ਚਉਦਹਲੋਕਨਬੀਚਕਹਿਯੋਪ੍ਰਭਿਤੋਸਮਰਾਜਨਕੋਊਬਨਾਯੋ॥
ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
“O king! there is no other king like you in all the fourteen worlds, this has been said by the Lord
ਤਾਹੀਤੇਬੀਰਨਕੀਮਨਿਤੈਸੁਭਲੋਕੀਯੋਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੋਜੁਧਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਹੇ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ! ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
“Therefore you have waged your dreadful war with Krishna like heroes
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਮੁਨਿਕੀਬਤੀਆਸੁਨਿਭੂਪਘਨੋਮਨਮੈਸੁਖੁਪਾਯੋ॥੧੬੯੩॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੁਨੀ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੯੩॥
” Hearing the words of the sage, the king was extremely pleased in his mind.1693.

ਅਭਿਬੰਦਨਭੂਪਤਿਕੀਯੋਨਾਰਦਕੋਪਹਿਚਾਨਿ॥
ਨਾਰਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
Recognising Narada, the king gave a ceremonious welcome to the sage
ਮੁਨਿਪਤਿਇਹਉਪਦੇਸਦੀਆਜੁਧਕਰੋਬਲਵਾਨ॥੧੬੯੪॥
ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਮੁਨੀ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ! (ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੋ ॥੧੬੯੪॥
Then Narada instructed the king about waging the war.1694.
ਇਤਭੂਪਤਿਨਾਰਦਮਿਲੇਪ੍ਰੇਮੁਭਗਤਿਕੀਖਾਨ॥
ਇਧਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਰੂਪ ਨਾਰਦ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਨ
ਉਤਮਹੇਸਚਲਿਤਹਗਏਜਹਠਾਢੇਭਗਵਾਨ॥੧੬੯੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਧਰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਉਥੇ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੬੯੫॥
On this side, the king as king of devotion met Narada and on that side Shiva reached there, where Krishna was standing.1695.

ਇਧਰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ
ਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਪਤਿਕੇਨਿਕਟਿਉਚਾਰਿਓ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਅਬਹੀਮ੍ਰਿਤਹਿਆਇਸਦੀਜੈ॥
ਕਿ ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ-ਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿਓ,
ਤਬਇਹਭੂਪਮਾਰਿਕੈਲੀਜੈ॥੧੬੯੬॥
ਤਾਂ ਜੋ (ਉਹ) ਇਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਏ ॥੧੬੯੬॥
Reflecting in his mind, Shiva said to Krishna, “Commend death now to kill the king.1696.

ਸਰਅਪਨੇਮੈਮ੍ਰਿਤੁਧਰਿਇਹਤੁਮਕਰਹੁਉਪਾਇ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ-ਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਧਰ ਕੇ (ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਦਾ ਚਿਲਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿਓ); ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹੀ ਉਪਾ ਕਰੋ।
ਅਬਕਸਿਕੈਧਨੁਛਾਡੀਏਭੂਲੇਬਡਿਅਨਿਆਇ॥੧੬੯੭॥
ਹੁਣ ਕਸ ਕੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਛਡ ਦਿਓ (ਅਤੇ ਇਹ) ਭੁਲ ਜਾਓ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਨਿਆਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੯੭॥
“Take the step of getting Death seated in your arrow and pulling the bow, discharge the arrow so that this king may forget doing all acts of injustice.”1697.

ਜਿਹਬਿਧਿਸੋਸਿਵਜੂਕਹਿਦੀਨੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Krishna acted according to the suggestion of Shiva
ਤਬਚਿਤਵਨਹਰਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਕੋਕੀਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ-ਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ
ਮੀਚਆਇਕੈਦਰਸਨੁਦੀਯੋ॥੧੬੯੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ ਨੇ ਆਕੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧੬੯੮॥
Krishna thought of death and the god of death manifested himself.1698.

