ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਏਕੰਕਾਰਆਪਿਉਪਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ) ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਤਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ (ਉਤਪਤ ਵਸਤੂ ਨਾਸ਼ਮਾਨ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਸ਼ੰਕਾ ਦੀ ਨਵਿਰਤੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਤੁਕ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Ekankar, the Lors second to none, created gurmukh (to liberate the world).
ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿਅਕਾਰੁਪਰਗਟੀਆਇਆ।
ਓਅੰਕਾਰ' (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਨੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਅਕਾਰ (ਹੀ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਨਿਵਾਰਣ ਲਈ) ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
That Oankar assuming forms has become manifest.
ਪੰਚਤਤਵਿਸਤਾਰੁਚਲਤੁਰਚਾਇਆ।
ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ (ਅਪ, ਤੇਜ, ਵਾਯੂ, ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼) ਦਾ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਚਲਿੱਤ੍ਰ) ਰਚਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਰਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
By extension (and combination) of the five elements this world has been created.
ਖਾਣੀਬਾਣੀਚਾਰਿਜਗਤੁਉਪਾਇਆ।
(ਫੇਰ ਚਾਰ) ਖਾਣੀਆਂ (ਅੰਡਜ, ਜੇਰਜ, ਸ੍ਵੇਤਜ, ਉਤਭੁਜ ਅਰ ਪਰਾ ਪਸੰਤੀ ਮੱਧਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਖਰੀ ਨਾਮਕ) ਚਾਰ ਬਾਣੀਆ ਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਰਚ ਦਿਤਾ।
The four mines of life and four speeches ( para, pasyanti, madhyama, vaikhari) have been generated.
ਕੁਦਰਤਿਅਗਮਅਪਾਰੁਅੰਤੁਨਪਾਇਆ।
ਕੁਦਰਤ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਮਨ ਬਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ਅਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸਦਾ) ਅੰਤ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ।
His feats of amusements are inaccessible and limitless; their extremes are unattainable.
ਸਚੁਨਾਉਕਰਤਾਰਸਚਿਸਮਾਇਆ।੧।
(ਜਿਸ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹੋ 'ਸਚ') ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਪਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਖੇ) ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
The name of that creator is Truth and He is ever immersed in Truth.
ਪਉੜੀ੨
ਲਖਚਉਰਾਸੀਹਜੂਨਿਫੇਰਿਫਿਰਾਇਆ।
ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਲਖ ਜੋਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਫੇਰਾ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਇਕ ਚੱਕਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ)।
Souls wander fruitlessly in the eighty-four lakhs of species of life.
ਮਾਣਸਜਨਮੁਦੁਲੰਭੁਕਰਮੀਪਾਇਆ।
ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਵੱਡਾ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ ('ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ ਸਬਾਈ ਮਾਣਸ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦੀਈ ਵਡਿਆਈ॥ ਇਸੁ ਪਉੜੀ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਰ ਚੂਕੈ ਸੋ ਆਇ ਜਾਇ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇਦਾ')।
The rare human body has been obtained owing to virtuous actions.
ਉਤਮੁਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੰਥੁਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਆ।
(ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਖੇ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੰਥ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ) ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਗਵਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
Moving on greatest path of the Guru orientated, the self has lost the ego.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਰਹਰਾਸਿਪੈਰੀਂਪਾਇਆ।
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਹੁਰੀਤ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਣਾ ਹੈ, (ਭਾਵ ਨਿਰਭਿਮਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Maintaining the discipline of the holy congregation has come to fall at the feet (of the Guru).
ਨਾਮੁਦਾਨੁਇਸਨਾਨੁਸਚੁਦਿੜਾਇਆ।
ਨਾਮ, ਦਾਨ, ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ ਪਖੰਡ ਦੀ ਜੜ੍ਹੀਂ ਤੇਲ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Gurmukhs have adopted the name of the Lord, the charity, the ablution and truthful conduct steadfastly.
ਸਬਦੁਸੁਰਤਿਲਿਵਲੀਣੁਭਾਣਾਭਾਇਆ।੨।
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਦੀ 'ਲਿਵ' ਵਿਖੇ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਕੇ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ) ਭਾਣੇ ਪੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਨ।
The man has merged his consciousness in the Word and has accepted the will of the Lord.
ਪਉੜੀ੩
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੁਘੜੁਸੁਜਾਣੁਗੁਰਸਮਝਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਝਾਏ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਅਤੇ ('ਸੁਜਾਣ') ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਪਰਮਾਰਥ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹਨ)।
Gurmukh taught by the Guru is well trained and knowledgeable.
ਮਿਹਮਾਣੀਮਿਹਮਾਣੁਮਜਲਸਿਆਇਆ।
(ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰੂਪੀ) ਮਿਹਮਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ (ਐਉਂ) ਹਨ (ਜਿਕੂੰ) ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਮਜਲਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਯਾ ਹੈ।
He understands that he has come to the assembly of this world as a guest.
ਖਾਵਾਲੇਸੋਖਾਣੁਪੀਐਪੀਆਇਆ।
(ਜੋ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ) ਖਵਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪਿਆਏ ਸੋ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
He eats and drinks what is bestowed by the Lord.
