ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨਿਬੇੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। (ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਉਣ ਲਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੯੫॥
After wounding the king, he himself was wounded and then fell down, in this way, he searched for warriors and destroyed them, seeing his bravery, Krishna himself began to praise him.1595.

ਤਿਹਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੋਪਉਰਖਸੁਜਸੁਮੁਖਸੋਕਹਿਯੋਸੁਧਾਰਿ॥੧੫੯੬॥
(ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੯੬॥
Seeing towards Yudhishtar and considering him as his devotee, Krishna told him in a nice manner about the bravery of the king.1596.

ਭਾਰੇਭਾਰੇਸੂਰਮਾਸੰਘਾਰਿਡਾਰੇਮਹਾਰਾਜਜਮਕੀਜਮਨਕੀਘਨੀਹੀਸੈਨਾਛਈਹੈ॥
ਹੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ! (ਇਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਮ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਵਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
This king, Kharag Singh, has killed mighty warriors and Yama’s dense like clouds
ਸਸਿਕੀਸੁਰੇਸਕੀਦਿਨੇਸਕੀਧਨੇਸਕੀਲੁਕੇਸਹੂੰਕੀਚਮੂੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਲੋਕਕਉਪਠਈਹੈ॥
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੀ, ਇੰਦਰ ਦੀ, ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ, ਕੁਬੇਰ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਰੁਨ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
He has despatched to the world of death all the four divisions of the army of Sheshnaga, Indra, Surya, Kuber etc.
ਭਾਜਗੇਜਲੇਸਸੇਗਨੇਸਸੇਗਨਤਕਉਨਅਉਰਹਉਕਹਾਕਹੋਪਸ੍ਵੇਸਪੀਠਦਈਹੈ॥
ਵਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਣੇਸ਼ (ਵਰਗੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ) ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ) ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੌਣ ਕਰੇ। ਹੋਰ ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਆਖਾਂ, ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਪਿਠ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
What to say of Varuna, Ganesh etc., seeing him, even Shiva went back
ਜਾਦਵਸਬਨਤੇਨਡਾਰਿਓਰੀਝਲਰਿਓਹਾਹਾਦੇਖੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਮਤੇਬਜਾਇਬਾਜੀਲਈਹੈ॥੧੫੯੭॥
(ਇਹ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਯਾਦਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਡਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੀਝ ਕੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ ਲੜਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵੇਖੋ, ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਠੋਕ ਵਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਜਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੯੭॥
He did not fear any Yadava and pleasingly, fighting will all of us, he has gained victory over all of us.1597.

ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਰ ਨੇ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਜ-ਨਾਥ! ਸੁਣੋ ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ
ਯਹਸਮਾਜੁਤੁਮਹੀਕੀਯੋਕਉਤੁਕਦੇਖਨਕਾਜ॥੧੫੯੮॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੯੮॥
Yudhishtar said with humility, “O Lord of Braja! all this play has been created by you in order to see the sport.”1598.

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ (ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਰ) ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਕਹੇ।
ਬਹੁਰੇਉਨਿਭਟਮਾਰਿਗਿਰਾਏ॥
(ਉਧਰ) ਉਸ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਹੋਰ ਯੋਧੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਪੁਨਿਮਲੇਛਕੀਸੈਨਾਧਾਈ॥
ਫਿਰ ਮਲੇਛ ਸੈਨਾ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆ ਪਈ।
ਨਾਮਤਿਨਹੁਕਬਿਦੇਤਬਤਾਈ॥੧੫੯੯॥
(ਹੁਣ) ਕਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੯੯॥
On this side Yudhishtar said this to Krishna and on that side the king Kharag Singh knocked down a large part of the army, then the poet relates now,1599

