ਜਿਉਬਰਖਾਰਿਤੁਕੇਸਮੈਦਉਰਪਰੇਅਰਿਰਾਇ॥੧੩੦੭॥
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਵੈਰੀ ਦਲ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਇੰਜ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਰਖਾ ਰੁਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੰਬਟ ਦੀਵੇ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੦੭॥
When Shakti Singh knocked down Karurdhvaja, the enemies began to run away for safety just like the people running hither and thither in order to save themselves from getting wet in the rain.1307.

(ਜਦ ਕ੍ਰੂਰਧੁਜਾ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ) ਕਾਕ ਧੁਜਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਿਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਹੋਇਆ।
Seeing his brother dead, Kakdhvaja in great rage came forward
ਦਾਤਕੀਏਕਈਜੋਜਨਲਉਗਿਰਿਸੋਤਿਹਆਪਨੋਰੂਪਬਨਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਕਈ ਯੋਜਨਾਂ ਤਕ ਦੰਦ ਲੰਬੇ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਰਗਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ।
He lengthened his teeth for several yojanas (a measure of distance) and magnified his body to the size of a mountain
ਰੋਮਕੀਏਤਰੁਸੇਤਨਮੈਕਰਿਆਯੁਧਲੈਰਨਿਭੂਮਹਿਆਯੋ॥
ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਰੋਮ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
He grew his hair like the trees and taking his weapons in his hand, he came in the battlefield
ਸ੍ਰੀਸਕਤੇਸਤਨ੍ਰਯੋਕਰਿਚਾਪਸੁਏਕਹੀਬਾਨਸਿਉਮਾਰਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥੧੩੦੮॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਖਿਚ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੩੦੮॥
Shakti Singh by pulling his bow, knocked him down with a single arrow only.1308.
ਦੈਤਚਮੂੰਪਤਿਠਾਢੋਹੁਤੋਤਿਹਕੋਬਰਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਊਪਰਿਧਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਥੇ ਇਕ) ਦੈਂਤ ਸੈਨਾ-ਪਤੀ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ।
The lord of the army of demons was standing there, he fell upon Shakti Singh in great rage
ਰਾਛਸਸੈਨਅਛੂਹਨਿਲੈਅਪਨੇਮਨਮੈਅਤਿਕੋਪਬਢਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਖਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਛੋਹਣੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾ ਲਿਆ।
He took the supreme division of his army alongwith him and marched forward in great ire
ਬਾਨਬਨਾਇਚਢਿਯੋਰਨਕੋਤਿਹਆਪਨਨਾਮੁਕੁਰੂਪਕਹਾਯੋ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਤਿਖੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਕੁਰੂਪ' ਅਖਵਾਇਆ।
The name of this incoming demon in the battlefield was Kurup
ਐਸੇਚਲਿਯੋਅਰਿਕੇਬਧਕੋਮਨੋਸਾਵਨਕੋਉਨਏਘਨੁਆਯੋ॥੧੩੦੯॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਵਣ (ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ) ਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਉਮਡ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੩੦੯॥
He moved forward to destroy the enemy like the clouds of Sawan.1309.
ਹੇਰਿਚਮੂੰਬਹੁਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੀਸਕਤੇਸਬਲੀਮਨਿਰੋਸਭਯੋਹੈ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ।
ਧੀਰਜਬਾਧਿਅਯੋਧਨਮਾਝਿਸਰਾਸਨਿਬਾਨਸੁਪਾਨਿਲਯੋਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਧੀਰਜ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਏ।
Seeing the four divisions of the army of his enemies, Shakti Singh was filled with ire, but with endurance in the battlefield, he took the bow and arrows in his hand
ਤ੍ਰਾਸਸਬੈਤਜਿਕੈਲਜਿਕੈਅਰਿਕੇਦਲਕੇਸਮੁਹੇਸੁਗਯੋਹੈ॥
ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
He went in front of the army of the enemy and seeing him, all began to run away
ਦਾਨਵਮੇਘਬਿਡਾਰਨਕੋਰਨਮੈਮਨੋਬੀਰਸਮੀਰਭਯੋਹੈ॥੧੩੧੦॥
ਦੈਂਤ (ਰੂਪ) ਬਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੰਡਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ (ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ) ਮਾਨੋ ਪੌਣ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੩੧੦॥
In order to destroy the clouds of demons, that warriors was looking like wind.1310.
ਅੰਤ੍ਰਧ੍ਯਾਨਕੁਰੂਪਭਯੋਨਭਮੈਤਿਹਜਾਇਕੈਬੈਨਉਚਾਰੇ॥
'ਕੁਰੂਪ' (ਦੈਂਤ) ਲੁਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬੋਲ ਉਚਾਰੇ
ਜੈਹੋਕਹਾਹਮਤੇਭਜਿਕੈਗਜਬਾਜਅਨੇਕਅਕਾਸਤੇਡਾਰੇ॥
ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ; (ਫਿਰ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੇਕ ਹਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Kurup disappeared and manifesting himself in the sky, he said, “O Shakti Singh! where will you go to save yourself?” Saying this he showered elephants, horses, trees,

