ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰੇ, ਪਰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਪਤੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਿਡਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
A woman may adore herself with very attractive embellishments but without surrendering to her husband, cannot enjoy the pleasure of playing with her son.
ਸਿੰਚੀਐਸਲਿਲਨਿਸਬਾਸੁਰਬਿਰਖਮੂਲਫਲਨਬਸੰਤਬਿਨਤਾਸੁਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਹੈ।
ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਢ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਲਗਤਾਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇਈ ਜਾਈਏ, ਪਰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
If a tree is watered day and night, it can not bloom with flowers in any other season than spring.
ਸਾਵਨਸਮੈਕਿਸਾਨਖੇਤਜੋਤਬੀਜਬੋਵੈਬਰਖਾਬਿਹੂਨਕਤਨਾਜਨਿਪਜਾਇਹੈ।
ਅਰਕ- ਸਾਵਣ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਖੇਤ ਵਾਹਕੇ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜ ਦੇਵੇ, ਪਰ ਬਰਖਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਅਨਾਜ ਕਿਥੇ ਉੱਗੇਗਾ?ਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ।
If a farmer ploughs his field and sows seed in it even in the month of Sawan, then without rain the seed cannot sprout.
ਅਨਿਕਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਭੇਖਧਾਰਿਪ੍ਰਾਨੀਭ੍ਰਮੇਭੂਮਬਿਨਗੁਰਉਰਿਗ੍ਯਾਨਦੀਪਨਜਗਾਇਹੈ।੬੩੫।
ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਭੇਖ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਭੌਂਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਗੇਗਾ॥੬੩੫॥
Similarly, a man may dress himself in any number of disguises and wander the world over. Even then he cannot acquire the radiance of knowledge without the initiation of the True Guru and receiving His precept. (635)
