ਇਹਰੁਦ੍ਰਦਸਾਸਬਸੈਨਨਿਹਾਰੀ॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਹਾਲਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਵੇਖੀ,
ਬਰਛੀਤਬਹੀਸਿਵਪੂਤਸੰਭਾਰੀ॥੧੫੧੦॥
ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਗਣੇਸ਼) ਨੇ ਬਰਛੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਈ ॥੧੫੧੦॥
When the army saw this condition of Shiva, then Ganesh, the son of Shiva, took the lance in his hand.1510.
ਜਬਕਰਬੀਚਸਕਤਿਕੋਲਇਓ॥
ਜਦੋਂ (ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਨੇ) ਬਰਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ
ਤਬਆਇਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਕੇਸਾਮੁਹਿਭਇਓ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਡਟਿਆ
ਕਰਕੇਬਲਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਓਰਚਲਾਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ (ਪੂਰੇ) ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਪਰ (ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ) ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਬਰਛੀਨਹੀਮਾਨੋਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਠਾਈ॥੧੫੧੧॥
(ਉਹ) ਬਰਛੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮਾਨੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ ਭੇਜੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੧੧॥
Taking the Shakti (lance) in his hand he came in front of the king and with the full force of his hand, he threw it towards the king in such a way that it was not a lance, but death itself.1511.

ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਬਰਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਖੇ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਬਾਣ) ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਹਿਕ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰਿਆ
On coming, the king intercepted the lance and inflicted a sharp arrow in the heart of the enemy
ਸੋਸਰਸੋਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਤਿਹਬਾਹਨਕਉਪ੍ਰਤਿਅੰਗਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਓ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਹਨ (ਚੂਹੇ) ਦੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਅੰਗ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
That arrow attacked the vehicle of Ganesh
ਏਕਗਨੇਸਲਿਲਾਟਬਿਖੈਸਰਲਾਗਰਹਿਓਤਿਰਛੋਛਬਿਧਾਰਿਓ॥
ਇਕ ਤੀਰ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜੋ ਟੇਢਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲਗਿਆ। (ਉਹ ਤੀਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ,
ਮਾਨਬਢਿਯੋਗਜਆਨਨਦੀਹਮਨੋਸਰਅੰਕੁਸਸਾਥਿਉਤਾਰਿਓ॥੧੫੧੨॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਬਾਣ ਰੂਪ ਅੰਕੁਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਮਦ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੧੨॥
The second arrow his slantingly on the forehead of Ganesh and it appeared like the arrow-like goad stuck in the forehead of an elephant.1512.
ਚੇਤਭਯੋਚਢਿਬਾਹਨਪੈਸਿਵਲੈਧਨੁਬਾਨਚਲਾਇਦਯੋਹੈ॥
ਸਚੇਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲਦ ਉਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸੋਸਰਤੀਛਨਹੈਅਤਿਹੀਇਹਭੂਪਤਿਕੇਉਰਿਲਾਗਗਯੋਹੈ॥
ਉਹ ਬਾਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਿਖਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਲਗਿਆ।
On this side, regaining consciousness, mounting on his vehicle Shiva discharged the arrow from his bow and he inflicted an extremely sharp arrow in the heart of the king
ਫੂਲਗਯੋਜੀਅਜਾਨਨਰੇਸਹਨਿਯੋਨਹੀਰੰਚਕਤ੍ਰਾਸਭਯੋਹੈ॥
ਰਾਜਾ (ਬਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਵਜਿਆ) ਜਾਣ ਕੇ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਫੁਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਡਰ ਲਗਾ ਹੈ।
Shiva was pleased to think that the king had been killed, but the king was not even slightly frightened by the impact of this arrow
ਚਾਪਤਨਾਇਲੀਯੋਕਰਮੈਸੁਨਿਖੰਗਤੇਬਾਨਨਿਕਾਸਲਯੋਹੈ॥੧੫੧੩॥
(ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਕਸ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭੱਥੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤੀਰ ਕਢ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੧੩॥
The king took out an arrow from his quiver and pulled his bow.1513.

