ਬਾਤਸੁਨੋਪਤਿਕੀਪਤਨੀਤੁਮਡਾਰਦਈਦਧਿਕੀਸਭਖਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ, (ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਨੇ) ਦਹੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਟੀਆਂ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Said to Nand’s wife Yashoda that Krishna had caused all the vessels to fall down
ਕਾਨਹਿਕੇਡਰਤੇਹਮਚੋਰਕੈਰਾਖਤਹੈਚੜਿਊਚਅਟਾਰੀ॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੱਖਣ ਨੂੰ) ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਟਾਰੀ 'ਤੇ ਰਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ।
“Because of the fear of Krishna, we keep the butter at a higher place,
ਊਖਲਕੋਧਰਿਕੈਮਨਹਾਪਰਖਾਤਹੈਲੰਗਰਦੈਕਰਿਗਾਰੀ॥੧੨੪॥
ਪਰ (ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ) ਊਖਲ ਧਰ ਕੇ, ਮਨ੍ਹੇ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮ ('ਲੰਗਰ') ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗਾਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਢਦਾ (ਮੱਖਣ) ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੪॥
But still he, with the support of mortars, gets high up and abusing us eats the butter alongwith other children.”124.
ਹੋਤਨਹੀਜਿਹਕੇਘਰਮੈਦਧਿਦੈਕਰਿਗਾਰਨਸੋਰਕਰੈਹੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਧ ਦਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਗਾਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਰੌਲਾ ਮਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
“O Yashoda! The person in whose house they do not get butter, there they raising noises, call bad names
ਜੋਲਰਕਾਜਨਿਕੈਖਿਝਹੈਜਨਤੋਮਿਲਿਸੋਟਨਸਾਥਮਰੈਹੈ॥
(ਕੋਈ) ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੇ ਲੜਕਾ ਜਾਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਲਕ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸੋਟਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
If someone gets angry with them, considering them as boys, they then beat him with their clubs
ਆਇਪਰੈਜੁਤ੍ਰੀਆਤਿਹਪੈਸਿਰਕੇਤਿਹਬਾਰਉਖਾਰਡਰੈਹੈ॥
(ਜੇ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਮੱਖਣ ਚੁਰਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ) ਉਤੋਂ (ਕੋਈ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਆ ਪਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਲ ਪੁਟ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
“Besides this if some woman comes and tries to reprimand them, then they all pull down her hair and
ਬਾਤਸੁਨੋਜਸੁਦਾਸੁਤਕੀਸੁਬਿਨਾਉਤਪਾਤਨਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਟਰੈਹੈ॥੧੨੫॥
ਹੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ! ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਲੈ, ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਵ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਲਦਾ ॥੧੨੫॥
O Yashoda! Listen to the behavious of your son, he does not comply without conflict.”125.
ਬਾਤਸੁਨੀਜਬਗੋਪਿਨਕੀਜਸੁਦਾਤਬਹੀਮਨਮਾਹਿਖਿਝੀਹੈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੇ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਖਿਝੀ।
Hearing the words of the gopis, Yashoda became angry in her mind,
ਆਇਗਯੋਹਰਿਜੀਤਬਹੀਪਿਖਿਪੁਤ੍ਰਹਿਕੌਮਨਮਾਹਿਰਿਝੀਹੈ॥
ਇਤਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਏ (ਅਤੇ) ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਈ।
But when Krishna came home, she was delighted to see him
ਬੋਲਉਠੇਨੰਦਲਾਲਤਬੈਇਹਗਵਾਰਖਿਝਾਵਨਮੋਹਿਗਿਝੀਹੈ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਤਦੋਂ ਬੋਲ ਪਏ, ਮਾਤਾ! ਇਹ ਗਵਾਲਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖਿਝਾਉਣਾ ਗਿੱਝ ਗਈ ਹੈ
ਮਾਤਕਹਾਦਧਿਦੋਸੁਲਗਾਵਤਮਾਰਬਿਨਾਇਹਨਾਹਿਸਿਝੀਹੈ॥੧੨੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਦਹੀ ਦਾ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਕੀ ਦੋਸ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ? ਮਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੬॥
Krishna said on coming, “These milkmaids annoy me very much, they are blaming me only for curd, they will not get right without beating.”126.
ਮਾਤਕਹਿਯੋਅਪਨੇਸੁਤਕੋਕਹੁਕਿਉਕਰਿਤੋਹਿਖਿਝਾਵਤਗੋਪੀ॥
ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਦਸ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਗੋਪੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਖਿਝਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ?