ਕਰੈਨਗਰਬੁਗੁਮਾਣੁਹਸੈਹਸਾਇਆ।
ਆਪਣਾ ਗਰਬ ਤੇ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ (ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਉਹ) ਹਸਾਵੇ ਹਸਦੇ ਹਨ (ਇਸ ਲਈ)
Gurmukh is not arrogant and feels happy in the happiness given by the Lord.
ਪਾਹੁਨੜਾਪਰਵਾਣੁਕਾਜੁਸੁਹਾਇਆ।
ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜੋ) ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਕਬਾਬੀ ਦੀ ਖਰਾਬੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ)।
Only that guest gets accepted in the court of the Lord who has lived here as a good guest.
ਮਜਲਸਕਰਿਹੈਰਾਣੁਉਠਿਸਿਧਾਇਆ।੩।
ਮਜਲਸ ਨੂੰ (ਨੇਕ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ) ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਛੱਡਕੇ) ਚਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He moves from here silently and makes the whole assembly wonders struck (because others feel very difficult to leave this world).
ਪਉੜੀ੪
ਗੋਇਲੜਾਦਿਨਚਾਰਿਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਾਣੀਐ।
(ਸੰਸਾਰ) ਚਹੁੰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਗੋਇਲ ਵਾਸੇ (ਵਾਂਙੂ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
Gurmukh knows this world as a place of rest for a few days.
ਮੰਝੀਲੈਮਿਹਵਾਰਿਚੋਜਵਿਡਾਣੀਐ।
(ਗੋਇਲ ਵਾਸਾ ਕੀ ਹੈ?) ਮਾਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਮਹੀਆਂ (ਗਊਆਂ) ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਉਥੇ) ਵਡੇ ਅਚਰਜ ਕੌਤਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ ਕਬੱਡੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੈਂਚੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Here with the help of wealth many types of sports and feats are enacted.
ਵਰਸੈਨਿਝਰਧਾਰਿਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਵਾਣੀਐ।
ਵਰਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਇਕ ਰਸ ਧਾਰਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਤ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੀ (ਭਾਵ ਉਥੇ ਵਡੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਵਰਸਦੇ ਹਨ)।
In this very world, for gurmukhs incessant rain of nectar goes on pouring.
ਵੰਝੁਲੀਐਝੀਗਾਰਿਮਜਲਸਿਮਾਣੀਐ।
(ਤਦੋਂ ਮਾਹੀ ਲੋਕ) ਵੰਝਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਲਾਕੇ ਮਜਲਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
On the tune of flute (the unstruck melody) they go on enjoying the delight of the assembly.
ਗਾਵਣਿਮਾਝਮਲਾਰਿਸੁਘੜੁਸੁਜਾਣੀਐ।
ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਮਾਝ ਤੇ ਮਲ੍ਹਾਰ (ਰਾਗ) (ਓਹ ਜੋ ਵਿੱਚ) ਸੁਘੜ ਤੇ ਸੁਜਾਣ ਹਨ। (ਤਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ਲੋਕ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਮੀਂਹ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
Well-trained and knowledgeable persons sing Majh and Malhar musical measures here i.e. they enjoy the present.
ਹਉਮੈਗਰਬੁਨਿਵਾਰਿਮਨਿਵਸਿਆਣੀਐ।
(ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ) ਹਉਮੈਂ ਦੇ ਗਰਬ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਕੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
They lose their ego and control their minds.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਬਦੁਵੀਚਾਰਿਸਚਿਸਿਞਾਣੀਐ।੪।
(ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ 'ਗੋਇਲਿ ਆਇਆ ਗੋਇਲੀ ਕਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਡੰਫੁ ਪਸਾਰੁ॥ ਮੁਹਲਤਿ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਚਲਣਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਮਲ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੁ”; ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਵੀਚਾਰਕੇ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
Contemplating the Word, the Gurmukh identifies the truth.
ਪਉੜੀ੫
ਵਾਟਵਟਾਊਰਾਤਿਸਰਾਈਂਵਸਿਆ।
ਰਸਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਯਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਇ ਵਿਖੇ ਵੱਸਿਆ।
A wayfarer, on the way halted in an inn.
ਉਠਚਲਿਆਪਰਭਾਤਿਮਾਰਗਿਦਸਿਆ।
ਜਦ ਪਹੁ ਫੁਟੀ ਤੇ ਰਸਤਾ ਦਿੱਸ ਪਿਆ ਉਠਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ।
Then moved forward on the told path.
ਨਾਹਿਪਰਾਈਤਾਤਿਨਚਿਤਿਰਹਸਿਆ।
ੳਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂ ਪਰਾਈ ਈਰਖਾ ਹੋਈ ਨਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਤ (ਪਰਾਈ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਪਰ) ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ (ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਗ ਦ੍ਵੈਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ)।
He neither got envious with anyone nor did he get infatuated by any.
ਮੁਏਨਪੁਛੈਜਾਤਿਵਿਵਾਹਿਨਹਸਿਆ।
ਮੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਦੀ ਜਾਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛੀ, (ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ) ਵਿਵਾਹ (ਦੇਖਕੇ) ਨਾਂ ਹੱਸਿਆ।
He neither asked the caste (identity) of any dying person nor he felt any delight witnessing the marriage ceremonies etc.
