ਦਾਮਿਨਿਸੀਲਹਕੈਨਭਿਮੈਡਰਕੈਫਟਗੇਤਿਹਸਤ੍ਰਨਸੀਨੇ॥
(ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ) ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਲਿਸ਼ਕੀ, (ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ) ਡਰ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੇ ਫਟ ਗਏ।
Saying this much, and crating fear in the hearts of the enemies,
ਮਾਰਡਰੈਇਹਹੂੰਹਮਹੂੰਸਭਤ੍ਰਾਸਮਨੈਅਤਿਦੈਤਨਕੀਨੇ॥੭੩॥
ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਿ 'ਇਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੇਗੀ', ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ॥੭੩॥
She began to wave like lightning in the sky and all the demons became fearful thinking that she may kill all of them.73.

ਜਦੋਂ (ਕੰਸ ਨੇ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ) ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੀ, (ਤਾਂ) ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਘਰ ਵਲ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
When Kansa heard all this with his own ears, then he, the standerer of gods, came to his house he thought that he had uselessly killed the sons of his sister
ਝੂਠਹਨੇਹਮਪੈਭਗਨੀਸੁਤਜਾਇਕੈਪਾਇਨਸੀਸਨਿਵਾਯੋ॥
(ਸੋਚਣ ਲਗਾ) ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਝੂਠ (ਬੋਲ ਕੇ) ਭੈਣ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ। (ਫਿਰ) ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭੈਣ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ
Thinking this, he bowed down his head on the feet of his sister
ਗ੍ਯਾਨਕਥਾਕਰਕੈਅਤਿਹੀਬਹੁਦੇਵਕੀਔਬਸੁਦੇਵਰਿਝਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ 'ਦੇਵਕੀ' ਅਤੇ 'ਬਸੁਦੇਵ' ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
Talking to them at length he delighted birth Devaki and Vasudev
ਹ੍ਵੈਕੈਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿਬੁਲਾਇਲੁਹਾਰਕੋਲੋਹਅਉਮੋਹਕੋਫਾਧਕਟਾਯੋ॥੭੪॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲੁਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਹੇ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਟਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੭੪॥
Having been pleased himself, he called the ironsmith, he got the chains of Devaki and Vasudev cut and freed them.74.

ਬਾਲਕਜੋਮਮਦੇਸਮੈਸੋਸਭਡਾਰੋਮਾਰ॥੭੫॥
ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਬਾਲਕ (ਇਕ ਦੋ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਨਮੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਰਵਾ ਦੇਵੋ ॥੭੫॥
Calling all his Ministers and holding consultations with them, Kansa said, “All the infants in my country be killed.”75.

ਭਾਗਵਤ ਪੁਰਾਣ (ਦਸਮ ਸਕੰਧ) ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸੁੱਧ ਕਥਾ (ਜੋ) ਬਹੁਤ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹੀ ਹੈ।
This chaste story of Bhagvata has been described very aptly and
ਬਾਕੀਕਹੋਫੁਨਿਅਉਰਕਥਾਕੋਸੁਭਰੂਪਧਰਿਯੋਬ੍ਰਿਜਮਧਿਮੁਰਾਰੀ॥
ਬਾਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ। (ਉਧਰ) ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਦੇਵਸਭੈਹਰਖੇਸੁਨਿਭੂਮਹਿਅਉਰਮਨੈਹਰਖੈਨਰਨਾਰੀ॥
(ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਆਨੰਦਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ (ਸਭ) ਇਸਤਰੀ-ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Seeing whom the gods as well as the men and women of the earth were filled with joy,
ਮੰਗਲਹੋਹਿਘਰਾਘਰਮੈਉਤਰਿਯੋਅਵਤਾਰਨਕੋਅਵਤਾਰੀ॥੭੬॥
ਘਰ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਵਤਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੭੬॥
Seeing this incarnation of incarnations, there were rejoicings in every house.76.
ਜਾਗਉਠੀਜਸੁਧਾਜਬਹੀਪਿਖਿਪੁਤ੍ਰਹਿਦੇਨਲਗੀਹੁਨੀਆਹੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਜਾਗ ਪਈ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਲੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇਣ ਲਗੀ।
When Yashoda awoke, she became extremely happy on seeing the son,
ਪੰਡਿਤਨਕੋਅਰੁਗਾਇਨਕੋਬਹੁਦਾਨਦੀਓਸਭਹੀਗੁਨੀਆਹੈ॥
ਪੰਡਿਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਗਵੱਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ-ਬਹੁਤ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
She bestowed charities in abundance on the Pundits, singers and talented persons
ਪੁਤ੍ਰਭਯੋਸੁਨਿਕੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਭਾਮਿਨਓਢਕੈਲਾਲਚਲੀਚੁਨੀਆਹੈ॥
(ਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਘਰ) ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਬ੍ਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਲਾਲ ਚੁੰਨੀਆਂ ਓੜ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਈਆਂ
Knowing about the birth of a son to Yashoda, the women of Braja moved out of their houses wearing red head-cloths
ਜਿਉਮਿਲਕੈਘਨਕੇਦਿਨਮੈਉਡਕੈਸੁਚਲੀਜੁਮਨੋਮੁਨੀਆਹੈ॥੭੭॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਰਸਾਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਨੋ ਲਾਲੜੀਆਂ (ਦੀ ਡਾਰ) ਉਡ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੭੭॥
It seemed that within the clouds, the gems are moving scattered hither and thither.77.

