ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿਕੀਅਤਿਚਮੂੰਉਮਡੀਕ੍ਰੋਧਬਢਾਇ॥
ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਮਡ ਪਈ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁਖਬਾਨਹਰਿਪਾਨਿਲੈਛਿਨਮੈਦੀਨੀਘਾਇ॥੧੭੪੭॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼-ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਛਿਣ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੪੭॥
The fourfold army of Jarasandh rushed forward, but Krishna taking his bow and arrows in his hand destroyed all in an instant.1747.

ਜਦੁਬੀਰਕਮਾਨਤੇਬਾਨਛੁਟੇਅਵਸਾਨਗਏਲਖਿਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੇ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਬਾਣ ਛੁਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੋਸ਼ ਉਡ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The enemies lost all courage as the arrows emanated from the bow of Krishna
ਗਜਰਾਜਮਰੇਗਿਰਭੂਮਿਪਰੇਮਨੋਰੂਖਕਟੇਕਰਵਤ੍ਰਨਕੇ॥
ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਮੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ। (ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਪਏ ਹੋਣ।
The dead elephants fell on the earth like the trees falling after being sawed and cut
ਰਿਪੁਕਉਨਗਨੇਜੁਹਨੇਤਿਹਠਾਮੁਰਝਾਇਗਿਰੇਸਿਰਛਤ੍ਰਨਕੇ॥
ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ (ਭਲਾ) ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੌਣ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਛਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਸਿਰ ਮੁਰਝਾ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
The dying enemies were innumerable and at that place there were heaps of the lifeless heads of Kshatriyas
ਰਨਮਾਨੋਸਰੋਵਰਿਆਂਧੀਬਹੈਟੁਟਿਫੂਲਪਰੇਸਤਪਤ੍ਰਨਕੇ॥੧੭੪੮॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਮਾਨੋ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਰੂਪ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਚਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਰੂਪ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਫੁਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੭੪੮॥
The battlefield had become a tank in which the heads were floating like leaves and flowers.1748.
ਘਾਇਲਗੇਇਕਘੂਮਤਘਾਇਲਸ੍ਰਉਨਸੋਏਕਫਿਰੈਚੁਚਵਾਤੇ॥
ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਲਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਘਾਇਲ (ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਘੁੰਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਟਪਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Someone is wounded and swinging and the blood is oozing out from the body of someone
ਏਕਨਿਹਾਰਕੈਡਾਰਿਹਥੀਆਰਭਜੈਬਿਸੰਭਾਰਗਈਸੁਧਿਸਾਤੇ॥
(ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਈ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸੁਟ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਅਤੇ ਕਈ) ਹੋਸ਼ ਗੰਵਾ ਕੇ ਬੇਸੁਧ ਹੋਏ ਭਜੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Someone is running away and frightened by the dreadfulness of war, Sheshnaga has lost his presence of mind
ਦੈਰਨਪੀਠਮਰੈਲਰਕੈਤਿਹਮਾਸਕੋਜੰਬੁਕਗੀਧਨਖਾਤੇ॥
ਜੋ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਠ ਵਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਲੜ ਕੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਸ ਗਿਦੜ ਅਤੇ ਗਿੱਧਾਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੀਆਂ।
Those who are being killed in the act of running away and retracing their steps from the war-arena, their flesh is not even being eaten by the jackals and vultures
ਬੋਲਤਬੀਰਸੁਏਕਫਿਰੈਮਨੋਡੋਲਤਕਾਨਨਮੈਗਜਮਾਤੇ॥੧੭੪੯॥
ਕਈ ਯੋਧੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ (ਇੰਜ) ਬੋਲਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਦ-ਮਾਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੭੪੯॥
The warriors are roaring and shouting like the intoxicated elephants in the forest.1749.
ਪਾਨਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਹੀਘਨਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਬਡੇਰਿਪੁਤੇਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਕੀਏ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਖਣਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Taking his sword in his hand, Krishna made many warriors lifeless
ਗਜਬਾਜਨਕੇਅਸਵਾਰਹਜਾਰਮੁਰਾਰਿਸੰਘਾਰਿਬਿਦਾਰਿਦੀਏ॥
ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਸਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
He killed thousands of the riders of horses and elephants
ਅਰਿਏਕਨਕੇਸਿਰਕਾਟਿਦਏਇਕਬੀਰਨਕੇਦਏਫਾਰਿਹੀਏ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੇ ਚੀਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
The heads of many were chopped and the chests of many were torn
ਮਨੋਕਾਲਸਰੂਪਕਰਾਲਲਖਿਓਹਰਿਸਤ੍ਰਭਜੇਇਕਮਾਰਲੀਏ॥੧੭੫੦॥
(ਉਥੇ ਵੈਰੀ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨੋ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੭੫੦॥
He was moving as the manifestation of Death and killing the enemies.1750.

