ਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਕੇਬੀਰਜਿਤੇਅਸਿਹਾਥਨਲੈਅਰਿਊਪਰਿਧਾਏ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸਨ, ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਤੇ ਟੁੱਟ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
All the warriors of Krishna, taking their swords in their hands fell upon the enemies
ਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋਕਤਿਕੋਪੁਦੁਹੂੰਦਿਸਿਜੰਬੁਕਜੋਗਿਨਗ੍ਰਿਝਅਘਾਏ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਦੜ, ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਰਝਾਂ (ਮਾਸ ਖਾ ਕੇ) ਰਜ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
Getting enraged they fought such a battle that in all the ten directions, the jackals and vultures ate the flesh of the dead to their fill
ਬੀਰਗਿਰੇਦੁਹੂੰਓਰਨਕੇਗਹਿਫੇਟਕਟਾਰਿਨਸਿਉਲਰਿਘਾਏ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੂਰਮੇ (ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ) ਡਿਗੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਟਾਰਾਂ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਲੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
On both sides the warriors have fallen down on the earth and are lying down after being wounded by the daggers
ਕਉਤਕਦੇਖਕੈਦੇਵਕਹੈਧੰਨਵੇਜਨਨੀਜਿਨਏਸੁਤਜਾਏ॥੧੦੮੦॥
ਇਸ ਕੌਤਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜਣਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਂਵਾਂ ਧੰਨ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੮੦॥
Seeing this spectacle the gods are also saying that those mothers are blessed, who have given birth to such sons.1080.
ਅਉਰਜਿਤੇਬਰਬੀਰਹੁਤੇਅਤਿਰੋਸਭਰੇਰਨਭੂਮਹਿਆਏ॥
ਹੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸਨ, (ਉਹ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
All other warriors who were there, they also came in the battlefield
ਜਾਦਵਸੈਨਚਲੀਇਤਤੇਤਿਨਹੂੰਮਿਲਕੈਅਤਿਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਏ॥
ਇਧਰੋਂ ਯਾਦਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਚਲੀ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਵੈਰੀਆਂ) ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
From this side, the army of the Yadavas marched forward and on the other side those people began a dreadful fight
ਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਦਾਬਰਛੇਬਹੁਆਪਸਬੀਚਚਲਾਏ॥
ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ, ਗਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਲਾਏ ਹਨ।
The bows, arrows, swords, maces, daggers, all these weapons were used
ਭੇਦਚਮੂੰਜਦੁਬੀਰਨਕੀਸਭਹੀਜਦੁਰਾਇਕੇਊਪਰਧਾਏ॥੧੦੮੧॥
ਯਾਦਵ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਤੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੦੮੧॥
After meeting the army of the Yadavas, the enemy’s army fell upon Krishna.1081.
ਚਕ੍ਰਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲਗਦਾਗਹਿਬੀਰਕਰੰਧਰਕੈਅਸਿਅਉਰਕਟਾਰੀ॥
ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੱਕਰ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ, ਗਦਾ (ਆਦਿਕ ਹਥਿਆਰ) ਪਕੜ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਟਾਰਾਂ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
The warriors are holding the discs, tridents, maces, swords and daggers
ਮਾਰਹੀਮਾਰਪੁਕਾਰਿਪਰੇਲਰੇਘਾਇਕਰੇਨਟਰੇਬਲਭਾਰੀ॥
'ਮਾਰ ਲੌ, ਮਾਰ ਲੌ' ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਲੜ ਕੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਟਲਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।
Those mighty ones, shouting “kill, kill are not receding from their places
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਬਿਦਾਰਦਈਧੁਜਨੀਤਿਹਕੀਉਪਮਾਇਹਭਾਤਿਬਿਚਾਰੀ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ) ਉਪਮਾ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਚਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਨਹੁਖੇਤਸਰੋਵਰਮੈਧਸਿਕੈਗਜਿਬਾਰਜਬ੍ਰਯੂਹਬਿਡਾਰੀ॥੧੦੮੨॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਰੂਪ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੜ ਕੇ, (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਰੂਪ) ਹਾਥੀ ਨੇ ਕਮਲ ਫੁਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਝੁੰਡ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੦੮੨॥
Krishna has destroyed the enemy’s forces and it seems that on entering a tank some elephant has destroyed the lotus-flowers.1082.
ਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਨਾਥਕੇਬਾਨਨਅਗ੍ਰਡਰੈਅਰਿਇਉਕਿਹੂੰਧੀਰਧਰਿਯੋਨਾ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਧੀਰਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The enemy frightened by the arrows of Krishna are losing patience
ਬੀਰਸਬੈਹਟਕੇਠਟਕੇਭਟਕੇਰਨਭੀਤਰਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋਨਾ॥
(ਵੈਰੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਠਠੰਬਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਹਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਖਿੰਡ ਗਏ ਹਨ; ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ) ਯੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
All warriors, getting shamefaced, are going to leave and none of them is desirous of continuing the war
ਮੂਸਲਅਉਹਲਪਾਨਿਲਯੋਬਲਿਪੇਖਿਭਜੇਦਲਕੋਊਅਰਿਯੋਨਾ॥
ਮੋਹਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਲ ਨੂੰ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲਏ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰਾ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਲ ਭਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਉਮ੍ਰਿਗਕੇਗਨਛਾਡਿਚਲੈਬਨਡੀਠਪਰਿਯੋਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜਕੋਛਉਨਾ॥੧੦੮੩॥
ਕੋਈ ਵੀ (ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ) ਨਹੀਂ ਡਟਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਡਾਰ ਭਜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੮੩॥
Seeing Balram with his mace and plough in his hands, the enemy’s army fled and this spectacle seems like this that seeing a lion, the deer in fear are leaving the forest and running away.1083.
