ਅਪੁਨਾਜਾਨਿਮੁਝੈਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਰੀਐ॥
ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
ਚੁਨਿਚੁਨਿਸਤ੍ਰਹਮਾਰੇਮਰੀਐ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਾਰੋ।
Sustain me, considering me as Thy own and destroy my enemies, picking them up
ਦੇਗਤੇਗਜਗਮੈਦੋਊਚਲੈ॥
ਦੇਗ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਗ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਚਲਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ।
ਰਾਖੁਆਪਿਮੁਹਿਅਉਰਨਦਲੈ॥੪੩੬॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਆਪ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ, (ਤਾਂ ਜੋ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਲ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ ॥੪੩੬॥
O Lord with Thy Grace, let the free kitchen and Sword (for the protection of the lowly) ever flourish through me and none should be able to kill me except You.436.
ਤੁਮਮਮਕਰਹੁਸਦਾਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਾ॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
ਤੁਮਸਾਹਿਬਮੈਦਾਸਤਿਹਾਰਾ॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ।
Sustain me ever, O Lord! Thou art my Master and I am Thy slave
ਜਾਨਿਆਪਨਾਮੁਝੈਨਿਵਾਜ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਨਿਵਾਜੋ
ਆਪਿਕਰੋਹਮਰੇਸਭਕਾਜ॥੪੩੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰੋ ॥੪੩੭॥
Be Gracious towards me, considering me as Thy own and complete all my works.437.
ਤੁਮਹੋਸਭਰਾਜਨਕੇਰਾਜਾ॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋ।
O Lord! Thou art eh king of all kings and Gracious towards the poor
ਆਪੇਆਪੁਗਰੀਬਨਿਵਾਜਾ॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਡਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ।
Be Benevolent towards me,
ਦਾਸਜਾਨਕਰਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕਰਹੁਮੁਹਿ॥
(ਆਪਣਾ) ਦਾਸ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੋ।
Considering me as Thy own,
ਹਾਰਿਪਰਾਮੈਆਨਿਦਵਾਰਿਤੁਹਿ॥੪੩੮॥
ਮੈਂ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੪੩੮॥
Because, I have surrendered and fallen at Thy Gate.438.
ਅਪੁਨਾਜਾਨਿਕਰੋਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਾ॥
ਆਪਣਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋ।
Sustain me, considering me as Thy own
ਤੁਮਸਾਹਿਬੁਮੈਕਿੰਕਰਥਾਰਾ॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ।
Thou art my Lord and I am Thy slave
ਦਾਸਜਾਨਿਕੈਹਾਥਿਉਬਾਰੋ॥
(ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ) ਦਾਸ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੋ।
Considering me as Thy slave,
ਹਮਰੇਸਭਬੈਰੀਅਨਸੰਘਾਰੋ॥੪੩੯॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕਰੋ ॥੪੩੯॥
Save me with Thy own hands and destroy all my enemies.439.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮਿਧਰੋਭਗਵਤਕੋਧ੍ਯਾਨਾ॥
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਭਗਵਤੀ (ਦੇਵੀ) ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
At the very outset, I meditate on Bhagavata (Lord-God)
ਬਹੁਰਿਕਰੋਕਬਿਤਾਬਿਧਿਨਾਨਾ॥
ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Then endeavour to compose various types of poesy.
ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਜਥਾਮਤਿਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਉਚਾਰੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਅਨੁਰੂਪ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਦਾ ਉੱਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I speak out the memories of Krishna according to my
ਚੂਕਹੋਇਕਬਿਲੇਹੁਸੁਧਾਰੋ॥੪੪੦॥
ਹੇ ਕਵੀਓ! (ਕਿਤੇ) ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲੈਣਾ ॥੪੪੦॥
Intellect and if there remins any shortcoming in it, then the poets may improve it.440.

