ਦੈਬਰੁਤਾਤ੍ਰੀਯਕੋਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਮੂੰਡਰਹੇਨਿਹੁਰਾਇ॥
ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਿਰ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖੜੋ ਰਹੇ।
Krishna bestowed a boon on wife of the washerman and nodding his head, he sat down
ਤਬਸੁਕਸੋਪੁਛਯੌਨ੍ਰਿਪੈਕਹੋਹਮੈਕਿਹਭਾਇ॥੮੨੩॥
ਤਦ ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਪੁਛਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਉਣ) ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਦਸੋ ॥੮੨੩॥
Then the (king) Parikshat enquired from Shuka, “O sage! Tell me why it happened that Krishna sat down, nodding his head?”823.

ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਚਤੁਰਭੁਜਕੋਬਰੁਵਾਹਿਦਯੋਬਰੁਪਾਇਸੁਖੀਰਹੁਤਾਹਿਕਹੇ॥
(ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਉਸ (ਧੋਬਣ) ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ (ਤੂੰ) ਚਤੁਰਭੁਜ ਨੂੰ ਵਰ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿ।
The four-armed Krishna blessed her with the boon of living in happiness
ਹਰਿਬਾਕਕੇਹੋਵਤਪੈਤਿਨਹੂੰਅਮਰਾਪੁਰਕੇਫਲਹੈਸੁਲਹੇ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਮਰਾਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਫਲ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ।
With the words of the Lord, the fruit of all the three worlds are obtained,
ਬਹੁਦੈਕਰਿਲਜਿਤਹੋਤਬਡੇਇਮਲੋਕਏਨੀਤਿਬਿਖੈਹੈਕਹੇ॥
ਵੱਡੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਲਜਿਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
But according to tradition, the great man after bestowing something, feels shy on thinking that he had bestowed nothing
ਹਰਿਜਾਨਿਕਿਮੈਇਹਥੋਰੋਦਯੋਤਿਹਤੇਮੁੰਡੀਆਨਿਹੁਰਾਇਰਹੇ॥੮੨੪॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਵਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੮੨੪॥
Krishna also knowing this that he had bestowed less, repented by nodding his head.824. End of the description of ‘the killing of the washerman and granting of boon to his wife’ in Bachittar Natak.

ਬਧਕੈਧੋਬੀਕੌਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਕਰਿਤਾਤ੍ਰੀਯਕੋਕਾਮ॥
ਧੋਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ) ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾ ਕੇ
ਰਥਧਵਾਇਤਬਹੀਚਲੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੇਸਾਮੁਹਿਧਾਮ॥੮੨੫॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ (ਫਿਰ) ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਰਾਜੇ (ਕੰਸ) ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਵਲ ਨੂੰ ਚਲ ਪਏ ॥੮੨੫॥
After killing the washerman and bestowing boon on his wife, Krishna caused the chariot to be driven and reach in front of the palace of the king.825.

ਆਗੇਤੇਸ੍ਯਾਮਮਿਲਿਯੋਬਾਗਵਾਨਸੁਹਾਰਗਰੇਹਰਿਕੇਤਿਨਿਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਗੇ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਗਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਫੁਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The first to meet Krishna was the gardener, who garlanded him
ਪਾਇਪਰਿਯੋਹਰਿਕੇਬਹੁਬਾਰਨਭੋਜਨਧਾਮਲਿਜਾਇਜਿਵਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰਾਇਆ।
He fell at the feet of Krishna many times and taking him alongwith himself, he served meal to Krishna
ਤਾਕੋਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿਕੈਮਾਗਤਭਯੋਬਰੁਸਾਧਕੀਸੰਗਤਿਕੋਜੀਯਧਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਵਰ ਮੰਗਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ)। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਮੰਗਿਆ।
Krishna was pleased with him and told him to ask for a boon
ਜਾਨਲਈਜੀਯਕੀਘਨਸ੍ਯਾਮਤਬੈਬਰੁਵਾਉਹਭਾਤਿਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥੮੨੬॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੮੨੬॥
The gardener thought in his mind about asking for the boon of the company of a saint, Krishna read this from his mind and granted him the same boon.826.

ਬਰੁਜਬਮਾਲੀਕਉਦਯੋਰੀਝਿਮਨੈਘਨਸ੍ਯਾਮ॥
ਜਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਫਿਰਿਪੁਰਹਾਟਨਪੈਗਏਕਰਨਕੂਬਰੀਕਾਮ॥੮੨੭॥
ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਕੁਬਜਾ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਗਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਟੀਆਂ ਵਲ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ॥੮੨੭॥
Getting pleased in his mind, Krishna granted the boon to the gardener and then went towards the city for the purpose of doing good to Kubja.827.
