱਤ੍ਰ ਝੜ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Just as a tree is full of fruits and leaves at one time and then at another time, all leaves, fruits etc. fall off.
ਸਰਿਤਾਸਲਿਲਿਜੈਸੇਕਬਹੂੰਸਮਾਨਬਹੈਕਬਹੂੰਅਥਾਹਅਤਪ੍ਰਬਲਿਦਿਖਾਤਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਦੀ ਦਾ ਜਲ ਕਦੀ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਇਕ ਸਾਰ = ਨਿਸਤਰੰਗ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਵਗਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਦੀ ਅਸਗਾਹ ਭਾਰੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਲਗ ਪਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as a stream flows calmly at a place but at another place it is rapid and noisy.
ਏਕਸਮੈਜੈਸੇਹੀਰਾਹੋਤਜੀਰਨਾਂਬਰਮੈਏਕਸਮੈਕੰਚਨਜੜੇਜਗਮਗਾਤਹੈ।
ਇਕ ਵੇਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੀਰਾ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਟੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਜੜਿਆ ਜਗਮਗ ਜਗਮਗ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as a diamond is wrapped in a (silk) rag at one time. but at another time, the same diamond is inlaid in gold and shines with its grandeur.
ਤੈਸੇਗੁਰਸਿਖਰਾਜਕੁਮਾਰਜੋਗੀਸੁਰਹੈਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀਭਾਰੀਜੋਗਜੁਗਤਜੁਗਾਤਹੈ।੪੯੭।
ਤਿਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਚਾਹੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਆਰ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਹਜ਼ਾਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਣ ਤਕ ਭੀ ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਚਾਹੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਧੰਦਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਝੇ ਹੋਣ ਤਦ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪੯੭॥
Similarly, an obedient Sikh of the Guru is a prince at one time and a supreme ascetic at another time. Even when he is wealthy, he still remains absorbed in the methods of realisation of the Lord. (497)