ਮਾਤਸੌਬਾਤਕਹੀਸੁਤਯੌਕਰਿਸੋਗਹਿਭਾਗਤਹੈਮੁਹਿਟੋਪੀ॥
ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ (ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਮੇਰੀ ਟੋਪੀ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The mother asked the son, “Alright son! Tell me, hoe do these gopis annoy you?” Then the son said to the mother, “They all run away with my cap,
ਡਾਰਕੈਨਾਸਬਿਖੈਅੰਗੁਰੀਸਿਰਿਮਾਰਤਹੈਮੁਝਕੋਵਹਥੋਪੀ॥
ਫਿਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਾਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਂਗਲੀ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਧੱਫਾ ਮਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਕਘਸਾਇਹਸਾਇਉਨੈਫਿਰਿਲੇਤਤਬੈਵਹਦੇਤਹੈਟੋਪੀ॥੧੨੭॥
(ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਨਕ ਨਾਲ ਲਕੀਰਾਂ ਕਢਵਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਬਾਲਕਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਹਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਟੋਪੀ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੭॥
“They close my nose, strike my head and then return my cap after getting my nose rubbed and after making mockery of me.”127.
ਜਸੁਧਾਬਾਚਗੋਪਿਨਸੋ॥
ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੇ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਮਾਤਾ (ਜਸੋਧਾ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ (ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ) ਕਿਉਂ ਨੀ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖਿਝਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹੋ?
ਬੋਲਤਹੋਅਪਨੇਮੁਖਤੇਹਮਰੇਧਨਹੈਦਧਿਦਾਮਸੁਗਉਰੀ॥
(ਉਲਟਾ) ਆ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਬੋਲਦੀਆਂ ਹੋ (ਉਲਾਂਭਾ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹੋ)। ਮੇਰੇ (ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਧ) ਦਹੀ, ਧਨ, ਧਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਊਆਂ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਹੈ।
The mother Yashoda said angrily to those gopis, “Why do you annoy my child? You are bragging with your mouth that the curd, cow and wealth is only in your house and none other has got them
ਮੂੜਅਹੀਰਨਜਾਨਤਹੈਬਢਿਬੋਲਤਹੋਸੁਰਹੋਤੁਮਠਉਰੀ॥
ਮੂਰਖ ਗਵਾਲਣੋ! (ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦੀਆਂ ਹੋ (ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਹੈ)। ਬਹੁਤ ਬੋਲਦੀਆਂ ਹੋ, (ਆਪਣੇ) ਠਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਟਿਕੀਆਂ ਰਹੋ।
“O foolish milkmaids! you continue to speak without thinking, stay here and I shall set you right
ਕਾਨਹਿਸਾਧਬਿਨਾਅਪਰਾਧਹਿਬੋਲਹਿਾਂਗੀਜੁਭਈਕਛੁਬਉਰੀ॥੧੨੮॥
ਮੇਰਾ (ਕਾਨ੍ਹ) ਤਾਂ ਸਾਧ (ਸੁਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) ਬਿਨਾ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਦੇ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਕਹੇਗੀ (ਉਹ) ਬਾਵਲੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ॥੧੨੮॥
Krishna is very simple, if you will say anything to him without any fault, you will be considered mad.”128.

ਬਿਨਤੀਕੈਜਸੁਦਾਤਬੈਦੋਊਦਏਮਿਲਾਇ॥
ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾ ਲਿਆ
Then Yashoda instructed both Krishna and gopis and caused peace for both the parties
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਬਿਗਾਰੈਸੇਰਦਧਿਲੇਹੁਮਨਕੁਤੁਮਆਇ॥੧੨੯॥
ਅਤੇ (ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਗੋਂ) ਕਾਨ੍ਹ (ਜੇ ਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ) ਸੇਰ ਦੁੱਧ ਦਹੀ ਵਿਗਾੜੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ (ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ) ਮਣ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਾ ॥੧੨੯॥
She said to gopis, “If Krishna soils one seer of your milk, you come and take a maund from me.”129.
ਗੋਪੀਬਾਚਜਸੋਧਾਸੋ॥
ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਤਦ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇੰਜ ਕਿਹਾ, "ਤੇਰਾ ਮੋਹਨ ਜੀਵੇ,
ਯਾਹਿਦੇਹਿਹਮਖਾਨਦਧਿਸਭਮਨਿਕਰੈਨਕ੍ਰੋਹਿ॥੧੩੦॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਹੀ ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗੀਆਂ" ॥੧੩੦॥
Then the gopis said, “O mother Yashoda! your dear son may live for ages, we ourselves shall give him a mine of milk and shall never have an ill-thought in our mind.”130.