ਤਦ ਉਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਬਾਣ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਤਕ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ
ਲਖਿਮਾਰਿਓਸਿਵਉਰਬਿਖੈਅਰਿਬਧਹਿਤਹੀਯਜਾਨਿ॥੧੫੧੪॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਣਾ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੫੧੪॥
The king, making Shiva his target, pulled his bow upto his ear, discharged an arrow towards his heart in order to kill him certainly.1514.

ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰਿਆ
ਇਹਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਸਿਵਸੈਨਨਿਹਾਰਿਓ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
When he discharged his arrow towards the heart of Shiva and at the same time, that mighty one looked towards the army of Shiva
ਕਾਰਤਕੇਯਨਿਜਦਲੁਲੈਧਾਇਓ॥
(ਤਦ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਕਾਰਤਿਕੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਧਾਵਾ ਬੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਪੁਨਿਗਨੇਸਮਨਕੋਪਬਢਾਇਓ॥੧੫੧੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੫੧੫॥
Kartikeya was coming speedily alongwith his army and the ganas of Ganesh were getting extremely infuriated.1515.

ਆਵਤਹੀਦੁਹਕੋਲਖਿਭੂਪਤਿਜੀਅਪੁਨੇਅਤਿਕ੍ਰੋਧਬਢਾਇਓ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾਇਆ।
ਪਉਰਖਕੈਭੁਜਦੰਡਨਕੋਸਿਖਿਬਾਹਨਕੋਇਕੁਬਾਨਲਗਾਇਓ॥
ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਬਾਣ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾਰਤਿਕੇ ('ਸਿਖਿ ਬਾਹਨ', ਮੋਰ ਦੀ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਵਾਲਾ) ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
Seeing both of them coming, the king was extremely enraged in his mind and with the strength of his arms, he struck an arrow on their vehicle
ਅਉਰਜਿਤੋਗਨਕੋਦਲੁਆਵਤਸੋਛਿਨਮੈਜਮਧਾਮਿਪਠਾਇਓ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਗਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛਿਣ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਯਮ ਲੋਕ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He despatched in an instant the army of ganas to the abode of Yama
ਆਇਖੜਾਨਨਕੋਜਬਹੀਗਜਆਨਨਛਾਡਿਕੈਖੇਤਪਰਾਇਓ॥੧੫੧੬॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਾਰਤਿਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ (ਬਾਣ ਵਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ) ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੫੧੬॥
Seeing the king advancing towards Kartikeya, Ganesha also abandoned the battlefield and fled away.1516.
ਮੋਦਭਯੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੇਮਨਮੈਜਬਹੀਸਿਵਕੋਦਲੁਮਾਰਿਭਜਾਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਭਜਾਇਆ (ਤਾਂ) ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਹੋਈ (ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਓਏ!
ਕਾਹੇਕਉਭਾਜਤਰੇਡਰਕੈਜਿਨਿਭਾਜਹੁਇਉਤਿਹਟੇਰਿਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਭਜਦੇ ਹੋ, ਨਾ ਭਜੋ; ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ।
Destroying and forcing the army of Shiva to run away, the king was pleased in his mind and said loudly, “Why all of you are running away in fear?”
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੇਖੜਗੇਸਤਬੈਅਪੁਨੇਕਰਿਲੈਬਰਸੰਖਬਜਾਯੋ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਖ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਜਾਇਆ
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰਿਸਬੈਤਬਹੀਮਨੋਅੰਤਕਰੂਪਕੀਏਰਨਿਆਯੋ॥੧੫੧੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ ਯਮਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੧੭॥
Kharag Singh then took his conch in his hand and blew it and he appeared as Yama, carrying his weapons in the battlefied.1517.
