ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ।

ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ) 'ਅ' ('ਅਕਾਰ') ਹਟਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਇਸ ਨਾਲ) ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ॥੧੨੫੨॥
Hearing the words of Amit Singh, Krishna was highly enraged and said, “O Amit Singh! I shall now destroy your body and make you lifeless.”1252.

ਜੁਧੁਕਰਿਯੋਹਰਿਜੂਜੁਗਜਾਮਤਬੈਰਿਪੁਰੀਝਕੈਐਸੇਪੁਕਾਰਿਓ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਪਹਿਰ ਤਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ,
ਬਾਲਕਹੋਅਰੁਜੁਧਪ੍ਰਬੀਨਹੋਮਾਗੁਕਛੂਮੁਖਿਜੋਜੀਯਧਾਰਿਓ॥
(ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਬਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਲੈ।
When Krishna fought for two Pahars (about six hours), the enemy Amit Singh got pleased and said, “O Krishna! although you are still a child, but you are skillful in warfare, you may ask for whatever you want.”
ਆਪੁਨੀਪਾਤਕੀਘਾਤਕੀਬਾਤਕਉਦੇਹੁਬਤਾਇਮੁਰਾਰਿਉਚਾਰਿਓ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਘਾਤ ਦੀ (ਜੋ) ਜੁਗਤ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਸ ਦੇ।
ਸਾਮੁਹੇਮੋਹਿਨਕੋਊਹਨੈਅਸਿਲੈਤਬਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਪਛਾਵਰਿਝਾਰਿਓ॥੧੨੫੩॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਮਣਿਓਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਤਦ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੨੫੩॥
Krishna said, “Tell me the manner of your death.” Then Amit Singh said, “No one can kill me from the front.” Then Krishna struck a blow on him behind.1253.
ਸੀਸਕਟਿਓਨਹਟਿਓਤਿਹਠਉਰਤੇਦਉਰਕੈਆਗੈਹੀਕੋਪਗੁਧਾਰਿਓ॥
(ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ) ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਗਿਆ, (ਪਰ) ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਹਟਿਆ, (ਸਗੋਂ) ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਅਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪੈਰ ਰਖਿਆ।
ਕੁੰਚਰਏਕਹੁਤੇਦਲਮੈਤਿਹਧਾਇਕੈਜਾਇਕੈਘਾਇਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਓ॥
ਉਸ ਦਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਹਾਥੀ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ (ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਧੜ ਨੇ) ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
The head of Amit Singh was cut, but still he ran and moved forward and he struck a dreadful blow on an elephant of the army
ਮਾਰਿਕਰੀਹਨਿਬੀਰਚਲਿਓਅਸਿਲੈਕਰਿਸ੍ਰੀਹਰਿਓਰਿਪਧਾਰਿਓ॥
ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਮਾ (ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ) ਚਲ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਵਲ ਵਧ ਚਲਿਆ।
After killing the elephant and many warriors, he rushed forward towards Krishna
ਭੂਮਿਗਿਰਿਓਸਿਰੁਸ੍ਰੀਸਿਵਲੈਗੁਹਿਮੁੰਡਕੀਮਾਲਕੋਮੇਰੁਸਵਾਰਿਓ॥੧੨੫੪॥
ਸਿਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ, (ਤਾਂ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੁੰਡ ਮਾਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਗੁੰਦ ਕੇ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) 'ਮੇਰੁ' (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਪਰਲਾ ਮਣਕਾ) ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੨੫੪॥
His head fell down on the ground, which was given a place of Meru by Shiva in his rosary of skulls.1254.

ਅਮਿਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਕੜਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
The mighty warrior Amit Singh had waged a terrible war
ਨਿਕਸਿਜੋਤਿਹਰਿਸੋਮਿਲੀਜਿਉਨਿਸਕੋਕਰਿਭਾਨੁ॥੧੨੫੫॥
(ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਜੋਤਿ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਰਨਾਂ (ਸੂਰਜ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ) ॥੧੨੫੫॥
Just as the light moves out from the sun and moon, in the same manner, his light, coming out from his body, merged in Lord-God.1255.

ਅਉਰਜਿਤੀਪ੍ਰਿਤਨਾਅਰਿਕੀਤਿਨਹੂੰਜਦੁਬੀਰਸੋਜੁਧੁਕੀਆ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
The remaining army of the enemy fought with Krishna
ਬਿਨੁਭੂਪਤਿਆਨਿਅਰੇਨਡਰੇਰਿਸਕੋਕਰਿਕੈਅਤਿਗਾਢੋਹੀਆ॥
ਬਿਨਾ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ (ਉਹ) ਆ ਕੇ ਡਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਡਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
They even stood firmly without their king and in their fury, they strengthened their heart
ਮਿਲਧਾਇਪਰੇਹਰਿਪੈਭਟਯੌਕਵਿਤਾਛਬਿਕੋਜਸੁਮਾਨਲੀਆ॥
(ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ।
ਮਾਨੋਰਾਤਿਸਮੈਉਡਿਕੀਟਪਤੰਗਜਿਉਟੂਟਿਪਰੈਅਵਿਲੋਕਿਦੀਆ॥੧੨੫੬॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਤੰਗ ਦੀਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਟੁੱਟ ਪਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੨੫੬॥
The army gathered together and fell upon Krishna just as during night, seeing the earthen lamp, the insects move towards it and fall upon it.1256.

