ਮਾਤਪਿਤਾਨਕੀਸੰਕਕਰੈਨਹਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਹੀਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਰੈਮੁਖਸਿਉ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਸੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਚਾਰਨ) ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Forsaking their parental shyness, the gopis are repeating the name of Krishna
ਭੂਮਿਗਿਰੈਬਿਧਿਜਾਮਤਵਾਰਪਰੈਗਿਰਕੈਧਰਿਪੈਸੋਊਤਿਉ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਕੋਈ) ਨਸ਼ਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ (ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਗਿਰ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਕ
They are falling down on the earth and getting up like the intoxicated persons
ਬ੍ਰਿਜਕੁੰਜਨਢੂੰਢਤਹੈਤੁਮਕੋਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਧਨਲੋਭਕਜਿਉ॥
ਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬ੍ਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁੰਜ-ਗਲੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲਭਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਧਨ ਦਾ ਲੋਭੀ (ਧਨ ਲਭਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
They are searching you in the alcoves of Braja like a person engrossed in the greed of wealth
ਅਬਤਾਤੇਕਰੋਬਿਨਤੀਤੁਮਸੋਪਿਖਕੈਤਿਨਕੋਫੁਨਿਹਉਦੁਖਇਉ॥੯੮੦॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ (ਦੁਖੀ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ (ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ) ॥੯੮੦॥
Therefore I am requesting you, seeing them my suffering has also increased.980.
ਆਪਚਲੋਇਹਤੇਨਭਲੀਜੁਪੈਆਪਚਲੋਨਹੀਦੂਤਪਠੀਜੈ॥
ਜੇ ਆਪ (ਬ੍ਰਜ ਨੂੰ) ਚਲੋ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ (ਹੋਰ) ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ (ਕੋਈ) ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੇ ਆਪ ਨਾ ਚਲੋ, ਤਾਂ ਦੂਤ ਹੀ ਭੇਜ ਦਿਓ।
If you go yourself, nothing will be more appropriate than this
ਤਾਤੇਕਰੋਬਿਨਤੀਤੁਮਸੋਦੁਹਬਾਤਨਤੇਇਕਬਾਤਕਰੀਜੈ॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਗੱਲ (ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੀ) ਕਰ ਦਿਓ।
If you can’t do this, then send your messenger, I request that one of these things must be done
ਜਿਉਜਲਕੇਬਿਨਮੀਨਦਸਾਸੁਦਸਾਭਈਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਕੀਸੁਨਿਲੀਜੈ॥
(ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਛਲੀ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
Whatever condition is experienced by fish without water, the same is happening to the gopis
ਕੈਜਲਹੋਇਉਨੈਮਿਲੀਐਕਿਉਨੈਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾਕੋਕਹਿਯੋਬਰੁਦੀਜੈ॥੯੮੧॥
(ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ! ਊਧਵ) ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੋ ਜਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੀਰਜ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਦਿਓ ॥੯੮੧॥
Now either you may meet them as water or give them the boon of the detrminationof the mind.981.

ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਵਾਸਣਾਂ ਦ ਸਾਰਾ ਹਾਲ ਊਧਵ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ।
Krishna heard from Udhava the condition of the residents of Braja
ਜਾਕੀਕਥਾਸੁਨਕੈਚਿਤਤੇਸੁਹੁਲਾਸਘਟੈਦੁਖਹੋਵਤਜੀਨੋ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਘਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Listening to that story, the happiness decreases and the agony increases
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹਿਯੋਮੁਖਤੇਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਿਧੌਕਬਿਨੈਸੁਸੋਊਲਖਿਲੀਨੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜੋ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ।
ਊਧਵਮੈਉਨਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਕੋਸੁਕਹਿਯੋਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾਕੋਅਬੈਬਰੁਦੀਨੋ॥੯੮੨॥
ਹੇ ਊਧਵ! ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਧੀਰਜ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ) ਵਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੯੮੨॥
Then Krishna uttered these words from his mouth and the poet feeling the crux of these words has repeated them, “O Udhava! I grant the boon of the determination of the mind to those gopis.”982.

ਨਗਰ ਪਾਉਂਟਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ (ਇਸ) ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੀ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਰਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੯੮੩॥
This Granth (book) has been prepared after revision in Paonta city on Wednesday in Sawan Sudi Samvat 1744. 983.
ਖੜਗਪਾਨਿਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੇਪੋਥੀਰਚੀਬਿਚਾਰਿ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਹੈ ('ਖੜਗ ਪਾਨ') (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਪੋਥੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ।
With the grace of the sword-wielder Lord-God, this Granth has been prepared thoughtfully
ਭੂਲਿਹੋਇਜਹਤਹਸੁਕਬਿਪੜਿਅਹੁਸਭੈਸੁਧਾਰਿ॥੯੮੪॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਭੁਲ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਹੇ ਕਵੀਓ! ਸੋਧ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ॥੯੮੪॥
Even then, if there is any mistake anywhere, the poets may kindly recite it after revision.984.

ਅਵਰਖੇਲਖੇਲਨਲਗੇਅਤਿਹੀਹਰਖਬਢਾਇ॥੯੮੫॥
(ਹੁਣ) ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡਣ ਲਗੇ ॥੯੮੫॥
Gracefully sustainint the gopas, Krishna in his pleasure absorbed himself in other sports.985.