ਜਬਆਈਹੈਕਾਤਿਕਕੀਰੁਤਿਸੀਤਲਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਤਬੈਅਤਿਹੀਰਸੀਆ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਤਕ (ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ) ਦੀ ਠੰਡੀ ਰੁਤ ਆਈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਰਸੀਏ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਨੇ, ਜੋ ਮਹਾ ਜਸ ਵਾਲਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਹੈ,
When the winter of the month of Kartik arrived,
ਸੰਗਿਗੋਪਿਨਖੇਲਬਿਚਾਰਕਰਿਓਜੁਹੁਤੋਭਗਵਾਨਮਹਾਜਸੀਆ॥
ਗਵਾਲ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
Then the aesthete Krishna thought about his amorous sport with the gopis
ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਨਲੋਗਨਕੇਜਿਹਕੇਪਗਿਲਾਗਤਪਾਪਸਭੈਨਸੀਆ॥
ਅਪਵਿਤਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
The sins of the impious people are destroyed by the touch of the feet of Krishna
ਤਿਹਕੋਸੁਨਿਤ੍ਰੀਯਨਕੇਸੰਗਿਖੇਲਨਿਵਾਰਹੁਕਾਮਇਹੈਬਸੀਆ॥੪੪੧॥
ਸੁਣੋ, ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਇਹ ਵਸ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਕਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੪੧॥
Hearing about the thought of Krishna regarding his amorous sport with the women, all the gopis gathered around him from all the four sides.441.
ਆਨਨਜਾਹਿਨਿਸਾਪਤਿਸੋਦ੍ਰਿਗਕੋਮਲਹੈਕਮਲਾਦਲਕੈਸੇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਕਮਲ ਫੁਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਖੜੀਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨੈਣ ਹਨ।
Their faces are like moon, their delicate eyes like lotus, their eyebrows like bows and their eyelashes like arrows
ਹੈਭਰੁਟੇਧਨੁਸੇਬਰਨੀਸਰਦੂਰਕਰੈਤਨਕੇਦੁਖਰੈਸੇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਵੱਟੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਵਰਗੇ, ਪਲਕਾਂ ਤੀਰਾਂ (ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ) ਅਤੇ ਜੋ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਤਨ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Seeing such beautiful women, all the sufferings of the body are effeced
ਕਾਮਕੀਸਾਨਕੇਸਾਥਘਸੇਦੁਖਸਾਧਨਕਟਬੇਕਹੁਤੈਸੇ॥
ਕਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੀਰ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਾਣ ਵਾਂਗ) ਸਾਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ (ਰੂਪ ਜੰਗਾਲ) ਨੂੰ ਕਟ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The bodies of these wanton ladies are like the weapons rubbed and sharpened on the whet stone of lust for the removal of the sufferings of saints
ਕਉਲਕੇਪਤ੍ਰਕਿਧੋਸਸਿਸਾਥਲਗੇਕਬਿਸੁੰਦਰਸ੍ਯਾਮਅਰੈਸੇ॥੪੪੨॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ (ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨੈਣ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਮਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਖੜੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਅੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੪੪੨॥
They all appear like the lotus-leaves connected with the moon.442.
ਬਧਿਕਹੈਟਟੀਆਬਰੁਨੀਧਰਕੋਰਨਕੀਦੁਤਿਸਾਇਕਸਾਧੇ॥
(ਕਾਨ੍ਹ) ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਲਕਾਂ ਓਹਲਾ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੋਰਚਾ) ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਰਾਂ (ਕਨੱਖੀਆਂ) ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ (ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਤੀਰ ਸਾਧੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ।
ਠਾਢੇਹੈਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਕਿਧੋਬਨਮੈਤਨਪੈਸਿਰਪੈਅੰਬੁਵਾਰੰਗਬਾਧੇ॥
ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਤਨ ਉਤੇ ਕੇਸਰੀ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
With the girdle tied around his waist and having the eyelashes straightened like arrows, with a yellow cloth tied over the head, Krishna is standing in the forest
ਚਾਲਚਲੈਹਰੂਏਹਰੂਏਮਨੋਸੀਖਦਈਇਹਬਾਧਕਪਾਧੇ॥
ਹੌਲੀ ਹੌਲੀ ਚਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇੰਜ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਰੂਪ ਪਾਂਧੇ ਨੇ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
He is moving slowly as if he had been instructed by someone to walk slowly
ਅਉਸਭਹੀਠਟਬਧਕਸੇਮਨਮੋਹਨਜਾਲਪੀਤੰਬਰਕਾਧੇ॥੪੪੩॥
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਠਾਠ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਪੀਲਾ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਮੋਢੇ ਉਤੇ (ਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਲ ਧਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੪੪੩॥
Having the yellow garment on his shoulder and having tied the waist tightly, he looks extremely impressive.443.