ਭਾਗਿਤਬੈਸਭਹੀਰਨਤੇਗਿਰਤੇਪਰਤੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਤੀਰਪੁਕਾਰੇ॥
ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਢਹਿੰਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ (ਜਰਾਸੰਧ) ਪਾਸ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤੇਰੇਹੀਜੀਵਤਹੇਪ੍ਰਭਜੂਸਿਗਰੇਰਿਸਕੈਬਲਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ! ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਜੀ, ਬਲਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਸੈਨਿਕ) ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
All the soldiers staggering in the path reached near jarasandh and shouted loudly, “O Lord! Krishna and Balram have killed all your soldiers in their fury
ਮਾਰੇਅਨੇਕਨਏਕਬਚਿਯੋਬਹੁਬੀਰਗਿਰੇਰਨਭੂਮਿਮਝਾਰੇ॥
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਬਚਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ; ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
“Not even one soldier has survived
ਤਾਤੇਸੁਨੋਬਿਨਤੀਹਮਰੀਉਨਜੀਤਭਈਤੁਮਰੇਦਲਹਾਰੇ॥੧੦੮੪॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਡੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣੋ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਹਾਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੮੪॥
All of them have fallen on the earth in the battlefield, therefore we tell you, O King! That they are victorious and your army has been defeated.”1084.
ਕੋਪਕਰਿਯੋਤਬਸੰਧਿਜਰਾਅਰਿਮਾਰਨਕਉਬਹੁਬੀਰਬੁਲਾਏ॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਏ।
Then in great rage, the king called the mighty warriors in order to kill the enemies
ਆਇਸਪਾਵਤਹੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੈਮਿਲਿਕੈਹਰਿਕੇਬਧਬੇਕਹੁਧਾਏ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੇ ਯੋਧੇ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਭਜ ਪਏ।
Receving the orders of the king, they moved forward for killing Krishna
ਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਗਦਾਗਹਿਕੈਉਮਡੇਘਨਜਿਉਘਨਸ੍ਯਾਮਪੈਆਏ॥
ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਗਦਾ (ਆਦਿਕ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਬਦਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਮਡ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ।
Catching hold of the bow, arrows, maces etc., they swelled like clouds and fell upon Krishna
ਆਇਪਰੇਹਰਿਊਪਰਸੋਮਿਲਿਕੈਬਗਮੇਲਿਤੁਰੰਗਉਠਾਏ॥੧੦੮੫॥
ਉਹ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਪਰ ਆ ਪਏ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਬਗਲੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ (ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਿਚ) ਉਠ ਕੇ (ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧੦੮੫॥
They attacked Krishna on their galloping horses.1085.
ਰੋਸਭਰੇਮਿਲਿਆਨਿਪਰੇਹਰਿਕਉਲਲਕਾਰਕੇਜੁਧਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਗਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
They began to fight with Krishna, while shouting with great ire
ਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਦਾਗਹਿਯੌਤਿਨਸਾਰਸੋਸਾਰਬਜਾਯੋ॥
ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ, ਗਦਾ (ਆਦਿਕ ਹਥਿਆਰ) ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਹੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਹਾ ਵਜਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
They held their arrows, swords and maces in their hands and struck steel with steel
ਘਾਇਲਆਪਭਏਭਟਸੋਅਰੁਸਸਤ੍ਰਨਸੋਹਰਿਕੋਤਨੁਘਾਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਆਪ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
They themselves were wounded, but also inflicted wounds on the body of Krishna
ਦਉਰਪਰੇਹਲਮੂਸਲਲੈਬਲਿਬੈਰਨਕੋਦਲੁਮਾਰਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥੧੦੮੬॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਹਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਲਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੦੮੬॥
Balram also ran with his plough and mace and he knocked down the army of the enemies.1086.

