ਤਿਹਹਮਜਾਏ॥
ਰਾਮ ਜਾਣ ਗਏ,
ਹੈਂਦੁਇਭਾਈ॥
ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ,
ਸੁਨਿਰਘੁਰਾਈ॥੮੧੧॥
ਪਰ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਆਖੀ ॥੮੧੨॥
“O the king of Raghu clan! she has come to the forest and given birth to us and we are two brothers.”811.
ਸੁਨਿਸੀਅਰਾਨੀ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ
ਰਘੁਬਰਜਾਨੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਬਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ,
ਚਿਤਪਹਿਚਾਨੀ॥
ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਹਠ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ
ਮੁਖਨਬਖਾਨੀ॥੮੧੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੮੧੩॥
When Sita heard and came to know about Ram, she then, even recognizing him, did not utter a word from her mouth.812.
ਤਿਹਸਿਸਮਾਨਯੋ॥
ਖਿੱਚ-ਖਿੱਚ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਮਾਰੇ,
ਅਤਿਬਲਜਾਨਯੋ॥
ਪਰ ਬਾਲਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਰੇ।
ਹਠਿਰਣਕੀਨੋ॥
(ਉਹ ਵੀ) ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ
ਕਹਨਹੀਦੀਨੋ॥੮੧੩॥
ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਖਿੱਚ-ਖਿੱਚ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੮੧੪॥
She forbade her sons and told them, “Ram is extremely mighty, you are persistently waging a war against him.” Saying this even Sita did not say the whole thing.813.
ਕਸਿਸਰਮਾਰੇ॥
(ਲਵ ਕੁਸ਼ ਨੇ) ਅੰਗ-ਅੰਗ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਸਿਸਨਹੀਹਾਰੇ॥
(ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਬਹੁਬਿਧਿਬਾਣੰ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
ਅਤਿਧਨੁਤਾਣੰ॥੮੧੪॥
ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਜੂਝ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੮੧੫॥
Those boys did not retreat and accept defeat and discharged their arrows with full force after stretching their bows.814.
ਅੰਗਅੰਗਬੇਧੇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ
ਸਭਤਨਛੇਦੇ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਹਾਰ ਗਈ,
ਸਭਦਲਸੂਝੇ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ
ਰਘੁਬਰਜੂਝੇ॥੮੧੫॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੱਜ ਤੁਰੀ ॥੮੧੬॥
Al the limbs of Ram were pierced and his whole body eroded, the whole army came to know this that Ram had passed away.815.
ਜਬਪ੍ਰਭਮਾਰੇ॥
(ਸੈਨਿਕ) ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ,
ਸਭਦਲਹਾਰੇ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ,
ਬਹੁਬਿਧਿਭਾਗੇ॥
ਘਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ,
ਦੁਐਸਿਸਆਗੇ॥੮੧੬॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੮੧੭॥
When Ram passed away, then the whole army began to flee accordingly in front of those two boys.816.
ਫਿਰਿਨਨਿਹਾਰੈਂ॥
ਚੌਪਈ
ਪ੍ਰਭੂਨਚਿਤਾਰੈਂ॥
ਤਦ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ,
ਗ੍ਰਹਦਿਸਿਲੀਨਾ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਦਾ 'ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਬਣ' ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਅਸਰਣਕੀਨਾ॥੮੧੭॥
ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਟੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੈਨਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਛਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ
They were not even turning around to see Ram, and being helpless they fled away to whichever side they could.817.
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਭਰੇ ਗਹਿਣੇ (ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਫਲਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ) ॥੮੧੮॥
CHAUPAI
ਤਬਦੁਹੂੰਬਾਲਅਯੋਧਨਦੇਖਾ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਪਏ ਸਨ। (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ
ਮਨੋਰੁਦ੍ਰਕੀੜਾਬਨਿਪੇਖਾ॥
ਘੋੜੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਉਥੋ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਾਤਾ (ਸੀਤਾ) ਬੈਠੀ ਸੀ।
Then both the boys without any anxiety, looked towards the battlefield like Rudra surveying the forest
ਕਾਟਿਧੁਜਨਕੇਬ੍ਰਿਛਸਵਾਰੇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸੀਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਈ
ਭੂਖਨਅੰਗਅਨੂਪਉਤਾਰੇ॥੮੧੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੀ-ਹੇ ਪੁੱਤਰੋ! ਤੁਸਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੮੧੯॥
The banners were cut and attached to the trees and the unique ornaments of the soldiers were removed from their limbs and thrown away.818.