ਕਹਿਓਮ੍ਰਿਤਕੋਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਜੂਮੋਸਰਮੈਕਰਬਾਸੁ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ-ਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ।
ਅਬਛਾਡਤਹੋਸਤ੍ਰਪੈਜਾਇਕਰਹੁਤਿਹਨਾਸੁ॥੧੬੯੯॥
ਹੁਣ (ਮੈਂ) ਵੈਰੀ ਉਤੇ ਛਡਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ॥੧੬੯੯॥
Krishna said to the god of death, “Abide in my arrow and on my discharging the arrow, you may destroy the enemy.”1699.

ਦੇਵਬਧੂਨਕੈਨੈਨਕਟਾਛਬਿਲੋਕਤਹੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਚਿਤਲੁਭਾਯੋ॥
ਦੇਵ-ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਟਾਖ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਚਿਤ ਲੁਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
The king was allured by the side-glances of the heavenly damseld
ਨਾਰਦਬ੍ਰਹਮਦੁਹੂੰਮਿਲਕੈਰਨਮੈਸੰਗਿਬਾਤਨਕੇਉਰਝਾਯੋ॥
ਨਾਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਾ ਲਿਆ।
On this side Narada and Brahma together engrossed the king in their talk
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਤਬੈਲਖਿਘਾਤਭਲੀਅਰਿਮਾਰਨਕੋਮ੍ਰਿਤਬਾਨਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੂ ਦੇਵ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਾਣ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਮੰਤ੍ਰਨਿਕੇਬਲਸੋਛਲਸੋਤਬਭੂਪਤਿਕੋਸਿਰੁਕਾਟਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥੧੭੦੦॥
ਮੰਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਛਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੭੦੦॥
At the same time, seeing a good opportunity, Krishna discharged his death-arrow and with the force of mantras deceptively caused the head of the king to fall down.1700.
ਜਦਿਪਿਸੀਸਕਟਿਓਨਹਟਿਓਗਹਿਕੇਸਨਿਤੇਹਰਿਓਰਿਚਲਾਯੋ॥
(ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ) ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਕਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਤੋਂ) ਟਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਨੂੰ) ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਵਲ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Though the head of the king was cut, but still he remained stable and catching his head from his hair, he threw it towards Krishna
ਮਾਨਹੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਚਲਿਯੋਦਿਵਿਆਨਨਕਾਜਬਿਦਾਬ੍ਰਿਜਰਾਜਪੈਆਯੋ॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦੇਵ-ਲੋਕ ਚਲੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਵਿਦਾਇਗੀ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
It seemed as if his pranas (vital force) had reached Krishna in order to bid farewell to him
ਸੋਸਿਰੁਲਾਗਗਯੋਹਰਿਕੇਉਰਿਮੂਰਛਹ੍ਵੈਪਗੁਨਠਹਰਾਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਸਿਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਉਹ) ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਡਿਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ) ਅਤੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਥਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕੇ ਹਨ।
That head hit Krishna and he could not keep standing
ਦੇਖਹੁਪਉਰਖਭੂਪਕੇਮੁੰਡਕੋਸ੍ਯੰਦਨਤੇਪ੍ਰਭੁਭੂਮਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥੧੭੦੧॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਵੇਖੋ (ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਰਥ ਤੋਂ ਭੂਮੀ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੦੧॥
He fell down unconscious, see the bravery of the head of the king, on being hit by it, the Lord (Krishna) fell down from his chariot on the earth.1701.
ਭੂਪਤਜੈਸੋਸੁਪੌਰਖਕੀਨੋਹੈਤੈਸੀਕਰੀਨਕਿਸੀਕਰਨੀ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਓਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ 'ਕਰਨੀ' ਕਿਸੇ (ਹੋਰ) ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਲਖਿਜਛਨਿਕਿਨਰੀਰੀਝਰਹੀਨਭਮੈਸਭਦੇਵਨਕੀਘਰਨੀ॥
(ਉਸ ਵੀਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਯਕਸ਼-ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ, ਕਿੰਨਰ-ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਰ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ
The king Kharag Singh exhibited extraordinary bravery, seeing which the women of Yakshas, Kinnars and gods are allured
ਮ੍ਰਿਦਬਾਜਤਬੀਨਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗਉਪੰਗਮੁਚੰਗਲੀਏਉਤਰੀਧਰਨੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਬੀਨ, ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ, ਉਪੰਗ, ਮੁਚੰਗ ਨੂੰ (ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲਏ ਹੋਇਆਂ) ਕੋਮਲ ਧੁਨ ਕਢਦੀਆਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਉਤਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਨਭਨਾਚਤਗਾਵਤਰੀਝਿਰਿਝਾਵਤਯੌਉਪਮਾਕਬਿਨੇਬਰਨੀ॥੧੭੦੨॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਚਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰਿਝਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੦੨॥
They descended on the earth playing on their musical instruments like lyres, drums etc., and all are showing their pleasure by dancing and singing and making others pleased.1702.