ਪੁਤ੍ਰਭਯੋਹਮਰੇਗ੍ਰਿਹੈਜਾਇਕਹੀਅਰਦਾਸਿ॥੭੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ (ਕਿ) ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੭੮॥
The chiefrain Nand to meet Kansa alongwith some people that a son a son had been born in his house.78.

ਜਦੋਂ ਨੰਦ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਿਆ (ਤਦੋਂ) ਬਸੁਦੇਵ ਨੇ (ਸਾਰੇ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਜੋ) ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਸੀ
ਭੈਹ੍ਵੈਹੈਤੁਮਕੋਬਡੋਸੁਨੋਗੋਪਪਤਿਭੇਵ॥੭੯॥
(ਨੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਦਸਦਿਆਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ) ਹੇ ਗਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਭੇਦ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਲਗੇਗਾ ॥੭੯॥
When Vasudev heard about the return (journey) of Nand, then he said to Nand, the chief of Gopas (milkmen,) “You should be extremely fearful” (because Kansa had ordered the killing of all the boys).79.

ਕੰਸ ਨੇ ਬਕ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਬਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਕੰਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਬਕ ਦੈਂਤ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਪੂਤਨਾ! ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਜ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ।
Kansa said to Bakasur, “Listen to me and do this work of mine
ਬਾਰਕਜੇਜਨਮੇਇਹਦੇਸਮੈਤਾਹਿਕੌਜਾਇਕੈਸੀਘ੍ਰਸੰਘਾਰੋ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦੇ,
All the boys who are born in this country, you may destroy them immediately
ਕਾਲਵਹੈਹਮਰੋਕਹੀਐਤਿਹਤ੍ਰਾਸਡਰਿਯੋਹੀਅਰਾਮਮਭਾਰੋ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਲ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੈ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
One of these boys will be the cause of my death, therefore my heart is greatly fearful.” Kansa was worried,
ਹਾਲਬਿਹਾਲਭਯੋਤਿਹਕਾਲਮਨੋਤਨਮੈਜੁਡਸਿਓਅਹਿਕਾਰੋ॥੮੦॥
(ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੰਸ) ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਹਾਲੋਂ ਬਿਹਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਮਾਨੋ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਾ ਸੱਪ ਲੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੮੦॥
Thinking in this way it seemed that the black serpent had stung him.80.

ਪੂਤਨਾ ਨੇ ਕੰਸ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਇਹ ਆਗਿਆ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਤਦੋਂ ਪੂਤਨਾ ਨੇ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ) ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ,
ਬਰਮਾਜਾਏਸਬਹਨੋਮਿਟੇਤਿਹਾਰੋਤਾਤ॥੮੧॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਲੜਕੇ) ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੁਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ॥੮੧॥
Hearing this, Putna said to Kansa,” I shall go and kill all the children and thus all your suffering will end.”81.

ਸੀਸਨਿਵਾਇਉਠੀਤਬਬੋਲਿਸੁਘੋਲਿਮਿਠਾਲਪਟੌਥਨਮੈ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਪੂਤਨਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਕੇ ਉਠੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ, ਮੈਂ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਤੇਲੀਆ ਘੋਲ ਕੇ ਥਣਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਲੇਪ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ।
ਬਾਲਜੁਪਾਨਕਰੇਤਜੇਪ੍ਰਾਨਨਤਾਹਿਮਸਾਨਕਰੋਂਛਿਨਮੈ॥
ਜੋ ਬਾਲ ਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੰਘੇਗਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਛੁਟ ਜਾਣਗੇ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛਿਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ।
Saying this and bowing her head she got up and applied the sweet poison to her teats, so that whichever child will suck her teat, he may die in an instant.
ਬੁਧਿਤਾਨਸੁਜਾਨਕਹਿਯੋਸਤਿਮਾਨਸੁਆਇਹੌਂਟੋਰਕੈਤਾਹਨਿਮੈ॥
(ਪੂਤਨਾ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, (ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ) ਸੱਚ ਮੰਨੋ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੋਰ ਆਵਾਂਗੀ।
ਨਿਰਭਉਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਜਕਰੋਨਗਰੀਸਗਰੀਜਿਨਸੋਚਕਰੋਮਨਮੈ॥੮੨॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਨਿਰਭੈ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਨਗਰੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੋ, (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ॥੮੨॥
“O intelligent, wise and truthful king! We all have come in your service, rule fearlessly and remove all anxieties.”82.
ਕਬਿਯੋਬਾਚਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਦੋਹਰਾ:

ਅਤਿਪਾਪਨਜਗੰਨਾਥਪਰਬੀੜਾਲੀਯੋਉਠਾਇ॥
ਵੱਡੀ ਪਾਪਣ (ਪੂਤਨਾ) ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਬੀੜਾ ਚੁਕ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਪਟਰੂਪਸੋਰਹਸਜੇਗੋਕੁਲਪਹੁੰਚੀਜਾਇ॥੮੩॥
ਕਪਟੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੂਤਨਾ ਨੇ ਸੋਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ॥੮੩॥
That sinful woman resolved to kill Krishna, the Lord of the world and completely embellishing herself and wearing a deceptive garb, she reached Gokul.83.
