ਛੋਦਕਰੋਟਨਓਟਨਕੋਟਅਟਾਨਮੋਜਾਨਕੀਬਾਨਪਛਾਨੇ॥੬੧੬॥
ਖੋਪਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਟੋਪਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਛੇਕ ਕੇ ਕਿਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਟਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਡਿੱਗੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੀਤਾ ਨੇ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ॥੬੧੬॥
They penetrated to the other side, when the arrows fell after piercing the steel-armours, Sita realized that these arrows were discharged by Ram.616.
ਸ੍ਰੀਅਸੁਰਾਰਦਨਕੇਕਰਕੋਜਿਨਏਕਹੀਬਾਨਬਿਖੈਤਨਚਾਖਯੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ (ਅਸੁਰਾਰਦਨ) ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਤੀਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਚਖ ਲਿਆ,
ਭਾਜਸਰਯੋਨਭਿਰਯੋਹਠਕੈਭਟਏਕਹੀਘਾਇਧਰਾਪਰਰਾਖਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਸੂਰਮਾ ਨਾ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ) ਭੱਜ ਸਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਹਠ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਭਿੜ ਸਕਿਆ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਸੱਟ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ।
He, who was struck by arrows of Ram, that warrior could neither run away from that place nor could fight but fell dead on the ground.
ਛੇਦਸਨਾਹਸੁਬਾਹਨਕੋਸਰਓਟਨਕੋਟਕਰੋਟਨਨਾਖਯੋ॥
(ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ) ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਵਚਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਕ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਏ।
ਸੁਆਰਜੁਝਾਰਅਪਾਰਹਠੀਰਨਹਾਰਗਿਰੇਧਰਹਾਇਨਭਾਖਯੋ॥੬੧੭॥
ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਘੋੜ-ਚੜ੍ਹੇ ਹਠੀਲੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਏ ਪਰ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ) ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਹਾਇ ਤਕ (ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼) ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢੀ ॥੬੧੭॥
The arrows of Ram pierced through the armour of warriors and then mighty fighters fell down on the earth without uttering a sign.617.
ਆਨਅਰੇਸੁਮਰੇਸਭਹੀਭਟਜੀਤਬਚੇਰਨਛਾਡਿਪਰਾਨੇ॥
(ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ) ਆ ਕੇ (ਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿੰਨੇ ਵੀ ਅੜੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਰ ਗਏ। ਜਿਊਂਦੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਬਚੇ, ਜੋ ਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
Ravana called all his warriors, but those remaining fighters fled away
ਦੇਵਅਦੇਵਨਕੇਜਿਤੀਯਾਰਨਕੋਟਹਤੇਕਰਏਕਨਜਾਨੇ॥
ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤਣ (ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਵਣ) ਨੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਤਾ, ਪਰ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਇਕ ਯੋਧੇ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਅਸਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
Ravna killed millions of gods and demons, but it made no difference in the battlefield.
ਸ੍ਰੀਰਘੁਰਾਜਪ੍ਰਾਕ੍ਰਮਕੋਲਖਤੇਜਸੰਬੂਹਸਭੈਭਹਰਾਨੇ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੈਂਤ ਘਬਰਾ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਰਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਪ ਕੇ,
Seeing the power of Ram the illustrious persons were perturbed and
ਓਟਨਕੂਦਕਰੋਟਨਫਾਧਸੁਲੰਕਹਿਛਾਡਿਬਿਲੰਕਸਿਧਾਨੇ॥੬੧੮॥
ਖਾਈਆਂ (ਕਰੋਟਨ) ਤੋਂ ਉਛਾਲ ਕੇ, ਲੰਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵਲ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ॥੬੧੮॥
Jumping over the walls of the citadel, they ran away.618.
