ਮੁਖਸੋਨਰਹਾਡਨਚਾਬਤਹੈਪੁਨਿਦਾਤਸੇਦਾਤਬਜੇਤਿਨਕੇ॥
(ਜੋ) ਮੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਡੀਆਂ ਚਬਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੰਦ ਵਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
They were crushing the human bones in their mouths and their teeth were clattering
ਸਰਸ੍ਰਉਨਤਕੇਅਖੀਆਂਜਿਨਕੀਸੰਗਕੌਨਭਿਰੈਬਲਕੈਇਨਕੇ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਲਹੂ ਵਾਂਗ ਲਾਲ ਹਨ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਕੌਣ ਲੜ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Their eyes were like the sea of blood
ਸਰਚਾਪਚਢਾਇਕੈਰੈਨਫਿਰੈਸਬਕਾਮਕਰੈਨਿਤਪਾਪਨਕੇ॥੧੪੬੪॥
(ਜੋ) ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਉਤੇ ਤੀਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੬੪॥
Who could fight with them? They were the wielders of bows and arrows, roaming throughout the nights and always absorbed in vicious acts.1464.
ਧਾਇਪਰੇਮਿਲਕੈਉਤਰਾਛਸਭੂਪਇਤੇਥਿਰਠਾਢੋਰਹਿਓਹੈ॥
ਉਧਰੋਂ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਟੁਟ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਧਰੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਚਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਹੈ।
From that side the demons fell upon him and from this side the king stood firmly peacefully
ਡਾਢਸੁਕੈਅਪਨੇਮਨਕੋਰਿਸਿਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੋਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਓਹੈ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Then, strengthening his mind and in rage, he said this to the enemies:
ਆਜਸਬੈਹਨਿਹੋਰਨਮੈਕਹਿਯੌਬਤੀਯਾਧਨੁਬਾਨਗਹਿਓਹੈ॥
ਅਜ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਣ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
“Today I shall knock down all of you,” saying this, he held up his bow and arrows
ਯੌਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੋਅਤਿਧੀਰਜਪੇਖਕੈਦਾਨਵਕੋਦਲਰੀਝਿਰਹਿਓਹੈ॥੧੪੬੫॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਤਿ ਧੀਰਜਵਾਨ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੬੫॥
Seeing the endurance of the king Kharag Singh, the army of demons felt pleased.1465.
ਤਾਨਿਕਮਾਨਮਹਾਬਲਵਾਨਸੁਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੋਬਹੁਬਾਨਚਲਾਏ॥
ਮਹਾਨ ਬਲਵਾਨ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਕਮਾਨ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾਏ ਹਨ।
Pulling his bow, that mighty warrior showered his arrows on the enemies
ਏਕਨਕੀਭੁਜਕਾਟਿਦਈਰਿਸਿਏਕਨਕੇਉਰਮੈਸਰਲਾਏ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਿੱਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰੇ ਹਨ।
He chopped someone’s arm and in his rage, he discharged his arrow on someone’s chest
ਘਾਇਲਏਕਗਿਰੇਰਨਮੋਲਖਿਕਾਇਰਛਾਡਿਕੈਖੇਤਪਰਾਏ॥
ਕਈ ਇਕ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਾਇਰ ਲੋਕ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਖਿਸਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Someone, having been wounded fell down in the battlefield and some coward seeing the dreadful war ran away
ਏਕਮਹਾਬਲਵੰਤਦਯੰਤਰਹੇਥਿਰਹ੍ਵੈਤਿਨਬੈਨਸੁਨਾਏ॥੧੪੬੬॥
ਕਈ ਇਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਦੈਂਤ ਅਚਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਬੋਲ ਕਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੬੬॥
Only one powerful demon survived there, who stabilising himself said to the king,1466
ਕਾਹੇਕੋਜੂਝਕਰੇਸੁਨਰੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਤੋਹੂਕੋਜੀਵਤਜਾਨਨਦੈਹੈ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜੇ! ਸੁਣ, (ਤੂੰ) ਕਿਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਅਸੀਂ) ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ।
“O king! why are you fighting? We will not let you go alive
ਦੀਰਘਦੇਹਸਲੋਨੀਸੀਮੂਰਤਿਤੋਸਮਭਛਕਹਾਹਮਪੈਹੈ॥
(ਤੇਰੀ) ਲੰਬੀ ਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਲੋਣੀ ਸੂਰਤ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।
Your body is long and elegant, where shall we get such food?
ਤੂਨਹੀਜਾਨਤਹੈਸੁਨਰੇਸਠਤੋਕਹੁਦਾਤਨਸਾਥਚਬੈਹੈ॥
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਸੁਣ, ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ, (ਅਸੀਂ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਚਬ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ।
“O fool! you do now know that we shall chew you with our teeth
ਤੋਹੀਕੇਮਾਸਕੇਖੰਡਨਖੰਡਕੈਪਾਵਕਬਾਨਮੈਭੁੰਜਕੈਖੈਹੈ॥੧੪੬੭॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੋਟੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਅਗ ਵਿਚ ਭੁੰਨ ਕੇ ਖਾਵਾਂਗੇ ॥੧੪੬੭॥
We shall roast the bits of your flesh with the fire of our arrows and devour them.”1467.

ਯੌਸੁਨਕੈਤਿਹਬੈਨਕੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਬੋਲਿਓਰਿਸਖਾਇ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ,
ਜੋਹਮਤੇਭਜਿਜਾਇਤਿਹਮਾਤਾਦੂਧਅਪਾਇ॥੧੪੬੮॥
ਜੋ (ਕੋਈ) ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਜਾਏਗਾ, ਉਸ ਲਈ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਹਰਾਮ ('ਅਪਾਇ') ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੧੪੬੮॥
Hearing these words, the king spoke in anger, “He, who goes away safe from me, may consider that he has released himself from the bondage of milk of his mother.”1468.
ਏਕੁਬੈਨਸੁਨਿਦਾਨਵੀਸੈਨਪਰੀਸਬਧਾਇ॥
(ਇਹ) ਇਕੋ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੈਂਤ ਸੈਨਾ (ਰਾਜੇ ਉਤੇ) ਟੁਟ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਈ
ਚਹੂੰਓਰਘੇਰਿਓਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਖੇਤਬਾਰਕੀਨਿਆਇ॥੧੪੬੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤ ਦੀ ਵਾੜ ਵਾਂਗ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੪੬੯॥
Hearing these words, the demon army fell upon the king and besieged him all the four sides like the fence of the field.1469.

ਅਸੁਰਨਘੇਰਖੜਗਸਿੰਘਲੀਨੋ॥
(ਜਦੋਂ) ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ,
ਤਬਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੋਪਘਨੋਮਨਿਕੀਨੋ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
When the demons besieged the king, who became extremely enraged in his mind
ਧਨੁਖਬਾਨਕਰਬੀਚਸੰਭਾਰੇ॥
ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ
