ਅਤੇ ਇਕੋ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ॥੧੭੩੪॥
Who will curse them in distress and all of them will be destroyed once for all.”1734.

ਹੇ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰ! ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੁਣ (ਤੂੰ) ਰੋਚਕ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣ ॥੧੭੩੫॥
The lotus-eyed Krishna said again, “O sagacious Balram! now you listen to the interesting episode,1735

ਕੰਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸੁਣ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਵਨਜੁਧੁਕਰਿਜੀਤੈਮੋਸੋ॥
ਕੌਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਤ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
“Listen attentively to my words and understand who has been victorious over me in the war?
ਖੜਗਸਿੰਘਮੋਅੰਤਰਨਾਹੀ॥
ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਅੰਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਮੁਹਿਸਰੂਪਵਰਤਤਜਗਮਾਹੀ॥੧੭੩੬॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਤ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੩੬॥
There is no difference between me and Kharag Singh and my form only pervades the whole wold.1736.
ਸਾਚਕਹਿਯੋਹੈਹੇਬਲਿਦੇਵਾ॥
ਹੇ ਬਲਦੇਵ! (ਮੈਂ) ਸਚ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਪਾਯੋਨਹਿਨਕਿਸੂਇਹਭੇਵਾ॥
(ਪਰ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
“O Balram! I am telling you the truth, none knows about this mystery
ਸੂਰਨਮੈਕੋਊਇਹਸਮਨਾਹੀ॥
ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਨ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰੋਨਾਮਬਸੈਰਿਦਮਾਹੀ॥੧੭੩੭॥
(ਇਸ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੩੭॥
There is no warrior amongst the warriors like him, in whose heart abides my Name with such profundity.1737.

ਉਦਰਮਾਝਬਸਿਮਾਸਦਸਤਜਿਭੋਜਨਜਲਪਾਨ॥
(ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ) ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਦਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਸਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਲ-ਪਾਨ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ
“Residing in the womb of the mother for ten months, when he passed his life by relinquishing,
ਪਵਨਅਹਾਰੀਹੁਇਰਹਿਓਬਰੁਦੀਨੋਭਗਵਾਨ॥੧੭੩੮॥
ਕੇਵਲ ਪੌਣ ਆਹਾਰੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਿਹਾ। (ਤਦ) ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੭੩੮॥
Eating and drinking and subsisting only on air, then the Lord bestowed on him a boon.1738.
ਰਿਪੁਜੀਤਨਕੋਬਰੁਲੀਯੋਖੜਗਸਿੰਘਬਲਵਾਨ॥
ਬਲਵਾਨ ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤਣ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।
“The powerful Kharag Singh asked for the boon of conquering the enemy and
ਬਹੁਰਿਤਪਸ੍ਯਾਬਨਿਕਰੀਦ੍ਵਾਦਸਬਰਖਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ॥੧੭੩੯॥
ਫਿਰ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਨੇ) ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤਕ ਭਾਰੀ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੧੭੩੯॥
Then for twelve years, he performed most stern aausterities.”1739.

ਕਥਾ (ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਰਾਤ) ਬੀਤ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਜਾਗੇਸੁਭਟਦੁਹੂੰਦਿਸਿਓਰਿ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਜਾਗ ਪਏ।
This episode ended and the day dawned, the warriors of both the sides awoke
ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿਦਲੁਸਜਿਰਨਿਆਯੋ॥
ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਸੈਨਾ ਸਜਾ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ
ਜਾਦਵਦਲੁਬਲਿਲੈਸਮੁਹਾਯੋ॥੧੭੪੦॥
ਅਤੇ (ਇਧਰ) ਬਲ (ਦੇਵ) ਯਾਦਵ ਸੈਨਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ॥੧੭੪੦॥
Bedecking his army, Jarasandh came into the battlefield and from this side, the Yadava army, gathering all its warriors set itself against the enemy.1740.

ਸ੍ਰੀਬਲਦੇਵਸਬੈਦਲੁਲੈਇਤਤੇਉਮਡਿਓਉਤਤੇਉਇਆਏ॥
ਇਧਰੋ ਬਲਦੇਵ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਧਰੋਂ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਆ ਗਏ।
Balram from this side and the enemy from the other side alonghwith their armies rushed forward
ਜੁਧੁਕੀਓਹਲਲੈਨਿਜਪਾਨਿਹਕਾਰਿਹਕਾਰਿਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਲਗਾਏ॥
(ਬਲਦੇਵ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਸਟਾਂ ਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Balram took his plough in his hand and challenging the enemy struck his blows
ਏਕਪਰੇਭਟਜੂਝਿਧਰਾਪਰਏਕਲਰੈਮਿਲਕੈਇਕਧਾਏ॥
ਕਈ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਜੂਝ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Someone died and fell upon the earth, someone fought and someone fled away
ਮੂਸਲਲੈਬਹੁਰੇਕਰਮੈਅਰਿਮਾਰਿਘਨੇਜਮਧਾਮਿਪਠਾਏ॥੧੭੪੧॥
(ਬਲਦੇਵ ਨੇ) ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਮੂਸਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਯਮ-ਲੋਕ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੪੧॥
Then Balram took his mace in his hand despatched many enemies to the abode of Yama.1741.
ਰੋਸਭਯੋਘਨਸ੍ਯਾਮਲਯੋਧਨੁਬਾਨੁਸੰਭਾਰਿਤਹੀਉਠਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਦੌੜ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਆਨਿਪਰਿਓਤਬਹੀਤਿਨਪੈਰਿਪੁਕਉਹਤਿਕੈਨਦਿਸ੍ਰੋਨਬਹਾਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਆ ਝਪਟੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਲਹੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਵਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Krishna took his bow and arrows in his hands and marched towards the same side and falling upon the enemy, he caused a stream of blood to flow
ਬਾਜਕਰੀਰਥਪਤਿਬਿਪਤਿਪਰੀਰਨਮੈਨਹਿਕੋਠਹਿਰਾਯੋ॥
ਘੋੜਿਆਂ, ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਥਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
A great affliction fell upon the horses, elephants and the chariot-owners
ਭਾਜਤਜਾਤਸਬੈਰਿਸਿਖਾਤਕਛੂਨਬਸਾਤਕਹੈਦੁਖੁਪਾਯੋ॥੧੭੪੨॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਭਜੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਖਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਵਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਲਦਾ, ਦੁਖ ਸਹੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੭੪੨॥
None could stay in the war arena, all are running away, they are in anger and anguish and also helpless.1742.
ਆਗੇਕੀਸੈਨਭਜੀਜਬਹੀਤਬਪਉਰਖਸ੍ਰੀਬ੍ਰਿਜਰਾਜਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਭਜ ਗਈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਲ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ।
ਠਾਢੋਜਹਾਦਲਕੋਪਤਿਹੈਤਹਾਜਾਇਪਰ੍ਯੋਚਿਤਬੀਚਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ॥
ਜਿਥੇ (ਵੈਰੀ) ਦਲ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਸੀ, (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਥੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਪਰ) ਜਾ ਪਿਆ।
When the confronging army fled, Krishna in extreme anger sustained his strength and thinking in his mind, he reached there, where the general of the army was standing
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰਿਮੁਰਾਰਿਸਬੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਠਾਢੋਜਹਾਤਿਹਓਰਿਸਿਧਾਰਿਓ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ, ਜਿਥੇ ਰਾਜਾ (ਜਰਾਸੰਧ) ਖੜੋਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਵਲ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ।
ਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਗਹੀਘਨਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਜਰਾਸੰਧਿਕੋਅਭਿਮਾਨਉਤਾਰਿਓ॥੧੭੪੩॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੭੪੩॥
