ਮੁਨਿਤਉਮਿਲਿਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੋਗ੍ਰਿਹਗਯੋਤਬਕੰਸਿਬਲੀਇਕਦੈਤਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਜਦ ਨਾਰਦ) ਮੁਨੀ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਦ ਕੰਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ।
ਮਾਰਹੁਜਾਇਕਹਿਓਜਸੁਧਾਪੁਤਪੈਕਹਿਕੈਇਹਭਾਤਿਪਠਾਯੋ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਕਿਹਾ, 'ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਓ' (ਕੇਸੀ ਨੂੰ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When the sage (Narada) went away after meeting Kansa, then Kansa called a mighty demon named Keshi and said to him, “Go and kill Krishna, the son of Yashoda
ਪਾਛੈਤੇਪੈਭਗਨੀਭਗਨੀਪਤਿਡਾਰਿਜੰਜੀਰਨਧਾਮਿਰਖਾਯੋ॥
ਪਿਛੋਂ ਭੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਹਿਨੋਈ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੰਜੀਰਾਂ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
On the side, he got his sister and her husband Vasudev enchained in his house
ਸੰਗਿਚੰਡੂਰਕਹਿਓਇਹਭੇਦਤਬੈਕੁਬਿਲਯਾਗਿਰਿਬੋਲਿਪਠਾਯੋ॥੭੭੩॥
ਇਹ ਭੇਦ ਚੰਡੂਰ (ਪਹਿਲਾਵਨ) ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਵਲੀਆ ਗਿਰ (ਕੁਵਲੀਆਪੀੜ) ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬੁਲਵਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੭੭੩॥
Kansa told some secret things to Chandur and also sent for kuvalyapeer (the elephant).773.

ਭਾਖਕਹੀਸੰਗਭ੍ਰਿਤਨਸੋਇਕਖੇਲਨਕੋਰੰਗਭੂਮਿਬਨਈਯੈ॥
(ਰਾਜਾ ਕੰਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਖੇਡਣ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਰੰਗ-ਭੂਮੀ ਬਣਾਓ।
Kansa told his guards to construct a stage
ਸੰਗਿਚੰਡੂਰਕਹਿਯੋਮੁਸਟਕੈਦਰਵਾਜੇਬਿਖੈਗਜਕੋਥਿਰਕਈਯੈ॥
'ਚੰਡੂਰ' ਅਤੇ 'ਮੁਸਟ' (ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ (ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ (ਰੰਗ-ਭੂਮੀ) ਦੇ ਦੁਆਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ (ਕੁਵਲੀਆਪੀੜ) ਨੂੰ ਖੜਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ।
He asked Chandur to make Kuvalyapeer (elephant) stand at the gate of the stage
ਬੋਲਿਅਕ੍ਰੂਰਕਹੀਹਮਰੋਰਥਲੈਕਰਿਨੰਦਪੁਰੀਮਹਿਜਈਯੈ॥
ਅਕਰੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਥ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗੋਕਲ ('ਨੰਦ ਪੁਰੀ') ਵਿਚ ਜਾਓ।
ਜਗਅਬੈਹਮਰੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਹੈਇਹਬਾਤਨਕੋਕਰਕੈਹਰਿਲਿਅਈਯੈ॥੭੭੪॥
(ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਕਿ) ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਯੱਗ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਲੈ ਆਓ ॥੭੭੪॥
He gold Akrur to go to Nandpuri (the city of Nand) on his chariot and with the pretext of the performance of a Yajna in our home, Krishna may be brought here, 774.
ਜਾਹਿਕਹਿਯੋਅਕ੍ਰੂਰਹਿਕੋਬ੍ਰਿਜਕੇਪੁਰਿਮੈਅਤਿਕੋਪਹਿਸਿਉਤਾ॥
ਅਕਰੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਹਬ (ਅਥਵਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ) ਨਾਲ (ਕੰਸ ਨੇ) ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਗੋਕਲ ਜਾ
Kansa said to Akrur in an angry tone that he may go to Braja and
ਜਗਅਬੈਹਮਰੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਹੈਰਿਝਵਾਇਕੈਲ੍ਯਾਵਹੁਵਾਕਹਿਇਉਤਾ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿ ਕਿ) ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਯੱਗ ਹੈ। (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਇਥੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ।
Announce there that a Yajna is being performed in our house, in this way, Krishna may be entice to come here
ਤਾਛਬਿਕੋਜਸੁਉਚਮਹਾਉਪਜਿਯੋਕਬਿਕੇਮਨਮੈਬਿਉਤਾ॥
ਉਸ ਛਬੀ ਦੇ ਯਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ (ਉਪਮਾ) ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਕਵੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਉਬਨਬੀਚਹਰੇਮ੍ਰਿਤਕੇਸੁਪਠਿਯੋਮ੍ਰਿਗਵਾਕਹਿਕੇਹਰਿਨਿਉਤਾ॥੭੭੫॥
ਜਿਉਂ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ, ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਹਿਰਨ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਉਤਾ ਕਹਿ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੭੭੫॥
According to the poet this spectacle appears to suggest that a deer is being sent in advance to tempt the lion before killing him.775.