ਬ੍ਰਿਛ, ਪੱਥਰ, ਸਿਲਾਂ, ਰਥ, ਸ਼ੇਰ, ਪਰਬਤ, ਰਿਛ ਅਤੇ ਵਡ-ਆਕਾਰੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਸੱਪ (ਆਦਿਕ)
Stones, rocks, chariots, lions, mountains, bears and black cobras
ਆਨਿਪਰੇਰਨਭੂਮਿਮੈਜੋਰਸੋਭੂਪਬਚਿਓਸਿਗਰੇਦਬਿਮਾਰੇ॥੧੩੧੧॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਰਾਜਾ ਬਚਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੧੧॥
All of them fell on the earth under whom all except Shakti Singh were crushed and killed.1311.
ਜੇਤਕਡਾਰਿਦਏਨ੍ਰਿਪਪੈਗਿਰਿਤੇਤਕਬਾਨਨਸਾਥਨਿਵਾਰੇ॥
(ਦੈਂਤ ਨੇ) ਜਿੰਨੇ ਕੁ ਪਰਬਤ ਰਾਜਾ (ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ) ਉਪਰ ਸੁਟੇ ਹਨ, ਉਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੇਰਜਨੀਚਰਠਾਢੇਹੁਤੇਸਕਤੇਸਬਲੀਤਿਹਓਰਿਪਧਾਰੇ॥
ਜਿਧਰ ਦੈਂਤ ('ਰਜਨੀਚਰ') ਖੜੋਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਉਧਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ।
The king (Shakti Singh) intercepted with his arrows all the things thrown upon him and that mighty warrior with his strength reached there, where the demons were standing
ਪਾਨਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਲਏਬਲਵਾਨਸੁਘਾਇਲਏਕਕਰੇਇਕਮਾਰੇ॥
(ਉਸ) ਬਲਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕਿਤਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਇਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
This mighty warrior, taking his sword in his hand, wounded some of them and killed many of them
ਦੈਤਚਮੂੰਨਬਸਾਤਕਛੂਅਪਨੇਛਲਛਿਦ੍ਰਨਿਕੈਸਬਹਾਰੇ॥੧੩੧੨॥
ਦੈਂਤ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ (ਉਸ ਉਤੇ) ਕੋਈ ਵਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ, ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਵਲ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੧੨॥
The army of demons could not do anything worthwhile an dit was being defeated on account of its deceptive methods/1312.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਨੇਬਹੁਰੋਧਨੁਬਾਨਲਯੋਰਿਸਸਾਥਕੁਰੂਪਕੇਬੀਰਹਨੇ॥
ਰਾਜਾ (ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼-ਬਾਣ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕੁਰੂਪ (ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ) ਵਿਚ (ਬਾਣ) ਮਾਰੇ।
The king, taking his bow and arrows in his hands, made Kurup as his target,
ਜੇਊਜੀਵਤਥੇਕਰਿਆਯੁਧਲੈਅਰਰਾਇਪਰੇਬਰਬੀਰਘਨੇ॥
ਜੋ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੂਰਮੇ ਅਰੜਾ ਕੇ (ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ) ਉਪਰ ਆ ਪਏ।
Who was alive and carrying weapons in his hands ,many warriors writhed
ਜੇਊਆਨਿਲਰੇਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਕਰੇਰੁਪਿਠਾਢੇਲਰੇਕੋਊਸ੍ਰਉਨਸਨੇ॥
ਜੋ ਵੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੜੇ ਸਨ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਡਟ ਕੇ ਲੜੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਹੂ ਲੁਹਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Whosoever come forward to fight, became lifeless and many were seen standing and saturated with blood
ਮਨਿਯੌਉਪਮਾਉਪਜੀਰਿਤੁਰਾਜਸਮੈਦ੍ਰੁਮਕਿੰਸਕਲਾਲਬਨੇ॥੧੩੧੩॥
(ਇਸ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਕਵੀ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ, ਮਾਨੋ ਬਸੰਤ ('ਰਿਤੁਰਾਜ') ਰੁਤ ਵਿਚ ਕੇਸੂ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਲਾਲ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੩੧੩॥
They appeared moving like the red Kesu flowers in spring season.1313.