ਰਾਵਨਰੋਸਭਰਯੋਰਨਮੋਗਹਿਬੀਸਹੂੰਬਾਹਿਹਥਯਾਰਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ॥
ਰਾਵਣ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੀਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਬਾਂਹਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਚਲਾਉਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਭੂੰਮਿਅਕਾਸਦਿਸਾਬਿਦਿਸਾਚਕਿਚਾਰਰੁਕੇਨਹੀਜਾਤਨਿਹਾਰੇ॥
ਧਰਤੀ, ਆਕਾਸ਼, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਰੁਕ ਗਏ, ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
In great fury Ravana attacked with weapons from all the twenty arms and with his blows the earth, sky and all the four directions became invisible
ਫੋਕਨਤੈਫਲਤੈਮਧਤੈਅਧਤੈਬਧਕੈਰਣਮੰਡਲਡਾਰੇ॥
(ਰਾਮ ਨੇ) ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਫੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਅੱਧ ਵਿਚਾਲਿਓਂ ਹੀ (ਰਾਵਣ ਦੇ) ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ-ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿਤਾ।
ਛੰਤ੍ਰਧੁਜਾਬਰਬਾਜਰਥੀਰਥਕਾਟਿਸਭੈਰਘੁਰਾਜਉਤਾਰੇ॥੬੧੯॥
(ਰਾਵਣ ਦਾ) ਛਤਰ, ਧੁਜਾ, ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਘੋੜੇ, ਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਰਥਵਾਨ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ (ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ) ਭੁੰਜੇ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੬੧੯॥
Ram threw away the enemies from the war-arena, chopping them easily like a fruit. Ram chopped and threw all the canopies, banners, horses and charioteers belonging to Ravana.619.
ਰਾਵਨਚਉਪਚਲਯੋਚਪਕੈਨਿਜਬਾਜਬਿਹੀਨਜਬੈਰਥਜਾਨਯੋ॥
ਰਾਵਣ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਖਿਝ ਕੇ ਹਠ-ਪੂਰਵਕ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ।
ਢਾਲਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲਗਦਾਬਰਛੀਗਹਿਸ੍ਰੀਰਘੁਨੰਦਨਸੋਰਨਠਾਨਯੋ॥
ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਢਾਲ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ, ਗਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਛੀ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ-ਅਸਤ੍ਰ) ਫੜ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਗਿਆ।
When Ravana saw his chariot deprived of the horses, he marched forward quickly and holding his shield, trident mace and spear in his hands he fought with Ram.
ਧਾਇਪਰਯੋਲਲਕਾਰਹਠੀਕਪਪੁੰਜਨਕੋਕਛੁਤ੍ਰਾਸਨਮਾਨਯੋ॥
ਹਠੀ (ਰਾਵਣ) ਲਲਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ।
The persistent Ravana, without any fear of the forces of the monkeys
ਅੰਗਦਆਦਿਹਨਵੰਤਤੇਲੈਭਟਕੋਟਹੁਤੇਕਰਏਕਨਜਾਨਯੋ॥੬੨੦॥
ਅੰਗਦ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਤਕ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਅੰਗਦ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਤਕ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਸੂਰਮੇਂ (ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਸਨ), (ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੬੨੦॥
Moved forward fearlessly, shouting violently. There were many warriors those like Angad, Hanuman etc., but he did not fear anyone.620.
ਰਾਵਨਕੋਰਘੁਰਾਜਜਬੈਰਣਮੰਡਲਆਵਤਮਧਿਨਿਹਾਰਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਬੀਸਸਿਲਾਸਿਤਸਾਇਕਲੈਕਰਿਕੋਪੁਬਡੋਉਰਮਧਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਯੋ॥
(ਤਾਂ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ) ਰਗੜ ਕੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੀਹ ਤੀਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੇਜ਼ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
When the king of Raghava clan saw Ravna coming forward, he (Ram) attacked him by discharging his twenty arrows like slabs on his chest.
ਭੇਦਚਲੇਮਰਮਸਥਲਕੋਸਰਸ੍ਰੋਣਨਦੀਸਰਬੀਚਪਖਾਰਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਤੀਰ ਰਾਵਣ ਦੀ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾੜ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਗਏ) ਮਾਨੋ ਲਹੂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੋਤੇ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ।
ਆਗੇਹੀਰੇਾਂਗਚਲਯੋਹਠਿਕੈਭਟਧਾਮਕੋਭੂਲਨਨਾਮਉਚਾਰਯੋ॥੬੨੧॥
ਪਰ (ਰਾਵਣ) ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹਠ ਕਰਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਲ ਹੀ ਰੇਂਗਣ ਲਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੁੱਲ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੬੨੧॥
These arrows penetrated through his vital parts and he bathed in the stream of blood. Ravana fell down and crawled forward, he forgot even the location of his house.621.