ਰੋਸਭਰੇਬਹੁਰੋਧਨੁਖਬਾਨਪਾਨਿਲੀਨੋਰਿਪਨਸੰਘਾਰਤਇਉਕਮਲਾਕੋਕੰਤੁਹੈ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੇਤੇਗਜਮਾਰੇਰਥੀਬਿਰਥੀਕਰਿਡਾਰੇਕੇਤੇਐਸੇਭਯੋਜੁਧੁਮਾਨੋਕੀਨੋਰੁਦ੍ਰਅੰਤੁਹੈ॥
ਕਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਹਾਥੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਰਥ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਥ-ਹੀਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਮਾਨੋ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
Being enraged again and taking his bow and arrows in his hands, Krishna is killing the Krishna, he killed many, deprived the chariot-riders of their chariots and such a dreadful war is being fought that doomsday seems to have arrived
ਸੈਥੀਚਮਕਾਵਤਚਲਾਵਤਸੁਦਰਸਨਕੋਕਹੈਕਬਿਰਾਮਸ੍ਯਾਮਐਸੋਤੇਜਵੰਤੁਹੈ॥
ਕਵੀ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸੈਹਥੀ ਚਮਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਚੱਕਰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੇਜਵੰਤ ਹੈ।
Sometimes he is displaying the sword and sometimes as a Glorious one, he sets in motion his discus
ਸ੍ਰਉਨਤਰੰਗੀਨਪਟਸੁਭਟਪ੍ਰਬੀਨਰਨਫਾਗੁਖੇਲਪੌਢਰਹੇਮਾਨੋਬਡੇਸੰਤਹੈ॥੧੭੫੧॥
ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸ਼ੋਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਹਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਵਡੇ ਸੰਤ ਹੋਲੀ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਸੁਸਤਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੭੫੧॥
Those wearing clothes, saturated with blood, appear like hermits playing Holi in their pleasure.1751.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਤੇਨਡਰੇਅਰਿਅਰਰਾਇਪਰੇਸਬਕਹੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਲਰਬੇਕਉਉਮਗਤਿਹੈ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਯੋਧੇ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਡਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਸਭ ਅਰੜਾ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ) ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਾਵਲੇ ਹਨ।
The enemies do not fear Krishna and are rushing forward, challenging him to fight
ਰਨਮੈਅਡੋਲਸ੍ਵਾਮਕਾਰਜੀਅਮੋਲਬੀਰਗੋਲਤੇਨਿਕਸਲਰੈਕੋਪਮੈਪਗਤਹੈ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਅਡੋਲ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੋਲ ਜਿੰਦਾਂ (ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)। (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਦਲਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The warriors remaining stable in war and performing duty for their master, are getting infuriated in their own groups
ਡੋਲਤਹੈਆਸਪਾਸਜੀਤਬੇਕੀਕਰੈਆਸਤ੍ਰਾਸਮਨਿਨੈਕੁਨਹੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੇਭਗਤਹੈ॥
ਇਧਰ ਉਧਰ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਤਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਉਹ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ, ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਪੱਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ।
ਕੰਚਨਅਚਲਜਿਉਅਟਲਰਹਿਓਜਦੁਬੀਰਤੀਰਤੀਰਸੂਰਮਾਨਛਤ੍ਰਸੇਡਿਗਤਹੈ॥੧੭੫੨॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਾਂਗ ਅਟਲ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨਛਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੭੫੨॥
They are most sincere servants of their king Jarasandh and are moving fearlessly near Krishna, Krishna is steady like Sumeru mountainand with the infliction of his arrows, the warriors are falling down like the stars of the sky.1752.

ਇਹਭਾਤਿਇਤੈਜਦੁਬੀਰਘਿਰਿਓਉਤਕੋਪਹਲਾਯੁਧਬੀਰਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਧਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਧਰ ਬਲਦੇਵ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ;
In this way, on this side, Krishna was surrounded and on the other side, getting angry, Balram killed many warriors
ਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਨਪਾਨਿਧਰੇਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਰੇਛਿਤਿਮਾਰੇ॥
ਜੋ ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਆਦਿ (ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
Holding his bow, arrows and sword in his hand, Balram made the warriors lifeless and laid them on the earth
ਟੂਕਅਨੇਕਕੀਏਹਲਿਸੋਬਲਿਕਾਤੁਰਦੇਖਿਭਜੇਬਿਸੰਭਾਰੇ॥
ਹਲ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕਾਇਰ ਲੋਕ ਬੇਸੁਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਜੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
The warriors were chopped into many bits and the great warriors becoming helpless, fled away
ਜੀਤਤਭਯੋਮੁਸਲੀਰਨਮੈਅਰਿਭਾਜਿਚਲੇਤਬਭੂਪਨਿਹਾਰੇ॥੧੭੫੩॥
ਬਲਦੇਵ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਤ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਭਜੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੫੩॥
Balram was getting victorious in the battlefield, the enemies were fleeing and the king saw all this spectacle.1753.
