ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ
ਅਬਤੈਦਸਭੂਪਹਨੇਬਲਵੰਡਨਰੰਚਕਤ੍ਰਾਸਕੀਯੋਮਨਮੈ॥
ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਦਸ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਡਰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ।
On getting furious, with great strength the king Svachh Singh said to Krishna, “You have already killed fearlessly the ten Kings"
ਜਦੁਬੀਰਕੀਓਰਤੇਤੀਰਚਲੈਬਰਖਾਜਿਮਸਾਵਨਕੇਘਨਮੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਵਲੋਂ (ਇੰਜ) ਤੀਰ ਚਲੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਵਣ ਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਰਖਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਰਪਉਨਕੇਜੋਰਲਗੇਨਟਰਿਓਗਿਰਿਜਿਉਥਿਰੁਠਾਢੋਰਹਿਯੋਰਨਮੈ॥੧੨੭੮॥
ਉਹ (ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ) ਤੀਰ ਰੂਪ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਲਗਣ (ਚਲਣ) ਨਾਲ ਟਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਥਿਰ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੭੮॥
From the side of Krishna, the arrows were being showered like the raining clouds of the month of Sawan, but the king Svachh Singh did not even move slightly by the swiftness of arrows and resisted in the battlefield like a mountain.1278.

(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਯਾਦਵ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇੰਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੰਭ (ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ)।
The king fought with the Yadavas like Indra with Jambhasura
ਅਚਲਰਹਿਯੋਤਿਹਠਉਰਨ੍ਰਿਪਜਿਉਰਨਮੈਰਨਖੰਭ॥੧੨੭੯॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਉਤੇ ਅਚਲ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ 'ਰਣਖੰਭਾ' (ਗਡਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧੨੭੯॥
The king stood stable in the battlefield like a column.1279.

ਜਿਉਨਹਲੈਗਿਰਿਕੰਚਨਕੋਅਤਿਹਾਥਨਕੋਬਲਕੋਊਕਰੈ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਹਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਹੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਲਗਾਏ।
ਅਰੁਜਿਉਧ੍ਰੂਲੋਕਚਲੈਨਕਹੂੰਸਿਵਮੂਰਤਿਜਿਉਕਬਹੂੰਨਚਰੈ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਧ੍ਰੂਹ ਲੋਕ ਕਦੇ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਕਦੇ ਹਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
Just as the Sumeru mountain is not moved with the strength of the elephants, just as the abode of Dhurva remains firm and the portrait of Shiva does not eat anything
ਬਰਜਿਉਨਸਤੀਸਤਿਛਾਡਿਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਿਜਿਉਸਿਧਜੋਗਮੈਧ੍ਯਾਨਧਰੈ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਸਤੀ ਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਬ੍ਰਤ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛਡਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਿੱਧਾਂ ਦਾ ਯੋਗ ਵਿਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਮਸ੍ਯਾਮਚਮੂੰਮਧਿਸਵਛਨਰੇਸਹਠੀਰਨਤੇਨਹੀਨੈਕੁਟਰੈ॥੧੨੮੦॥
ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਹਠੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ (ਡਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ) ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਡੋਲਦਾ ॥੧੨੮੦॥
Just as the faithful wife does not swerve from her chastity and the adepts ever remain absorbed in their meditation, in the same manner the persistent Svachh Singh is standing amidst the four divisions of the army of Krishna, standing quite steadily.1280.

ਫੇਰਿਤਿਨਕੋਪਿਕੈਅਯੋਧਨਮੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹਿਬੀਰਬਹੁਮਾਰੇਸਵਛਸਿੰਘਮਹਾਬਲਸੈ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Then the mighty Svachh Singh in great fury, killed many of the mighty warriors of the army of Krishna
ਅਤਿਰਥੀਸਤਿਮਹਾਰਥੀਜੁਗਸਤਿਤਹਾਸਿੰਧੁਰਹਜਾਰਹਨੇਸ੍ਯਾਮਜੂਕੇਦਲਸੈ॥
ਇਕ ਸੌ ਅਤਿ-ਰਥੀ, ਦੋ ਸੌ ਮਹਾ ਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਹਾਥੀ ਉਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
He killed seven great chariot-owners and fourteen supreme chariot-owners, he also killed thousands of elephants
ਘਨੇਬਾਜਮਾਰੇਰਨਿਪੈਦਲਸੰਘਾਰੇਭਈਰੁਧਰਰੰਗੀਨਭੂਮਿਲਹਰੈਉਛਲਸੈ॥
ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਦਲ (ਦਲ) ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਧਰਤੀ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਲਹੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਉਛਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
He killed many horses and soldiers on foot, the ground was dyed with blood and the waves of blood surged there
ਘਾਇਲਗਿਰੇਸੁਮਾਨੋਮਹਾਮਤਵਾਰੇਹ੍ਵੈਕੈਸੋਏਰੂਮੀਤਰੈਲਾਲਡਾਰਕੈਅਤਲਸੈ॥੧੨੮੧॥
ਘਾਇਲ ਡਿਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰੂਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਲਾਲ ਅਤਸਲਾਂ ਵਿਛਾ ਕੇ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੨੮੧॥
The wounded warriors fell down there, getting intoxicated and looked like those sleeping after sprinkling the pearls of blood.1281.