ਦਾਤਾਕਰੇਜੁਦਾਤਿਨਭੁਖਾਤਸਿਆ।
(ਤਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਸਾ ਜਾਣ ਅਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ) ਦਾਤਾ ਜੋ ਦਾਤ ਕਰੇ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿਦੇ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ) ਭੁਖੇ ਜਾਂ ਤਿਹਾਏ ਹਾਂ।
He happily accepted gifts of the Lord and never remained hungry or thirsty.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਿਮਰਣੁਵਾਤਿਕਵਲੁਵਿਗਸਿਆ।੫।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਲੋਕ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਸਿਮਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ 'ਵਾਤਕਮਲ' ਕਹੀਏ) ਮੁਖ ਕਮਲ (ਵਿਸ਼ੇਖ) ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The lotus face of the gurmukh always remains in blossom due to continuous remembrance of the Lord.
ਪਉੜੀ੬
ਦੀਵਾਲੀਦੀਰਾਤਿਦੀਵੇਬਾਲੀਅਨਿ।
ਦੀਪਮਾਲਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਘਰੋ ਘਰੀ ਦੀਵੇ ਬਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਥੋੜੇ ਚਿਰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਇਹ ਦੀਪਮਾਲਾ ਗੁੰਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।
Lamps are lighted in the night of divali festival;
ਤਾਰੇਜਾਤਿਸਨਾਤਿਅੰਬਰਿਭਾਲੀਅਨਿ।
ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰੇ ਵਡੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਦਿਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੁਰਾ ਖੋਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ)।
Stars of different variety appear in the sky;
ਫੁਲਾਂਦੀਬਾਗਾਤਿਚੁਣਿਚੁਣਿਚਾਲੀਅਨਿ।
ਫੁਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਗੀਚੀਆਂ (ਕੁਝ ਚਿਰ ਅਚਰਜ ਖਿੜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਝੱਟ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਥੋਂ) ਫੁਲ ਚੁਣ ਚੁਣਕੇ ਤੋੜ ਲਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
In the gardens the flowers are there which are selectively plucked;
ਤੀਰਥਿਜਾਤੀਜਾਤਿਨੈਣਨਿਹਾਲੀਅਨਿ।
ਯਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਪੁਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ (ਬੜੇ ਟੋਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ) ਅੱਖੀਂ ਦੇਖੀਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਪੁਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਸ਼ਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ)।
The pilgrims going to pilgrimage centres are also seen.
ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀਝਾਤਿਵਸਾਇਉਚਾਲੀਅਨਿ।
ਹਰੀ ਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਦੇ (ਨਗਰ) ਦਿਖਲਾਵੇ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਦਿਖਾਕੇ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਉਜਾੜੀਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਜਗਤ ਥੋੜੇ ਚਿਰ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੈ “ਇਹ ਜੁ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸਿਹਰੁ ਮੇਲਾ ਦਸਤਗੀਰੀ ਨਾਹਿ”)।
The imaginary habitats have been seen coming into being and vanishing.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੁਖਫਲਦਾਤਿਸਬਦਿਸਮ੍ਹਾਲੀਅਨਿ।੬।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਤਮਾਨੰਦ ਰੂਪੀ) ਸੁਖ ਫਲ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਓਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
All these are momentary, but the gurmukhs with the help of the Word nourish the gift of the pleasure fruit.
ਪਉੜੀ੭
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਮਨਿਪਰਗਾਸੁਗੁਰਿਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ (ਵਿਖੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The gurmukh who have received well with the Guru's teachings have got their minds enlightened.
ਪੇਈਅੜੈਘਰਿਵਾਸੁਮਿਟੈਅੰਦੇਸਿਆ।
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਕੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਸ ਵਾਂਙੂ (ਜਾਣਕੇ
They have understood that the world is like a parental home; one has to go one day from here and hence all their doubts have been removed.
ਆਸਾਵਿਚਿਨਿਰਾਸੁਗਿਆਨੁਅਵੇਸਿਆ।
ਉਦਾਸ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
They are unattached amid hopes and remain charged with the knowledge.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਰਹਰਾਸਿਸਬਦਿਸੰਦੇਸਿਆ।
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਰਾਹ (ਫੜਕੇ ਗੁਰ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਦੇਸੇ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
They spread message of the Word in accordance with the conduct of the holy congregation.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਦਾਸਨਿਦਾਸਮਤਿਪਰਵੇਸਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਮੰਨਕੇ (ਆਤਮ ਵਿਸ਼ੈਣੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਵਿਖੇ) ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਵਿਸ਼ਯ ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਯਾਗ ਕਰ ਛਡਿਆ ਹੈ)।
The idea that they are servants of the servants of the Lord has got deeply rooted in the wisdom of the gurmukhs.
ਸਿਮਰਣਸਾਸਿਗਿਰਾਸਿਦੇਸਵਿਦੇਸਿਆ।੭।
(ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਸਿਮਰਣ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਖੇ ਰਹਿਕੇ ਬੀ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ।
Be they anywhere in the country or abroad they remember God with every inhalation and exhalation of breath.
