ਰੋਦਨਕੈਸਭਗ੍ਵਾਰਨੀਯਾਮਿਲਿਐਸੇਕਹਿਯੋਅਤਿਹੋਇਬਿਚਾਰੀ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਰੋਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਆਜਿਜ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿਬ੍ਰਿਜੈਮਥੁਰਾਮੈਗਏਤਜਿਨੇਹਅਨੇਹਕੀਬਾਤਬਿਚਾਰੀ॥
ਬ੍ਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਮੋਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਲਿਆ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਿਰਮੋਹੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ)।
All the gopis in their lamentation are saying modestly, “Abandoning the thoughts of love and separation, Krishna has gone to Mathura from Braja
ਏਕਗਿਰੈਧਰਿਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਇਕਐਸੇਸੰਭਾਰਿਕਹੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਰੀ॥
ਇਕ (ਗੋਪੀ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਨਾਰੀ ਸੰਭਲ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਰੀਸਜਨੀਸੁਨੀਯੋਬਤੀਯਾਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਰਿਸਭੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥਿਬਿਸਾਰੀ॥੮੬੫॥
ਹੇ ਸਜਨੀ! ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਨਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੮੬੫॥
Saying this someone is falling on the earth and someone, protecting herself, is saying, “O friends! listen to me, the Lord of Braja has forgotten all the women of Braja.”865,
ਆਖਨਿਆਗਹਿਠਾਢਿਲਗੈਸਖੀਦੇਤਨਹੀਕਿਹੇਤਦਿਖਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਵਿਖਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
Krishna is always standing before my eyes, therefore I do not see anything else
ਜਾਸੰਗਿਕੇਲਕਰੇਬਨਮੈਤਿਹਤੇਅਤਿਹੀਜੀਯਮੈਦੁਚਿਤਾਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ (ਅਸੀਂ) ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਕੇਲ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ 'ਦੁਚਿਤਾਈ' (ਕਿਉਂ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ)।
They had been absorbed with him in amorous play, their dilemma is increasing now on remembering him
ਹੇਤੁਤਜਿਯੋਬ੍ਰਿਜਬਾਸਨਸੋਨਸੰਦੇਸਪਠਿਯੋਜੀਯਕੈਸੁਢਿਠਾਈ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੇਜਿਆ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨੀ ਢੀਠਤਾਈ (ਕਿਉਂ) ਹੈ।
He has forsaken the love of the residents of Braja and has become hard-hearted, because he has not sent any message
ਤਾਹੀਕੀਓਰਿਨਿਹਾਰਤਹੈਪਿਖੀਯੈਨਹੀਸ੍ਯਾਮਹਹਾਮੋਰੀਮਾਈ॥੮੬੬॥
(ਅਸੀਂ) ਉਸੇ ਵਲ ਵੇਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਦਿਖਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਹਾਇ ਨੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ ॥੮੬੬॥
O my mother! we are seeing towards that Krishna, but he is not visible.866

ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਫਗਣ (ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ) ਵਿਚ (ਅਸੀਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਸੁਟਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਮਣ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ।
In the moth of Phalgun, the young damsels are roaming with Krishna in the forest, throwing dry colours on each other
ਪਿਚਕਾਰਨਲੈਕਰਿਗਾਵਤਿਗੀਤਸਭੈਮਿਲਿਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਤਉਨਸਮੈ॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਚਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
Taking the pumps in their hands, they are singing charming songs:
ਅਤਿਸੁੰਦਰਕੁੰਜਗਲੀਨਕੇਬੀਚਕਿਧੌਮਨਕੇਕਰਿਦੂਰਗਮੈ॥
ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੁੰਜ-ਗਲੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਗ਼ਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ।
ਅਰੁਤ੍ਯਾਗਿਤਮੈਸਭਧਾਮਨਕੀਇਹਸੁੰਦਰਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕੀਮਾਨਿਤਮੈ॥੮੬੭॥
ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੮੬੭॥
Removing the sorrows from their mind they are running in the alcoves and in the love of the beautiful Krishna, they have forgotten the decorum of their house.867.
ਫੂਲਿਸੀਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਫੂਲਿਰਹੀਪਟਰੰਗਨਕੇਫੁਨਿਫੂਲਲੀਏ॥
ਫੁਲ ਵਰਗੀ ਗੋਪੀ ਫੁਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਖਿੜ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਬਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਫੁਲ ਲਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
The gopis are blooming like flowers with the flowers attached to their garments
ਇਕਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੀਗਾਰਸੁਗਾਵਤਹੈਪੁਨਿਕੋਕਿਲਕਾਸਮਹੋਤਜੀਏ॥
ਇਕ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਕੋਇਲ ਵਾਂਗ (ਗਾ ਕੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
After bedecking themselves they are singing for Krishna like nightingale
ਰਿਤੁਨਾਮਹਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਯੋਸਜਨੀਤਿਹਤੇਸਭਛਾਜਸੁਸਾਜਦੀਏ॥
ਹੇ ਸਜਨੀ! ਬਸੰਤ ('ਰਿਤ') ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਸ਼ਆਮ' ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Now it is the spring season, therefore they have forsaken all the embellishment
ਪਿਖਿਜਾਚਤੁਰਾਨਨਚਉਕਿਰਹੈਜਿਹਦੇਖਤਹੋਤਹੁਲਾਸਹੀਏ॥੮੬੮॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ('ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ') ਚੌਂਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮੬੮॥
Seeing their glory even Brahma is wonder-struck.868.
ਏਕਸਮੈਰਹੈਕਿੰਸੁਕਫੂਲਿਸਖੀਤਹਪਉਨਬਹੈਸੁਖਦਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਇਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਕੇਸੂ ਫੁਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਦਖਾਇਕ ਹਵਾ ਚਲ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
Once the flowers of palas were blooming and the comfort-giving wind was blowing
ਭਉਰਗੁੰਜਾਰਤਹੈਇਤਤੇਉਤਤੇਮੁਰਲੀਨੰਦਲਾਲਬਜਾਈ॥
ਇਧਰ ਭੌਰੇ ਗੁੰਜਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਧਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਵਜਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
The black bees were humming here and there, Krishna had played on his flute
ਰੀਝਿਰਹਿਯੋਸੁਨਿਕੈਸੁਰਮੰਡਲਤਾਛਬਿਕੋਬਰਨਿਯੋਨਹੀਜਾਈ॥
(ਮੁਰਲੀ ਦੀ) ਧੁਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਦੇਵ-ਮੰਡਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
Hearing this flute the gods were getting pleased and the beauty of that spectacle is indescribable
ਤਉਨਸਮੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਥੀਰਿਤੁਅਉਸਰਯਾਹਿਭਈਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੮੬੯॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਬਸੰਤ ('ਰਿਤੁ') ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਦੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੮੬੯॥
At that time, that season was joy-giving, but now the same has become distressing.869.
ਜੇਠਸਮੈਸਖੀਤੀਰਨਦੀਹਮਖੇਲਤਚਿਤਿਹੁਲਾਸਬਢਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ, ਜੇਠ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਖੇਡਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ।
In the month of Jeth, O friend! we used to be absorbed in amorous play on the bank of the river, being pleased in our mind
ਚੰਦਨਸੋਤਨਲੀਪਸਭੈਸੁਗੁਲਾਬਹਿਸੋਧਰਨੀਛਿਰਕਾਈ॥
ਚੰਦਨ (ਦੇ ਲੇਪ) ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਲੇਪ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਬ (ਦੇ ਜਲ ਨਾਲ) ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਛਿੜਕਾਓ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
We plastered our bodies with sandal and sprinkled rose-water on the earth
ਲਾਇਸੁਗੰਧਭਲੀਕਪਰਿਯੋਪਰਤਾਕੀਪ੍ਰਭਾਬਰਨੀਨਹੀਜਾਈ॥
ਕਪੜਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
We applied fragrance to our clothes and that glory is indescribable
ਤਉਨਸਮੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਥੀਇਹਅਉਸਰਸ੍ਯਾਮਬਿਨਾਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੮੭੦॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਇਹ ਰੁਤ) ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੮੭੦॥
That occasion was highly pleasing, but now the same occasion has become troublesome without Krishna.870.
ਪਉਨਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਚਲੈਜਿਹਅਉਸਰਅਉਰਬਘੂਲਨਧੂਰਿਉਡਾਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਹਵਾ ਚਲਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਾ-ਵਰੋਲੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਉਡਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਧੂਪਲਗੈਜਿਹਮਾਸਬੁਰੀਸੁਲਗੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਸੀਤਲਜਾਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਧੁਪ ਮਾੜੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਠੰਡੀ ਥਾਂ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਲਗਦੀ ਸੀ।
The time, when the wind blew ferociously, the cranes arose and the sunshine was agonizing, even that time appeared to us as joy-giving
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕੇਸੰਗਸਭੈਹਮਖੇਲਤਸੀਤਲਪਾਟਕਕਾਬਿਛਟਾਈ॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਨਾਲ ਠੰਡੀਆਂ ਚਿਟਾਈਆਂ ਵਿਛਾ ਕੇ ਖੇਡਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ (ਅਰਥਾਂਤਰ ਠੰਡੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਛਿੱਟੇ ਪਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ)।
All of us played with Krishna splashing water on one another
ਤਉਨਸਮੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਥੀਰਿਤੁਅਉਸਰਯਾਹਿਭਈਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੮੭੧॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਇਹ) ਰੁਤ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਉਹ) ਦੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੮੭੧॥
That time was extremely comfort-giving, but now the same time has become agonising.871.
ਜੋਰਿਘਟਾਘਟਆਏਜਹਾਸਖੀਬੂੰਦਨਮੇਘਭਲੀਛਬਿਪਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਜਿਥੇ ਘਟਾਵਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਬਦਲ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਬਦਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੂੰਦਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਛਬੀ ਪਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
Look, O friend! the clouds have surrounded us and it is a beautiful spectacle created by raindrops
ਬੋਲਤਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕਦਾਦਰਅਉਘਨਮੋਰਨਪੈਘਨਘੋਰਲਗਾਈ॥
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ, ਡੱਡੂ ਅਤੇ ਬਦਲ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਘੋਰ ਕੂਕ ਮਚਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
The sound of cuckoo, peacock and frog is resounding
ਤਾਹਿਸਮੈਹਮਕਾਨਰਕੇਸੰਗਿਖੇਲਤਥੀਅਤਿਪ੍ਰੇਮਬਢਾਈ॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਨਾਲ ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਖੇਡਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ।
In such a time we were absorbed with Krishna in amorous play
ਤਉਨਸਮੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਥੀਰਿਤੁਅਉਸਰਯਾਹਿਭਈਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੮੭੨॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਇਹ) ਰੁਤ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਸੀ, (ਪਰ) ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਦੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੮੭੨॥
How much comfortable was that time and now this time is greatly distressing.872.
ਮੇਘਪਰੈਕਬਹੂੰਉਘਰੈਸਖੀਛਾਇਲਗੈਦ੍ਰੁਮਕੀਸੁਖਦਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! (ਭਾਦਰੋਂ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ) ਕਦੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਉਘੜ (ਖਰਾ ਹੋ) ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛਾਂ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਸੀ।
Sometimes the clouds burst into rain and the shade of the tree appeared comfort-giving
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕੇਸੰਗਿਫਿਰੈਸਜਨੀਰੰਗਫੂਲਨਕੇਹਮਬਸਤ੍ਰਬਨਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸਜਨੀ! (ਅਸੀਂ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਨਾਲ ਫਿਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫੁਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
We used to wander with Krishna, wearing the garments of flowers
ਖੇਲਤਕ੍ਰੀੜਕਰੈਰਸਕੀਇਹਅਉਸਰਕਉਬਰਨਿਯੋਨਹੀਜਾਈ॥
(ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ) ਖੇਡਣ ਵੇਲੇ (ਪ੍ਰੇਮ) ਰਸ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ, ਉਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ।
While roaming, we were absorbed in amorous play
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਸਨੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਥੀਰਿਤਸ੍ਯਾਮਬਿਨਾਅਤਿਭੀਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੮੭੩॥
ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਨਾਲ (ਇਹ) ਰੁਤ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਸੀ, (ਪਰ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੮੭੩॥
It is impossible to describe that occasion, remaining with Krishna, that season has become distressing.873.