ਤਿਨਬੀਰਨਕੇਨਾਮਸਬਸੋਕਬਿਕਹਤਸੁਨਾਇ॥੧੦੮੭॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਵੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੮੭॥
The great warriors who fought with Krishna and fell in the field, the poet now enumerates their names,1087

The heroic warriors like Narsingh, Gaj Singh, Dhan Singh moved forward
ਹਰੀਸਿੰਘਬਡੋਰਨਸਿੰਘਨਰੇਸਤਹਾਕੋਚਲਿਯੋਦਿਜਕੋਧਨਦੈ॥
ਵੱਡਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ (ਦਾਨ) ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉਥੋਂ ਲਈ ਤੁਰੇ ਹਨ।
The kings like Hari Singh, Ran Singh etc. also moved after giving alms to the Brahmins
ਜਦੁਬੀਰਸੋਜਾਇਕੈਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋਬਹੁਬੀਰਚਮੂੰਸੁਘਨੀਹਨਿਕੈ॥
(ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੈਨਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿਊਪਰਿਬਾਨਅਨੇਕਹਨੇਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਯੋਹਮਰੀਰਨਿਜੈ॥੧੦੮੮॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਤੇ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, 'ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਡੀ ਹੀ ਜਿਤ ਹੈ' ॥੧੦੮੮॥
The large army of four divisions moved and fought with Krishna and hailing themselves, they discharged many arrows on Krishna.1088.
ਹੋਇਇਕਤ੍ਰਇਤੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਯੌਹਰਿਊਪਰਬਾਨਚਲਾਵਨਲਾਗੇ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਤਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਇਕਤਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਤੇ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਲਗ ਗਏ।
On this side all the kings gathered together and began to discharge arrows upon Krishna
ਕੋਪਕੈਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋਤਿਨਹੂੰਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕਤੇਪਗਦੁਇਕਰਿਆਗੇ॥
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਦੋ ਕਦਮ ਅਗੇ ਵਧ ਕੇ ਲੜੇ।
Moving two steps forward, they in fury, fought with Krishna
ਜੀਵਕੀਆਸਕਉਤ੍ਯਾਗਿਤਬੈਸਬਹੀਰਸਰੁਦ੍ਰਬਿਖੈਅਨੁਰਾਗੇ॥
ਜੀਉਣ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਰੌਦਰ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਸਨ।

ਚੀਰਧਰੇਸਿਤਆਏਹੁਤੇਛਿਨਬੀਚਭਏਸਭਆਰੁਨਬਾਗੇ॥੧੦੮੯॥
(ਉਹ) ਸਫ਼ੈਦ ਕਪੜੇ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, (ਪਰ) ਛਿਣ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੧੦੮੯॥
The white garments worn by the warriors became red in an instant.1089.
ਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋਤਿਨਬੀਰਨਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੋਪਾਰਥਜ੍ਯੋਰਿਸਕੈਕਰਨੈਸੇ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਰਜਨ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ 'ਕਰਨ' ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
The warriors greatly infuriated, waged such a war with Krishna, which was waged earlier by Arjuna with Karana
ਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋਬਹੁਸੈਨਹਨੀਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰਅਰਿਯੋਰਨਭੂਮਧਿਐਸੇ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਟ ਗਿਆ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ (ਖੰਭਾ ਗਡਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
Balram also in anger and standing firmly in the field destroyed a great part of the army
ਬੀਰਫਿਰੈਕਰਿਸਾਗਨਿਲੈਤਿਹਘੇਰਿਲਯੋਬਲਦੇਵਹਿਕੈਸੇ॥
(ਜੋ) ਸੈਨਿਕ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਬਰਛੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਲਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ;
ਜੋਰਿਸੋਸਾਕਰਿਤੋਰਿਘਿਰਿਯੋਮਦਮਤਕਰੀਗਢਦਾਰਨਜੈਸੇ॥੧੦੯੦॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਸਤ ਹਾਥੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਗਲ ਤੁੜਾ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਨੇਜ਼ਾਬਰਦਾਰਾਂ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਭਾਲੇ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰਾਂ) ਦੁਆਰਾ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੯੦॥
Holding their lances and swinging the warriors encircled Balram like the intoxicated elephant freeing himself from the steel-chains with his strength, but was entrapped in a deep pit.1090.
ਰਨਭੂਮਿਮੈਜੁਧਭਯੋਅਤਿਹੀਤਤਕਾਲਮਰੇਰਿਪੁਆਏਹੈਜੋਊ॥
ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਤਿ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਥੇ) ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਆਏ ਹਨ, ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
There was a fierce fighting in the battlefield and the king who came there, was instantly killed
ਜੁਧਕਰਿਯੋਘਨਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਘਨੋਉਤਕੋਪਭਰੇਮਨਮੈਭਟਓਊ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਧਰ ਉਹ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਵੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
On this side Krishna waged a dreadful war and on the other side, the warriors of the enemy were filled with great rage
ਸ੍ਰੀਨਰਸਿੰਘਜੂਬਾਨਹਨ੍ਯੋਹਰਿਕੋਜਿਹਕੀਸਮਅਉਰਨਕੋਊ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਬਾਣ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ (ਸੂਰਮਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਯੌਉਪਮਾਉਪਜੀਜੀਯਮੈਜਿਵਸੋਵਤਸਿੰਘਜਗਾਵਤਕੋਊ॥੧੦੯੧॥
(ਉਸ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਵੀ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੯੧॥
Narsingh discharged his arrow towards Krishna in such a way as if someone was desirous of awaking the sleeping lion.1091.