ਪਉੜੀ੮
ਨਦੀਨਾਵਸੰਜੋਗੁਮੇਲਿਮਿਲਾਇਆ।
ਨਦੀ ਵਿਖੇ (ਜਿਕੁਰ) ਬੇੜੀ (ਦੇ ਪੂਰ) ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ (ਬੇੜੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੀਕ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫੇਰ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
As in a boat per-chance many persons unknown to each other meet, likewise the creatures in the world meet each other.
ਸੁਹਣੇਅੰਦਰਿਭੋਗੁਰਾਜੁਕਮਾਇਆ।
ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਭੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਮਾਉਣਾ (ਜਾਗਣ ਤੋੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
The world is such as if ruling a kingdom and enjoying the pleasures in a dream.
ਕਦੇਹਰਖੁਕਦੇਸੋਗੁਤਰਵਰਛਾਇਆ।
(ਤਿਹਾ ਹੀ) ਬ੍ਰਿੱਛ ਦੀ ਛਾਯਾ ਵਾਂਙੂ ਕਦੇ ਹਰਖ ਕਦੇ ਸੋਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਟਿਕਦਾ ਕੁਛ ਨਹੀਂ)।
Here happiness and sufferings are like shade of the tree.
ਕਟੈਹਉਮੈਰੋਗੁਨਆਪੁਗਣਾਇਆ।
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਦੇ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਰੋਗ ਕਟੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਣਾਉਂਦੇ।
Here in fact he has decimated the malady of ego who has not made himself to be noticed.
ਘਰਹੀਅੰਦਰਿਜੋਗੁਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਇਆ।
ਘਰੁ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੀ (ਗਿਆਨ) ਜੋਗ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾ ਲੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Becoming gurmukh, individual even being at one's home attains union (with the Lord).
ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰਸੁਹੋਗੁਗੁਰਸਮਝਾਇਆ।੮।
(ਜੋਗ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ) ਜੋ ਹੋਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਜੋ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਹੈ ਅਵੱਸੋਂ) ਹੋਣਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਇਹੋ ਬੁਧੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਹੈ। (“ਮੇਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਇ॥ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਸੋਇ”)॥
The Guru has made him understand that destiny cannot be averted (hence one without being worried should go on doing one's works).
ਪਉੜੀ੯
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਾਧੂਸੰਗੁਚਲਣੁਜਾਣਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਫਾਨੀ ਥੋਂ) ਚਲਣਾ ਹੀ ਜਾਣ ਲੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Gurmukhs have learnt the technique of life in the holy congregation.
ਚੇਤਿਬਸੰਤਸੁਰੰਗੁਸਭਰੰਗਮਾਣਿਆ।
(ਚੇਤ ਬਸੰਤ) ਮਨੁਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਣ ਲੀਤੇ ਹਨ (ਇਸ ਸਮਝ ਨਾਲ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਮਾਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਮਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ)।
They have consciously enjoyed the delight of the spring season of life.
ਸਾਵਣਲਹਰਿਤਰੰਗਨੀਰੁਨੀਵਾਣਿਆ।
ਸਾਵਣ (ਮਹੀਨੇ) ਦੀਆ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਤ੍ਰੰਗ (ਭਾਵ ਬਰਖਾ ਰੁਤ ਦੀ ਮੌਜ ਭੀ ਮਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕੇ ਕਿ) ਪਾਣੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਨੀਵਾਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮਨ ਨੇ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਤਿ ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਉਣੀ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਿੰਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਧਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
They are elated like the water of rainy season (Savan) but still they (gurmukhs) have made water of hopes and desires go down and downward.
ਸਜਣਮੇਲੁਸੁਢੰਗਚੋਜਵਿਡਾਣਿਆ।
ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਢੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਚਰਜ ਕੌਤਕ ਹੈ;
Meeting with such persons is wonderfully delightful.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੰਥੁਨਿਪੰਗੁਦਰਿਪਰਵਾਣਿਆ।
(ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਖੇ) ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪੰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, (ਇਸੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ ਦੇ) ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ (ਪੰਥ) ਹੈ।
They way of gurmukhs is devoid of mire and is accepted in the court of the Lord.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿਮੇਲੁਅਭੰਗੁਸਤਿਸੁਹਾਣਿਆ।੯।
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖ੍ਯਾ ਦਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਰਸ ਸੱਤਿ (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ) ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲਗਾ ਹੈ।
A meeting through the wisdom of the Guru is obstruction free, true and delightful.
ਪਉੜੀ੧੦
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਫਲਜਨੰਮੁਜਗਿਵਿਚਿਆਇਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੇ ਜਗ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ (ਭਜਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਫਲ) ਕਰ ਲੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Blest is the birth of a gurmukh and his coming to this world.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿਪੂਰਕਰੰਮਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਆ।
(ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ) ਪੂਰਣ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਤ ਲੈਕੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਵਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
In accordance with the wisdom of the Guru he deletes his ego and accomplishes the (virtuous) actions.
