ਇਕੁਕਵਾਉਪਸਾਉਕਰਿਕੁਦਰਤਿਅੰਦਰਿਕੀਆਪਾਸਾਰਾ।
(ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਵਾਕ ਨਾਲ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਕੁਦਰਤ ਸਾਜੀ ਫੇਰ ਉਸ) ਕੁਦਰਤ ਵਿਚ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਪਸਾਰਾ (ਜੋ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ। (ਭਾਵ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਵਾਕ ਨਾਲ ਸੂਖਮ ਅਕਾਰਤਾ ਰਚੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਏਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਥੂਲ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਪਸਰ ਗਿਆ)।
The Lord’s one word (order) established and spread the whole nature in the form of the cosmos.
ਪੰਜਿਤਤਪਰਵਾਣੁਕਰਿਚਹੁੰਖਾਣੀਵਿਚਿਸਭਵਰਤਾਰਾ।
(ਅਪ, ਤੇਜ, ਵਾਯੂ, ਅਕਾਸ਼, ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਚਾਰ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ (ਅੰਡਜ, ਜੇਰਜ, ਸੇਤਜ, ਉਤਭੁਜ) ਵਿਖੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਰਤਾਰੇ (ਪ੍ਰਚਲਤ) ਕੀਤੇ।
Making the five elements authentic (He) regularized the working of the four mines of origin (egg, fetus, sweat, vegetation) of life.
ਕੇਵਡੁਧਰਤੀਆਖੀਐਕੇਵਡੁਤੋਲੁਅਗਾਸਅਕਾਰਾ।
ਧਰਤੀ ਕਿੱਡੀ ਕੁ ਆਖੀਏ ਤੇ ਅਕਾਸਸ਼ ਦਾ ਤੋਲ ਅਰ (ਆਕਾਰ=) ਸਰੂਪ ਕਿੱਡਾ ਕੁ ਦੱਸੀਏ?
How to tell the expanse of earth and extension of sky?
ਕੇਵਡੁਪਵਣੁਵਖਾਣੀਐਕੇਵਡੁਪਾਣੀਤੋਲੁਵਿਥਾਰਾ।
ਪਵਣ' ਕਿੱਡੀ ਕੁ ਦੱਸੀਏ, ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਲਕੇ (ਕਿੰਨਾ ਕੁ ਵਜ਼ਨ) ਆਖੀਏ?
How mush wider is air and what is the weight of water?
ਕੇਵਡੁਅਗਨੀਭਾਰੁਹੈਤੁਲਿਨਤੁਲੁਅਤੋਲੁਭੰਡਾਰਾ।
(ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਅਗਨੀ ਦੀ ਮਿਣਤੀ ਕੀ ਦੱਸੀਏ? (ਦਾਤੇ ਦੇ) ਭੰਡਾਰ ਅਤੋਲ ਹਨ ਤੋਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
How mush is the mass of fire cannot be estimated. The stores of that Lord cannot be counted and weighed.
ਕੇਵਡੁਆਖਾਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ।੧।
(ਜਦ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਅਤੋਲ ਹਨ ਮੈਂ) ਕਿੱਕੁਰ ਆਖ ਸਕਾਂ (ਕਿ) ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ (ਦਾਤਾ ਆਪ) ਕਿੱਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ।
When His creation can not be counted how can one know how great the Creator is.
ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹਲਖਜੋਨਿਵਿਚਿਜਲੁਥਲੁਮਹੀਅਲੁਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਸਾਰਾ।
ਜਲਾਂ ਥਲਾਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।
Water earth and the nether world are full of eighty-four lacs of species.
ਇਕਸਿਇਕਸਿਜੋਨਿਵਿਚਿਜੀਅਜੰਤਅਗਣਤਅਪਾਰਾ।
ਇਕ ਇਕ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਜੀਵਜੰਤੁ ਬਣਾਏ।
In each species innumerable creatures are there.
ਸਾਸਿਗਿਰਾਸਿਸਮਾਲਦਾਕਰਿਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਕਰੋੜਿਸੁਮਾਰਾ।
(ਇਕ ਇਕ ਰੋਮ ਵਿਚ) ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਰਚੇ ਹਨ (ਫੇਰ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਮ੍ਹਾਲ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Having created myriad universe He provides sustenance for them.
ਰੋਮਰੋਮਵਿਚਿਰਖਿਓਨੁਓਅੰਕਾਰਅਕਾਰੁਵਿਥਾਰਾ।
ਰੋਮ ਰੋਮ ਵਿਚ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
In each particle that Lord has extended Himself.
ਸਿਰਿਸਿਰਿਲੇਖਅਲੇਖੁਦਾਲੇਖਅਲੇਖਉਪਾਵਣੁਹਾਰਾ।
ਸਿਰ ਸਿਰ (ਉਪਰ ਉਸ) ਅਲੇਖ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ (=ਹੁਕਮ) ਹੈ (ਅਤੇ ਆਪ) ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਲੇਖੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਲੇਖ ਹੈ।
On the forehead of each creature are written his accounts; Only that creator is beyond all accounts and counts.