ਸੋਉਠਿਠਾਢਿਕਿਧੋਬਨਮੈਜੁਗਤੀਸਰਮੈਪਤਿਜੋਊਸੀਯਾ॥
ਉਹ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤ੍ਰੇਤਾ ਯੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੀਤਾ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਸਨ।
ਜਮੁਨਾਮਹਿਖੇਲਕੇਕਾਰਨਕੌਘਸਿਚੰਦਨਭਾਲਮੈਟੀਕੋਦੀਯਾ॥
ਜਮਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਖੇਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਚੰਦਨ ਨੂੰ ਘਸ ਕੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
He, who was Ram, the husband of Sita, in Treta age, he is now standing there in the forest and in order to exhibit his play in Yamuna, he has applied the frontal mark of sandal on his forehead
ਭਿਲਰਾਡਰਿਨੈਨਕੇਸੈਨਨਕੋਸਭਗੋਪਿਨਕੋਮਨਚੋਰਿਲੀਯਾ॥
ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਭੁਲਾਵਾ (ਚੋਗਾ) ਪਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਗਵਾਲ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਚੁਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Seeing the signs of his eyes, the Bhils are getting terrified, the hearts of all the gopis are allured by Krishna
ਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਭਗਵਾਨਕਿਧੋਰਸਕਾਰਨਕੋਠਗਬੇਸਕੀਆ॥੪੪੪॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਰਸ (ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ) ਲਈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਭੇਸ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੪੪੪॥
The poet Shyam says that in order to give pleasure to all, the Lord (Krishna) has assumed the garb of a Thug.444.
ਦ੍ਰਿਗਜਾਹਿਮ੍ਰਿਗੀਪਤਿਕੀਸਮਹੈਮੁਖਜਾਹਿਨਿਸਾਪਤਿਸੀਛਬਿਪਾਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਹਿਰਨ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਖ ਨੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵਰਗੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ;
ਜਾਹਿਕੁਰੰਗਨਕੇਰਿਪੁਸੀਕਟਿਕੰਚਨਸੀਤਨਨੈਛਬਿਛਾਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਲਕ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗਾ (ਪਤਲਾ) ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਚਮਕ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ;
The beauty of the limbs of those wanton ladies, whose eyes are like the doe, the beauty of the face like the moon, the waist like the lion
ਪਾਟਬਨੇਕਦਲੀਦਲਦ੍ਵੈਜੰਘਾਪਰਤੀਰਨਸੀਦੁਤਿਗਾਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਟ ਕਦਲੀ ਦੇ ਤਣੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਬਣੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਘਾਂ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ-ਸਿਧੀਆਂ ਹਨ);
ਅੰਗਪ੍ਰਤੰਗਸੁਸੁੰਦਰਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਛੂਉਪਮਾਕਹੀਐਨਹੀਜਾਈ॥੪੪੫॥
ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਅੰਗ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਨ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ) ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੪੪੫॥
Their legs are like the trunk of the Kadli (Banana) tree and their beauty pierces like an arrow the elegance of the body like the gold, can’t be described.445.
ਮੁਖਜਾਹਿਨਿਸਾਪਤਿਕੀਸਮਹੈਬਨਮੈਤਿਨਗੀਤਰਿਝਿਯੋਅਰੁਗਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ ਹਨ।
ਤਾਸੁਰਕੋਧੁਨਿਸ੍ਰਉਨਨਮੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਹੂੰਕੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਸਭਹੀਸੁਨਿਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੁਰ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਨੂੰ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਬ੍ਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਿਆ
The moon-faced Krishna, being pleased, began to sing songs in the forest and that tune was heard by all the women of Braja with their ears
ਧਾਇਚਲੀਹਰਿਕੇਮਿਲਬੇਕਹੁਤਉਸਭਕੇਮਨਮੈਜਬਭਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਦ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਭਜ ਪਈਆਂ।
They are all running to meet Krishna
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਮਨੋਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀਜੁਵਤੀਛਲਬੇਕਹੁਘੰਟਕਹੇਰਿਬਨਾਯੋ॥੪੪੬॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਨੇ ਮੁਟਿਆਰਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਹਿਰਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਲਣ ਲਈ 'ਘੰਡਾਹੇੜਾ' ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੪੪੬॥
It appears that Krishna himself was like the horn and the beautiful women allured by the horn were like deer.446.
ਮੁਰਲੀਮੁਖਕਾਨਰਕੇਤਰੂਏਤਰੁਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਬਿਧਿਖੂਬਛਕੀ॥
