ਰੁਦ੍ਰਕੇਆਨਨਕੋਅਵਿਲੋਕਕੈਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਬਾਤਸੁਨਾਈ॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਲ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਈ,
ਕਾਭਯੋਜੋਜੁਗੀਯਾਕਰਿਲੈਕਰਡਿੰਭਕੇਕਾਰਨਨਾਦਬਜਾਈ॥
ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੇ ਪਾਖੰਡ ('ਡਿੰਭ') ਵਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ (ਸੰਖ ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਨਾਦ ਵਜਾਇਆ ਹੈ;
Seeing towards Rudra, the king said within his hearing, “O Yogi! what difference your deceit of raising the sound will make?
ਤੰਦੁਲਮਾਗਨਹੈਤੁਯਕਾਰਜਮੈਨਡਰੋਤੁਹਿਚਾਪਚਢਾਈ॥
(ਘਰ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ) ਚਾਵਲ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।
“You engage yourself in begging for the alms of rice, I do not fear your archery
ਜੂਝਬੋਕਾਮਹੈਛਤ੍ਰਿਨਕੋਕਛੁਜੋਗਿਨਕੋਨਹੀਕਾਮਲਰਾਈ॥੧੫੨੨॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਜੂਝਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਛਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਲੜਾਈ ਕਰਨਾ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੨੨॥
Only the Kshatrieas are meant to fight, this is not task of Yogis.”1522.
ਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਬਤੀਯਾਸਿਵਸੋਂਨ੍ਰਿਪਪਾਨਬਿਖੈਰਿਸਿਖੜਗਬਡੋਲੈ॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ, ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਲਈ।
Saying this, the king took out his large dagger and in anger hurled it on the body of Shiva
ਮਾਰਤਭੇਹਰਕੇਤਨਮੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਜੀਯਕੋਪਮਹਾਕੈ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਫਿਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
After striking the blow of the dagger on the body of Shiva, the king roaring like the sea challenged him
ਘਾਉਕੈਸੁੰਭਕੈਗਾਤਬਿਖੈਇਮਬੋਲਿਉਠਿਓਹਸਿਸਿੰਧਜਰਾਜੈ॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਘਾਉ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ (ਰਾਜਾ) ਹਸ ਕੇ ਬੋਲ ਉਠਿਆ, 'ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਦੀ ਜੈ'।
Shiva fell down with the blow of the dagger
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਗਿਰਿਓਸਿਰਮਾਲਕਹੂੰਕਹੂੰਬੈਲਗਿਰਿਓਗਿਰਿਯੋਸੂਲਕਹੂੰਹ੍ਵੈ॥੧੫੨੩॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ, ਸਿਰ ਦੀ ਰੁੰਡ-ਮਾਲਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਜਾ ਪਈ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਦ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਜਾ ਡਿਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ ॥੧੫੨੩॥
His necklace of skulls slipped and fell down, somewhere his bull fell down and somewhere his trident fell down.1523.
ਘੇਰਲੀਯੋਮਿਲਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਉਜਬਹੀਸਿਵਕੇਦਲਕੋਪਕਰਿਓਹੈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ (ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਆਗੇਹ੍ਵੈਭੂਪਅਯੋਧਨਮੈਦਿਢਠਾਢੋਰਹਿਓਨਹੀਪੈਗਟਰਿਓਹੈ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੜੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਕਦਮ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Now the army of Shiva, in fury, surrounded the king, but the king also remained stable in the battlefield and did not retrace even one step
ਤਾਲਜਹਾਰਥਰੂਖਧੁਜਾਭਟਪੰਛਨਸਿਉਰਨਬਾਗਭਰਿਓਹੈ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਰੂਪ ਬਾਗ ਰਥ ਰੂਪ ਤਾਲਾਬ, ਝੰਡੇ ਰੂਪ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਰੂਪ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
In that garden of the battlefield, the chariots look small tanks, the banners like trees and the warriors like birds
ਭਾਗਗਏਗਨਜੈਸੇਬਿਹੰਗਮਨੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਟੂਟਕੈਬਾਜਪਰਿਓਹੈ॥੧੫੨੪॥
(ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ) ਗਣ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਰੂਪ ਬਾਜ਼ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਟੁਟ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੨੪॥
The ganas of Shiva as birds appears to fly away when the king as falcon pounces upon them.1524.

ਏਸਿਵਕੇਗਨਥਿਰੁਰਹੇਅਤਿਮਨਕੋਪਬਢਾਇ॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹ ਗਣ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸਥਿਰ ਰਹੇ
Some ganas of Shiva remained stable
ਗਨਛਉਨਾਗਨਰਾਜਸ੍ਰੀਮਹਾਬੀਰਮਨਰਾਇ॥੧੫੨੫॥
ਹਨਛੌਣਾ ਗਣ, ਰਾਜਸ੍ਰੀ ਗਣ, ਮਹਾਬੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਰਾਇ ॥੧੫੨੫॥
These ganas were Ganchhabi, Ganraj, Mahavir and Monroy.1525.

ਬੀਰਨਕੀਮਨਿਸ੍ਰੀਗਨਰਾਇਮਹਾਬਰਬੀਰਫਿਰਿਓਗਨਛਉਨਾ॥
ਵੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਵੀਰ ਮਨ ਰਾਇ ਗਣ, ਮਹਾਬੀਰ ਗਣ ਅਤੇ ਛੌਣਾ ਗਣ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਤ ਆਏ ਹਨ।
From the warriors came back Ganraj, Mahavir and Ganchhabi
ਲੋਹਤਨੈਨਚਲਿਓਸਿਸਹੋਤਕੀਓਗਹਿਜਾਜਮਰਾਜਖਿਲਉਨਾ॥
ਤਪੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਹੇ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਲਾਲ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ (ਛੌਣਾ ਗਣ) ਨੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਵੀ ਯਮਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਡੌਣਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।
They returned with red eyes because they were so powerful that they had made Yama only a toy
ਆਵਤਭੂਪਬਿਲੋਕਕੈਸਤ੍ਰਨਆਪਕੀਯੋਮਨਰੰਚਕਭਉਨਾ॥
ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ।
The king seeing the enemies coming did not become fearful even slightly
ਮਾਰਿਲਏਛਿਨਮੈਗਨਕੋਗਨਜੁਧਕੀਓਕਿਕੀਓਕਛੁਟਉਨਾ॥੧੫੨੬॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਗਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਿਆ, (ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ, ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਟੂਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੨੬॥
While killing the ganas in the battlefield he felt these ganas were not actually fighting and instead they were casting spells.1526.