(ਉਸਦੀ) ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦਾ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਕੌਣ ਕਰੇ?

(ਈਸ਼ਵਰ ਦੀ ਦੈਵੀ ਸੰਪਦਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ) ਸਤ, ਸੰਤੋਖ, ਦਯਾ ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਅਰਥ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਿੱਡਾਕੁ (ਕਹੀਏ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਬਿਅੰਤ ਹੈ)।
How great are the truth, contentment, compassion, dharma, the meaning (of a concept) and its further elaboration?
ਕੇਵਡੁਕਾਮੁਕਰੋਧੁਹੈਕੇਵਡੁਲੋਭੁਮੋਹੁਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ।
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਕੇਡਾਕੁ ਹੈ?
How much is the expansion of lust, anger, greed and infatuation?
ਕੇਵਡੁਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਵਖਾਣੀਐਕੇਵਡੁਰੂਪੁਰੰਗੁਪਰਕਾਰਾ।
(ਉਸਦੀ) ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਿੱਡੀਕੁ ਕਹੀਏ, ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਕਿਡੇਕੁ ਹਨ?
Visitors are of many kind and how many are forms and their hues?

ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾਂ (ਗੰਧੀਆਂ) ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਿੱਡਾਕੁ ਹੈ, (ਫੇਰ) ਗੰਧੀਆਂ ਅਰ ਸੁਗੰਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੇਡਾਕੁ ਹੈ? (ਭਾਵ ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿੰਨੀ ਅੱਡ ਅੱਡ ਫੁਲਾਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ, ਫੇਰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਡ ਅਡ ਕੀ ਕੀ ਤੇ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਅੱਡੋ ਅੱਡ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ)?
How many are the founts of flavor and what is the working of various fragrances?
ਕੇਵਡੁਰਸਕਸਆਖੀਅਨਿਕੇਵਡੁਸਾਦਨਾਦਓਅੰਕਾਰਾ।
ਰਸ ਕਸ ਕਿੰਨੇਕੁ ਕਹੀਏ, ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਦ ਵ (ਸ਼ਬਦ) ਦਾ ਸਵਾਦ ਕੇਡਾਕੁ ਆਖੀਏ)।
Nothing can be told about the edible delights and inedible.
ਅੰਤੁਬਿਅੰਤੁਨਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ।੩।
ਅੰਤ ਥੋਂ ਬਿਅੰਤ ਹਨ, ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।☬ਭਾਵ-ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਰਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਅੰਤਤਾ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਸੁਭਾਵਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਅੰਤਤਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮਾਯਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ; ਤਦ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਕੇਡਾਕੁ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?
His expanse is infinite and beyond description.
ਕੇਵਡੁਦੁਖੁਸੁਖੁਆਖੀਐਕੇਵਡੁਹਰਖੁਸੋਗੁਵਿਸਥਾਰਾ।
ਕੇਡਾਕੁ ਦੁਖ, ਸੁਖ ਆਖੀਏ ਤੇ ਹਰਖ (ਅਰ) ਸੋਗ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਕਿੱਡਾਕੁ (ਕਹੀਏ)।
What is the ambit of suffering and pleasure, happiness and sorrow?

ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਡਾਕੁ ਕਹੀਏ, ਕੂੜ (ਝੂਠ) ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਿੰਨੇਕੁ ਹਨ?

(ਕਈ) ਭਾਉ ਭਉ (ਰੱਖਕੇ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤਿ ਦੇ ਸਵਭਾਵਕ ਉਪਕਾਰ (ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਈ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ (ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹਨ, ਐਸੇ) ਕਿੰਨੇ ਕੁ (ਆਖਾਂ)?
What could be told about love, fear, peace, equipoise, altruism and evil propensities?
ਤੋਲੁਅਤੋਲੁਨਤੋਲਣਹਾਰਾ।੪।
(ਉਸਦੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ) ਤੋਲਣ ਥੋਂ ਅਤੋਲ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ (ਜੀਵ) ਤੋਲਣਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
These all are infinite and none can know about them.

