ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿਗਏਨਲਈਇਨਕੀਸੁਧਿਹੋਤਕਛੂਮਨਿਮੋਹਤੁਹਾਰੇ॥
(ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤਿਆਗ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ (ਫਿਰ) ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਈ; ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਮੋਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਤਾਂ ਇੰਜ ਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ)।
“You have not communicated at all with these residents of Braja
ਆਪਰਚੇਪੁਰਬਾਸਿਨਸੋਇਨਕੇਸਭਪ੍ਰੇਮਬਿਦਾਕਰਿਡਾਰੇ॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਆਪ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਚ ਮਿਚ ਗਏ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Does no attachment arise in your mind? You yourself had been absorbed with the inhabitants of the city and had relinquished all the love of these people
ਤਾਤੇਨਮਾਨਕਰੋਫਿਰਿਆਵਹੁਜੀਤਤਭੇਤੁਮਹੂੰਹਮਹਾਰੇ॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ (ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਮਾਣ (ਰੋਸਾ) ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਫਿਰ (ਬ੍ਰਜ ਵਿਚ) ਆ ਜਾਓ; ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਤ ਗਏ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹਾਰ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਾਂ।
“O Krishna! do not persist now
ਤਾਤੇਤਜੋਮਥੁਰਾਫਿਰਿਆਵਹੁਹੇਸਭਗਊਅਨਕੇਰਖਵਾਰੇ॥੯੫੨॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਹੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਊਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ! ਮਥੁਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ (ਬ੍ਰਜ ਵਿਚ) ਆ ਜਾਓ ॥੯੫੨॥
It is right to say that you have won and we have been defeated, O Krishna, the protector of cows! now leave Mathura and come here again.”952.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਚਿਤਾਰਕੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਮਨਮੈਸਭਗ੍ਵਾਰਨੀਯਾਦੁਖਪਾਵੈ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Remembering Krishna, the poet says that all the gopis are suffering
ਏਕਪਰੈਮੁਰਝਾਇਧਰਾਇਕਬਿਯੋਗਭਰੀਗੁਨਬਿਯੋਗਹੀਗਾਵੈ॥
ਇਕ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਵਿਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਬਿਰਹੋਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Someone on becoming unconscious is falling separation
ਕੋਊਕਹੈਜਦੁਰਾਮੁਖਤੇਸੁਨਿਸ੍ਰਉਨਨਬਾਤਤਹਾਏਊਧਾਵੈ॥
ਕੋਈ ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ 'ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ' ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਗੋਪੀ) ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਧਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਜ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਉਪਿਖਵੈਨਤਹਾਤਿਨਕੋਸੁਕਹੈਹਮਕੋਹਰਿਹਾਥਿਨਆਵੈ॥੯੫੩॥
ਜਦ ਉਥੇ ਉਸ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੀ, (ਤਾਂ) ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਣਗੇ ॥੯੫੩॥
Someone is running hither and thither shouting the name of Krishna and listening to the sound of his moving feet with her ears and when does not see him, she says in her state of worry that she is not getting at Krishna.953.
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਬ੍ਯਾਕੁਲਚਿਤਭਈਹਰਿਕੇਨਹੀਆਵਨਕੀਸੁਧਿਪਾਈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ।
The gopis are greatly worried and they have no inkling of the coming of Krishna
ਬ੍ਯਾਕੁਲਹੋਇਗਈਚਿਤਮੈਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨਸੁਤਾਮਨਮੈਮੁਰਝਾਈ॥
ਰਾਧਾ ਵੀ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਰਝਾ ਗਈ।
Radha, being in great anguish, has become lifeless
ਜੋਬਿਰਥਾਮਨਬੀਚਹੁਤੀਸੋਊਊਧਵਕੇਤਿਹਪਾਸਸੁਨਾਈ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮਾੜੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਸੀ, ਓਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਊਧਵ ਪਾਸ ਕਹਿ ਸੁਣਾਈ।
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਨਆਵਤਹੈਤਿਹਤੇਅਤਿਹੀਦੁਖਭਯੋਬਰਨਿਯੋਨਹੀਜਾਈ॥੯੫੪॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਆਏ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੯੫੪॥
Whatever agony she had in her mind, she talked about that to Udhava adding that Krishna was not coming and the suffering was indescribable.954.
ਊਧਵਉਤਰਦੇਤਭਯੋਅਤਿਬਿਯੋਗਮਨੇਅਪਨੇਸੋਊਕੈਹੈ॥
ਊਧਵ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿਯੋਗ ਮਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Udhava also extremely worred, talked thus amongst the gopis, that
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਕੇਮਨਮਧਿਬਿਖੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਜੋਊਬਾਤਰੁਚੈਹੈ॥
ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ (ਊਧਵ ਓਹੀ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ)।
Fearless Krishna would be meeting them within a few days
ਥੋਰੇਹੀਦ੍ਰਯੋਸਨਮੈਮਿਲਿਹੈਜਿਹਕੇਉਰਮੈਨਕਛੂਭ੍ਰਮਭੈਹੈ॥
(ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਥੋੜੇ ਹੀ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ) ਮਿਲਣਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਭਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Become like a Yogi and meditate on him
ਜੋਗਿਨਹੋਇਜਪੋਹਰਿਕੋਮੁਖਮਾਗਹੁਗੀਤੁਮਸੋਬਰੁਦੈਹੈ॥੯੫੫॥
ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਪੋ (ਫਿਰ) ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਜੋ ਮੰਗੋਗੀਆਂ, ਓਹੀ ਵਰ (ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ) ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ॥੯੫੫॥
He will grant you whatever boon you will ask him.955.
ਉਨਦੈਇਮਊਧਵਗ੍ਯਾਨਚਲਿਯੋਚਲਿਕੈਜਸੁਧਾਪਤਿਪੈਸੋਊਆਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਗੋਪੀਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਊਧਵ ਚਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਨੰਦ ('ਜਸੁਧਾ ਪਤਿ') ਪਾਸ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
After talking words of wisdom with the gopis, Udhava came to meet Nand
ਆਵਤਹੀਜਸੁਧਾਜਸੁਧਾਪਤਿਪਾਇਨਊਪਰਸੀਸਝੁਕਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਜਸੋਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੰਦ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਪੈਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Both Yashoda and Nand bowed their heads at his feet
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਹੀਸ੍ਯਾਮਸਦਾਕਹੀਯੋਕਹਿਕੈਇਹਮੋਪਹਿਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਪਠਾਯੋ॥
(ਊਧਵ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਿਹਾ) 'ਸਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਰਹੋ', ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
Udhava said to them, “Krishna has sent me to you to instruct you regarding the remembrance of the name of the Lord
ਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਰਥਪੈਚੜਕੈਰਥਕੋਮਥੁਰਾਹੀਕੀਓਰਿਚਲਾਯੋ॥੯੫੬॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਵਲ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੯੫੬॥
” Saying this Udhava mounted on his chariot and started for Matura.956.
ਊਧਵਬਾਚਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਜੂਸੋ॥
ਊਧਵ ਨੇ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ:

(ਊਧਵ) ਤਦ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪਿਆ।
ਕਹਿਯੋਜੋਤੁਮਮੋਕਹਿਕੈਪਠਿਯੋਤਿਨਸੋਇਹਭਾਤਿਹੀਸੋਉਚਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
After reaching Mathura, Udhava bowed at the feet of Krishna and Balram and said, “O Krishna! whatever you had asked me to say, I have done accordingly
