ਜੋ ਦੈਂਤ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੜਿਆ ਸੀ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
In this way, the goddess killed the demon, who came and fought before her.
ਪੁਨਿਸਤ੍ਰਨਿਕੀਸੈਨਮੈਧਸੀਸੁਸੰਖਬਜਾਇ॥੩੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਸੰਖ ਵਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਵੜੀ ॥੩੫॥
Then she penetrated into the army of the enemies by blowing her conch.35.

ਤਦ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਕਮਾਨ (ਕੁਵੰਡ) ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਕੀਤਾ
The mighty Chandika, taking the bow in her hand, in great rage, did this
ਏਕਹੀਬਾਰਨਿਹਾਰਿਹਕਾਰਿਸੁਧਾਰਿਬਿਦਾਰਸਭੈਦਲਦੀਨੋ॥
ਕਿ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਵਾਰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਾ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ (ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਖਧੇੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
She scanned once all the army of the enemy and with terrible shout destroyed it.
ਦੈਤਘਨੇਰਨਮਾਹਿਹਨੇਲਖਿਸ੍ਰੋਨਸਨੇਕਵਿਇਉਮਨੁਚੀਨੋ॥
ਬਹੁਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਹੂ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਬੜੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਉਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ
Seeing a large number of chopped and bleeding demons, the poet feels in his mind
ਜਿਉਖਗਰਾਜਬਡੋਅਹਿਰਾਜਸਮਾਜਕੇਕਾਟਿਕਤਾਕਰਿਲੀਨੋ॥੩੬॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗਰੁੜ (ਖਗ ਰਾਜ) ਨੇ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ (ਸਮਾਜ) ਨੂੰ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੬॥
That Garuda had chopped the snakes into bits and thrown them helter-skelter.36.

ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ (ਦੈਂਤਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
The goddess killed many demons and made the strong ones weak.
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰਿਕਰਿਕਰਨਮੈਚਮੂੰਚਾਲਕਰਿਦੀਨ॥੩੭॥
ਤੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਜੜ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੩੭॥
Holding the weapons in her hand, she made the forces of the enemy run away.37.
ਭਜੀਚਮੂੰਮਹਖਾਸੁਰੀਤਕੀਸਰਨਿਨਿਜਈਸ॥
ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਦੀ ਫੌਜ ਭਜ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਜਾ ਤਕੀ।
The army of Mahishasura ran away and sought the shelter of its king.
ਧਾਇਜਾਇਤਿਨਇਉਕਹਿਓਹਨਿਓਪਦਮਭਟਬੀਸ॥੩੮॥
ਭਜ ਕੇ ਗਇਆਂ ਨੇ ਇੰਜ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ (ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ) ਵੀਹ ਪਦਮ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੩੮॥
It told him after running that twenty padam of the forces had been killd.38.
ਸੁਨਿਮਹਖਾਸੁਰਮੂੜਮਤਿਮਨਮੈਉਠਿਓਰਿਸਾਇ॥
(ਇਹ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ ਮਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਠਿਆ।
Hearing this, the foolish Mahishasura was highly enraged.
ਆਗਿਆਦੀਨੀਸੈਨਕੋਘੇਰੋਦੇਵੀਜਾਇ॥੩੯॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਵੋ ॥੩੯॥
He ordered that the goddess be besiged.39.

ਬਾਤਸੁਨੀਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਸਭਸੈਨਹਿਸੂਰਮਿਲੇਇਕੁਮੰਤ੍ਰਕਰਿਓਹੈ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ (ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ) ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਸਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ।
Listening to the words of their king, all the warriors together took this decision.
ਜਾਇਪਰੇਚਹੂੰਓਰਤੇਧਾਇਕੈਠਾਟਇਹੈਮਨਮਧਿਕਰਿਓਹੈ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਧਾ ਕੇ (ਦੇਵੀ ਉਤੇ) ਜਾ ਪਈਏ।
That with firm determination in the mind, the goddess be attacked from all the four directions.
ਮਾਰਹੀਮਾਰਪੁਕਾਰਪਰੇਅਸਿਲੈਕਰਿਮੈਦਲੁਇਉਬਿਹਰਿਓਹੈ॥
(ਬਸ ਫਿਰ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ 'ਮਾਰ ਲੌ, ਮਾਰ ਲੌ' ਪੁਕਾਰਦੀ ਹੋਈ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਸੈਨਾ ਇਉਂ ਵਿਚਰਨ ਲਗੀ
With swords in their hands, and uttering loud shouts of “Kill, Kill”, the army of demons swarmed from all directions.
ਘੇਰਿਲਈਚਹੂੰਓਰਤੇਚੰਡਿਸੁਚੰਦਮਨੋਪਰਵੇਖਪਰਿਓਹੈ॥੪੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੪੦॥
They all besieged Chandi from all the four sides, like the moon encircled amongst clouds.40.
ਦੇਖਿਚਮੂੰਮਹਖਾਸੁਰਕੀਕਰਿਚੰਡਕੁਵੰਡਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਧਰਿਓਹੈ॥
ਮਹਿਖਾਸੁਰ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
Scanning the army of Mahishasura, Chandika caught hold of her fierce bow.

(ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ) ਸਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਖਬੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
With anger, she waged the terrible war by showering the rain of her innumerable shafts.
ਭੰਜਨਭੇਅਰਿਕੇਤਨਤੇਛੁਟਸ੍ਰਉਨਸਮੂਹਧਰਾਨਿਪਰਿਓਹੈ॥
ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ) ਲਹੂ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਆਣ ਪਿਆ
By chopping the forces of the enemy, such a great quantity of blood fell on the ground.
ਆਠਵੋਸਿੰਧੁਪਚਾਯੋਹੁਤੋਮਨੋਯਾਰਨਮੈਬਿਧਿਨੇਉਗਰਿਓਹੈ॥੪੧॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਵਿਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਅੱਠਵਾਂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪਚਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਉਗਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੪੧॥
As though the Lord-God hath created the eighth ocean alongwith already created seven oceans.41.