ਨਭਤੇਉਤਰੀਸੁੰਦਰੀਸਕਲਲੀਏਸੁਰਸਾਜ॥
ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਜ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੰਦਰੀਆਂ ਉਤਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਕਵਨਹੇਤਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹਿਭੂਪਤਿਬਰਬੇਕਾਜ॥੧੭੦੩॥
ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਉਤਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ? ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹੁਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ (ਉਤਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ) ॥੧੭੦੩॥
The beautiful damsels came down from the sky aft3er embellishing themselves and the poet says that the objects of their coming was to wed the king.1703.

ਮੁੰਡਬਿਨਾਤਬਰੁੰਡਸੁਭੂਪਤਿਕੋਚਿਤਮੈਅਤਿਕੋਪਬਢਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਧੜ ਨੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸਭਾਨੁਜੁਠਾਢੇਹੁਤੇਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਤਿਹਊਪਰਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਥੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਉਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ।
The headless king was extremely enraged in his mind and advanced towards the twelve Suryas
ਭਾਜਿਗਏਕਰਿਤ੍ਰਾਸਸੋਊਸਿਵਠਾਢੋਰਹਿਯੋਤਿਹਊਪਰਆਯੋ॥
ਉਹ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਡਰ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ। (ਫਿਰ ਜਿਥੇ) ਸ਼ਿਵ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਉਪਰ ਧਾ ਕੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
They all ran away from that place, but Shiva kept standing there and fell upon him
ਸੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਬੀਰਮਹਾਰਨਧੀਰਚਟਾਕਿਚਪੇਟਦੈਭੂਮਿਗਿਰਾਯੋ॥੧੭੦੪॥
ਉਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਸੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਣਧੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਟਾਕ ਚਪੇੜ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੦੪॥
But that mightly one caused Shiva to fall on the ground with his blow.1704.
ਏਕਨਮਾਰਿਚਪੇਟਨਸਿਉਅਰੁਏਕਨਕੋਧਮਕਾਰਗਿਰਾਵੈ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਪੇੜਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਮਕਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Someone fell with his blow and someone with the thumping of that blow
ਚੀਰਕੈਏਕਨਿਡਾਰਿਦਏਗਹਿਏਕਨਕੋਨਭਿਓਰਿਚਲਾਵੈ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਲ ਵਗਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
He ripped and threw someone towards the sky
ਬਾਜਸਿਉਬਾਜਨਲੈਰਥਸਿਉਰਥਅਉਗਜਸਿਉਗਜਰਾਜਬਜਾਵੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਘੋੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਘੋੜਾ, ਰਥ ਨਾਲ ਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਥੀ ਟਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He caused the horses to collide with horses, the chariots to collide with chariots and the elephants to collide with the elephants