ਰਾਜਾ (ਕੰਸ) ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਦਾਓ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਕਰੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Kansa sent Akrur for waiting in ambush for the killing of Krishna

ਹੁਣ ਕੇਸੀ ਦੇ ਬਧ ਦੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਥਾ ਹੋਈ, ਉਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੭੭੬॥
Now with this I relate the story of the killing of Keshi.776.

ਪ੍ਰਾਤਚਲਿਯੋਤਹਕੋਉਠਿਸੋਰਿਪੁਹ੍ਵੈਹਯਦੀਰਘਪੈਤਹਆਯੋ॥
ਸਵੇਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਉਧਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਘੋੜਾ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਉਥੇ ਆਇਆ।
Keshi started early in the morning and assuming the form of a big horse, he reached Braja
ਦੇਖਤਜਾਹਿਦਿਨੇਸਡਰਿਓਮਘਵਾਜਿਹਪੇਖਤਹੀਡਰਪਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਡਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਕ ਕੇ ਇੰਦਰ ਵੀ ਭੈ ਭੀਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
Seeing him the sun and Indra were filled with fear
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਡਰੇਤਿਹਦੇਖਤਹੀਹਰਿਪਾਇਨਊਪਰਸੀਸਝੁਕਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਵਾਲ ਡਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਰਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The frightened gopas seeing him also bowed their heads at the feet of Krishna
ਧੀਰਭਯੋਜਦੁਰਾਇਤਬੈਤਿਹਸੋਕੁਪਕੈਰਨਦੁੰਦਮਚਾਯੋ॥੭੭੭॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਦੁਅੰਦ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਧੀਰਜ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੭੭੭॥
Seeing all this, Krishna became resolute with composure and on this side Keshi started a dreadful fighting.777.
ਕੋਪਭਯੋਰਿਪੁਕੇਮਨਮੈਤਬਪਾਉਕੀਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਕੋਚੋਟਚਲਾਈ॥
(ਜਦ) ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਟ ਮਾਰੀ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਲਤ ਮਾਰੀ)।
ਦੀਨਨਲਾਗਨਸ੍ਯਾਮਤਨੈਸੁਭਲੀਬਿਧਿਸੋਜਦੁਰਾਇਬਚਾਈ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਟ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਵਜਣ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹ) ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ।
The enemy Keshi, in rage, attacked Krishna with his feet, but Krishna did not let him touch his body and saved himself nicely
ਫੇਰਿਗਹਿਓਸੋਊਪਾਇਨਤੇਕਰਮੋਨਰਹਿਯੋਸੁਦਯੋਹੈਬਗਾਈ॥
ਫਿਰ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਨਾ (ਫੜਿਆ) ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਸਗੋਂ) ਦੂਰ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Then Krishna caught hold of the feet of Keshi and raising him threw him at a distance,
ਜਿਉਲਰਕਾਬਟਫੈਕਤਹੈਤਿਮਚਾਰਸੈਪੈਗਪਰਿਓਸੋਊਜਾਈ॥੭੭੮॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲੜਕਾ ਵੱਟਾ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ) ਉਹ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਥ ਉਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਡਿਗਿਆ ॥੭੭੮॥
Just as the boys throw the wooden stick, Kehsi fell down at a distance of four hundred steps.778.
ਫੇਰਿਸੰਭਾਰਿਤਬੈਬਲਵਾਰਿਪੁਤੁੰਡਪਸਾਰਿਹਰਿਊਪਰਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਵੈਰੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਅਡ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਪਿਆ।
Again stabilising himself and spreading his mouth Keshi fell upon Krishna
ਲੋਚਨਕਾਢਿਬਡੇਡਰਵਾਨਕਿਧੌਜਿਨਤੇਨਭਲੋਕਡਰਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਕਢ ਲਈਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ('ਨਭ ਲੋਕ') ਵੀ ਡਰ ਗਏ।
Being used to frighten the heavenly beings, he opened his eyes wide and began to terrorise