ਬਹੁਤਸੈਨਹਨਿਜਾਦਵੀਬਢਿਯੋਗਰਬਅਪਾਰ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਯਾਦਵੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਮਾਰਨ ਉਪਰੰਤ (ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ) ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ।
The pride of Svachh Singh was increased very much after killing a greater part of Yadava army
ਮਾਨੁਉਤਾਰਿਯੋਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਪ੍ਰਤਿਬੋਲਿਓਕੋਪਹਕਾਰਿ॥੧੨੮੨॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਉਤਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ ॥੧੨੮੨॥
He spoke egoistically with Krishna.1282.
ਕਹਾਭਯੋਜੋਭੂਪਦਸਮਾਰੇਸ੍ਯਾਮਰਿਸਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ! ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਉਮ੍ਰਿਗਬਨਤਿਨਭਛਕਰਲਰੇਨਹਰਿਸਮੁਹਾਇ॥੧੨੮੩॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਿਰਨ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਕੱਖ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ (ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਹੈ) ॥੧੨੮੩॥
“O Krishna! what, then, even if you have killed ten of the kings, it is just like this that the deer can eat the straws of the forest, but can’t confront the lion.”1283.
ਰਿਪੁਕੇਬਚਨਸੁਨੰਤਹੀਬੋਲੇਹਰਿਮੁਸਕਾਇ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਹਸ ਕੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੇ,
ਸਵਛਸਿੰਘਤੁਅਮਾਰਿਹੋਸ੍ਰਯਾਰਸਿੰਘਕੀਨਯਾਇ॥੧੨੮੪॥
ਹੇ ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਗਿਦੜ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਮਾਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੧੨੮੪॥
Hearing the words of the enemy, Krishna smiled and said, ”O Svachh Singh! I shall kill you just as a lion kills a jackal.”1284.

ਸਿੰਘਨਿਹਾਰਕੈਜਿਉਸਰਦੂਲਘਨੋਬਲਕੈਰਿਸਸਾਥਿਤਚਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬੱਬਰ ਸ਼ੇਰ, ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਘੂਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as a big lion, seeing a small lion, gets infuriated
ਜਿਉਗਜਰਾਜਲਖਿਯੋਬਨਮੈਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜਮਨੋਅਤਿਕੋਪਬਢਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਾਨੋ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੇ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
Just as seeing the king of elephants, the king of deer gets angry
ਜਿਉਚਿਤਵਾਮ੍ਰਿਗਪੇਖਕੈਦਉਰਤਸਵਛਨਰੇਸਪੈਤਿਉਹਰਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਿਤਰਾ ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Just as seeing the deer, the leopard falls upon them, in the same manner, Krishna fell upon Svachh Singh
ਪਉਨਕੇਗਉਨਤੇਆਗੇਚਲਿਯੋਹਰਿਕੋਰਥੁਦਾਰੁਕਐਸੇਧਵਾਯੋ॥੧੨੮੫॥
(ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਚਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਗ ਮਚਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਰਥਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਜਾਇਆ ॥੧੨੮੫॥
On this side, Daruk in order to leave behing the spped of the wind, drove away the chariot of Krishna.1285.
ਉਤਤੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਸਵਛਭਯੋਸਮੁਹੇਇਤਤੇਸੁਚਲਿਯੋਰਿਸਕੈਬਲਭਈਯਾ॥
ਉਧਰੋਂ ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਧਰੋ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚਲਿਆ।
From that side, Svachh Singh came forward and from this side, Krishna, the brother of Balram marched forward in anger
ਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਲਰੇਦੋਊਆਪਸਿਮੈਬਰਜੁਧੁਕਰਈਯਾ॥
ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ (ਆਦਿਕ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Both the warriors began to fight taking their bows, arrows and swords in their hands, both were enduring,
ਮਾਰਹੀਮਾਰਪੁਕਾਰਿਅਰੇਨਟਰੇਰਨਤੇਅਤਿਧੀਰਧਰਈਯਾ॥
'ਮਾਰ ਲੌ, ਮਾਰ ਲੌ' ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੜੇ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਭਜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਬਹੁਤ ਧੀਰਜ ਧਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Both of them shouted “Kill, Kill” but they kept resisting in front of each other and did not swerve even slightly
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਤੇਰਾਮਤੇਜਾਦਵਤੇਨਡਰਿਯੋਸੁਲਰਿਯੋਬਰਬੀਰਲਰਈਯਾ॥੧੨੮੬॥
(ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਪਾਸੋਂ, ਨਾ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਯਾਦਵ (ਸੈਨਾ) ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਕੜਾ ਯੋਧਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੮੬॥
Svachh Singh was neither feared Krishna nor Balram nor from any of the Yadavas.1286.

ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਚੁਕੇ, ਤਦੋਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕੀਹ ਕੀਤਾ?
ਖੜਗਧਾਰਿਸਿਰਸਤ੍ਰਕੋਮਾਰਿਜੁਦਾਕਰਿਦੀਨ॥੧੨੮੭॥
ਖੜਗ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਵਖ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੨੮੭॥
When he waged a dreadful war, Krishna severed his head from the trunk with the blow of his spear.1287.
ਸਵਛਸਿੰਘਜਬਮਾਰਿਯੋਸਮਰਸਿੰਘਕੀਓਕੋਪ॥
ਸ੍ਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਦ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦ ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
When Svachh Singh was killed, then Samar Singh was extremely enraged
ਨਹਭਾਜਿਯੋਲਖਿਸਮਰਕੋਰਹਿਯੋਸੁਦਿੜਪਗੁਰੋਪਿ॥੧੨੮੮॥
ਯੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਡਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ, ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੈਰ ਗਡ ਕੇ (ਖੜੋਤਾ) ਰਿਹਾ ॥੧੨੮੮॥
Seeing the war, hes resisted Krishna with firm feet.1288.

ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੂਰਮੇ (ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Taking his sword in his hand, that mighty warrior killed many warriors of Krishna
ਅਉਰਕਿਤੇਗਿਰੇਘਾਇਲਹ੍ਵੈਕਿਤਨੇਰਨਭੂਮਿਨਿਹਾਰਿਪਧਾਰੇ॥
ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਸ ਗਏ।