ਭਾਉਭਗਤਿਕਰਿਕੰਮੁਸੁਖਫਲੁਪਾਇਆ।
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮ ਰੂਪੀ) ਸੁਖ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
He works controlled by his love for work and loving devotion, and receives the pleasure fruit (of life).
ਗੁਰਉਪਦੇਸੁਅਗੰਮੁਰਿਦੈਵਸਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅਗੰਮ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The inaccessible teachings of the Guru he adopts in his heart.
ਧੀਰਜੁਧੁਜਾਧਰੰਮੁਸਹਜਿਸੁਭਾਇਆ।
(ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ) ਧੀਰਜ ਅਰ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਸਹਿਜ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਹੀ ਧੁਜਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Keeping of the flag of forbearance and dharma high, becomes his innate nature.
ਸਹੈਨਦੂਖਸਹੰਮੁਭਾਣਾਭਾਇਆ।੧੦।
ਦੁਖ ਅਰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹਾਰਦੇ, (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ) ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He bows before the will of the Lord and never suffers any fear or sorrow.
ਪਉੜੀ੧੧
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਦੁਰਲਭਦੇਹਅਉਸਰੁਜਾਣਦੇ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਦੇਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਔਸਰ ਪਛਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, (“ਇਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਰ॥ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਤੂ ਦੇਖ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ”॥ ਇਸ ਲਈ 'ਹਰਿ ਜਪਦਿਆ ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲ ਢਿਲ ਨ ਕੀਚਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਮਤੁ ਕਿ ਜਾਪੇ ਸਾਹੁ ਆਵੈ ਕਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਰਾਮ॥”)।
Gurmukhs know (very well) that human birth is a rare opportunity.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਅਸਨੇਹਸਭਰੰਗਮਾਣਦੇ।
(ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
That is why they cultivate love for holy congregation and enjoy all delights.
ਸਬਦਸੁਰਤਿਲਿਵਲੇਹਆਖਿਵਖਾਣਦੇ।
ਸਬਦ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਦੀ ਲਿਵ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
They speak after merging their consciousness in the Word.
ਦੇਹੀਵਿਚਿਬਿਦੇਹਸਚੁਸਿਞਾਣਦੇ।
ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਦੇਹ (ਭਾਵ ਨਿਰਾਭਿਮਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ 'ਸਚ') ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
They become bodiless while living in body and identify the truth.
ਦੁਬਿਧਾਓਹੁਨਏਹੁਇਕੁਪਛਾਣਦੇ।
ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਵਖੇ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ (ਦੀ ਬੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ) ਨਹੀਂ ਰਖਦੇ, ਇਕ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ) ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਛਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
They do not have this or that dilemma and know only one Lord.
ਚਾਰਿਦਿਹਾੜੇਥੇਹੁਮਨਵਿਚਿਆਣਦੇ।੧੧।
ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦਾ ('ਥੇਹ') ਸੰਸਾਰ ਹੈ, ਇਹੋ ਗੱਲ ਮਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਯਾਦ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ (ਅਰ ਝੂਠੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਬੇਧਾਇਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
They know in their heart of heart that within a short period this world is going to become a mound (of earth) and hence they do not develop any attachment with it.
ਪਉੜੀ੧੨
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀਵਿਰਲਾਆਇਆ।
ਪਰੋਪਕਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੋਈ ਚੋਣਵਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ (ਯਥਾ:-”ਹੈਨਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਘਣੇ ਫੈਲ ਫਕੜੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ” (ਫੈਲ ਸੂਫ=ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗ੍ਯਾਨੀ। ਫਕੜੁ=ਫਕੀਰ।)
Rarely comes a benevolent gurmukh who serves others.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੁਖਫਲੁਪਾਇਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਗਵਾਕੇ ਆਤਮ ਫਲ ਪਾ ਲੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh abandons ego and receives the fruit of delight.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਾਖੀਸਬਦਿਸਿਖਿਸੁਣਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਆਪ ਤਰਦੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੀ ਤਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Only the gurmukh tells the story of the (grandeur of ) Word to the disciples (of the Guru) and never claims to tell something as his own.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਬਦਵੀਚਾਰਿਸਚੁਕਮਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਕਮਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
Deeply pondering over the Word, a gurmukh practices truth in his life,
ਸਚੁਰਿਦੈਮੁਹਿਸਚੁਸਚਿਸੁਹਾਇਆ।
ਸੱਚ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਰਿਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਹੀ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
He likes the truth, which resides in his heart as well as speech.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਨਮੁਸਵਾਰਿਜਗਤੁਤਰਾਇਆ।੧੨।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ ਸੁਆਰ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
Such a gurmukh not only spruces his own life he rather gets the whole world across.