ਤਬਬ੍ਰਿਜਭੂਖਨਖੜਗੁਗਹਿਅਰਿਬਹੁਦਏਗਿਰਾਇ॥
ਤਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਖੜਗ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਗਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Then Krishna, taking his sword in his hand, knocked down many of his enemies
ਏਕਅਰੇਇਕਰੁਪਿਲਰੇਇਕਰਨਛਾਡਿਪਰਾਇ॥੧੨੫੭॥
ਇਕ ਅੜ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਪੈਰ ਗਡ ਕੇ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੨੫੭॥
Someone fought someone stood firmly and many sped away.1257.

ਹਾਹਾਕਾਰਸਤ੍ਰੁਦਲਿਪਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਹਾਕਾਰ ਮਚ ਗਿਆ।
Krishna destroyed the army of Amit Singh and there was great lamentation in the enemy’s army
ਉਤਤੇਸੂਰਅਸਤੁਹੋਇਗਯੋ॥
ਉਧਰੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਡੁਬ ਗਿਆ
ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਦਿਸਤੇਸਸਿਪ੍ਰਗਟਯੋ॥੧੨੫੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੨੫੮॥
On that side, the sun set and the moon arose in the east.1258.
ਚਾਰਜਾਮਦਿਨਜੁਧਸੁਕੀਨੋ॥
ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਪਹਿਰ ਤਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ
ਬੀਰਨਕੋਬਲੁਹੁਇਗਯੋਛੀਨੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਘਟ ਗਈ।
The warriors were exhausted and weakened by the continuous fight during the whole day
ਦੋਊਦਲਆਪਆਪਮਿਲਧਾਏ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਚਲ ਪਏ
ਇਤਜਦੁਬੀਰਬਸਤਗ੍ਰਿਹਿਆਏ॥੧੨੫੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਧਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ ॥੧੨੫੯॥
Both the armies started moving back and on this side, Krishna also returned home.1259.

ਬਲਗੁਨਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਇੰਦ੍ਰਸਮਸੁੰਦਰਕਾਮਸਰੂਪ॥੧੨੬੦॥
(ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ) ਬਲ, ਗੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਹਨ ॥੧੨੬੦॥
Then during night, Jarashandh called all the kings, who wre equal in strength to Indra and equal in beauty to the god of love.1260.
ਭੂਪਅਠਾਰਹਜੁਧਮੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਿਹਨੇਬਲਬੀਰ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਅਠਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Krishna has killed eighteen kings in the war
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਿਜੁਧਵਾਸੋਕਰੈਐਸੋਕੋਰਨਧੀਰ॥੧੨੬੧॥
(ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਰਣਧੀਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੇਗਾ ॥੧੨੬੧॥
Is there anyone now, who will go and wage war with him?1261.

ਧਉਲ (ਧੌਲ) ਸਿੰਘ (ਇਹ) ਪੰਜੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹਨ ॥੧੨੬੨॥
There were seated five chief kings named Dhum Singh, Dhvaj Singh, Man Singh, Dharadhar Singh and Dhaval Singh.1262.
ਹਾਥਜੋਰਿਉਠਿਸਭਾਮਹਿਪਾਚਹੁਕੀਯੋਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ) ਸਭਾ ਵਿਚ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਿਭੋਰਕੇਹੋਤਹੀਹਨਿਹੈਬਲਦਲਸ੍ਯਾਮ॥੧੨੬੩॥
(ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਸਵੇਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਦਲ ਬਲ (ਸਮੇਤ) ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ ॥੧੨੬੩॥
All the arose and bowed in the court and said, “As soon as the day dawns, we shall kill Balram, Krishna and his army.”1263.

ਬੋਲਤਭੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੋਤੇਊਯੌਜਿਨਿਚਿੰਤਕਰੋਹਮਜਾਇਲਰੈਂਗੇ॥
ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਣ ਲਗੇ, (ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ!) ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਅਸੀਂ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲੜਾਂਗੇ।
The kings said to Jarasandh, “Do not worry, we shall go to fight
ਆਇਸਹੋਇਤੁਬਾਧਿਲਿਆਵਹਿਨਾਤਰਬਾਨਸੋਪ੍ਰਾਨਹਰੈਂਗੇ॥
ਆਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗੇ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹਰ ਲਵਾਂਗੇ।
If you command, we shall tie him down and bring him here or we may kill him there
ਕਾਲਿਅਯੋਧਨਮੈਅਰਿਕੈਬਲਅਉਹਰਿਜਾਦਵਸੋਨਟਰੈਗੇ॥
ਕਲ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੈਰੀ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਯਾਦਵ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰਾਂਗੇ।
“We shall not recede in the battlefield by Balram, Krishna and Yadavas
ਏਕਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਕੇਸੰਗਨਿਸੰਗਉਨੈਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਕਰੈਨਡਰੈਗੇ॥੧੨੬੪॥
ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਕੋ (ਹੀ ਵਾਰ) ਨਾਲ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰਾਂਗੇ ॥੧੨੬੪॥
Even slightly, we shall make them lifeless fearlessly with one blow of the sword.”1264.
