ਜਾਨੋਬਸੰਤਕੇਅੰਤਸਮੈਕਦਲੀਦਲਪਉਨਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਉਖਾਰੇ॥੬੧੦॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁੱਤ ਦੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਵਾ ਨੇ ਕੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਝੁੰਡ ਪੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿਤੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੬੧੦॥
The elephants, horses, chariots and charioteers fell down in the battlefield after having been chopped like the trees of banana uprooted and thrown around by the violent wind at the end of spring.610.
ਧਾਇਪਰੇਕਰਕੋਪਬਨੇਚਰਹੈਤਿਨਕੇਜੀਅਰੋਸਜਗਯੋ॥
ਬੰਦਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਧਾ ਕੇ ਪਏ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਕਿਲਕਾਰਪੁਕਾਰਪਰੇਚਹੂੰਘਾਰਣਛਾਡਿਹਠੀਨਹਿਏਕਭਗਯੋ॥
ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਾ ਪਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਭੱਜਿਆ।
The forces of monkeys also fell on the enemy, having been greatly enraged in the heart and gushed forward from all the four sides, shouting violently without retreating form its position.
ਗਹਿਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਗਦਾਬਰਛੀਉਤਤੇਦਲਰਾਵਨਕੋਉਮਗਯੋ॥
ਉਧਰੋਂ ਰਾਵਣ ਦਾ ਦਲ ਵੀ ਤੀਰ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਗੁਦਾ ਤੇ ਬਰਛੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਮਡ ਪਿਆ। ਯੁੱਧ (ਵਿੱਚ) ਉਲਝ ਕੇ
ਭਟਜੂਝਿਅਰੂਝਿਗਿਰੇਧਰਣੀਦਿਜਰਾਜਭ੍ਰਮਯੋਸਿਵਧਯਾਨਡਿਗਯੋ॥੬੧੧॥
ਯੋਧੇ ਜੂਝਦੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਏ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਦਿਗਰਾਜ (ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ) ਭਰਮਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਛੁੱਟ ਗਿਆ ॥੬੧੧॥
From the other side, the army of Ravana rushed forward taking its weapons and arms like arrows, bows, maces, fell in such a way that the moon taking its course got illusioned and the contemplation of Shiva was obstructed.611.
ਜੂਝਿਅਰੂਝਿਗਿਰੇਭਟਵਾਤਨਘਾਇਨਘਾਇਘਨੇਭਿਭਰਾਨੇ॥
ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੂਝ ਕੇ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਫੱਟਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
ਜੰਬੁਕਗਿਧਪਿਸਾਚਨਿਸਾਚਰਫੂਲਫਿਰੇਰਨਮੌਰਹਸਾਨੇ॥
ਗਿਦੜ, ਗਿਰਝਾਂ, ਪਿਸ਼ਾਚ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸਾਚਰ (ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ) ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਦ-ਗਦ ਹੋਏ (ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ) ਫੁੱਲੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
After receiving wounds on the body, the warriors swung and began to fall and the jackals, vultures, ghosts and fiends were delighted in mind.
ਕਾਪਉਠੀਸੁਦਿਸਾਬਿਦਿਸਾਦਿਗਪਾਲਨਫੇਰਪ੍ਰਲੈਅਨੁਮਾਨੇ॥
(ਉਸ ਯੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਕੰਬ ਉਠੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਗਪਾਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਪਰਲੋ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
All the directions trembled on seeing the terrible war and the digpals (supervisors and directors) guessed the arrival of doomsday
ਭੂਮਿਅਕਾਸਉਦਾਸਭਏਗਨਦੇਵਅਦੇਵਭ੍ਰਮੇਭਹਰਾਨੇ॥੬੧੨॥
ਭੂਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਘਬਰਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ॥੬੧੨॥
The earth and sky became anxious and seeing the dreadfulness of the war the gods and demons were both bewildered.612.
ਰਾਵਨਰੋਸਭਰਯੋਰਨਮੋਰਿਸਸੌਸਰਓਘਪ੍ਰਓਘਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ॥
ਰਾਵਣ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਚਲਾਣ ਲੱਗਾ
Being highly infuriated in mind Ravana began to discharge arrows collectively and
ਭੂਮਿਅਕਾਸਦਿਸਾਬਿਦਿਸਾਸਭਓਰਰੁਕੇਨਹਿਜਾਤਨਿਹਾਰੇ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਤੀ, ਆਕਾਸ਼, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਰੁਕ ਗਏ, ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
With his arrows the earth, sky and all directions were torn asunder
ਸ੍ਰੀਰਘੁਰਾਜਸਰਾਸਨਲੈਛਿਨਮੌਛੁਭਕੈਸਰਪੁੰਜਨਿਵਾਰੇ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਛਿਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ,
On this side Ram was enraged for and instant and destroyed the collective discharging of all those arrows and
ਜਾਨਕਭਾਨਉਦੈਨਿਸਕਉਲਖਿਕੈਸਭਹੀਤਪਤੇਜਪਧਾਰੇ॥੬੧੩॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਚਮਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੬੧੩॥
The darkness that had spread on account of arrows, got cleared by the spread of the sunshine again on all the four sides.613.
