ਸੋਊਬਚੇਤਿਹਤੇਬਲਬੀਰਜੋਊਭਜਿਆਪਨੇਪ੍ਰਾਨਬਚਾਵੈ॥
ਉਸ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਓਹੀ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Only that warrior would remain safe, who would run away to save himself
ਅਉਰਨਕੀਸੁਕਹਾਗਨਤੀਜੁਬਡੇਭਟਜੀਵਤਜਾਨਨਪਾਵੈ॥੧੨੨੩॥
ਹੋਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ ਵੀ) ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧੨੨੩॥
What was number of others? Even the great warriors could not go alive from that place.1223.
ਮੂਸਲਅਉਰਲਏਮੁਸਲੀਚੜਿਸ੍ਯੰਦਨਪੈਬਹੁਰੋਫਿਰਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਮੂਸਲ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਆਵਤਹੀਬਲਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੋਚਤੁਰੰਗਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਕੋਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਜੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Balram mounted on his chariot came again with the other mace and on his arrival, he began to wage war of four types with the king
ਅਉਰਜਿਤੇਭਟਠਾਢੇਹੁਤੇਰਿਸਕੈਮੁਖਿਤੇਇਹਭਾਤਿਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਸਨ, (ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ।
He, in great, anger, said to all the other remaining warriors, “Do not let him go alive
ਜਾਨਿਨਦੇਹੁਅਰੇਅਰਿਕੋਸੁਨਿਕੈਹਰਿਕੇਦਲੁਕੋਪੁਬਢਾਯੋ॥੧੨੨੪॥
ਓਇ! ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਨਾ ਦਿਓ, ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੨੨੪॥
” Hearing these words, the forces of Krishna also became infuriated.1224.
ਐਸੇਹਲਾਯੁਧਕੋਪਿਕਹਿਯੋਤਬਜਾਦਵਬੀਰਸਬੈਮਿਲਿਧਾਏ॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਾਦਵ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When Balram exhibited his ire in this manner, then all the Yadava warriors fell upon the enemy whosoever now came before them, could not return alive
ਜੋਇਹਸਾਮੁਹੇਆਇਅਰੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੋਤੇਊਜੀਵਤਜਾਨਿਨਪਾਏ॥
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਡਟ ਗਿਆ, (ਫਿਰ) ਉਹ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਪਰਤ ਸਕਿਆ।
All those who were standing there,
ਅਉਰਜਿਤੇਤਹਠਾਢੇਹੁਤੇਅਸਿਲੈਬਰਛੈਪਰਸੇਗਹਿਆਏ॥
ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਸਨ, (ਉਹ) ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ, ਬਰਛੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਹਾੜੇ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਏ।
They started moving with their axes and lances
ਤੇਊਭਿਰੇਜੋਊਲਾਜਭਰੇਅਰਿਕੋਬਰਕੈਤਿਨਘਾਇਲਗਾਏ॥੧੨੨੫॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲਾਜ ਦੇ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, (ਉਹ) ਬੜੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਲੜੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਘਾਓ ਲਗਾਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੨੨੫॥
Keeping into consideration their honour and custom, they struck blows on the enemy with full strength.1225.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਜ ਗਈ, (ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ) ਬਾਣ ਮਾਨੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਰਨਾਂ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੨੨੬॥
When Amit Singh, in great fury, discharged innumerable arrows, then the enemy’s fled like the darkness running away in bewilderment before the sun.1226.

ਜਦ ਯਾਦਵੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਰਣ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਗੀ, (ਤਾਂ) ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ,
ਛਤ੍ਰਨਿਕੇਕੁਲਮੈਉਪਜੇਕਿਹਭਾਤਿਪਰਾਵਤਹੋਬਲੁਹਾਰੇ॥
ਛਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਭਜੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
Balram said to the running away Yadava army, “O warriors born in the clans of Kshatriyas! why are you running away?
ਆਯੁਧਛਾਡਤਹੋਕਰਤੇਡਰੁਮਾਨਿਘਨੋਬਿਨਹੀਅਰਿਮਾਰੇ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੇ ਬਿਨਾ, ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਛਡ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
“You are dropping your weapons without killing the enemy
ਤ੍ਰਾਸਕਰੋਨਕਛੂਰਨਮੈਜਬਲਉਤਨਮੈਥਿਰੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਹਮਾਰੇ॥੧੨੨੭॥
ਜਦ ਤਕ ਸਾਡੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹਨ, (ਤਦ ਤਕ) ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨੋ ॥੧੨੨੭॥
You should have not fear of war, till I am alive.”1227.