ਮਾਸਅਸੂਹਮਕਾਨਰਕੇਸੰਗਿਖੇਲਤਚਿਤਿਹੁਲਾਸਬਢਾਈ॥
ਅਸੂ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਦੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ।
In the month of Ashvin, with great joy, we played with Krishna
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਤਹਾਪੁਨਿਗਾਵਤਥੋਅਤਿਸੁੰਦਰਰਾਗਨਤਾਨਬਸਾਈ॥
ਫਿਰ ਉਥੇ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਗਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਾਨਾਂ ਕਢਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
Being intoxicated Krishna used to play on (his flute) and produce tunes of charming musical modes,
ਗਾਵਤਥੀਹਮਹੂੰਸੰਗਤਾਹੀਕੇਤਾਛਬਿਕੋਬਰਨਿਯੋਨਹੀਜਾਈ॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ, ਉਸ (ਮੌਕੇ ਦੀ) ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
We sang with him and that spectacle is indescribable
ਤਾਸੰਗਮੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਥੀਰਿਤੁਸ੍ਯਾਮਬਿਨਾਅਬਭੀਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੮੭੪॥
ਉਸ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਦੇ ਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ (ਇਹ) ਰੁਤ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਸੀ, (ਪਰ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੁਣ ਦੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੮੭੪॥
We remained in his company, that season was pleasure-giving and now the same season has become distressing.874.
ਕਾਤਿਕਕੀਸਖੀਰਾਸਿਬਿਖੈਰਤਿਖੇਲਤਥੀਹਰਿਸੋਚਿਤੁਲਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਕਤਕ (ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ) ਦੀ ਰਾਸ ਵਿਚ (ਅਸੀਂ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਚਿਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਰਤਿ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ।
In the month of Kartik, we, in delight, were absorbed in amorous play with Krishna
ਸੇਤਹਿਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਕੇਪਟਛਾਜਤਸੇਤਨਦੀਤਹਧਾਰਬਹਾਈ॥
ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਫ਼ੈਦ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਫਬਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਥੇ ਨਦੀ ਦੀ ਸਵੱਛ ਧਾਰਾ ਚਲਦੀ ਸੀ।
In the current of the white river, the gopis also wore white clothes
ਭੂਖਨਸੇਤਹਿਗੋਪਨਿਕੇਅਰੁਮੋਤਿਨਹਾਰਭਲੀਛਬਿਪਾਈ॥
ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਵੀ ਸਫ਼ੈਦ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਛਬੀ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
The gopas also wore white ornaments and necklaces of pearls
ਤਉਨਸਮੈਸੁਖਦਾਇਕਥੀਰਿਤੁਅਉਸਰਯਾਹਿਭਈਦੁਖਦਾਈ॥੮੭੫॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਇਹ) ਰੁਤ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਸੀ, (ਪਰ) ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ ਦੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੮੭੫॥
They all looked fine, that time was very comfortable and now this time has become extremely agonising.875.
ਮਘ੍ਰਸਮੈਸਬਸ੍ਯਾਮਕੇਸੰਗਿਹੁਇਖੇਲਤਥੀਮਨਿਆਨੰਦਪਾਈ॥
ਮਘਰ (ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
In the month of Maghar, in great pleasure, we used to play with Krishna
ਸੀਤਲਗੈਤਬਦੂਰਕਰੈਹਮਸ੍ਯਾਮਕੇਅੰਗਸੋਅੰਗਮਿਲਾਈ॥
(ਜਦੋ) ਠੰਡ ਲਗਦੀ ਸੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ (ਸਰਦੀ ਨੂੰ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ।
When we felt cold, we removed the coolness by blending our limbs with the limbs of Krishna