Nature is indescribable because in it one extends to millions and millions.
ਦਾਨੈਕੀਮਤਿਨਾਪਵੈਕੇਵਡੁਦਾਤਾਦੇਵਣਹਾਰਾ।
(ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਖਣ ਦਾ ਜੋ) ਖਜ਼ਾਨਾ (ਖੋਹਲ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੋ) ਦਾਤ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਕੌਣ ਕਹਿ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ) ਕਿੱਡਾ ਕੁ ਹੈ?
The evaluation of that (great) Giver cannot be done and nothing can be told about His expansion.
ਅਕਥਕਥਾਅਬਿਗਤਿਨਿਰਧਾਰਾ।੫।
(ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਕਥਾ ਅਕਥ ਹੈ ਅਬਿਗਤ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਧਾਰ ਹੈ।
His ineffable story, beyond all bases is always unmanifest.
ਲਖਚਉਰਾਸੀਹਜੂਨਿਵਿਚਿਮਾਣਸਜਨਮੁਦੁਲੰਭੁਉਪਾਇਆ।
ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੋਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁਖ ਜਨਮ (ਵੱਡਾ) ਦੁਰਲਭ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Among the eighty-four lacs of births, the human life is the rare one.
ਚਾਰਿਵਰਨਚਾਰਿਮਜਹਬਾਂਹਿੰਦੂਮੁਸਲਮਾਣਸਦਾਇਆ।
(ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਖੱਤ੍ਰੀ, ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਵੈਸ਼, ਸ਼ੂਦ) ਚਾਰ ਵਰਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਅਰ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਚਾਰ ਮਜ਼ਹਬ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਸਦਾਏ।
This human got divided into four varnas and dharmas as also into Hindu and Musalman.
ਕਿਤੜੇਪੁਰਖਵਖਾਣੀਅਨਿਨਾਰਿਸੁਮਾਰਿਅਗਣਤਗਣਾਇਆ।
ਕਈ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਰਚੀਆਂ, ਗਿਣਤੀ ਅਗਿਣਤ ਰੱਖੀ।
How many are the males and females cannot be counted.
ਤ੍ਰੈਗੁਣਮਾਇਆਚਲਿਤੁਹੈਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਬਿਸਨੁਮਹੇਸੁਰਚਾਇਆ।
(ਇਹ ਭੀ) ਤ੍ਰ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਚਲਿੱਤ੍ਰ੍ਰ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਰਚ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
This world is fraudulent display of maya who with its there qualities has created even Brahma, Visan and Mahesa.
ਵੇਦਕਤੇਬਾਂਵਾਚਦੇਇਕੁਸਾਹਿਬੁਦੁਇਰਾਹਚਲਾਇਆ।
(ਹਿੰਦੂ) ਵੇਦ (ਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ) ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਵਾਚਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਹਬ ਇਕੋ ਹੈ, ਰਾਹ ਦੋ ਚਲਾ ਧਰੇ ਹਨ।

Out of the Siva-Sakti i.e. maya, the illusions of yoga and bhoga (enjoyment) have been created.

ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਭਲਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
One gets good or bad results according to the company of sadh or evildoers he keeps.

Many are highway robbers. Dupers, backbiters and devoid of thinking.

Killers of their masters, unfaithful, not true to their salt and morons are also there.
ਬਿਖਲੀਪਤਿਵੇਸੁਆਰਵਤਮਦਮਤਵਾਲੇਵਡੇਵਿਕਾਰੀ।
(ਕਿਤਨੇ ਬਿਖਲੀਪਤ ਹਨ, (ਕਈ) ਵੇਸਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਰੱਖਦੇ, (ਕਈ) ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਬੜੇ ਗ਼ਲਤਾਨ ਹਨ।

Many are singing happily and many are weeping and wailing.

ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਆਵਾਗਵਨ ਹੈ, ਕਿਤਨੀ (ਭੂਤਕਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ) ਗੁਜਰ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤਨੀ (ਭਵਿੱਖਤ ਵਿਖੇ) ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
The world is transitory; it has been created many times and still would be created again and again.

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ, ਲਿਵ ਲਾਕੇ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ (ਤੇ ਸਭ ਮਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਹੋਕੇ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਣ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He speaks mildly, behaves humbly and even by giving something to somebody wishes good of others.

(ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋਂ) ਚੱਲਣ ਸੱਚ ਜਾਣਕੇ, (ਚੰਚਲਤਾਈਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਭੋਲਾ ਹੋਕੇ ਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਝੱਟ) ਲੰਘਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Absorbing consciousness into the Word that humble person receives honour in the court of the Lord.
ਚਲਣੁਜਾਣਿਅਜਾਣੁਹੋਇਆਸਾਵਿਚਿਨਿਰਾਸੁਵਲਾਏ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਰੂਪੀ ਅਲਖ ਫਲ ਨੂੰ ਲਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Considering death as the last truth and becoming unknown to cunningness he remains indifferent to hopes and desires.

ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ, ਕਿਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਯੋਕਤੀ, ਕਿਤੇ ਧਵਨੀ ਦਵਾਰਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖੀ, ਗ੍ਰੀਬੀ, ਗੁਰਤਾ ਆਦਿ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਉੱਚਤਾ, ਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਤਾ, ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਆਦਿ ਦਾ ਮਿਲ-ਬੱਝਵਾਂ ਵਰਣਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਲੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ।