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਦਯੋਤਿਹਕੇਮੁਖਮੈਕਰਤਾਛਬਿਕੋਮਨਮੈਜਸਭਾਯੋ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ; ਉਸ ਛਬੀ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼ (ਕਵੀ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
Krishna put his hand in his mouth and it seemed that Krishna, assuming the form of death,
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਕੋਹੈਕਰਕਾਲਮਨੋਤਨਕੇਸੀਤੇਪ੍ਰਾਨਨਿਕਾਸਨਆਯੋ॥੭੭੯॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਕਾਲ ਰੂਪ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਕੇਸੀ ਦੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਕਢਣ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੭੭੯॥
Was electing the life-force from the body of Keshi.779.
ਤਿਨਿਬਾਹਕਟੀਹਰਿਦਾਤਨਸੋਤਿਹਕੇਸਭਦਾਤਤਬੈਝਰਗੇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਜਦ) ਦੰਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਕਟੀ, ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੰਦ ਝੜ ਗਏ।
He (Keshi) tried to penetrate his teeth in the arm of Krishna, but his teeth fell off
ਜੋਊਆਇਮਨੋਰਥਕੈਮਨਮੈਸਮਓਰਨਕੀਸੋਊਹੈਗਰਗੇ॥
ਜੋ ਦੰਦ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਬਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਟਣ ਦੇ) ਮਨੋਰਥ ਨਾਲ ਆਏ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਗੜਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਗਲ ਗਏ।
The object for which he had come, was defeated
ਤਬਹੀਸੋਊਜੂਝਿਪਰੋਛਿਤਪੈਨਸੋਊਫਿਰਕੈਅਪੁਨੇਘਰਗੇ॥
ਤਦ ਉਹ (ਕੇਸੀ) ਲੜ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ।
He could not go back to his house and while fighting fell down on the earth
ਅਬਕਾਨਰਕੇਕਰਲਾਗਤਹੀਮਰਿਗਯੋਵਹਪਾਪਸਭੈਹਰਗੇ॥੭੮੦॥
ਹੁਣ (ਚੂੰਕਿ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਲਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੭੮੦॥
He died at the hands of Krishna and all his sins were destroyed.780.
ਰਾਵਨਜਾਬਿਧਿਰਾਮਮਰਿਓਬਿਧਿਜੋਕਰਕੈਨਰਕਾਸੁਰਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਧੀ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਨਰਕਾਸੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ।
The method by which Ram killed Ravana and the method with which narakasura died,
ਜਿਉਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦਕੇਰਛਨਕੋਹਰਿਨਾਕਸਮਾਰਿਡਰਿਓਨਉਬਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਿਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਲਈ (ਨਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ) ਹਰਨਾਕਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
The method with which Hiranyakashipu was killed by the Lord for the protection of Prahlad
ਜਿਉਮਧੁਕੈਟਮਰੇਕਰਿਚਕ੍ਰਲੈਪਾਵਕਲੀਲਲਈਡਰੁਟਾਰਯੋ॥
ਜਿਉਂ ਮਧੁ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਟਭ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਕਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਲ ਕੇ (ਬ੍ਰਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ) ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
The manner in which Madhu and Kaitabh were killed and the Lord drank away Davanal,
ਤਿਉਹਰਿਸੰਤਨਰਾਖਨਕੋਕਰਿਕੈਅਪਨੋਬਲਦੈਤਪਛਾਰਿਯੋ॥੭੮੧॥
ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਲ ਜਤਾ ਕੇ (ਕੇਸੀ) ਦੈਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੭੮੧॥
In the same manner for the protection of the saints, Krishna with his strength, overthrew keshi.781.
ਮਾਰਿਬਡੇਰਿਪੁਕੋਹਰਿਜੂਸੰਗਿਗਊਅਨਲੈਸੁਗਏਬਨਮੈ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਗਊਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
After killing the great enemy, Krishna went to the forest with his cows
ਮਨਸੋਕਸਭੈਹਰਿਕੈਸਬਹੀਅਤਿਕੈਫੁਨਿਆਨੰਦਪੈਤਨਮੈ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਗ਼ਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਆਨੰਦਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

ਮਾਨੋ ਹਿਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਡਾਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੇ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੭੮੨॥
