ਜਿਹਕੁਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਨ੍ਰਿਪਓਰਿਨਿਹਾਰਿਓ॥
ਤਦ ਹੀ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੈਰੀ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Then the king killed the enemy with his arrow
ਪੁਨਿਗਨੇਸਕੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਲਲਕਾਰਿਓ॥
ਫਿਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਲਲਕਾਰਿਆ,
ਤ੍ਰਸਤਭਯੋਤਜਿਜੁਧਪਧਾਰਿਓ॥੧੫੨੭॥
(ਉਹ) ਡਰ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭਜ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੫੨੭॥
The army of the ganas looked towards him with malice, the king challenged Ganesh again, who being frightened ran away from the field.1527.
ਜਬਸਿਵਜੂਕਛੁਸੰਗਿਆਪਾਈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸੁਰਤ ਪਰਤੀ
ਭਾਜਿਗਯੋਤਜਦਈਲਰਾਈ॥
(ਤਾਂ ਉਹ) ਲੜਾਈ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਿਆ।
The Shiva became somewhat conscious and he fled away from the war-arena
ਅਉਰਸਗਲਛਡਕੈਗਨਭਾਗੇ॥
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਣ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
ਐਸੋਕੋਭਟਆਵੈਆਗੇ॥੧੫੨੮॥
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੌਣ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੈ, (ਜੋ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ) ਅਗੇ ਆਵੇ ॥੧੫੨੮॥
Other ganas, ran away in fear, there seemed to be no warrior, who could confront the king.1528.
ਜਬਹਿਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਸਿਵਭਜਤਨਿਹਾਰਿਓ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਇਹੈਆਪਨੇਹ੍ਰਿਦੇਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ॥
(ਤਾਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ,
When Krishna saw Shiva running away, then he reflected in his mind that he would then fight with the enemy himself
ਅਬਹਉਆਪਨਇਹਸੰਗਲਰੋ॥
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਾਂ;
ਕੈਅਰਿਮਾਰੋਕੈਲਰਿਮਰੋ॥੧੫੨੯॥
ਜਾਂ (ਤਾਂ) ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਾਂ ਜਾਂ (ਆਪ) ਲੜ ਮਰਾਂ ॥੧੫੨੯॥
Either he would kill the enemy of die himself.1529.
ਤਬਤਿਹਸਉਹੇਹਰਿਜੂਗਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਸ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਗਏ।
ਰਾਮਭਨੈਅਤਿਜੁਧਮਚਯੋ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਖੂਬ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ।
Then Krishna went before the king and waged a dreadful war
ਤਬਤਿਨੈਤਕਿਤਿਹਬਾਨਲਗਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਤਕ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰਿਆ
ਸ੍ਯੰਦਨਤੇਹਰਿਭੂਮਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥੧੫੩੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਰਥ ਉਤੋਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੫੩੦॥
Making him the target, the king shot an arrow and dismounted Krishna from his chariot.1530.

ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਇੰਦਰ, ਸਨਕਾਦਿਕ ਵਰਗੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ,
He, whose name is muttered ever by Brahma, Indra, Sanak etc.
ਸੂਰਸਸੀਸੁਰਨਾਰਦਸਾਰਦਤਾਹੀਕੇਧਿਆਨਬਿਖੈਮਨੁਦੀਨੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੂਰਜ, ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ, ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਨਾਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ;
He, on whom Surya, Chandra, Narada, Sharda meditate
ਖੋਜਤਹੈਜਿਹਸਿਧਮਹਾਮੁਨਿਬਿਆਸਪਰਾਸੁਰਭੇਦਨਚੀਨੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਮੁਨੀ ਵਿਆਸ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਸ਼ਰ ਖੋਜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕੇ ਹਨ;
He, whom the adepts search in their contemplation and whose mystery is not comprehended by the great sages like Vyas and Prashar,
ਸੋਖੜਗੇਸਅਯੋਧਨਮੈਕਰਿਮੋਹਿਤਕੇਸਨਤੇਗਹਿਲੀਨੋ॥੧੫੩੧॥
ਉਸ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਨੂੰ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਸੁਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੩੧॥
Kharag Singh caught him in the battlefield by his hair.1531.
ਮਾਰਿਬਕੀਬਕਅਉਰਅਘਾਸੁਰਧੇਨਕਕੋਪਲਮੈਬਧਕੀਨੋ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਪੂਤਨਾ (ਬਕੀ) ਬਕਾਸੁਰ, ਅਘਾਸੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਧੇਨਕ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ;
He, who killed Putana, Bakasura, Aghasura and Dhenkasura in an instant
ਕੇਸੀਬਛਾਸੁਰਮੁਸਟਚੰਡੂਰਕੀਏਚਕਚੂਰਸੁਨਿਯੋਪੁਰਤੀਨੋ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਕੇਸੀ, ਬਛਾਸੁਰ, ਮੁਸ਼ਟ, ਚੰਡੂਰ ਵਰਗਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਚਕਨਾਚੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ;
He, who became famous in all the three worlds by killing Keshi, Mahishasur, Mushiti, Chandur etc.
ਸ੍ਰੀਹਰਿਸਤ੍ਰਅਨੇਕਹਨੇਤਿਹਕਉਨਗਨੇਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਪ੍ਰਬੀਨੋ॥
(ਜਿਸ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ, ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਕੌਣ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਹੈ?
