ਲਾਜਆਪਨੇਨਾਉਕੀਕਹੋਕਹਾਭਜਿਜਾਉ॥੧੬੮੭॥
(ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਹੈ; ਦਸ, ਕਿਥੇ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਜਾਵਾਂ ॥੧੬੮੭॥
I have to justify my name, then you may tell, where should I run away?1687.
ਸਵੈਯਾ॥
ਸਵੈਯਾ:

ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨਮੋਬਤੀਆਸੁਨਿਲੈਚਿਤਦੈਦੁਹਸ੍ਰਉਨਨਮੈਧਰੀਐ॥
ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ! ਚਿਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧਰ ਲੈ।
“O Brahma! Listen to me and hearing with your ears, adopt it in your mind
ਉਪਮਾਕੋਜਬੈਉਮਗੈਮਨਤਉਉਪਮਾਭਗਵਾਨਹੀਕੀਕਰੀਐ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਛਾਲਾ ਮਾਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਪਮਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਕਰੀਏ।
When the mind wishes to praise, then only the Lord should be praised
ਪਰੀਐਨਹੀਆਨਕੇਪਾਇਨਪੈਹਰਿਕੇਗੁਰਕੇਦਿਜਕੇਪਰੀਐ॥
ਕਿਸ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਨਾ ਪਈਏ, (ਕੇਵਲ) ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਦੇ (ਹੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ) ਪੈਣਾ (ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ)।
“None other’s feet should be worshiped except those of God, Guru and Brahmin
ਜਿਹਕੋਜੁਗਚਾਰਮੈਨਾਉਜਪੈਤਿਹਸੋਲਰਿਕੈਮਰੀਐਤਰੀਐ॥੧੬੮੮॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ) ਮਰ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ) ਤਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੮੮॥
He, who is worshiped in all the four ages, one should fight with him, die at his hands and ferry across the dreadful ocean of samsara through his grace.1688.
ਜਾਸਨਕਾਦਿਕਸੇਸਤੇਆਦਿਕਖੋਜਤਹੈਕਛੁਅੰਤਨਪਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਕਾਦਿਕ, ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ ਜਿਹੇ ਖੋਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਕੁਝ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
He, whom Sanak, Sheshnaga etc. search and still they do now know His mystery
ਚਉਦਹਲੋਕਨਬੀਚਸਦਾਸੁਕਬ੍ਯਾਸਮਹਾਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੁਗਾਯੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਹਾ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਸ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
He, whose praises are sung by Shukdev, Vyas etc. in all the fourteen world
ਜਾਹੀਕੇਨਾਮਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਹੂੰਤੇਧੂਅਸੋਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦਅਛੈਪਦਪਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਕਾਰਨ ਧ੍ਰੂਹ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਨੇ ਸਥਾਈ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
“And with Glory of whose name Dhruva and Prahlad attained eternal state,
ਸੋਅਬਮੋਸੰਗਜੁਧੁਕਰੈਜਿਹਸ੍ਰੀਧਰਸ੍ਰੀਹਰਿਨਾਮਕਹਾਯੋ॥੧੬੮੯॥
ਓਹੀ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੮੯॥
That Lord should fight with me.”1689.

ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨਏਬਚਨਸੁਨਤਚਕ੍ਰਿਤਭਯੋ॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
ਬਿਸਨਭਗਤਕੋਤਬੈਭੂਪਚਿਤਮੈਲਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਭਗਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ।
Hearing these world, Brahma was wonder-struck and on this side the king absorbed his mind in the devotion of Vishnu
ਸਾਧਸਾਧਕਰਿਬੋਲਿਓਬਦਨਨਿਹਾਰਕੈ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ) ਮੂੰਹ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ) ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ।
ਹੋਮੋਨਰਹਿਯੋਗਹਿਕਮਲਜਪ੍ਰੇਮਬਿਚਾਰਕੈ॥੧੬੯੦॥
(ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ('ਕਮਲਜ') ਚੁਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੬੯੦॥
Seeing the face of the king, Brahma shouted ‘Sadhu, Sadhu’ and observing his love (for the Lord), he became silent.1690.
ਬਹੁਰਿਬਿਧਾਤਾਭੂਪਤਿਕੋਇਹਬਿਧਿਕਹਿਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ,
ਭਗਤਿਗ੍ਯਾਨਕੋਤਤੁਭਲੀਬਿਧਿਤੈਲਹਿਯੋ॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਭਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਤੱਤ੍ਵ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Brahma said to the again, “O King! you have very nicely understood the elements of devotion,
ਤਾਤੇਅਬਤਨਸਾਥਹਿਸੁਰਗਿਸਿਧਾਰੀਐ॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਤਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਸੁਅਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਓ।
ਹੋਮੁਕਤਓਰਕਰਿਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਨਜੁਧਨਿਹਾਰੀਐ॥੧੬੯੧॥
ਮੁਕਤੀ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ) ਵਲ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਲ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੋ ॥੧੬੯੧॥
“Therefore you should go to heaven alongwith your body and getting salvation, do not look towards the side of war.”1691.
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ:

ਕਹਿਯੋਨਮਾਨੈਭੂਪਜਬਤਬਬ੍ਰਹਮੇਕਹਕੀਨ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਹ ਕੀਤਾ?
ਨਾਰਦਕੋਸਿਮਰਨਿਕੀਓਮੁਨਿਆਯੋਪਰਬੀਨ॥੧੬੯੨॥
(ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਾਰਦ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਮੁਨੀ (ਉਥੇ) ਆ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੬੯੨॥
When the king did not follow the desire of Brahma, then Brahma thought of Narada and Narada reached there.1692.

ਤਬਹੀਮੁਨਿਨਾਰਦਆਇਗਯੋਤਿਹਭੂਪਤਿਕੋਇਕਬੈਨਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਨਾਰਦ ਮੁਨੀ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ।
On coming there, Narada said to the king,