ਟੇਰਸੁਨੇਸਬਫੇਰਿਫਿਰੇਕਰਿਲੈਕਰਵਾਰਨਕੋਪਹੁਇਧਾਏ॥
ਲਲਕਾਰਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਿਰ ਪਰਤ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਧਾਵਾ ਬੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When his challenge was heard, then carrying their swords in their hands, the warriors came back to fight
ਲਾਜਭਰੇਸੁਟਰੇਨਡਰੇਤਿਨਹੂੰਮਿਲਿਕੈਸਬਸੰਖਬਜਾਏ॥
ਲਾਜ ਦੇ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਾ ਡਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਪਿਛੇ ਹਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸੰਖ ਵਜਾਏ ਹਨ।
Though they were definitely feeling ashamed, but now they stood firmly and fearlessly and they all blew their conches together
ਮਾਰਹੀਮਾਰਪੁਕਾਰਿਪਰੇਲਲਕਾਰਿਕਹੈਅਰੇਤੈਬਹੁਘਾਏ॥
ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ ਦਾ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੰਗਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਓਏ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
With the shouts of “kill, kill” they challenged and said, “O king! you have killed many people
ਮਾਰਤਹੈਅਬਤੋਹਿਨਛਾਡਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਸਰਓਘਚਲਾਏ॥੧੫੧੮॥
(ਅਸੀਂ) ਹੁਣ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਛਡਾਂਗੇ। ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧੫੧੮॥
Now we shall not leave you, we shall kill you,” saying this, they discharged volleys of arrows.1518.
ਜਬਆਨਿਨਿਦਾਨਕੀਮਾਰੁਮਚੀਤਬਹੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਆਪਨੇਸਸਤ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰੇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਅੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਮੱਚੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਏ।
ਖਗਗਦਾਬਰਛੀਜਮਧਾਰਸੁਲੈਕਰਵਾਰਹੀਸਤ੍ਰੁਪਚਾਰੇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਖੰਡਾ, ਗਦਾ, ਬਰਛੀ, ਜਮਧਾੜ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਲਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
When there was dreadful destruction, the king held up his weapons and carrying the dagger, mace, lance, axe and sword in his hands, he challenged the enemy
ਪਾਨਿਲੀਓਧਨੁਬਾਨਸੰਭਾਰਿਨਿਹਾਰਿਕਈਅਰਿਕੋਟਿਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਈ ਕਰੋੜ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
Taking his bow and arrows in his hands and looking here and there, he killed many enemies
ਭੂਪਨਮੋਰਤਿਸੰਘਰਤੇਮੁਖਅੰਤਕੋਅੰਤਕਸੇਭਟਹਾਰੇ॥੧੫੧੯॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਯਮਰਾਜ ਵਰਗੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੧੯॥
The faces of the warriors fighting with the king became red and ultimately they were all defeated.1519.
ਲੈਅਪੁਨੇਸਿਵਪਾਨਿਸਰਾਸਨਜੀਅਪੁਨੇਅਤਿਕੋਪਬਢਾਯੋ॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Taking his bow and arrows in his hands, Shiva was extremely enraged
ਭੂਪਤਿਕੋਚਿਤਿਯੋਚਿਤਮੈਬਧਬਾਹਨਆਪੁਨਕੋਸੁਧਵਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਬਲਦ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
He got his vehicle driven towards the king with the motive of killing him, he shouted loudly to the king
ਮਾਰਤਹੋਅਬਯਾਰਨਮੈਕਹਿਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਉਇਹਭਾਤਿਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
' (ਮੈਂ) ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ', ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ।
“I am just now going to kill you” and saying thus, he raised the dreadful sound of his conch
ਯੌਕਹਿਨਾਦਬਜਾਵਤਭਯੋਮਨੋਅੰਤਭਯੋਪਰਲੈਘਨਆਯੋ॥੧੫੨੦॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸੰਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਮਾਨੋ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋ ਦਾ ਬਦਲ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੨੦॥
It appeared that the clouds were thundering on the doomsday.1520.
ਨਾਦਸੁਨਾਦਰਹਿਓਭਰਪੂਰਸੁਨਿਯੋਪੁਰਹੂਤਮਹਾਬਿਸਮਾਯੋ॥
ਨਾਦ ਦੀ ਗੂੰਜ (ਖਗੋਲ ਵਿਚ) ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ। (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਇੰਦਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
That terrible sound pervaded the whole universe and even Indra was wonder-struck on listening to it
ਸਾਤਸਮੁਦ੍ਰਨਦੀਨਦਅਉਸਰਬਿੰਧਸੁਮੇਰਮਹਾਗਰਜਾਯੋ॥