ਰੋਸਭਰਯੋਰਨਮੌਰਘੁਨਾਥਸੁਪਾਨਕੇਬੀਚਸਰਾਸਨਲੈਕੈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਪਾਚਕਪਾਇਹਟਾਇਦਯੋਤਿਹਬੀਸਹੂੰਬਾਹਿਬਿਨਾਓਹਕੈਕੈ॥
(ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ) ਵੀਹਾਂ ਬਾਂਹਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਕੁ ਕਦਮ ਪਿਛੇ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਦੈਦਸਬਾਨਬਿਮਾਨਦਸੋਸਿਰਕਾਟਦਏਸਿਵਲੋਕਪਠੈਕੈ॥
ਫਿਰ ਦਸ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਿਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਰਾਵਣ ਦੇ) ਦਸੇ ਸਿਰ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
With ten arrows be chopped his ten heads for dispatching them to the abode of Shiva
ਸ੍ਰੀਰਘੁਰਾਜਬਰਯੋਸੀਅਕੋਬਹੁਰੋਜਨੁਜੁਧਸੁਯੰਬਰਜੈਕੈ॥੬੨੨॥
(ਇਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਰੂਪ ਸੁਅੰਬਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਅੱਜ ਫਿਰ ਸੀਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੬੨੨॥
After the war Ram wedded Sita again as if he had conquered her in the ceremony of Swayyamvara.622.

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੁਖੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵੀ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਸਨ,
ਲੂਟਲਯੋਧਨਜਉਨਧਨੇਸਕੋਬ੍ਰਹਮਹੁਤੋਚਿਤਮੋਨਨਿਚੀਤੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਲੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਵੀ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਸਚਿੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ,

ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਇੰਦਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਭੂਪ ਲੜੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਜਿਊਂਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰਤੇ ਸਨ,
He with whom many beings like Indra fought, but who could not be conquered
ਸੋਰਨਆਜਭਲੈਂਰਘੁਰਾਜਸੁਜੁਧਸੁਯੰਬਰਕੈਸੀਅਜੀਤੋ॥੬੨੩॥
ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਜ ਚੰਗਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ) ਯੁੱਧ ਸੁਅੰਬਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੬੨੩॥

ਜਦੋਂ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਝਟਪਟ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਰਾਜਾ (ਰਾਵਣ) ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੂਝ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਰਣਤਜਸੂਰੰਸਰਧਰਬੰਕੰ॥
ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਮੇਂ ਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਗਏ।

ਧਕਿਧਕਿਉਚਰੇਭਕਿਭਕਿਬੈਣੰ॥੬੨੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਧੱਕ-ਧੱਕ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੁੜ-ਬੁੜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੬੨੫॥
Seeing Ram with their own eyes they raised utterances of lamentation.625.
ਨਰਬਰਰਾਮੰਬਰਨਰਮਾਰੋ॥
ਪਰਸ਼ੋਤਮ ਰਾਮ (ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ) ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੋ
ਝਟਪਟਬਾਹੰਕਟਿਕਟਿਡਾਰੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਂਹਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਟ-ਪਟ ਕਟ ਦਿਓ।
The superb Ram killed all of them and chopped their arms
ਤਬਸਭਭਾਜੇਰਖਰਖਪ੍ਰਾਣੰ॥
ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਲੰਕਾ ਨੂੰ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
ਖਟਪਟਮਾਰੇਝਟਪਟਬਾਣੰ॥੬੨੬॥
ਆਪੋ-ਧਾਪੀ ਪਈ (ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਜੇ) ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੬੨੬॥
Then all (others) saving themselves, fled away and Ram showered arrows on those running fighters.626.
ਚਟਪਟਰਾਨੀਸਟਪਟਧਾਈ॥
ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਭਜ ਪਈਆਂ
ਰਟਪਟਰੋਵਤਅਟਪਟਆਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਲਿਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਟਦੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਰੋਂਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਬੁਰੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ (ਉਥੇ) ਆ ਗਈਆਂ।
All the queen ran weeping instantly and came to fall at the feet of Ram