ਮੂਰਛਭਏਸਭਲਏਉਠਈ॥
ਇਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਰਾਮਾਵਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਲਵ ਦੇ ਘੋੜਾ ਬੰਨਣ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਮ-ਬਧ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਧਿਆਇ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ।
ਬਾਜਸਹਿਤਤਹਗੇਜਹਮਾਈ॥
ਹੁਣ ਸੀਤਾ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਣ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ
Those who were unconscious, the boys raised them and reached the place alongwith the horses, where Sita was sitting
ਦੇਖਿਸੀਆਪਤਿਮੁਖਰੋਦੀਨਾ॥
ਸੀਤਾ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਿਹਾ-
ਕਹਯੋਪੂਤਬਿਧਵਾਮੁਹਿਕੀਨਾ॥੮੧੯॥
ਚੌਪਈ
Seeing her dead husband Sita said, “O sons! you have made me a widow.”819.
ਇਤਿਸ੍ਰੀਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਨਾਟਕੇਰਾਮਵਤਾਰਲਵਬਾਜਬਾਧਵੇਰਾਮਬਧਹ॥
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲਕੜਾਂ ਲਿਆ ਦਿਉ
ਅਥਸੀਤਾਨੇਸਭਜੀਵਾਏਕਥਨੰ॥
ਤਾਂ ਜੁ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ (ਮਸਾਨਾ) ਹੋਵਾਂ।

ਸੀਤਾਬਾਚਪੁਤ੍ਰਨਸੋ॥
(ਸਾਰੀ ਵਾਰਤਾ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੁਨੀ ਰਾਜ (ਬਾਲਮੀਕ) ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੋਏ।

ਚੌਪਈ॥
(ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ-) ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸੁੱਖ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੮੨੦॥
CHAUPAI
ਅਬਮੋਕਉਕਾਸਟਦੇਆਨਾ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸੀਤਾ ਨੇ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੋਂ ਜੋਗ ਅਗਨੀ ਕੱਢਾਂ
ਜਰਉਲਾਗਿਪਹਿਹੋਊਾਂਮਸਾਨਾ॥
(ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ) ਛੱਡ ਦਿਆਂ,
“Bring wood for me so that I may get myself reduced to ashes with my husband.”
ਸੁਨਿਮੁਨਿਰਾਜਬਹੁਤਬਿਧਿਰੋਏ॥
ਤਦੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੋਈ-
ਇਨਬਾਲਨਹਮਰੇਸੁਖਖੋਏ॥੮੨੦॥
ਹੇ ਸੀਤਾ! ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਆਣੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ ॥੮੨੧॥
Hearing this the great sage (Valmiki) lamented greatly and said, “These boys have destroyed all our comforts.”820.
ਜਬਸੀਤਾਤਨਚਹਾਕਿਕਾਢੂੰ॥
ਅਰੂਪਾ ਛੰਦ
ਜੋਗਅਗਨਿਉਪਰਾਜਸੁਛਾਡੂੰ॥
(ਜਦ) ਸੀਤਾ ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ
When Sita said this that she would forsake her body by emanating the Yoga-fire from his own body,
ਤਬਇਮਭਈਗਗਨਤੇਬਾਨੀ॥
ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਣੀ,
ਕਹਾਭਈਸੀਤਾਤੈਇਯਾਨੀ॥੮੨੧॥
ਪਾਣੀ ਮੰਗਵਾ ਕੇ
Then there was heard this speech from heaven, “O Sita, why are you acting childlike.”821.