ਨਾਹਿਰਖਾਨਝੜਾਝੜਖਾਬਲਬੀਰਬਹਾਦਰਖਾਨਤਬੈ॥
ਤਦ ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖਾਨ, ਝੜਾਝੜ ਖਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਖਾਨ;
ਪੁਨਿਖਾਨਨਿਹੰਗਭੜੰਗਝੜੰਗਲਰੇਰਨਿਆਗੇਡਰੇਨਕਬੈ॥
ਫਿਰ ਨਿਹੰਗ ਖਾਨ, ਭੜੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਝੜੰਗ (ਖਾਨ) ਅਗੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲੜੇ, ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਡਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ।
Nahar Khan, Jharajhar Khan, Bahadur Khan, Nihang Khan, Bharang and Jharang were such expert warriors in warfare that they never had any fear of war
ਜਿਹਰੂਪਨਿਹਾਰਿਡਰੈਦਿਗਪਾਲਮਹਾਭਟਤੇਕਬਹੂੰਨਦਬੈ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦਿਗਪਾਲ ਡਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਬਦੇ ਸਨ,
Seeing whose figures even the protectors of the directions feared, such mighty warriors could never be suppressed by anyone
ਕਰਿਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਧਰੇਅਭਿਮਾਨਸੋਂਆਇਪਰੇਤਬਖਾਨਸਬੈ॥੧੬੦੦॥
(ਉਹ) ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੬੦੦॥
All those Khans, taking their bows and arrows in their hands came to fight proudly with the king.1600.
ਜਾਹਿਦਖਾਨਹੁਜਬਰਖਾਨਸੁਵਾਹਿਦਖਾਨਗਏਸੰਗਸੂਰੇ॥
ਜਹਦ ਖ਼ਾਨ, ਜਬਰ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਦ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਸੂਰਮੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
They were accompanied by the warriors like Zahid Khan, Jabbar Khan and Wahid Khan
ਚਉਪਚਹੂੰਦਿਸਤੇਉਮਗੇਚਿਤਮੈਚਪਿਰੋਸਕੇਮਾਰਿਮਰੂਰੇ॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਮਡੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਟ ਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
They rushed forward from all the four directions getting angry
ਗੋਰੇਮਲੇਛਚਲੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਪੈਇਕਸਿਆਹਮਲੇਛਚਲੇਇਕਭੂਰੇ॥
ਗੋਰੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਲੇਛ, ਕਾਲੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਲੇਛ, ਭੂਰੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਲੇਛ ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਚਲੇ ਹਨ।
The malechhas of all colours, white, black, grey etc., marched forward to fight with the king
ਭੂਪਸਰਾਸਨੁਲੈਤਬਹੀਸੁਅਚੂਰਬਡੇਛਿਨਭੀਤਰਚੂਰੇ॥੧੬੦੧॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੦੧॥
At that very instant, the king, taking his bow in his hand, pulversied all these angry warriors.1601.
ਕੋਪਿਮਲੇਛਨਕੀਪ੍ਰਿਤਨਾਸੁਦੁਧਾਕਰਿਕੈਸਤਿਧਾਕਰਡਾਰੀ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਲੇਛਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਟੋਟਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੌ ਸੌ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The king, in ire, dividing the army of malechhas into two parts, broke them up further
ਬੀਰਪਰੇਕਹੂੰਬਾਜਮਰੇਕਹੂੰਝੂਮਿਗਿਰੇਗਜਭੂਪਰਿਭਾਰੀ॥
ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਮਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤੇ (ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਘੁੰਮੇਰੀ ਖਾਹ ਕੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਕਿਤੇ) ਵਡੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
Somewhere the warriors, somewhere the horses powerful huge elephants lay dead
ਘੂਮਤਿਹੈਕਹੂੰਘਾਇਲਗੇਭਟਬੋਲਸਕੈਨਗਏਬਲਹਾਰੀ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਯੋਧੇ ਘੁੰਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਬੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ਅਤੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬਲ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The elephants had fallen after swinging
ਆਸਨਲਾਇਮਨੋਮੁਨਿਰਾਇਲਗਾਵਤਧਿਆਨਬਡੇਬ੍ਰਤਧਾਰੀ॥੧੬੦੨॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਮੁਨੀ ਰਾਜ ਆਸਣ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਥਵਾ ਵੱਡੇ ਬ੍ਰਤਧਾਰੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੬੦੨॥
Some of the wouded warriors are writhing and some have lost the power of speech, some are sitting silently like some fasting hermit in meditation.1602.
ਜੁਧੁਇਤੋਜਬਭੂਪਕੀਓਤਬਨਾਹਿਰਖਾਰਿਸਿਕੈਅਟਕਿਓ॥
ਜਦ ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖਾਨ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਸਾਹਮਣੇ) ਡਟ ਗਿਆ।
When the king waged a dreadful war, then in great rage Nahar Khan came and stood before him
ਹਥਿਆਰਸੰਭਾਰਿਹਕਾਰਿਪਰਿਓਜੁਸਮਾਜਮੈਬਾਜਿਹੁਤੋਮਟਕਿਓ॥
ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਾ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਜੋ) ਆਪਣੇ ਦਲ ਵਿਚ ਘੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਟਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
Holding his weapons, with dancing horse and challenging the king, he fell upon him
ਖੜਗੇਸਤਿਨੈਗਹਿਕੇਸਨਤੇਝਟਕਿਓਅਰੁਭੂਮਿਬਿਖੈਪਟਕਿਓ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਝਟਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪਟਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Kharag Singh caught him by his hair, threw him on the ground, with a jerk
ਤਬਨਾਹਿਰਖਾਇਹਦੇਖਿਦਸਾਕਹਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਭਜਿਗਯੋਨਟਿਕਿਓ॥੧੬੦੩॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦ ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਇਸ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਟਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੦੩॥
Seeing him in such plight, Tahir Khan did not stay there and fled away.1603.
ਨਾਹਿਰਖਾਭਜਿਗਯੋਜਬਹੀਤਬਹੀਰਿਸਿਖਾਨਝੜਾਝੜਆਏ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਭਜ ਗਿਆ ਤਦੋਂ ਝੜਾਝੜ ਖਾਨ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰਿਸਭੈਅਪੁਨੇਜਮਰੂਪਕੀਏਨ੍ਰਿਪਊਪਰਿਧਾਏ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਮ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਟੁਟ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
When Tahir Khan fled away, then, in great fury, Jharajhar Khan came forward and holding his weapons fell upon the king looking like Yama
ਭੂਪਤਿਬਾਨਹਨੇਇਨਕਉਇਨਹੂੰਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਉਬਹੁਬਾਨਲਗਾਏ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰੇ ਹਨ।
He discharged many arrows on the king and the king shot many arrows on him
ਕਿੰਨਰਜਛਰਰੈਉਪਮਾਰਨਚਾਰਨਜੀਤਕੇਗੀਤਬਨਾਏ॥੧੬੦੪॥
ਕਿੰਨਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਕਸ਼ (ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਉਪਮਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਤ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਸੁਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧੬੦੪॥
Kinnars and Yakshas praised their battle and the group of mistrels began to sing songs of victory.1604.

