ਮਾਰਤਹਉਹਠਿਕੈਸਠਿਤੋਕਹੁਕਾਭਯੋਜੁਅਤਿਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਹਠ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
I shall now kill you powerfully
ਏਕਘਰੀਲਰਿਲੈਮਰਿਹੈਅਬਜਾਨਤਹਉਤੁਯਕਾਲਹੀਆਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਘੜੀ (ਹੋਰ) ਲੜ ਲੈ, ਹੁਣੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਾਲ ਹੀ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
“You may fight for one ghari (short duration of time), because I know that your death is very near and you have to die
ਚੇਤਰੇਚੇਤਅਜਉਚਿਤਮੈਹਰਿਇਉਕਹਿਕੈਧਨੁਬਾਨਚਲਾਯੋ॥੧੬੩੦॥
'ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ ਲੈ', ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੬੩੦॥
Telling him to remain cautious, Krishna discharged his arrow.1630.

ਆਵਤਸਰਸੋਕਾਟਿਕੈਰਿਸਿਬੋਲਿਯੋਖੜਗੇਸ॥
ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ (ਬਾਣ ਨੂੰ) ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੋਲਿਆ
ਮੁਹਿਪਉਰਖਜਾਨਤਸਕਲਸੇਸਸੁਰੇਸਮਹੇਸ॥੧੬੩੧॥
ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ, ਇੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ (ਆਦਿ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੬੩੧॥
Intercepting the coming arrow, Kharag Singh said furiously, “Sheshnaga, Indra and Shiva know quite nicely about my bravery.1631.

ਭਖਜੈਹਉਭੂਤਨਭਜਾਇਦੈਹੋਸੁਰਾਸੁਰਸ੍ਯਾਮਪਟਿਕੈਹੋਭੂਮਿਭੁਜਾਅਸਿਜੋਗਹਉ॥
ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਫੜਾਂਗਾ (ਤਦੋਂ) ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਬ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਭਜਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਬਾਹੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪਟਕਾ ਮਾਰਾਂਗਾ।
I shall devour the ghosts
ਭੈਰਵਨਚੈਹਉਭਾਰੀਜੁਧਹਿਮਚੈਹਉਪੁਨਿਭਾਜਹੂੰਨਜੈਹਉਸੁਨਿਸਾਚੀਹਰਿਹਉਕਹਉ॥
ਭੈਰਵ ਨੂੰ (ਲੜਾਈ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿਚ) ਨਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ! ਸੁਣ, ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਜਾਈਂ।
I shall cause the gods and demons to run away and throw Krishna on the ground, such is the power in my arms, by waging a terrible war, I shall cause Bhairava to dance, O Krishna, I am telling the truth that I shall not run away from the war-arena
ਕਹਾਦ੍ਰਉਣਦਿਜਕਉਸੰਘਾਰਤਨਲਾਗੈਪਲਮਾਰੋਦਲਬਲਿਇੰਦ੍ਰਜਮਰੁਦ੍ਰਜੋਚਹਉ॥
ਦ੍ਰੋਣਾਚਾਰੀਆ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਕੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਪਲ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ। ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਇੰਦਰ, ਯਮ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਲ ਬਲ ਸਹਿਤ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂ।
It will not take more than a moment to kill Dronacharhya
ਰਾਧਿਕਾਰਵਨਤਉਤੇਰੇਰਨਜੁਰੇਆਜੁਛਤ੍ਰੀਖੜਗੇਸਹੁਇਕੈਐਸੋਬੋਲਹਉਸਹਉ॥੧੬੩੨॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਰਮਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ! ਤਦ ਹੀ ਅਜ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਜੁਟੇ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਂ) ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਤਿਖੇ ਬੋਲ ਸਹਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੬੩੨॥
I can kill Indra or Yama alongwith their military power, whomsoever I want to kill, O Krishna! all your kshatriyas engaged in war, I can kill all of them, but being Kharag Singh, I can`t tolerate your said world."1632.