ਰੋਸਭਰੇਰਨਮੋਰਘੁਨਾਥਕਮਾਨਲੈਬਾਨਅਨੇਕਚਲਾਏ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੇਕ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਏ,
Filled with anger Ram discharged many arrows and
ਬਾਜਗਜੀਗਜਰਾਜਘਨੇਰਥਰਾਜਬਨੇਕਰਿਰੋਸਉਡਾਏ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਘੋੜੇ, ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਰ, ਹਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਥ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਉਡਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Caused the elephants, horses and charioteers to fly away
ਜੇਦੁਖਦੇਹਕਟੇਸੀਅਕੇਹਿਤਤੇਰਨਆਜਪ੍ਰਤਖਦਿਖਾਏ॥
ਸੀਤਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਰਾਮ ਨੇ) ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਹੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਅੱਜ ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਦਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
The way in which the anguish of Sita could be removed and she could be set free,
ਰਾਜੀਵਲੋਚਨਰਾਮਕੁਮਾਰਘਨੋਰਨਘਾਲਘਨੋਘਰਘਾਏ॥੬੧੪॥
ਕਮਲ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਕੇ (ਅਨੇਕ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਘਰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ ॥੬੧੪॥
Ram made today all such efforts and that lotus-eyed one caused the desertion of many homes with his terrible warfare.614.
ਰਾਵਨਰੋਸਭਰਯੋਗਰਜਯੋਰਨਮੋਲਹਿਕੈਸਭਸੈਨਭਜਾਨਯੋ॥
ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਜਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਬੰਦਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਭੱਜ ਗਈ।
Ravana thundered in rage and causing his army to rush forward,
ਆਪਹੀਹਾਕਹਥਿਯਾਰਹਠੀਗਹਿਸ੍ਰੀਰਘੁਨੰਦਨਸੋਰਣਠਾਨਯੋ॥
ਖ਼ੁਦ ਹੀ ਲਲਕਾਰਾ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਹਠੀ (ਰਾਵਣ) ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Shouting loudly and holding his weapons in his hands, he came straight towards Ram and fought with him
ਚਾਬਕਮਾਰਕੁਦਾਇਤੁਰੰਗਨਜਾਇਪਰਯੋਕਛੁਤ੍ਰਾਸਨਮਾਨਯੋ॥
ਚਾਬਕ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾ ਕੇ, ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਮੰਨੇ (ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ) ਜਾ ਪਿਆ।
He caused his horses to gallop fearlessly by whipping them.
ਬਾਨਨਤੇਬਿਧੁਬਾਹਨਤੇਮਨਮਾਰਤਕੋਰਥਛੋਰਿਸਿਧਾਨਯੋ॥੬੧੫॥
ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ (ਬਾਹਨ) ਨੂੰ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿਤਾ (ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਦੌੜੇ) ਮਾਨੋ ਪੌਣ ਦੇ ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਤ ਪਾ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੬੧੫॥
He left his chariot I order to kill Ram with his arrows and came forward.615.
ਸ੍ਰੀਰਘੁਨੰਦਨਕੀਭੁਜਕੇਜਬਛੋਰਸਰਾਸਨਬਾਨਉਡਾਨੇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਭੁਜਾ ਤੋਂ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਉਡਣ ਲੱਗੇ
When the arrows were discharged form the hands of Ram the earth,
ਭੂੰਮਿਅਕਾਸਪਤਾਰਚਹੂੰਚਕਪੂਰਰਹੇਨਹੀਜਾਤਪਛਾਨੇ॥
ਤਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਚੱਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਸਰ ਗਏ, ਜੋ ਪਛਾਣਨੇ ਵੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Sky, netherworld and four directions could hardly be recognized
ਤੋਰਸਨਾਹਸੁਬਾਹਨਕੇਤਨਆਹਕਰੀਨਹੀਪਾਰਪਰਾਨੇ॥
ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਵਚਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਹ (ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਏ।
