ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੜੀ ਲਗੀ ਹੈ ਮਾਨੋ ਪਰਲੋ ਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਆ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੬੬੪॥
The twelve Suryas pulled their bows and discharged their arrows like the raining clouds of doomsday.1664.

ਬਾਨਨਸੋਬਾਨਨਕਟੇਕੋਪਤਚੇਜੁਗਨੈਨ॥
ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਚੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਸ੍ਰੀਹਰਿਸੋਖੜਗੇਸਤਬਰਿਸਕਰਿਬੋਲਿਯੋਬੈਨ॥੧੬੬੫॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਬਚਨ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੧੬੬੫॥
The king intercepted the arrows with arrows and looking furiously he said to Krihsna,1665

ਕਿਉਰੇਗੁਮਾਨਕਰੈਘਨਸ੍ਯਾਮਅਬੈਰਨਤੇਪੁਨਿਤੋਹਿਭਜੈਹੋ॥
ਹੇ ਘਨ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ! (ਤੂੰ) ਕਿਉਂ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ (ਮੈਂ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਭਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
“O Krishna! why are you egoistic? I shall cause you to run away from the battlefield just jow
ਕਾਹੇਕੌਆਨਿਅਰਿਯੋਸੁਨਰੇਸਿਰਕੇਸਨਿਤੇਬਹੁਰੋਗਹਿਲੈਹੋ॥
ਓਏ! ਸੁਣ, (ਤੂੰ) ਕਿਸ ਲਈ (ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ) ਆ ਕੇ ਅੜਿਆ ਹੈਂ। (ਮੈਂ) ਫਿਰ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ।
Why are you resisting me? I shall again catch you by your hair
ਐਰੇਅਹੀਰਅਧੀਰਡਰੇਨਹਿਤੋਕਹਿਜੀਵਤਜਾਨਨਦੈਹੋ॥
ਓਏ ਗਵਾਲੇ! (ਤੂੰ) ਅਧੀਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਡਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। (ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।
“O Gujjar! are you not feeling afraid? I shall not let you go alive and
ਇੰਦ੍ਰਬਿਰੰਚਕੁਬੇਰਜਲਾਧਿਪਕੋਸਸਿਕੋਸਿਵਕੋਹਤਕੈਹੋ॥੧੬੬੬॥
ਇੰਦਰ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਕੁਬੇਰ, ਵਰੁਨ, ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੧੬੬੬॥
Kill all including Indra, Brahma, Kuber, Varuna, Chandra, Shiva etc.”1666.
ਤਉਹੀਲਉਬੀਰਮਹੋਤਕਟਸਿੰਘਹੁਤੋਰਨਮੈਮਨਿਕੋਪਭਰਿਓ॥
ਉਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਹੋਤ ਕਟ ਸਿੰਘ (ਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੀ (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ,
At that time, the mighty warrior Kata Singh, getting enraged in his mind and
ਕਰਮੈਕਰਵਾਰਿਲੈਧਾਇਚਲਿਓਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਨਹੀਨੈਕੁਡਰਿਓ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗੇ ਵਧਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਰਤਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਡਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Fearlessly taking his sword in his hand, fell upon the king, both of them waged a dreadful war,
ਅਸਿਜੁਧਦੁਹੂੰਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੀਨਬਡੋਨਕੋਊਰਨਤੇਪਗਏਕਟਰਿਓ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਖ਼ੂਬ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਕਦਮ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
None of them retraced even one step
ਖੜਗੇਸਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਕੀਤਾਨਿਦਈਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਕਰਿਓਗਿਰਭੂਮਿਪਰਿਓ॥੧੬੬੭॥
(ਆਖੀਰ ਵਿਚ) ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਦਤ ਨਾਲ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਵਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਮਹੋਤ ਕਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੬੭॥
Ultimately Kharag Singh struck a blow with his sword and making him lifeless caused him to fall on the earth.1667.
ਦੇਖਿਦਸਾਤਿਹਸਿੰਘਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਸੁਠਾਢੋਹੁਤੋਰਿਸਕੈਵਹਧਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਕੋਲ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਧਨੁਬਾਨਨਲੈਤਿਹਭੂਪਤਿਸਿਉਅਤਿਜੁਧਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਸ਼ਿਆਮ (ਕਵੀ) ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
Seeing him in this plight, Vichitra Singh who was standing there, came forward and waged a dreadful war with the king with his bow and arrows
ਸ੍ਰੀਖੜਗੇਸਬਲੀਧਨਤਾਨਿਮਹਾਬਰਬਾਨਪ੍ਰਕੋਪਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਬਲਵਾਨ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਤਣ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਲਾਗਿਗਯੋਤਿਹਕੇਉਰਮੈਸਰਘੂਮਿਗਿਰਿਓਧਰਿਇਉਅਰਿਘਾਯੋ॥੧੬੬੮॥
(ਉਹ ਬਾਣ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਘੁੰਮੇਰੀ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ) ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੬੮॥
The mighty warrior Kharag Singh, pulled his bow in anger and discharged his arrow in such a way that it hit his heart and his head was chopped and fell down.1668.