ਸੀਸਕਾਟਿਅਰਿਕੋਦਯੋਏਕਬਾਨਕੇਸਾਥਿ॥੧੬੦੫॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰੀ ਦਾ ਸੀਸ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੦੫॥
Kharag Singh seeing the stern warriors before him changed the signs on his forehead and with a single arrow, chopped the head of the enemy.1605.

Then Nihang Khan, Jharang Khan and Bharang Khan etc. marched forward, masticating their mouths with their shields

ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਤੇ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Then holding his sword in his hand, the king challenged and fell upon Krishna
ਦਲੁਮਾਰਿਬਿਦਾਰਿਦਯੋਪਲਮੈਧਰਿਮੁੰਡਸੁਮੀਨਨਜਿਉਫਰਕੈ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਰਣ-ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੜਫ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ) ਜਿਉਂ ਮੱਛਲੀਆਂ ਤੜਫ਼ਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The king beat and caused the army to flee and the trunks and heads began to writhe in the battlefield like fish
ਨਟਰੇਰਨਭੂਮਿਹੂੰਤੇਤਬਲਉਜਬਲਉਛਿਤਪੈਨਪਰੇਮਰਿਕੈ॥੧੬੦੬॥
(ਉਹ ਯੋਧੇ) ਉਤਨੀ ਦੇਰ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਟਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿੰਨੀ ਦੇਰ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਏ ॥੧੬੦੬॥
The warriors did not like to withdraw from the field till their death.1606.
