ਪਤੰਗਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਵੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੇ ਮੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਜ੍ਯੋਤੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਮਾ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
For meeting the dear True Guru, an obedient disciple plays the game of love and merges his self into the light divine of the True Guru in a manner as is done by a moth who perishes on his beloved flame.
ਸਹਜਸੰਜੋਗਅਰੁਬਿਰਹਬਿਓਗਬਿਖੈਜਲਮਿਲਿਬਿਛੁਰਤਮੀਨਹੁਇਦਿਖਾਵਈ।
ਐਸੇ ਹੀ ਜਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਹਜ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਰੁ ਓਸ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਬਿਰਹੋਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਵਿਜੋਗ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਮਰਣ ਤੁੱਲ ਦੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਛਲੀ ਵਾਕੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਉਪਰ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਸਚਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਦਿਖੌਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The state of a devoted Sikh for meeting with True Guru in order to relish the spiritual ecstasy is like that of a fish in water. And one who is separated from water looks like dying with pangs of separation.
ਸਬਦਸੁਰਤਿਲਿਵਥਕਤਿਚਕਤਹੋਇਸਬਦਬੇਧੀਕੁਰੰਹਗਜੁਗਤਿਜਤਾਵਈ।
ਅਰੁ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਰਤ ਦੀ ਲਿਵ ਦ੍ਵਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਥਕਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚਕਿਤ ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਯਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਸਬਦ ਬੇਧੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਹਰਣ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਚਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਜਤਾਯਾ ਕਰਸਾਯਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Like a deer engrossed in the musical sound of Ghanda Herha, the mind of a true devotee enjoys the divine bliss engrossed in the word of the Guru.
ਮਿਲਿਬਿਛੁਰਤਅਰੁਸਬਦਸੁਰਤਿਲਿਵਕਪਟਸਨੇਹਸਨੋਹੀਨਕਹਾਵਈ।੫੫੦।
ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਹੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਦੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੀ ਰਖੇ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਪਟ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਖਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੫੫੦॥
The disciple who is able to engross his mind in the divine word, and yet separates himself from True Guru, his love is false. He cannot be called a true lover. (550)