ਤਬਅਜੀਤਸਿੰਘਆਪਹੀਧਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਆ
ਧਨੁਖਬਾਨਲੈਰਨਮਧਿਆਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
Then Ajit Singh himself took his bow and arrows and reached the war-arena
ਭੂਪਤਿਕੋਤਿਨਬਚਨਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣਾਏ
ਤੋਬਧਹਿਤਸਿਵਮੁਹਿਉਪਜਾਯੋ॥੧੬੬੯॥
ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੬੯॥
He said to the king, “Shiva has created me only for the purpose of killing you.”1669.
ਅਜੀਤਸਿੰਘਯੌਬਚਨਉਚਾਰਿਓ॥
ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰੇ
ਖੜਗਸਿੰਘਰਨਮਾਹਿਹਕਾਰਿਓ॥
ਅਤੇ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੰਗਾਰਿਆ।
Ajit Singh saying like this, challenged Kharag Singh for fighting
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਏਬੈਨਸੁਨਤਨਹੀਡਰਿਓ॥
ਰਾਜਾ (ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ) ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਡਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
ਮਹਾਬੀਰਪਗੁਆਗੈਧਰਿਓ॥੧੬੭੦॥
(ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ) ਮਹਾਵੀਰ ਨੇ ਕਦਮ ਅਗੇ ਹੀ ਧਰਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੭੦॥
The king was not frightened on listening this and that mighty one came forward.1670.
ਅਜੀਤਸਿੰਘਰਛਾਹਿਤਧਾਏ॥
ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਲਈ (ਇਹ) ਦੌੜੇ ਹਨ।
ਗ੍ਯਾਰਹਰੁਦ੍ਰਭਾਨਸਭਆਏ॥
ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਰੁਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਆਏ ਹਨ।
The eleven Rudras and Surya reached there fore the protection of Ajit Singh
ਇੰਦ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਜਮਬਸੁਰਿਸਭਰੇ॥
ਇੰਦਰ, ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ, ਯਮ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠ ਬਸੂ,
ਬਰੁਨਕੁਬੇਰਘੇਰਿਸਭਖਰੇ॥੧੬੭੧॥
ਵਰੁਨ, ਕੁਬੇਰ ਆਦਿ ਸਾਰੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ) ਘੇਰ ਕੇ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੬੭੧॥
Indra, Krishna, Yama, Varuna, Kuber etc., all had surrounded him.1671.

ਸਿੰਘਅਜੀਤਜਬੈਖੜਗੇਸਸੋਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਅਤਿਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਯੋ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ,
ਸੰਗਿਸਿਵਾਦਿਕਸੂਰਜਿਤੇਅਰਿਮਾਰਨਕੋਤਿਹਹਾਥਉਚਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਦੋਂ) ਸ਼ਿਵ, ਸੂਰਜ ਆਦਿ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ, ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਉਲਾਰੇ।
When Ajit Singh waged a dreadful war with Kharag Singh, then all his accompanying mighty warriors like Shiva etc., held out their weapons in order to kill the enemy
ਬਾਨਚਲੇਅਤਿਹੀਰਨਮੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਾਟਿਸਬੈਮਨਿਰੋਸਿਤਚਾਯੋ॥
ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਾਣ ਚਲੇ ਹਨ, ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
The arrows were showered in the battlefield, but the king, in his fury, intercepted all the arrows
ਲੈਧਨੁਬਾਨਮਹਾਬਲਵਾਨਹਨ੍ਯੋਭਟਕੋਕਿਨਹੂੰਨਬਚਾਯੋ॥੧੬੭੨॥
ਉਸ ਮਹਾਨ ਬਲਵਾਨ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼-ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਬਚਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੭੨॥
That mighty warrior, taking his bow and arrows did not leave anyone and killed all the warriors.1672.

ਜਬਅਜੀਤਸਿੰਘਮਾਰਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ,
ਸੁਭਟਨਮਨਭਟਕਿਓਡਰਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਤਦ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ) ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਡੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਸਭ) ਡਰ ਗਏ।
ਬਹੁਰੋਭੂਪਤਿਖੜਗਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ॥
ਫਿਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਖੜਗ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਚਕ੍ਰਤਤੇਸਬਹੂੰਬਲੁਹਾਰਿਓ॥੧੬੭੩॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ (ਸਭ ਦਾ) ਬਲ ਛੀਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੬੭੩॥
When Ajit Singh killed the warriors, then the other warriors became fearful in their minds, the king again held out his sword, all the people were wonder-struck by his warfare and lost their valour.1673.
ਤਬਹਰਿਹਰਿਬਿਧਿਮੰਤ੍ਰਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ॥
ਤਦ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ, ਸ਼ਿਵ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ
ਮਰੈਨਜਰੈਅਗਨਤੇਜਾਰਿਓ॥
ਕਿ (ਇਹ) ਨਾ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜਿਆਂ ਸੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਾਤੇਜਤਨਕਛੂਅਬਕੀਜੈ॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਯਾਤੇਮਾਰਿਭੂਪਇਹਲੀਜੈ॥੧੬੭੪॥
ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ॥੧੬੭੪॥
Then Krishna and Brahma consulted each other and said, “This king will not even be killed by the blazing fire, therefore making some effort, he should be killed.”1674.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇਕਹਿਓਸੁਇਹਬਿਧਿਕੀਜੈ॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵਿਧੀ ਕਰੋ
ਮੋਹਿਤਹ੍ਵੈਮਨਤਬਬਲੁਛੀਜੈ॥
ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਤਦ (ਇਸ ਦਾ) ਬਲ ਛੀਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
ਜਬਇਹਭੂਪਗਿਰਿਓਲਖਿਲਈਯੈ॥
ਜਦ ਇਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖ ਲਈਏ,
ਤਬਇਹਜਮਕੋਧਾਮਪਠਈਯੈ॥੧੬੭੫॥
ਤਦ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਮ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਜ ਦੇਈਏ ॥੧੬੭੫॥
Brahma said, “When he will lose his power by being allured by the heavenly damsels and in this way, when we will see him declining, then he will be despatched to the abode of Yama.1675.