That Krishna, who had knocked down many enemies with skill and killed Kansa by catching him from his hair
ਕੰਸਕਉਕੇਸਨਤੇਗਹਿਕੇਸਵਭੂਪਮਨੋਬਦਲੋਵਹੁਲੀਨੋ॥੧੫੩੨॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜਨ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੩੨॥
The name Krishna has been caught by his hair by the king Kharag Singh, it seems that he has avenged the killing of Kansa by catching his hair.1532
ਚਿੰਤਕਰੀਚਿਤਮੈਤਿਹਭੂਪਤਿਜੋਇਹਕਉਅਬਹਉਬਧਕੈਹਉ॥
ਉਸ ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਸੋਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਣ ਵੱਧ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ,
The king then thought that if he killed Krishna, all his army would run away
ਸੈਨਸਭੈਭਜਹੈਜਬਹੀਤਬਕਾਸੰਗਜਾਇਕੈਜੁਧੁਮਚੈਹਉ॥
(ਤਾਂ) ਜਦੋਂ (ਇਸ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਭਜ ਜਾਏਗੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
With whom then he would fight?
ਹਉਕਿਹਪੈਕਰਿਹੋਬਹੁਘਾਇਨਕਾਕੇਹਉਘਾਇਨਸਨਮੁਖਖੈਹਉ॥
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਘਾਓ ਲਗਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਾਓ ਮੈਂ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਂਗਾ।
ਛਾਡਿਦਯੋਕਹਿਓਜਾਹੁਚਲੇਹਰਿਤੋਸਮਸੂਰਕਹੂੰਨਹੀਪੈਹਉ॥੧੫੩੩॥
(ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ) ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ! ਚਲਾ ਜਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੇਗਾ ॥੧੫੩੩॥
To whom then he would inflict a wound or from whom he be wounded himself? Therefore, the king set Krishna free and said,” Go away, there is no other warrior like you.”1533.
ਪਉਰਖਜੈਸੋਬਡੋਕੀਯੋਭੂਪਨਆਗੈਕਿਸੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਐਸੋਕੀਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।
The great bravery that the king exhibited, was incomparable
ਭਟਪੇਖਿਕੈਭਾਜਿਗਏਸਿਗਰੇਕਿਨਹੂੰਧਨੁਬਾਨਨਪਾਨਿਲੀਓ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Seeing this spectacle all the warriors ran away, none of them caught him bow and arrows
ਹਥਿਯਾਰਉਤਾਰਚਲੇਬਿਸੰਭਾਰਿਰਥੀਰਥਟਾਰਿਡਰਾਤਹੀਓ॥
ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਰਥਵਾਨ ਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਡਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ (ਭਜ ਚਲੇ ਹਨ)।
ਰਨਮੈਖੜਗੇਸਬਲੀਬਲੁਕੈਅਪੁਨੋਕਰਕੈਹਰਿਛਾਡਿਦੀਯੋ॥੧੫੩੪॥
ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਯੋਧੇ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ (ਫੜ ਕੇ) ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੩੪॥
The great fighters, fearing in their mind, abandoned their weapons and fled away and in the battlefield the king set free Krishna with his own will.1534.

ਛਾਡਿਕੇਸਤੇਜਬਹਰਿਦਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਲਜਤਭਯੋਬਿਸਰਿਬਲੁਗਯੋ॥
(ਤਾਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ) ਲਜਿਤ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਬਲ ਭੁਲ ਗਿਆ।
When Krishna was set free, by loosening the grasp of his hair, he forgot his power and felt ashamed
ਤਬਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਪ੍ਰਤਛਹੁਇਆਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ
ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਤਾਪਤਿਨਿਸਕਲਮਿਟਾਯੋ॥੧੫੩੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੫੩੫॥
Then Brahma manifested himself and ended the mental anxiety of Krishna.1535.
ਕਹੇਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਸਿਉਇਹਬਿਧਿਬੈਨਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਕਹੇ,
ਲਾਜਕਰੋਨਹਿਪੰਕਜਨੈਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਕਮਲ ਨੈਨ! ਲਜਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
He (Brahma) said to Krishna, “O Lotus-eyed! do not feel ashamed
ਇਹਪਉਰਖਹਉਤੋਹਿਸੁਨਾਊ॥
ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ (ਦੀ ਗੱਲ) ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਤਿਹਤੇਤੋਕਹੁਅਬਹਿਰਿਝਾਊ॥੧੫੩੬॥
ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੫੩੬॥
I now please you by relating the story of the bravery (of the king).”1536.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਬਾਚ॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ,
ਤਜਿਧਾਮਤਬੈਬਨਿਬਾਸੁਕੀਓ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਛਡ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਨੇ) ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਸਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।
“When this king was born, he left his home and went to the forest
ਤਪਸਾਕਰਿਕੈਜਗਮਾਤਰਿਝਾਯੋ॥
ਤਪਸਿਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਨੇ) ਜਗਤ ਮਾਤਾ (ਦੇਵੀ) ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ
ਤਹਤੇਅਰਿਜੀਤਨਕੋਬਰੁਪਾਯੋ॥੧੫੩੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤਣ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੫੩੭॥
With great austerities, he pleased the goddess Chandika from whom he obtained the boon of conquering the enemy.1537.