Holding his weapons, Krishna reached that place, where the king Jarasandh was standing, he held his bow and arrows and pulversied the ego of Jarasandh.1743.
ਸ੍ਰੀਬਲਬੀਰਸਰਾਸਨੁਤੇਜਬਤੀਰਛੁਟੇਤਬਕੋਠਹਰਾਵੈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਜਦ ਬਾਣ ਛੁਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦ (ਭਲਾ) ਕੌਣ ਠਹਿਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾਇਲਗੇਜਿਹਕੇਉਰਮੈਸਰਸੋਛਿਨਮੈਜਮਧਾਮਿਸਿਧਾਵੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਣ ਜਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਛਿਣ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਯਮ ਲੋਕ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
When the arrows were discharged from the bow of Krishna, who could then stand against him? Those who were hit by these arrows, they reached the abode of Yama in an instant
ਐਸੇਨਕੋਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓਜਗਮੈਭਟਜੋਸਮੁਹਾਇਕੈਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਵੈ॥
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ) ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਵੇ।
No such warrior has been born, who could fight in front of Krishna
ਭੂਪਤਿਕਉਨਿਜਬੀਰਕਹੈਂਹਰਿਮਾਰਤਸੈਨਚਲਿਓਰਨਿਆਵੈ॥੧੭੪੪॥
ਰਾਜਾ (ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਨੂੰ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਚਲਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੪੪॥
The warriors of the king said to him, “Krishna is coming alongwith his army in order to kill us.”1744.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕੀਓਰਤੇਬਾਨਛੁਟੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੇਦਲਕੇਬਹੁਬੀਰਨਘਾਏ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਵਲੋਂ (ਜਿਹੜੇ) ਬਾਣ ਛੁਟਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
Many warriors on the side of the king were killed, when the arrows were discharged from the side of Krishna
ਜੇਤਿਕਆਇਭਿਰੇਹਰਿਸੋਛਿਨਬੀਚਤੇਊਜਮਧਾਮਿਪਠਾਏ॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਗੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਿਣ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਯਮ ਲੋਕ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Those who fought with Krishna, reached the abode of Yama
ਕਉਤੁਕਦੇਖਕੈਯੌਰਨਮੈਅਤਿਆਤੁਰਹੁਇਤਿਨਬੈਨਸੁਨਾਏ॥
ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ) ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਵੈਰੀ ਸੈਨਿਕ) ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਵਨਦੇਹੁਅਬੈਹਮਲਉਨ੍ਰਿਪਐਸੇਕਹਿਓਸਿਗਰੇਸਮਝਾਏ॥੧੭੪੫॥
(ਉੱਤਰ ਵਿਚ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਕ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਣ ਦਿਓ ॥੧੭੪੫॥
Seeing this spectacle, the king god agitated and told and instructed his warriors, “Let Krishna near me, then I shall see.”1745.
ਭੂਪਲਖਿਓਹਰਿਆਵਤਹੀਸੰਗਲੈਪ੍ਰਿਤਨਾਤਬਆਪੁਹੀਧਾਯੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸੈਨਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਧ ਚਲਿਆ।
When the king saw Krishna coming, he marched forward alongwith his army
ਆਗੇਕੀਏਨਿਜਲੋਗਸਬੈਤਬਲੈਕਰਮੋਬਰਸੰਖਬਜਾਯੋ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਖ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਜਾਇਆ।
He caused his warriors to advance and taking up his conch in his hand, he blew it
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਤਿਹਆਹਵਮੈਅਤਿਹੀਮਨਭੀਤਰਕੋਡਰਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ।
The poet says that there is no fear in the mind of anyone in the war
ਤਾਧੁਨਿਕੋਸੁਨਿਕੈਬਰਬੀਰਨਕੇਚਿਤਿਮਾਨਹੁਚਾਉਬਢਾਯੋ॥੧੭੪੬॥
ਉਸ (ਸੰਖ) ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਨੋ ਚਾਉ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੭੪੬॥
Hearing the sound of the conch, the minds of the warriors were excited.1746.