ਪਉੜੀ੧੩
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਆਪੁਪਛਾਣਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਗਵਾਕੇ (ਅਸਲੀ) ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh losing his ego and identifies his self.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਤਿਸੰਤੋਖੁਸਹਜਿਸਮਾਣਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ (ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ) ਸਹਿਜ (ਸੁਖ) ਮਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh enters his innate nature through truth and contentment.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਧੀਰਜੁਧਰਮੁਦਇਆਸੁਖੁਮਾਣਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੇ ਧੀਰਜ, ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh alone enjoys the true delights of forbearance, dharma and compassion.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਅਰਥੁਵੀਚਾਰਿਸਬਦੁਵਖਾਣਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ) ਅਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਵਖ੍ਯਾਨ (ਵਰਣਨ) ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Gurmukhs very well understand the importance of the words first, and only then they speak them out.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਹੋਂਦੇਤਾਣਰਹੈਨਿਤਾਣਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਬਲ (ਜਾਂ ਵਸੀਕਾਰ) ਰੱਖਕੇ ਬੀ ਨਿਤਾਣੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Though being powerful, the gurmukhs always consider themselves weak and humble.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਦਰਗਹਮਾਣੁਹੋਇਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ।੧੩।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ 'ਦਰਗਹ' (ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਦੀ ਨ੍ਯਾਇ ਸਭਾ) ਵਿੱਚ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਥੇ ਜੋ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ (ਅੱਗੇ ਵੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਹੁੰਚਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Because the gurmukhs are polite, they receive respects in the court of the Lord.
ਪਉੜੀ੧੪
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਨਮੁਸਵਾਰਿਦਰਗਹਚਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਕੇ (ਭਾਵ ਸਫਲ ਕਰਕੇ) ਪਰਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਧਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਉਥੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)?
Spending this life fruitfully gurmukh goes to the other world.
ਸਚੀਦਰਗਹਜਾਇਸਚਾਪਿੜੁਮਲਿਆ।
ਸੱਚੀ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਦੀ ਨ੍ਯਾਇ ਸਭਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਿਦਕ ਦਾ ਪਿੜ ਮੱਲ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ (“ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ਰਹਿਓ॥ ਤਪਤ ਕੜਾਹਾ ਬੁਝਿ ਗਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਸੀਤਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ”)।
There in the true court (of lord) he gets his true place.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਭੋਜਨੁਭਾਉਚਾਉਅਲਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ (ਅਰ ਸ੍ਵੈ ਸਰੂਪਾਨੰਦ ਦਾ) ਚਾਉ ਸਦਾ ਅਡੋਲ ਤੇ ਥਿਰ ਹੈ।
Repast of gurmukh is love and his delight is devoid of flirtatiousness.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਿਹਚਲੁਚਿਤੁਨਹਲੈਹਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਅਚੱਲ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ) ਹਿਲਾਇਆ ਹਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Gurmukh has a tranquil heart and remains steadfast even in ups and downs.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਚੁਅਲਾਉਭਲੀਹੂੰਭਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਚ) ਚੰਗੇ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਭਾਵ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
He speaks truth and good of the good.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਦੇਜਾਨਿਆਵਨਿਘਲਿਆ।੧੪।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ) ਬੁਲਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਘੱਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Only gurmukhs are called to the court of the Lord and they come to the world only when the Lord sends them.
ਪਉੜੀ੧੫
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਾਧਿਅਸਾਧੁਸਾਧੁਵਖਾਣੀਐ।
(ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਥੋਂ) ਜਿੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ('ਸਾਧ'=) ਵੱਸ ਕਰ ਲੀਤੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ) ਸਾਧੂ ਕਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।
Gurmukh accomplishes the intractable and hence is called sadhu.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਬੁਧਿਬਿਬੇਕਬਿਬੇਕੀਜਾਣੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ) ਬਿਬੇਕੀ (ਵਿਦਵਾਨ) ਜਾਣੀਦੇ ਹਨ।
Gurmukh has such wisdom, which is competent to separate water from milk. This is why he is called wise.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਭਾਉਭਗਤਿਭਗਤੁਪਛਾਣੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ ਭਗਤੀ (ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਭਗਤ ਕਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।
The devotion of gurmukh is loving devotion.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਬ੍ਰਹਮਗਿਆਨੁਗਿਆਨੀਬਾਣੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ (ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਯਥਾ:-'ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦੀਸੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਏਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ॥ ਆਤਮ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਕਰਣਹਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ। ' ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਹੈ।
Since the gurmukhs attain divine knowledge, they are called knowledgeable ones (jnanis).
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੂਰਣਮਤਿਸਬਦਿਨੀਸਾਣੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਨ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਆਤਮ ਵਿਸ਼ੈਣੀ, ਇਕ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੈ ਕਰਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਬੁਧੀ ਹੈ, ਸਬਦ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਕ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਹਨ, ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਬਾਣੀ ਘੱਟ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Gurmukhs have the wisdom fully stamped and marked by the Word.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਉੜੀਪਤਿਪਿਰਮਰਸੁਮਾਣੀਐ।੧੫।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਪਤ, ਦੀ ਪਉੜੀ (ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ ਭਗਤੀ, ਅਥਵਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪੁਰ ਅਰੂੜ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ 'ਪਿਰਮ ਰਸ') ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੇ ਰਸ (ਅਨੰਦ) ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
Climbing the stairs of high regards, the gurmukh enjoys the delight of love of the beloved Lord.

ਸਚੁਨਾਉਕਰਤਾਰੁਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਈਐ।
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ?