ਚਕ੍ਰਤਹੁਇਚਿਤਬੀਚਚਮੂਪਤਿਆਪੁਨੀਸੈਨਕਉਬੈਨਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਯੋਧਿਓ!
Being wonder-struck, the king said to his army, “O warriors! the time for war has come now
ਭਾਜਤਜਾਤਕਹਾਰਨਤੇਭਟਜੁਧੁਨਿਦਾਨਸਮੋਅਬਆਯੋ॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਰਣ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭਜੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
Where you people are running away?”
ਇਉਲਲਕਾਰਕਹਿਓਦਲਕੋਤਬਸ੍ਰਉਨਨਮੈਸਬਹੂੰਸੁਨਿਪਾਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਕੇ (ਜਦ) ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤਦ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ
This challenge of the king was heard by the whole army
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰਿਫਿਰੇਤਬਹੀਅਤਿਕੋਪਭਰੇਹਠਿਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਯੋ॥੧੭੫੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਤ ਪਏ। ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਠ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ ॥੧੭੫੪॥
And all the warriors taking their weapons in their hands, in extreme rage, began to wage a dreadful war.1754.
ਬੀਰਬਡੇਰਨਧੀਰਸੋਊਜਬਆਵਤਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਨਿਹਾਰੇ॥
ਜੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਣਧੀਰ ਯੋਧੇ ਸਨ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਕਰਿਕੋਪਤਿਹੀਛਿਨਸਾਮੁਹੇਹੋਇਹਰਿਸਸਤ੍ਰਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸੇ ਛਿਣ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਤੇ ਵਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
When Krishna saw the greatly warriors coming, he confronted them, in great fury, he struck blows on them with his weapons
ਏਕਨਕੇਕਰਕਾਟਿਦਏਇਕਮੁੰਡਬਿਨਾਕਰਿਭੂਪਰਿਡਾਰੇ॥
(ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ) ਇਕਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਜੀਤਕੀਆਸਤਜੀਅਰਿਏਕਨਿਹਾਰਕੈਡਾਰਿਹਥਿਯਾਰਪਧਾਰੇ॥੧੭੫੫॥
(ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ) ਜਿਤ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਇਕ (ਯੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸੁਟ ਕੇ ਖਿਸਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੭੫੫॥
Many of them abandoned the hope of victory and throwing their weapons ran away.1755.

ਜਬਹੀਅਤਿਦਲਭਜਿਗਯੋਤਬਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੀਓਉਪਾਇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਲ ਭਜ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ (ਜਰਾਸੰਧ) ਨੇ ਉਪਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਆਪਨਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਸੁਮਤਿਕਉਲੀਨੋਨਿਕਟਿਬੁਲਾਇ॥੧੭੫੬॥
ਆਪਣੇ 'ਸੁਮਤਿ' (ਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ) ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੭੫੬॥
When the army fled away, the king thought of a plan and called his minister Sumati before him.1756.
ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸਛੂਹਨਿਸੈਨਅਬਲੈਧਾਵਹੁਤੁਮਸੰਗ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ) ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਛੋਹਣੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਲ) ਪ੍ਰਸਥਾਨ ਕਰੋ।
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਅਸਤ੍ਰਭੂਪਤਿਦਯੋਅਪੁਨੋਕਵਚਨਿਖੰਗ॥੧੭੫੭॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ, ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਚ ਤੇ ਭੱਥਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੭੫੭॥
“You go now with twelve extremely large units of army for fighting” and saying thus, the king Jarasandh gave him weapons, arms, armours, quivers etc.1757.
ਸੁਮਤਿਚਲਤਰਨਇਉਕਹਿਯੋਸੁਨੀਏਬਚਨਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ॥
ਯੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਸੁਮਤਿ (ਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ) ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! (ਮੇਰਾ) ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣੋ।
ਹਰਿਹਲਧਰਕੇਤਕਬਲੀਕਰੋਕਾਲਕੋਕਾਲ॥੧੭੫੮॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਦੇਵ ਕਿਤਨੇ ਕੁ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਹਨ, (ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ) ਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਕਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ॥੧੭੫੮॥
While marching, the minister Sumati said to the king, “O king! how much great warriors are Krishna and Balram? I shall even kill kal (death).”1758.