ਗੋਪੀਗਈਅਪੁਨੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਮੈਤਬਤੇਹਰਿਜੀਇਕਖੇਲਮਚਾਈ॥
(ਉਲਾਂਭਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਈ) ਗੋਪੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਕੌਤਕ ਰਚਿਆ।
When the gopis went to their own homes, then Krishna exhibited a new show
ਸੰਗਿਲਯੋਅਪੁਨੇਮੁਸਲੀਧਰਦੇਖਤਤਾਮਿਟੀਆਇਨਖਾਈ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਲਭਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਖਾ ਲਈ।
He took Balram with him and began to play, during the play Balram noticed that Krishna is eating clay
ਭੋਜਨਖਾਨਹਿਕੋਤਜਿਖੇਲੈਸੁਗੁਵਾਰਚਲੇਘਰਕੋਸਭਧਾਈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਖੇਲ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਗਵਾਲ ਬਾਲਕ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਜ ਤੁਰੇ,
He took Balram with him and began to play, during the play Balram noticed that Krishna is eating clay
ਜਾਇਹਲੀਸੁਕਹਿਓਜਸੁਧਾਪਹਿਬਾਤਵਹੈਤਿਨਖੋਲਿਸੁਨਾਈ॥੧੩੧॥
(ਤਦੋਂ) ਬਲਭਦਰ ਨੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੂੰ (ਮਿੱਟੀ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਗੱਲ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧੩੧॥
When leaving the play all the children of milkmen came to their homes in order to have meal, then Balram silently told mother Yashoda about Krishna eating clay.131.
ਮਾਤਗਹਿਯੋਰਿਸਕੈਸੁਤਕੋਤਬਲੈਛਿਟੀਆਤਨਤਾਹਿਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਛਮਕ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਜੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
The mother angrily caught hold of Krishna and taking the stick, began to beat him
ਤਉਮਨਮਧਿਡਰਿਯੋਹਰਿਜੀਜਸੁਧਾਜਸੁਧਾਕਰਿਕੈਜੁਪੁਕਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਕੂਕਣ ਲਗਿਆ,
Then Krishna got afraid in his mind and cried, “Yashoda mother! Yashoda mother!”
ਦੇਖਹੁਆਇਸਬੈਮੁਹਿਕੋਮੁਖਮਾਤਕਹਿਯੋਤਬਤਾਤਪਸਾਰਿਯੋ॥
'ਸਾਰੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ। ' ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੇ ਤਦ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The mother said, “All of you may come and see in his mouth
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਤਿਨਆਨਨਮੈਸਭਹੀਧਰਮੂਰਤਿਬਿਸਵਦਿਖਾਰਿਯੋ॥੧੩੨॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਤੀਮਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੩੨॥
” When the mother asked him to show his mouth, Krishna opened his mouth the poet says that Krishna at the same time showed the whole universe to them in his mouth.132.
ਸਿੰਧੁਧਰਾਧਰਅਉਧਰਨੀਸਭਥਾਬਲਿਕੋਪੁਰਿਅਉਪੁਰਿਨਾਗਨਿ॥
ਸਮੁੰਦਰ, ਪਰਬਤ, ਧਰਤੀ, ਪਾਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਗਲੋਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਂਵਾਂ (ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ)
He showed the ocean, the earth, the nether-world and the region of Nagas
ਅਉਰਸਭੈਨਿਰਖੇਤਿਹਮੈਪੁਰਬੇਦਪੜੈਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਗਨਿਤਾਗਨਿ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਿਆਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ।
The reciters of Vedas were seen warming themselves with Brahm-fire
ਰਿਧਿਅਉਸਿਧਿਅਉਆਪਨੇਦੇਖਕੈਜਾਨਿਅਭੇਵਲਗੀਪਗਲਾਗਨ॥
ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ (ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਆ ਲਗੀ।
Seeing the powers, wealth and herself, the mother Yashoda realizing that Krishna was beyond all mysteries, began to touch his feet
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਤਿਨਚਛਨਸੋਸਭਦੇਖਲਯੋਜੁਬਡੀਬਡਿਭਾਗਨਿ॥੧੩੩॥
ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ (ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੇ) ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ। (ਸਚਮੁਚ) ਉਹ ਵਡਿਆਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੩॥
The poet says that those who saw this spectacle with their own eyes, they are very fortunate.133.

ਜੇਰਜਸੇਤਜਉਤਭੁਜਾਦੇਖੇਤਿਨਤਿਹਜਾਇ॥
ਜੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮੇ, ਮੁੜਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਜਸੋਧਾ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਥਾਂ (ਮੂੰਹ) ਵਿਚ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ।