The true name of the creator Lord is received from the gurmukhs,
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਓਅੰਕਾਰਸਬਦਿਧਿਆਈਐ।
ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਮੂਲ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਧਿਆਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
Amidst the gurmukhs the Oankar Word is remembered.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਬਦੁਵੀਚਾਰੁਸਦਾਲਿਵਲਾਈਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਸਿੱਖਕੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਦੀ ਹੈ।
Amid the gurmukhs the word is pondered upon and the consciousness is merged in it,
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਚੁਅਚਾਰੁਸਚੁਕਮਾਈਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ, (ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਸਿਖਕੇ) ਸਚਿ ਕਮਾਈਏ।
Living the truthful life of the gurmukhs, the truth is accomplished in life.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਮੋਖਦੁਆਰੁਸਹਜਿਸਮਾਈਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ) ਸਹਜ ਪਦ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਈਏ।
Gurmukh is that door of liberation through which one automatically enters his innate nature (the divine self).
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਾਮੁਅਧਾਰੁਨਪਛੋਤਾਈਐ।੧੬।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਧਾਰ ਲਈਏ (ਜੋ) ਅੰਤ ਪਛੋਤਾਵਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਏ।
He base of name (of the Lord) is attained from gurmukhs and one does not repent in the end.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਰਸੁਪਰਸਿਪਾਰਸੁਹੋਈਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਰੂਪੀ) ਪਾਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੋਹਕੇ ਪਾਰਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
Touching the philosopher's stone in the form of a gurmukh one himself becomes the philosophers stone.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਹੋਇਅਪਰਸੁਦਰਸੁਅਲੋਈਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਆਪ ਅਪਰਸ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕੁਸੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ) ਦਰਸ (ਰਿਦੇ ਰੂਪੀ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ) ਵਿਚ (ਭਗਵੰਤ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ) ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਯਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰੀਏ),
By the glimpse only of the gurmukh, all evil passions become untouchable.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਬ੍ਰਹਮਧਿਆਨੁਦੁਬਿਧਾਖੋਈਐ।
(ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਹੈ ('ਦੁਬਿਧਾ') ਦ੍ਵੈਤ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
Meditating upon the Lord amid the gurmukhs one loses duality.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਰਧਨਰੂਪਨਿੰਦਨਗੋਈਐ।
ਪਰ ਧਨ, (ਪਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਰੂਪ (ਵੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੱਕਦੇ ਤੇ) ਨਾ ਹੀ (ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
In the company of the gurmukhs neither the wealth and physical beauty of others is seen nor is backbiting committed.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁਨਾਉਸਬਦੁਵਿਲੋਈਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ (ਮੁਖੋਂ ਉਚਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਰਿੜਕਦੇ (ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ) ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
In the company of gurmukhs only nectar-name in the form of Word is churned and the essence is acquired.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਹਸਦਾਜਾਇਅੰਤਨਰੋਈਐ।੧੭।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਹਸਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
In the company of gurmukhs the jiva (self) at last becomes happy and does not wail and weep.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੰਡਿਤੁਹੋਇਜਗੁਪਰਬੋਧੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਪੰਡਤ ਹੋਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
As a knowledgeable person, the gurmukh imparts knowledge to the world.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਆਪੁਗਵਾਇਅੰਦਰੁਸੋਧੀਐ।
ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਣ ਸ਼ੁਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Losing their ego, the gurmukhs purify their inner-self.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਤੁਸੰਤੋਖੁਨਕਾਮੁਕਰੋਧੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਤ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ (ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ), ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ (ਆਦਿ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਬਲ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਪਾਉਂਦੇ)।
Gurmukhs adopt truth and contentment and do not indulge in lust and anger.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਹੈਨਿਰਵੈਰੁਨਵੈਰਵਿਰੋਧੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਹੋਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦੇ।
Gurmukhs have no enmity and opposition towards anyone.
ਚਹੁਵਰਨਾਉਪਦੇਸੁਸਹਜਿਸਮੋਧੀਐ।
ਚਹੁੰ ਵਰਣਾਂ (ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਆਵੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਕੇ ('ਸਹਜ') ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪਦ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਮਾਇ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Preaching to all the four varnas, gurmukhs merge in equipoise.