ਅਸੁਰਸੈਨਮੈਭਟਪ੍ਰਬਲਤੇਬਹੁਦਏਸੰਘਾਰ॥੧੩੧੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸਨ, ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੧੪॥
In that war, holding his weapons, Shakti Singh killed many of the warriors of the army of demons.1314.

ਕੁਰੂਪ ਦੈਂਤ ਦਾ 'ਬਿਕ੍ਰਤਾਨਨ' ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਭਰਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਈ।
ਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਰਨਮੈਤਿਹਕੋਮਨਮੈਅਰਿਕੇਬਧਬੇਕੋਚਹਿਓ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਚਾਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ।
Vikartanan, the brother of Kurup caught hold of his sword in his hand in great rage, and he made an effort to kill the enemy
ਸੁਧਵਾਇਕੈਸ੍ਯੰਦਨਆਯੋਤਹਾਨਟਰਿਓਵਹਜੁਧਹੀਕੋਉਮਹਿਓ॥
ਉਹ ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਥੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੀ ਉਮੰਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਥੋਂ ਨਾ ਹਟਿਆ।
ਸੁਨਿਰੇਸਕਤੇਸਸੰਭਾਰਿਸੰਘਾਰਤਹੋਤੁਮਕੋਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਓ॥੧੩੧੫॥
(ਅਤੇ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ, ਹੇ ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ! ਸੁਣ, ਸੰਭਲ ਜਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਹੁਣੇ) ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੩੧੫॥
Getting his chariot driven, with zeal for war in his mind, he reached there and said, “O king! hold up your sword, I am going to kill you.”1315.

ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਬਰਛੀ ਚੁਕ ਲਈ।
ਚਪਲਾਸੀਰਵਿਕਿਰਨਸੀਅਰਿਤਕਿਦਈਚਲਾਇ॥੧੩੧੬॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਕ ਕੇ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਵਰਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਨ ਜਿਹੀ (ਬਰਛੀ ਨੂੰ) ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੩੧੬॥
Hearing these words Shakti Singh took his Shakti (the powerful weapon) in his hand and looking at the enemy, he discharged that Shakti, swift like the sunrays.1316.

(ਉਹ ਬਰਛੀ) ਬਿਕ੍ਰਤਾਨਨ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਲਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
The Shakti piercing the heart of Vikartanan, peretrated to the other side of the body
ਜਿਹਊਪਰਿਕੰਚਨਕੀਸਬਆਕ੍ਰਿਤਹੈਸਬਹੀਸੋਊਲੋਹਮਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਉਪਰ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੋਹਮਈ ਹੈ।
The body on which there were golden figures,
ਲਸਕੈਉਰਿਰਾਕਸਕੇਮਧਯੌਉਪਮਾਤਿਹਕੀਕਬਿਭਾਖਦਈ॥
ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ (ਲਗੀ ਹੋਈ) ਇੰਜ ਲਿਸ਼ਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹੀ ਹੈ,
It was all dyed with blood
ਮਨੋਰਾਹੁਬਿਚਾਰਕੈਪੂਰਬਬੈਰਕੋਸੂਰਜਕੀਕਰਿਲੀਲਲਈ॥੧੩੧੭॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਹੂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਬਲਾ ਵੈਰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ, ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੩੧੭॥
That Shakti driven in the body looked like the sun swallowed by Rahu on remembering its enmity.1317.