ਤਬਹਿਦ੍ਰਉਣਰਿਸਕੋਬਢਾਇਨ੍ਰਿਪਸਉਹੈਧਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਰੋਣਾਚਾਰੀਆ ਰਾਜੇ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ।
ਅਸਤ੍ਰਸਸਤ੍ਰਗਹਿਪਾਨਿਬਹੁਤੁਬਿਧਿਜੁਧਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ-ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ।
Then Dronacharya came angrily before the king and he waged a dreadful war, holding his weapons and arms
ਅਧਿਕਸ੍ਰਉਣਤਨਭਰੇਲਰੇਭਟਘਾਇਲਐਸੇ॥
(ਦੋਵੇਂ) ਯੋਧੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋਏ ਕਿ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਲਥ-ਪਥ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਲਾਲਗੁਲਾਲਭਰੇਪਟਿਖੇਲਤਚਾਚਰਜੈਸੇ॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ (ਅਜਿਹੇ) ਲਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੋਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਭਿਜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The warriors, getting wounded and a good deal of blood out of their bodies, they appear to have played the Holi with red colour and also wearing red clothes
ਤਬਦੇਖਿਸਭੈਸੁਰਯੌਕਹੈਧਨਿਦਿਜਧਨਿਸੁਭੂਪਤੁਅ॥
ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇੰਜ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਦ੍ਰੋਣਾਚਾਰੀਆ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ।
ਜੁਗਚਾਰਨਮੈਅਬਲਉਕਹੂੰਐਸੇਜੁਧਨਭਯੋਭੁਅ॥੧੬੩੩॥
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਣ ਤਕ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧੬੩੩॥
The gods seeing this hailed Dronacharya and the king Kharag Singh and also said, ”Such a war has not been fought on the earth during the four ages.”1633.

ਘੇਰਿਓਤਬਖੜਗੇਸਕਉਪਾਡਵਸੈਨਰਿਸਾਇ॥
ਤਦ ਫਿਰ ਪਾਂਡਵ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ
ਪਾਰਥਭੀਖਮਭੀਮਦਿਜਦ੍ਰਉਣਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕੁਰਰਾਇ॥੧੬੩੪॥
ਅਰਜਨ, ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਪਿਤਾਮਾ, ਭੀਮ ਸੈਨ, ਦ੍ਰੋਣਾਚਾਰੀਆ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਚਾਰੀਆ ਅਤੋ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ('ਕੁਰ ਰਾਇ') ਨੇ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੬੩੪॥
Then greatly infuriated, Arjuna, Bhishma, Bhima, Dronacharya, Kripacharya and Duryodhana etc. of the Pandava army besieged Kharag Singh.1634.

ਜੈਸੇਬਾਰਖੇਤਕਉਜੁਕਾਲਫਾਸਚੇਤਕਉਸੁਭਿਛਦਾਨਦੇਤਕਉਸੁਕੰਕਨਜਿਉਕਰਕੋ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਾੜ ਖੇਤ ਨੂੰ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਫੰਧੇ ਨੂੰ, ਮੰਗਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਣ ਹੱਥ ਨੂੰ (ਘੇਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ);
Just as the fence surrounds the field, death surrounds the donor and the bangle surrounds the hand
ਜੈਸੇਦੇਹਪ੍ਰਾਨਕਉਪ੍ਰਵੇਖਸਸਿਭਾਨੁਕਉਅਗਿਆਨਜੈਸੇਗਿਆਨਕਉਸੁਗੋਪੀਜੈਸੇਹਰਿਕੋ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦੇਹ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਪ੍ਰਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਨੂੰ, ਅਗਿਆਨ ਨੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ (ਘੇਰਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ);
Just as the body surrounds the vital force Prana, the light surrounds the spheres of sun and moon, nescience surrounds knowledge and gopis surround Krishna.