ਧੰਨੁਜਣੇਦੀਮਾਉਜੋਧਾਜੋਧੀਐ।੧੮।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਣਨੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਧੰਨਤਾ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਜੋਧਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵਡੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ। (ਯਥਾ-'ਤਿਨ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਣੇਦੀ ਮਾਉ ਆਏ ਸਫਲੁ ਸੇ'॥)
Blest is the mother of a gurmukh who has given birth to him and the gurmukh is the best among warriors.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਤਿਗੁਰਵਾਹੁਸਬਦਿਸਲਾਹੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਤਿ ਰੂਪ (ਗੁਰ+ਵਾਹ=) ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Gurmukh eulogises the wondrous Lord in the form.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਿਫਤਿਸਲਾਹਸਚੀਪਤਿਸਾਹੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ (ਨੂੰ) ਸਚੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ (ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ) ਸਿਫਤ ਸਲਾਹ ਦੀ (ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ। ਯਥਾ-'ਜਿਨੋ ਬਖਸੇ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ')।
Gurmukhs have true kingdom of God's praises.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਚੁਸਨਾਹੁਦਾਦਿਇਲਾਹੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਸੰਜੋਅ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ।
Gurmukhs have armour of truth which they have been gifted by the Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਗਾਡੀਰਾਹੁਸਚੁਨਿਬਾਹੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਗਾਡੀ ਰਾਹ ਹੈ (ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
For gurmukhs only the beautiful highway of truth has been prepared.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਮਤਿਅਗਾਹੁਗਾਹਣਿਗਾਹੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ('ਅਗਾਹ') ਡੂੰਘੀ ਹੈ ਪਕੜਨ ਨਾਲ ਪਕੜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, (ਭਾਵ ਕੋਈ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ)।
Their wisdom is unfathomable and to get to it one gets perplexed.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੁਨਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੀਐ।੧੯।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਲੋਕ ਆਪ) ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਹਨ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਆਸ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਖਦੇ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਧਾਰਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ) ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, (ਅਥਵਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਤਾਂ ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ)।
Gurmukh is carefree in the world but not so towards the Lord.
ਪਉੜੀ੨੦
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੂਰਾਤੋਲੁਨਤੋਲਣਿਤੋਲੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੋਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੈ, ਤੱਕੜੀ ਪਰ ਤੋਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ)।
Gurmukh is perfect; he cannot be weighed on any scale.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੂਰਾਬੋਲੁਨਬੋਲਣਿਬੋਲੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਭੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੈ, (ਹੋਰ) ਬੋਲਣ (ਬਿਰਥਾ ਬਕਵਾਦ) ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦੇ।
Every word by gurmukh comes to be true and perfect and nothing can be said about him.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਮਤਿਅਡੋਲਨਡੋਲਣਿਡੋਲੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁਧੀ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ) ਡੁਲਾਵਨ ਨਾਲ ਡੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।
The wisdom of gurmukhs is stable one and does not get destabilised even if done so.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਿਰਮੁਅਮੋਲੁਨਮੋਲਣਿਮੋਲੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹੈ (ਕਿਸੇ) ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕੀਦਾ।
The love of gurmukhs is invaluable and it cannot be purchased at any cost.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪੰਥੁਨਿਰੋਲੁਨਰੋਲਣਿਰੋਲੀਐ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੰਥ ਸੁਧ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ) ਰੁਲਾਇਆ ਰੁਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
The way of gurmukh is clear and distinct; it cannot be subsumed and dissipated by any one.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਬਦੁਅਲੋਲੁਪੀਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਝੋਲੀਐ।੨੦।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ('ਅਲੋਲ'=) ਸਥਿਰ ਹੈ (ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੂਰ ਨੂੰ) ('ਝੋਲੀਏ'=) ਹਟਾਕੇ (ਇਸ) ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦਾ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ (ਯੋਗ) ਹੈ।
The words of gurmukhs are steadfast; along with them one quaffs nectar by deleting passions and carnal desires.
ਪਉੜੀ੨੧
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੁਖਫਲਪਾਇਸਭਫਲਪਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੇ ਸੁਖਫਲ (ਆਤਮ ਫਲ) ਪਾ ਲੀਤਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਭ ਫਲ ਪਾ ਲੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
By attaining pleasure-fruit gurmukhs have received all the fruits.
ਰੰਗਸੁਰੰਗਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਸਭਰੰਗਲਾਇਆ।
(ਪਰਮਾਰਥ ਦੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੀ ਭੂਮਕਾ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ ਹੈ, (ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ) (ਇਸੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਾਰੇ ਰੰਗ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Putting on the beautiful colour of the Lord they have enjoyed the delight of all the colours.
ਗੰਧਸੁਗੰਧਿਸਮਾਇਬੋਹਿਬੁਹਾਇਆ।
(ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ) (ਨਿਰਲੇਪਤਾ ਦੀ) ਗੰਧ, (ਅਰ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਦੀ) ਸੁਗੰਧ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਓਸੇ) ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਗੰਧਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Merging in the fragrance (of devotion) they make everyone fragrant.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਰਸਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇਸਭਰਸਆਇਆ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਇਸੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
They have satiated with the delight of nectar and now they feel as if they have had all the taste.
ਸਬਦਸੁਰਤਿਲਿਵਲਾਇਅਨਹਦਵਾਇਆ।
ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਰਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ('ਲਿਵ'=) ਤਾਰ ਲਾ ਰਖੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ (ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ) ਹਨ।
Merging their consciousness in the Word they have become one with the unstruck melody.
ਨਿਜਘਰਿਨਿਹਚਲਜਾਇਦਹਦਿਸਧਾਇਆ।੨੧।੧੯।ਉਨੀ।
(ਇਸ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਅਗੇ ਅੰਤਲੀ ਤੁਕ ਵਿਖੇ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ) ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿਖੇ ਅਚੱਲ ਹੋਕੇ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੌੜਦੇ।
Now they get stabilised in their inner self and their mind does not now wonder in all the ten directions.