Balram in anger, caressing the warriors, said, “Kill Amit Singh by besieging him.”1228.

ਅਤਿਕੋਪਭਰੀਅਪੁਨੇਮਨਮੈਅਮਿਟੇਸਕੇਸਾਮੁਹੇਆਇਅਰੀ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਡਟ ਗਈ।
Receiving the command of Balram, his army fell upon the enemy challenging him from all the four directions and filled with rage resisted in front of Amit Singh
ਬਹੁਜੁਧੁਅਯੋਧਨਬੀਚਭਯੋਕਬਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਨਹੀਨੈਕੁਡਰੀ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਯੁੱਧਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਘਮਸਾਨ ਜੰਗ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ (ਯਾਦਵੀ ਸੈਨਾ) ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਾ ਡਰੀ।
There was dreadful fighting in the battlefield, but the army did not fear even slightly
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਬੀਰਸਰਾਸਨਿਲੈਕਰਬਾਨਘਨੀਪ੍ਰਿਤਨਾਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਕਰੀ॥੧੨੨੯॥
ਬਲਬੀਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧੨੨੯॥
The king Amit Singh, taking his bow in his hand, killed many warriors of the army and made the army helpless.1229.
ਕਾਟਿਕਰੀਰਥਕਾਟਿਦਏਬਹੁਬੀਰਹਨੇਅਤਿਬਾਜਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥
ਹਾਥੀ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਰਥ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਬਹੁਤ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਹਿਸਾਬੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਵੀ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ।
The elephants, chariots, warriors and horses were killed and destroyed
ਘਾਇਲਘੂਮਤਹੈਰਨਮੈਕਿਤਨੇਸਿਰਭੂਮਿਪਰੇਧਰਭਾਰੇ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਘਾਇਲ ਘੁੰਮ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਸਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਧੜ ਭੂਮੀ ਉਤੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
Many warriors, getting wounded, are roaming and many huge trunks are lying on the earth
ਜੀਵਤਜੇਤੇਊਆਯੁਧਲੈਨਡਰੇਅਰਿਊਪਰਿਘਾਇਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ॥
ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਘਾਓ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Those who are alive, they taking their weapons in their hands are striking blows on the enemy fearlessly
ਤਉਤਿਨਕੇਤਨਆਹਵਮੈਅਸਿਲੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਖੰਡਨਖੰਡਕੈਡਾਰੇ॥੧੨੩੦॥
ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧੨੩੦॥
The king Amit Singh has chopped into bits the bodies of such-like warriors, taking his sword in his hand.1230.
ਜੁਧਬਿਖੈਅਤਿਤੀਰਲਗੇਬਹੁਬੀਰਨਕੋਤਨਸ੍ਰੋਣਤਭੀਨੇ॥
ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਾਣ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਨ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
With the infliction of arrows, the bodies of many warriors are saturated with blood
ਕਾਇਰਭਾਜਗਏਰਨਤੇਅਤਿਹੀਡਰਸਿਉਜਿਹਗਾਤਪਸੀਨੇ॥
ਕਾਇਰ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਸੀਨਾ ਪਸੀਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
The cowards have perspired and run away from the battlefield
ਭੂਤਪਿਸਾਚਕਰੈਕਿਲਕਾਰਫਿਰੈਰਨਜੋਗਿਨਖਪਰਲੀਨੇ॥
ਭੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਸ਼ਾਚ ਕਿਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਖੱਪਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਆਨਿਫਿਰਿਓਤਹਸ੍ਰੀਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰਾਰਿਸੁਆਧੋਈਅੰਗਸਿਵਾਤਨਕੀਨੇ॥੧੨੩੧॥
ਉਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸ਼ਿਵ ('ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰਾਰਿ') ਆ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਅੱਧੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੩੧॥
The ghosts and fiends are running raising shrieks and the Yoginis have taken the bowls in their hands, Shiva is also roaming there alongwith his ganas and the dead lying there have been reduced into half, because their flesh in being eaten.1231.

ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਬਾਦ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਚੇਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਦਾਰੁਕਸੋਕਹਿਓਹਾਕਿਰਥੁਪੁਨਿਆਏਜਹਖੇਤੁ॥੧੨੩੨॥
ਰਥਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ। ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਉਥੇ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਏ ॥੧੨੩੨॥
Krishna regained consciousness after about three gharis (short span of time) of remaining unconscious and getting his chariot driven by Daruk, he reached the battlefield again.1232.

ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਸਹਾਇਕ ਹਨ, (ਤਾਂ) ਫਿਰ ਯਦੁਬੰਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ।
When the warriors of Yadava can saw Krishna coming for their help
ਅਮਿਟੇਸਸੋਧਾਇਅਰੇਰਨਮੈਤਿਹਜੋਧਨਸੋਨਹੀਏਕਭਗਿਯੋ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਾ ਕੇ ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਗੇ ਡਟ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਭਜਿਆ।
The anger awoke in them, they ran to fight against Amit Singh and none of them ran away from the battlefield
ਗਹਿਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਦਾਅਤਿਹੀਦਲੁਆਹਵਕੋਉਮਗਿਯੋ॥
ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ, ਗਦਾ (ਆਦਿਕ ਹਥਿਆਰ) ਪਕੜ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਉਮਗ ਪਈ।
ਬਹੁਸ੍ਰਉਨਪਗੇਰੰਗਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਜਗੇਮਨੋਆਗਿਲਗੇਗਨਸਾਲਦਗਿਯੋ॥੧੨੩੩॥
ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਿਜ ਜਾਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਾਲੇ ਰੰਗ (ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਚਮਕਣ ਲਗ ਪਏ, ਮਾਨੋ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਣ ਤੇ ਬਾਰੂਦ-ਖ਼ਾਨਾ ਜਗਮਗਾਉਣ ਲਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੨੩੩॥
The forces rushed forward taking their swords, bows, arrows, maces etc., the warriors filled with blood were gleaming like a heap of straw burning in fire.1233.
ਬਿਬਿਧਾਯੁਧਲੈਪੁਨਿਜੁਧੁਕੀਓਅਤਿਹੀਮਨਮੈਭਟਕੋਪਭਰੇ॥
ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The warriors waged the war in fury taking up their weapons

ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ 'ਮਾਰ ਲੌ, ਮਾਰ ਲੌ' ਪੁਕਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਯੁੱਧਭੂਮੀ (ਦੀ ਭਿਆਨਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰੇ ਹਨ।
All were shouting “Kill, Kill” and not fearing even slightly
ਪੁਨਿਯਾਬਿਧਿਸਿਉਕਬਿਰਾਮੁਕਹੈਜਦੁਬੀਰਘਨੇਅਰਿਸਾਥਅਰੇ॥
ਕਵੀ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਫਿਰ ਇਸ ਜੁਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਬਹਤੁ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਾਦਵ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਅੜ ਖੜੋਤੇ।
The poet says again that Krishna resisted numerous warriors
ਰਿਸਿਭੂਪਤਬੈਬਲਕੈਅਸਿਲੈਰਿਪੁਕੇਤਨਦ੍ਵੈਕਰਿਚਾਰਕਰੇ॥੧੨੩੪॥
ਤਦ ਰਾਜਾ (ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਵੈਰੀ (ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੋਫਾੜ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਫਾੜ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧੨੩੪॥

ਐਸੀਨਿਹਾਰਿਕੈਮਾਰਿਮਚੀਜੋਊਜੀਵਤਥੇਤਜਿਜੁਧੁਪਰਾਨੇ॥
ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਚਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਜੋ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਯੁੱਧ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
Seeing such a dreadful war, those warriors who were coming for fighting left and ran away from war-arena
